In April 1988, the quiet lakeside community of Lakeway, Texas was shaken when 45-year-old Betty Ann Thomas vanished from her home on Cold Water Lane. A violent scene inside the residence suggested a targeted attack, and two days later, Betty was found in the trunk of her Jaguar outside an Austin hotel, bound, gagged, and executed. Her murder became the first, and still the only, homicide in Lakeway's history.As detectives uncovered Betty's life story and examined her home for clues, an eerie parallel emerged: her father-in-law had been murdered in a similarly cold-blooded fashion eight years earlier. Though investigators explored every possibility, including motives involving money and past associations, the case ultimately went cold.Decades later, advancements in forensics, including an unidentified male DNA profile and recent fingerprint matches, have reignited the investigation. Cine sunt semnatarii listei de susținere a magistraților din reportajul Recorder și cine sunt marii absenți (Adevărul) - cu Diana Buzoianu: Nu m-am născut ministru. Pot să plec mâine liniștită și să lucrez în domeniul privat (SpotMedia) - Un profesor de economie demontează mitul majorării salariului minim: „O să avem oameni care vor fi lăsați pe străzi” (Adevărul) - Ce a fost în 2025, ce am previzionat şi ce a ieşit (Ziarul Financiar) Judecătoarea Raluca Moroșanu: „Dacă nu se schimbă ceva acum, nu se va mai schimba niciodată” (Recorder) „După ce am văzut documentarul Recorder, în care judecătorul Laurențiu Beșu a apărut cu fața, mi-am zis că este sub demnitatea mea să-l las pe acest om singur”. O să descriu și o altă metodă”, a spus procurorul DNA, care a acceptat dialogul sub rezerva protejării identității, avînd în vedere statutul său de magistrat în activitate. Procurorii investighează cazurile nu singuri, ci coordonând polițiști judiciari. „De peste un deceniu, cu zeci de milioane de euro și cu instruire sprijinită de țări din UE s-au construit în MAI structuri polițienești de investigație care au cooperat cu DNA. Dintr-o dată, relația s-a întrerupt, prin hotărârea ÎCCJ”, a explicat pentru HotNews un ofițer din MAI, în completarea a ceea ce spune procurorul DNA.  Dacă tai cooperarea cu forța de elită a poliției române și cauți polițiști la IPJ-uri, atunci automat forța de cercetare a DNA scade, iar asta a fost făcută intenționat, la nivel înalt și coordonat, afirmă și procurorul din DNA. Justiția, ruptă în două. Cine sunt semnatarii listei de susținere a magistraților din reportajul Recorder și cine sunt marii absenți (Adevărul) Reportajul Recorder, în care mai mulți magistrați denunță ceea ce ei consideră încălcări grave ale libertății judecătorilor și în urma căruia se cere schimbarea șefilor din Justiție, i-a împărțit pe magistrați.  Printre cei 811 de semnatari se află 49 de judecători pensionari și 43 de procurori pensionari. Ceilalți sunt magistrați activi, procurori și judecători. Adevărul scrie că printre semnatari sunt și magistrați controversați, acuzați de-a lungul anilor că ar fi încălcat la rândul lor principiile Justiției. Pe listă nu se află fostul adjunct al Laurei Codruța Kovesi, Marius Iacob. De asemenea, de pe listă lipsește numele lui Daniel Morar, fost șef al DNA. Nici Gabriela Scutea, fost procuror general, nu a aderat la lista magistraților activiști, la fel cum nici Laura Oprean, și ea fost procuror general și fost adjunct al lui Morar nu a găsit necesar să se implice. Un alt nume cunoscut care lipsește este cel al lui Lucian Papici, fost procuror DNA, șef de secție cu dosare importante pe vremea lui Daniel Morar. Diana Buzoianu: Nu m-am născut ministru. Pot să plec mâine liniștită și să lucrez în domeniul privat (SpotMedia) Criza apei din județul Prahova a fost folosită de PSD și AUR pentru a-l destabiliza pe ministrul Mediului, numit de USR, cerându-i-se, public, demisia și depunându-se în Parlament o moțiune simplă la adresa sa.  E avocat, deputat USR, are 31 de ani și a intrat în politică din cauza Ordonanței 13, impusă de Liviu Dragnea în 2017, pentru a scăpa de condamnările pentru corupție.  În actuala coaliție de guvernare a fost nominalizată de partidul din care face parte pentru poziția de ministru al Mediului.  La scurt timp după numire, măsurile de reformă inițiate de ea s-au lovit de interesele PSD, care dorea să-și păstreze oamenii și controlul asupra unor regii și companii publice, aflate în subordinea ministerului. Totuși, profesorul de economie Cristian Păun avertizează că măsura riscă să se transforme într-un bumerang pentru mediul privat și pentru angajații vulnerabili. El explică mecanismul fiscal prin care statul câștigă practic jumătate din orice majorare. Pe larg în ziar. Unele întrebări sunt în vigoare şi acum, dar dacă acum tragem linie, poate nu a fost un an chiar aşa de rău. De bine, de rău, nu  ne-am confruntam cu vreo criză majoră care să dea România peste cap, avem un preşedinte nou, Nicuşor Dan, pro-european, avem un guvern nou Bolojan pro-european, avem o coaliţe politică pro-europeană care merge înainte, în ciuda retoricii de rupere a coaliţiei afişată în fiecare zi. Deşi a fost confruntată cu multe semne de întrebare, mai ales după creşterea taxelor- TVA-ul a crescut de la 19 la 21%, economia nu a intrat în criză, reuşeşte să se menţină la suprafaţă în ciuda scăderii consumului şi chiar sunt şanse bune de a închide anul cu o creştere economică de peste 1%, scrie jurnalistul Cristian Hostiuc, director editorial ZF.

