GUEST:Adam Brotman, Forum3 co-founder & co-CEO, excels in enhancing brand-customer relationships and digital marketing through innovations such as loyalty schemes & mobile technology. His creativity earned him the #2 spot on Fast Company's "100 Most Creative People" in 2012 and the CDO Club named him CDO of the Year in 2015. Adam's rich professional background includes strategic leadership roles at J.Crew, where he initiated their first loyalty program, and notably at Starbucks. As their inaugural Chief Digital Officer, he orchestrated the development of Starbucks' mobile payment, ordering, and loyalty platform. Adam's current board commitments include MOD Pizza Company and Ruby Tuesday, and he has previously served on the boards of Neiman Marcus and Brooks Running Shoe Company. THE EPISODE: Adam Brotman helped envision and launch what's currently seen as the shining example of blockchain-based customer loyalty programs - the Starbucks Odyssey experience. Ashley chats with Adam to unpack what these programs can offer, and how blockchain technology & digital assets play pivotal roles in moving away from a short-term and transactional brand strategy, to a community-building approach which encourages storytelling, participation, and fun. He explains why on-chain loyalty programs are becoming easier to roll out, shares that most brands are afraid of experimentation (providing an opportunity to those willing to learn, pivot, and grow), and offers insights on how employees can drive innovation within their organizations. Adam also gives the audience a sneak peek into his current initiative, hive3.ai - where users can compete for great prizes from some of their favourite brands.GUEST QUOTE:"Think about Web3 as a technology or a capability set that can help enhance how you innovate your customer relationship transformation." There's a new three-peat on the BiggerPockets Real Estate Podcast, and no, it's not Michael Jordan. Danny Johnson, the founder of Forefront CRM, is back with us on today's episode to talk about the five F-words of real estate investing. Before you jump to conclusions, this is a family-friendly show, the F-words we're talking about are fear, fundamentals, focus, funnel, and follow up.Many investors find too few deals, too few motivated sellers, or too few ways to find financing. This is all being said while other investors are closing deals, finding motivated sellers, and getting the financing they need to pursue even more deals. What separates the two from each other? Often, it comes down to the simplest things. Are you trying to be too creative or are you mastering the fundamentals? Do you know your metrics down to a tee so you can improve upon them? How is your funnel being filled and where are your leads coming through? If leads come through, are you following up or letting them fade away? And lastly, are you pushing past your fear to do any of the above things? If you feel like you're stuck, without much of a handle on your real estate business, feel free to try Danny's Forefront CRM!In This Episode We Cover:How to create time freedom in a business largely depends on your effortsTracking how your team performs their work and continuously improvingPushing past fear and not allowing laziness to stop your dreams Understanding the fundamentals and performing them as well as possibleTracking and reviewing metrics consistently Knowing the costs to fill your funnel and seeing every phone call as a potential dealFollowing up with customers (without being too salesy or pushy)And SO much more!Links from the ShowBiggerPockets ForumsBiggerPockets CalculatorsBiggerPockets Youtube ChannelBiggerPockets Podcast 018 : Flipping, Marketing, and Wholesaling with Danny JohnsonBiggerPockets Podcast 144: Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone and Kicking Butt at Real Estate with Danny JohnsonTrelloPipedriveForefrontCRMBrandon's InstagramDavid's InstagramCheck the full show notes here: https://biggerpockets.com/show494See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Your ‘A’ game, your best self, your peak performance is all about reaching that optimal state of consciousness when you feel like you’re kicking butt and taking names. It’s about getting in the zone, feeling the flow and delivering 100 percent. SHOW NOTES This episode of Crina and Kirsten Get to Work is about bringing your A-game. From a good bra to preparation and performance, Crina and Kirsten have some ideas about how to show up as your best self. Peak performance is about being in the flow, and is described as an optimal state of consciousness - a lack of self- absorption, where the self vanishes, time flies, and optimal performance is achieved. “It’s an efficiency exchange,” says American University in Beirut neuroscientist Arne Dietrich, who helped discover this phenomena. “We’re trading energy usually used for higher cognitive functions for heightened attention and awareness.” This is one of the main reasons flow feels flowy—because any brain structure that would hamper rapid-fire decision-making is literally shut off - and performance, well, just works. When do we need to bring our A-game? An interview, public speaking, a presentation, saying no, asking for a raise, pitching a new client, interviewing Cheryl Strayed on your next episode of Crina and Kirsten Get to Work. What does peak performance look like? It looks like Anne-Marie Faiola, founder of Brambleberry, Soap Queen, Author of Best Day Ever and all around amazing human. But if you do not do your best, you do not know what you are capable of. Peak performance also looks like being your mental, emotional and physical best - and here are some other ideas. Email me at tilemoney@gmail.com for access to my Media Kit 2:55 Online Phone Sales Techniques and Questions You need to get used to being rejected regularly, but never lose your enthusiasm or get discouraged. Every ‘no’, gets you closer to someone saying ‘yes’, according to YOUR TERMS! You are selling yourself and an initial phone conversation is the First Impression which you cannot get back. 9:45 Question number one: “May I ask you a few questions to get to know you a little bit better and determine if we are a good fit for each other?” What’s the point of this question? 