Trump has been making some foreign policy moves I didn't entirely expect. He seems determined to get a nuclear deal with Iran. He's been public about his disagreements with Benjamin Netanyahu. He called Vladimir Putin “crazy.” And he keeps talking about wanting his legacy to be that of a peacemaker. So what, at this point, can we say about Trump's foreign policy? What is he trying to do, and how well is it working? If he succeeds, what might his legacy be? Emma Ashford is a senior fellow at the Stimson Center, a foreign policy think tank, and the author of the forthcoming book “First Among Equals.” She comes from a school of thought that's more sympathetic to the “America First” agenda than I typically am. But she's also cleareyed about what is and isn't working and the ways that Trump is an idiosyncratic foreign policy maker who isn't always following an “America First” agenda himself.

Terror Attack in Boulder, Colorado Incident Overview: A violent attack occurred during a peaceful pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, where Molotov cocktails were thrown at elderly Jewish participants, injuring five people—two seriously. Suspect Details: The alleged attacker is identified as an Egyptian national who overstayed a visa and was in the U.S. illegally. He had reportedly received work authorization under the Biden administration. Political Commentary: Cruz and Ferguson frame the attack as part of a broader trend of rising antisemitic violence in the U.S., which they attribute to radical leftist ideologies and lax immigration policies. They criticize the media and local authorities for downplaying the incident and praise the FBI for labeling it a targeted terror attack. Broader Implications: The hosts argue that this attack is part of a growing wave of anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment, likening it to an "intifada" on U.S. soil. They express concern about national security risks stemming from open border policies. 2. Ukraine’s Drone Strike on Russian Bombers Operation Details: Ukraine reportedly executed a sophisticated drone strike, dubbed “Spiderweb,” targeting four Russian air bases and destroying or damaging 41 strategic bombers. The drones were hidden in wooden sheds transported near the bases and launched remotely. Strategic Impact: The attack is described as a major tactical success, potentially causing over $2 billion in damage and hitting 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers. Context and Reactions: The strike was in response to a large-scale Russian drone and missile attack. Cruz emphasizes Ukraine’s resilience and ingenuity, contrasting it with early U.S. intelligence assessments that underestimated Ukraine’s capabilities. Geopolitical Outlook: Cruz suggests the war may end in 2025, possibly due to waning U.S. financial support. He advocates for a negotiated settlement that results in a clear loss for Russia, while expressing skepticism about both Putin’s and Zelensky’s willingness to compromise. Can you believe it's already June? So much has happened since President Donald Trump returned to the White House four and a half months ago, it's hard to process. In that short amount of time, Trump has unilaterally thrown the global trading system into chaos and tried to end the constitutional right of birthright citizenship. His administration has stripped billions in federal grants from universities, arrested international students, and put tens of thousands of federal workers out of jobs. The constant din of chaos is exhausting, and it's easy to grow numb to it, to normalize it. New York Times opinion columnist M. Gessen explains the parallels they see with early 2000s Russia, when President Vladimir Putin consolidated power, and what we can — and can't — learn from that period. And in headlines: Ukraine said it destroyed dozens of Russian military bombers in a massive drone attack deep inside Russian territory, the Supreme Court allowed the Trump Administration to temporarily lift deportation protections for around half a million migrants, and Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst told constituents worried about proposed Medicaid cuts that ‘we all are going to die.' A man in Colorado has been arrested after setting fire to people marching for the release of Israeli hostages. The FBI are treating it as a terror attack. The Colorado Sun has the latest. Dozens were reported dead or severely injured in southern Gaza, reportedly near the controversial U.S.-Israeli aid sites. CNN has been following the conflicting reports. With Russia-Ukraine talks set to begin, a Ukraine drone attack took Putin by surprise. The Wall Street Journal’s Thomas Grove explains how Russia revamped its economy to be focused solely on efforts to advance the war. Plus, an ICE raid caused chaos in San Diego, Canada’s wildfires continue as the Midwest faces air-quality warnings, and beekeepers swarmed to the rescue after millions of honeybees escaped in Washington. Today’s episode was hosted by Shumita Basu.