Then we see that guy from the beginning, Nick, trying to find a new flat — but they're all too expensive.We see Sophia go to work at a fancy store called Sterlings, the same one she was planning to rob at the beginning. She hates it when people are mean. When a woman mistreats an employee, Sophia steals her dog's diamond collar.Nick, who works at a cell phone repair shop, is able to watch the Sterlings security cameras and sees her do this — and also sees her steal some petty cash. But there's a good reason: her mom is very sick and needs an expensive treatment.Nick visits her the next day, asks if she knows where he could find a diamond collar, and hands her a USB before scurrying off. That night, she watches it: it's a video of her stealing, with a message to meet him the next day.She does, and he blackmails her into helping him rob the Sterlings security locker. She says no way — while pickpocketing his locker. But they need a key fob that generates a new code every sixty seconds, which Sterling keeps in his bedroom. She tells Nick they need to figure out a way to get him into Sterling's bedroom to steal the fob.Nick admits to Sophia he never actually stole from Sterlings. The owner did it himself for the insurance money. He framed Nick, who took a plea deal for a shorter prison sentence so he wouldn't miss his daughter's life.They consider giving up — until they find out that Sterling's wife (who hates him) will be at a fancy gala. They hatch a plan to get him there, seduce her, and have her bring him back to her place — hopefully stealing the fob along the way.They get all fancy and head to the gala. It works. But when they get back to her place, they find out she recognized him. They've been found out. She offers to give them the fob if they cut her into the deal.They hatch a new plan to break in after the store closes on Christmas Eve. The fob works, but when the door opens, they discover another door that requires Sterling's DNA to unlock. All is lost — until Sophia gives her DNA. Turns out Sterling is her dad. Her mom worked there, Sterling got her mom pregnant, then fired her and cut her off completely.They get in and put the money in a bag. On their way out, a security guard comes to investigate. They hide but are caught when Nick sneezes. They make a run for it but are ultimately caught. Sophia says she'll take the fall if she can give her mom her cut, so that he can be with his daughter. Before running out, she gives Nick a kiss.While they're being chased, Sterling shows up with the police to see what's been taken. When the locker opens, all the stolen goods from the vault are in there.Cynthia (Sterling's wife) had told Sophia and Nick she didn't want a cut of the money — she wanted Sterling arrested so she could take over the company. She promised to take care of them for their help. She also told them where Sterling hid his stolen goods before the insurance claim went through. Sophia and Nick moved all those goods into the safe so Sterling would get caught for insurance fraud. It works.When the security guard recognizes Sophia, she tells him what she knows, and he lets her go free. Nick and Sophia meet back up later, and, of course, they share a kiss. Prosecutors in the Brian Walshe murder trial are trying to do something extremely rare: prove first-degree murder without a body, without a weapon, and without a confirmed cause of death. Ana Walshe has never been found. But what the Commonwealth does have is a digital trail that reads like a blueprint for premeditated murder — and a defendant positioned to receive $2.7 million in life insurance if his wife died. According to testimony from Massachusetts State Police Trooper Nicholas Guarino, the searches began at 4:52 a.m. on New Year's Day: “Best way to dispose of a body.” Three minutes later: “How long before a body starts to smell.” Over the next several days, the searches continued and escalated — questions about DNA degradation, dismemberment tools, identifying remains with broken teeth, and research into serial killer Patrick Kearney, the so-called “trash bag killer.” Day 5 testimony took the case even deeper. Trooper Connor Keefe read dozens of text messages Brian allegedly sent to Ana's phone for three days after prosecutors say she was already dead. None were delivered. Her phone was never recovered. In court, jurors also saw the tools investigators pulled from a Swampscott dumpster — a hacksaw, hatchet, hammer, shears, tape, even a measuring cup — items prosecutors say Brian used to dismember her body. Former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins us to assess the strength of the Commonwealth's case, the role of circumstantial evidence in no-body prosecutions, and how the defense is trying to introduce doubt through marital context and investigative missteps. Send us a textA few years after the targeting of my person and property and work began in 2009,  I wrestled with the shock of knowing that I had joined the endless list of citizens that are being brutally targeted by a militia of assailants who are highly trained ex military, ex intelligence and otherwise experts in the field of strategically targeting individuals.  