1. You don’t want the phone conversation to seem like an interrogation. 2. You are subconsciously indicating to the potential client that YOU are in control of the sales conversation and that you’re to be taken seriously. 11:15 Question number Two: “Could you tell me a bit about the scope of your project? What would you like to have done?” You’re going to want to listen closely. Most people are going to really TALK here. “Mirroring” repeat back to them what you heard them say. This is going to signal to them that you are ready to LISTEN to their needs and that you understand what they want to be done. 12:40 INDUSTRY NEWS Sponsored by the NTCA Recently on FB, there's been some talk about safety at work, or lack of it. A thread started about lung safety and the danger of Silica. It's 2019 and it should be obvious that we should all be wearing masks. Are you taking unnecessary risks? Worse yet are you asking your employees to take unnecessary risks? Do you train your people about the dangers and risks? How would you and where to start? NTCA has the Online University that does just this, close to 100 lessons, this is a combination of lessons for the Business Owner as well as for the employee. It's probably not an exaggeration to say that Canada has never had another athlete like Kaillie Humphries. The three time Olympian Bobsledder isn’t just a game-changing competitor, and ground breaking female pilot, she’s also a magnetic presence for fan fascination. Almost every aspect of her career and personal life attracts notice. Kaillie joins Host Anastasia Bucsis to talk about all the things that keep her at the top of sliding sports fans attention. First of all, there’s her relationship with brakeman Heather Moyse. They were not racing together at Pyeong Chang in 2018, but the partnership obviously still occupies a great deal of her introspection time. Kaillie calls brakeman-pilot relations ‘arranged marriages’ a description which works on many levels. Sled mates may be very different types, and love is not essential, but they are yoked together, and bonded in a common purpose. All has not been cool runnings for Humphries post 2018 Olympics, either. She slipped into a significant depression during the off season, which she is really only recently clawing her way out of. Humphries links the down turn to a harassment claim that she has launched against her sport federation. Humphries is always thoughtful about the matter of representation — as a fierce female in a traditionally all masculine sport. Sometimes she lets her tats do the talking, and when all else fails, there’s always, as she says, good old kicking ass and taking numbers on the track.

Furthermore, since 1999, the School of Computer Science has enrolled and sustained well above national averages of women in the CS major, all without changing the curriculum to be “pink” in any way (as is often presumed). In this podcast, Carol Frieze, Grace Lewis, and Jeria Quesenberry discuss CMU’s approach to creating a more inclusive environment for all computer science students, regardless of gender. They also discuss resources that educators can use to encourage all students to study computer science at the primary and secondary levels. Listen on Apple Podcasts.

Brazil’s economy was struggling so Candice Pascoal did something about it. She founded Kickante, a crowdfunding site that has become a leader in Brazil. “Brazil’s economy is struggling, and traditional venture capital is not available for companies and organizations to fund companies and projects,” Candice says. “Crowdfunding is new in Brazil, and also Brazilians are not accustomed to asking others for money to fund projects. Because traditional funding measures have dried up, lots of startups and NGOs need capital to do what they need to do. This also includes individuals, like artists and musicians. They need funds to do their projects.” Candice explains how Kickante is helping, saying, “Kickante is bringing the sharing economy to Brazil. Our platform helps companies with a way to reach out to people they wouldn’t have been able to reach, helping them fund projects. Since Brazilians are not familiar with crowdfunding, Kickante has tools to help them learn how to conduct a crowdfunding campaign, reach more people, and continue to connect with those people, both during and after the campaign. Kickante provides marketing tools, website tips and other means by which individuals and organizations can improve their campaigns.” She believes she is making a difference that will lead to a better Brazil. “We strongly believe we can democratize access to funds in Brazil, a very bureaucratic expensive banking environment, making more dreams come true, more people happy and hopefully more homes prosper with stability.” Please consider whether a friend or colleague might benefit from this piece and, if so, share it.