A stunning drone strike deep inside Russian territory—2,500 miles from the front—has reshaped the geopolitical chessboard. On June 1, 2025, Ukraine launched its boldest and most far-reaching attack yet, destroying over 40 Russian aircraft and dealing a blow worth billions. But with peace talks simultaneously unfolding in Istanbul and U.S. senators visiting Kyiv just hours prior, the question arises: was this escalation part of a larger plan? This episode explores the timing, motives, and potential fallout of what some are calling Russia's Pearl Harbor—and what it means for the future of the war.--Go to http://GetLiverHelp.com/Turley to try their Liver Health Formula and get a FREE 1-month's supply of Blood Sugar Formula!*The content presented by sponsors may contain affiliate links. Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they fume over the anti-Semitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, bemoan the abysmal media bias in covering the attack, and praise the recent Ukrainian drone attacks deep into Russia. First, they denounce the anti-Semitic attack on a peaceful march demanding the release of hostages held by Hamas. An illegal immigrant reportedly hurled Molotov cocktails into the crowd, injuring eight people. The FBI labeled the assault an act of terrorism, marking yet another example of violence aimed at Jews, including the firebombing of the Pennsylvania governor's residence and the murders of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington. Next, Jim and Greg berate the media's disgraceful reporting. Major outlets downplayed the facts, ignored anti-Semitic motives, and misrepresented key details, which were laughable, exasperating, and entirely predictable. Finally, they assess Ukraine's successful drone offensive deep inside Russia. Using more than a hundred drones, Ukraine destroyed dozens of critical warplanes and sent a strategic message to Moscow. And Jim explains how Putin will only change if Russian elites begin to suffer from the war. Please visit our great sponsors:Upgrade your skincare routine with Caldera Lab and see the difference. In this episode, Hanson explains what Trump is really signaling: that his strategy was always about making peace through strength — not appeasement. And now that Putin is throwing that opportunity away, the world sees who truly wants war. “ I think what Vladimir Putin thinks, that he's going to continue the war; continue the terror campaign; get greater concessions from the Europeans, the Americans, and the Ukrainians; and move the battle lines a little bit to the west. And I think he's sorely mistaken. He's misreading Donald Trump. “If I was Vladimir Putin, I would cut a deal today. And then, I would resume natural gas and oil shipments to Europe. I would open the economy back up. And I would tell the Russian people what you did. … And that's a lot better—it's not a good scenario, but it's a lot better than another Stalingrad or Verdun or Somme for the next two years for Russia.”

President Trump wants to make a deal with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. Putin says Russia wants to engage in peace talks, but Putin has also been ordering the most widespread and violent aerial attacks on Ukraine in years. This has led Trump to criticize Putin more and more in public — a step that's been rare over the course of Trump's two terms in office.Three years into his war on Ukraine, what does Putin really want? It's a question leaders around the world are trying to figure out.To learn more, NPR's Scott Detrow speaks with Angela Stent, Professor Emeritus at Georgetown University, Senior Fellow at the Brookings institution — a nonpartisan policy organization in Washington DC — and author of the book "Putin's World: Russia Against the West and With the Rest. Three years ago, Russian troops and tanks invaded Ukraine and started the largest land war in Europe since World War II. And like the Second World War, the war in Ukraine has drawn in money, weapons, and even troops from around the world, from the United States to North Korea. The invasion served as a wake-up call to many in the West about the threats posed by Vladimir Putin's revanchist Russia, even while it drained the Kremlin's war chest and depleted its military—including a march on Moscow by disgruntled mercenary forces. John Sullivan served as the U.S. ambassador to Russia from February 2020 to September 2022, and in his book Midnight in Moscow, he related the behind-the-scenes activity in Moscow and the West in the lead-up to the war. It is a war that many have come to see—and that Putin has declared it to be—a struggle against the West itself, not just Ukraine. Has Russia been weakened by the collapse of its Syrian ally Bashar al-Assad? How extensive is Russian involvement in attacks on Western European infrastructure? How has Russia been able to evade harsh sanctions? And how is the West doing—under President Joe Biden and next under President Donald Trump—in meeting the threat? Welcome back to Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu! In today's episode, Tom and his co-host Drew dive into a whirlwind of current events and big ideas shaping our world. From Elon Musk waving goodbye to the “Doge cuts” and reflections on America's wild economic ride, to the drama of world leaders like Macron and the ongoing tension between global powers, this conversation pulls no punches. Tom breaks down the real state of our financial system—likening it to the Titanic heading for an iceberg—and explains why having a personal “life raft” like Bitcoin or gold might just be your best bet. Together, he and Drew tackle questions about government spending, hard money, and why even the most brilliant minds can't always fix a broken system. But it's not just economics on the table; prepare for a deep discussion about the dangers and potential of AI—as Drew shares new revelations about an AI model showing signs of self-preservation, deception, and even attempts at replicating itself. The conversation spins further out to explore the dangers of centralized digital currencies, the complexities of trusting experts, and the importance of questioning authority—especially when the stakes are sky-high. Academic and political scientist Norman Finkelstein clashed with Israeli historian Benny Morris during a recent appearance on Piers Morgan's television program. Specifically, Morris kept interrupting and accusing Finkelstein of lying as he tried to share the results of a recent Penn State University poll showing that majorities of Israelis support genocide in Gaza and a substantial majority support ethnic cleansing. Guest host Keaton Weiss and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss Finkelstein comparing Morris to a Holocaust denier. Plus segments on Donald Trump accusing Vladimir Putin of going “crazy” and Israeli troops firing on crowds of starving Gazans desperately crowding into designated relief zones.