We are targeted for a plethora of reasons. My lifelong educational work has been under the radar, where I have made profound strides in helping people to deal from devastation, despair and disease while raising awareness in accord with the ancient Vedic science of life. But somewhere in time, I was spotted by certain powerful groups who considered my work challenging to their agenda of controlling the narrative of health, healing and the supremacy over earth's intelligence. Or perhaps, they just hated that this brown skinned intelligent woman appeared to be arrogantly sojourning her own way with a free mind and open spirit. In Vedic tradition, karma is explicitly defined as unfolding by cosmic laws, I had to wrap my mind around the idea that before taking this birth my soul had signed up for a specific purpose and path of truth that would be riddled with obstacles. Indeed, the mind would not have registered for this deeply wounding journey peppered with violations across layers of the body, mind, spirit and space. It took me 14 years to share this deeply wounded story - the mired depths of it where horrors are transformed into lessons that serve the greater good of humanity.  I needed to scour beneath the dirge of it, put it in perspective, and allow myself to grow into the woman I am becoming instead of being withered by the experience. Just spouting off about the relentless daily/ nightly activities of being  targeted for the past 14 years would have offered no wisdom to help others.  unresolved traumas when unconsciously shared simply leach feeling of joy, resolve, and ease.  When every sentient part of your inner and outer space is plundered in the  way that mine has been, there is a deep sense of shame aroused by the violence - shame and grief connected to the vasanas  of  ancestors.   In Advaita Vedanta, we understand that perception is creation, that the act of seeing creates what we see. That the world rises at the same time that it perceived. Therefore the overarching truth of all that happens to us first starts within. Vasanas are seed tendencies that have been inculcated by ancestors. If the survivalism  seeds of fear, angst have been honed in generation DNA, what we inherit will continue to play out in our lives. Unless, we become aware of that what we project, manifests- the principle of Drishti Srishti Vada. Therefore the first truth to fathom in this episode is that all I share with you here has a source connection to my ancestral vasana. This statement does not condone the violent action of others, it simply provides a handle to the casual source within, that source to which we must continually return to air grievance, and heal. When attacks against us are relentless, it tends to leave no room for us to pause, for to forgive requires inner space. The only open door under these circumstances is to dive within….take stock of the vasanas you are harboring. China was a guinea pig state for technocracy, used by Trilateral Commission in order to trial run the internet of things. Criticism of government or politicians will get you banned from entry into the United States with this new rule. With the new AI regulatory centralization by the federal government, this technocratic nightmare is worsening by the day with mass surveillance suddenly being overlooked by those who would usually be against it as they were under Obama and Biden. What happened? How is this "winning?" This is a new Tower of Babel being built and normalized around us. The Brian Walshe murder trial took a stunning turn Thursday morning when the defense rested without calling a single witness. Not Brian Walshe. Not their forensic experts. Not the medical professional who was supposed to explain how a healthy 39-year-old woman just drops dead in bed. Nothing. This comes just 24 hours after Walshe's attorneys told the judge he would take the stand. Instead, when asked directly by Judge Diane Freniere, Walshe confirmed: "I will not testify." After eight days of prosecution testimony and 50 witnesses, the defense offered zero counter-evidence to support the "sudden unexplained death" theory they promised in opening statements.  This morning, both sides deliver 45-minute closing arguments, then deliberations begin. The prosecution built their case on Brian Walshe's Google searches starting at 4:52 a.m. on January 1st, 2023 — searches for how to dispose of a body, how to dismember, hacksaw recommendations, and how to clean DNA from a knife. The jury saw surveillance footage of Walshe buying hatchets, hacksaws, Tyvek suits, and cleaning supplies while wearing a surgical mask and blue gloves, paying in cash. They heard that Ana's DNA was found on the hacksaw blade with statistical certainty in the nonillions. They learned about the $2.7 million life insurance policy naming Brian as sole beneficiary, and the affair with D.C. real estate broker William Fastow — whose name Brian searched on Christmas Day 2022. Brian Walshe has already pleaded guilty to dismembering Ana's body and misleading police. He faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder. The Brian Walshe murder trial took a stunning turn Thursday morning when the defense rested without calling a single witness. Not Brian Walshe. Not their forensic experts. Not the medical professional who was supposed to explain how a healthy 39-year-old woman just drops dead in bed. Nothing. This comes just 24 hours after Walshe's attorneys told the judge he would take the stand. Instead, when asked directly by Judge Diane Freniere, Walshe confirmed: "I will not testify." After eight days of prosecution testimony and 50 witnesses, the defense offered zero counter-evidence to support the "sudden unexplained death" theory they promised in opening statements.  