Trump also appears increasingly frustrated with Russian leader Vladimir Putin over Moscow's ongoing airstrikes in Ukraine. How could this affect any peace negotiations? SEASON 3 EPISODE 130: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) BREAKING NEWS: A Reagan judge, an Obama judge, and a Trump judge walk into a courtroom and rule Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs - which not only crashed our economy but that of the entire world's - are not a legal use of the 1977 laws empowering him to take actions in the event of an economic emergency. This is not just any court. It's the United States Court of International Trade. Trump already appealed. Stephen Miller already called it a "judicial coup." The fact that America's corporations simply went along with Trump's crap when it knew - as the court knew - this was executive overreach - is its own problem. The halt on the tariffs will itself probably be halted by the appeals. So the re-shaping of the market will be re-re-shaped by the judges, and re-re-re-shaped by the further litigation. That, of course, is not Trump's problem. His only job is to break stuff. SPECIAL COMMENT: Now it's Governor Gretchen Whitmer has learned the lesson - twice. Never appease Trump, never negotiate with Trump, never cooperate with Trump, never support anything Trump wants, never do anything Trump wants. All that registers with him is: you are easier for him to destroy. She sucked up to him. She worked with him. He tricked her into appearing at his photo-op. She hid her face behind a folder like it was a perp walk. Now, he says he's looking into PARDONING THE TERRORISTS CONVICTED OF TRYING TO KIDNAP HER. There is only one way Gretchen Whitmer is going to SURVIVE Trump, Governor. Apple is going to SURVIVE Trump, Tim Cook. There is only one way Columbia is going to SURVIVE Trump, Claire Shipman. There is only one way the White House Correspondents are going to SURVIVE Trump, Eugene Daniels. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’ll spell it out. Doing what he wants only tells him you will DO WHAT HE WANTS. So he comes back and gives you ANOTHER list of what he wants. He’s a blackmailer. He’s a crooked businessman. He’s a bully. There is only one way to SURVIVE Trump and that is to DESTROY Trump. In a world of White House Correspondents, be the PENTAGON Correspondents. In a world of Apples, be Wal-Mart. In a world of Columbias, be a Harvard. Put your hands on Trump’s shoulders and knee him in the groin. Stand up to him and you can then own HIM, like the Harvard newspaper op-ed writer who has proposed settling the disputes between her school and Trump by challenging Secretary of "Education" Linda McMahon, the wife of the wrestling slime bag, to a Steel Cage Match. ALSO: TRUMP CONFESSES to operating on Russia's behalf and to protecting Putin. HE LEARNS for the first time of the Wall Street analysts mocking him with the tariff acronym "TACO" ("Trump Always Chickens Out") and he chickens out. Turns out Tom Homan also worked for the top Private Prison company. A woman who contributed a million to Trump gets a pardon for her jailbird son. Anybody remember Rudy Giuliani's alleged boast he could sell you a pardon for two million, to be split between him and Trump. And a past president's grandson has died. The president he was the grandson of, left office in... 1845. B-Block (33:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Kristi Noem and the camel she rode in on. Jesse Watters and Rep. Tim Burchett try to make fun of men using straws not remembering there's a photo of Trump at Yankee Stadium using a straw. And boy did THIS sound familiar: Rupert Murdoch just buried a New York Post reporter who followed all the rules and instructions Murdoch's minions had laid out for him, because somebody didn't like the story... Just like in 2001 Rupert personally fired ME for doing exactly the same thing (C-Block 43:00 THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL). The punchline is the reporter's name is Josh Kosman and last September he was the guy at The Post who called and told me they were about to update the RFK Jr/Olivia Nuzzi sexting story by claiming I had lived with Olivia. So I busted his scoop and put the story out immediately. Now we're in the Rupert Isn't A Journalist Club. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tommy and Ben are on the Trump corruption beat, including Vietnam's fast-tracking of a Trump golf project for favorable treatment, the administration pushing Elon Musk's Starlink on foreign countries, the president's grotesque dinner for buyers of his memecoin, and Cory Booker's embarrassing vote for Charles Kushner to be ambassador to France. Additionally, they talk about the reduction of National Security Council staff and how its operations are changing for the worse under Trump and the administration's hostility to international students. Also discussed: the tragic killing of two Israeli embassy workers in Washington, Israel's widely denounced new method of distributing aid in Gaza, Putin's ongoing humiliation of Trump, North Korea's failed battleship launch, Japan's rice crisis and how a joke cost a government minister his job, and the crucial role a biscuit tin plays in New Zealand politics. Finally, Tommy speaks with Representative Jim Himes, ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, about the dangers of politicizing intelligence, how the war in Gaza might be fueling terrorism, and more.