This morning, both sides deliver 45-minute closing arguments, then deliberations begin. The prosecution built their case on Brian Walshe's Google searches starting at 4:52 a.m. on January 1st, 2023 — searches for how to dispose of a body, how to dismember, hacksaw recommendations, and how to clean DNA from a knife. The jury saw surveillance footage of Walshe buying hatchets, hacksaws, Tyvek suits, and cleaning supplies while wearing a surgical mask and blue gloves, paying in cash. They heard that Ana's DNA was found on the hacksaw blade with statistical certainty in the nonillions. They learned about the $2.7 million life insurance policy naming Brian as sole beneficiary, and the affair with D.C. real estate broker William Fastow — whose name Brian searched on Christmas Day 2022. Brian Walshe has already pleaded guilty to dismembering Ana's body and misleading police. He faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder. I recently took a gold-standard DNA-based aging test to measure my biological age, and the experience led to a personal breakthrough I'm excited to share. I won't spoil the results here, but let's just say I was initially nervous to peek at the numbers – and what I discovered gave me a whole new perspective on my wellness journey. Why mix health and spirituality? As someone who transitioned from the fitness industry to facilitating healing retreats, I've seen firsthand that our body and spirit are deeply intertwined. In this episode, I share openly how taking care of my physical health (from diet and gut health to sleep and exercise) has been crucial for my spiritual growth and even my ability to stay calm and centered. Our health truly is the foundation that supports higher consciousness and a regulated nervous system. I also reflect on some emotional and ancestral healing experiences that have shaped me. Over the years I've worked on releasing deep-seated traumas (some that felt generations old) and felt the energy shift in powerful ways. By healing these layers and calming my nervous system, I've noticed incredible changes – including what might be a slower biological aging pace. It's a reminder that inner transformation and outer health go hand in hand. In my usual transparent style, I share all of these insights openly. I even talk about the humbling moment when my ego showed up and how facing the truth turned out to be deeply healing. It Is an Existential Threat to the American Dream.  Recently, President Trump has been quoted as referring to the affordability crisis as a “Democrat scam,” “hoax,” and “con job.” Although I think Trump was likely trying to remind Americans that policies enacted when Democrats had total control of the federal government under the first two years of the Biden administration accelerated and exacerbated the affordability problem, it is dangerous for the president to use that type of language. He discussed his efforts to bring higher wage jobs to American workers, not illegal aliens. He dismantled Obamacare, highlighting high costs and the trillions in taxpayer dollars given to insurance companies instead of the American people. President Trump went full MAGA. The  message was clear: Republicans, take this message and run with it during the 2026 midterm election cycle. President Trump tore apart Obamacare. He is tired of insurance companies lining their pockets with Obamacare subsidies, and stated once again that he wants that money sent directly to the American people. For Republicans in 2026, this is a smart policy that could excite the base in an election cycle where President Trump is not on the ballot. Healthcare across America, in many cases, is unaffordable and frustrating. This is certainly an area where the GOP can make up ground with sound policy ideas. President Trump has essentially closed our southern border by the sheer power he wields through the executive branch. The administration has now moved to tackle illegal immigration within our borders, in regards to both deportations and American jobs taken by illegal aliens.  Since President Trump took office, 100 percent of all net job creation has gone to American citizens. That is an amazing statistic that every GOP House and Senate member should be touting on the campaign trail. Not for nothing, but President Trump is also clearly tired of immigrants coming to America who do not care to fully assimilate or share our values. President Trump also announced a permanent pause on third-world migration, “including from hellholes like Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, and many other countries.” This is a very smart and, frankly, important policy. In July 1997, Michelle Moore-Bosko was murdered in the home she shared with her husband, US Navy sailor Billy Bosko. Investigators zeroed in on a suspect quickly, and despite coerced confessions and a lack of DNA evidence, four men were arrested and charged with the murder. Danial Williams, Joe Dick, Eric Wilson, and Derek Tice all recanted their “confessions”. Eventually, another suspect, Omar Ballard, who had a criminal history of very similar crimes also confessed, but that didn't stop prosecutors from going after the Norfolk Four.
