"Aller guten Dinge sind drei!" ... das dachten sich sowohl Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire)und Alex Garland (Civil War) als auch Thomas und DingDong. Die einen haben nach etlichen Jahren den dritten Teil der "28-Reihe" veröffentlicht (der übrigens zudem den Auftakt einer neuen Trilogie darstellt) und die anderen haben binnen einer Woche gleich drei Hirntot-Folgen veröffentlicht (und vier aufgenommen). In der dritten Folge "Hirntot" geht es, ihr habt es vermutlich bereits erahnt (... oder gelesen), um den frisch in den deutschen Kinos gestarteten Film 28 Years Later. Wie es der Titel bereits impliziert, ist die Handlung des Films 28 Jahre nach den folgenschweren Ereignissen aus 28 Days Later angesiedelt. Großbritannien hat sich verändert, die Art zu leben hat sich verändert und die Infizierten haben sich ebenfalls verändert. Wie genau? Das und vieles mehr verraten euch Moviebreaks passionierte Zombiejäger!
„Zwei Hirntot-Folgen innerhalb von nur einer Woche? Ja ist denn heute schon Weihnachten?!“ In der zweiten Folge "Hirntot" verschlägt es Thomas und DingDong aus gegebenem Anlass nach Großbritannien. Heute, am 19. Juni startet in den deutschen Kinos nämlich der britische Seuchenhorrorfilm 28 Years Later und so dachten sich die beiden eifrigen Zombiefreunde, dass es doch eine ganz gute Idee wäre, im Zuge dessen 28 Days Later sowie 28 Weeks Later zu besprechen. Quasi als Vorbereitung auf den neuen filmischen Ableger. Ihre großspurige Ankündigung, die Folgen unter 60 Minuten zu halten, untergraben die zwei aufgrund des Double-Features allerdings abermals. Sie geloben aber Besserung… was das auch immer heißen mag. Aber wovon handeln die Filme überhaupt? In der „28er-Reihe“ geht es um „Rage“, ein hochansteckendes Virus, dem das Potenzial innewohnt, die Menschheit ein für alle Mal auszurotten. Übertragen wird das Virus durch Körperflüssigkeiten und wer sich erst einmal infiziert hat, verwandelt sich binnen weniger Sekunden in eine rasende Bestie, die allen „Nicht-Infizierten“ nach dem Leben trachtet. Das Ende ist nah…
In Moviebreaks neuester Podcast-Ausgeburt „Hirntot“ erheben sich die Toten aus ihren Gräbern, um sich am Fleisch der Lebenden zu laben. Mit von der Partie sind Thomas und DingDong, zwei passionierte Zombieliebhaber, die zukünftig über gelungene und weniger gelungene Werke rund um wandelnde Leichen, Infektion, Reanimation, Kontamination sowie pandemische Apokalypsen sprechen werden. In der Pilotfolge geht es zunächst einmal darum, was genau ein Zombie überhaupt ist, wann er im filmischen Kontext das erste Mal in Erscheinung trat und wie die beiden zombieaffinen Quasselstrippen einst ihre Liebe für die Untoten entdeckt haben. Im Anschluss an dieses doch ein wenig ausufernde Vorgeplänkel widmet sich die Pilotfolge einem einflussreichen Kultklassiker, der sowohl das Horrorgenre maßgebend prägen als auch den Startschuss für eine regelrechte Welle an höchst ähnlichen Werken liefern sollte. Die Rede ist (natürlich) von George A. Romeros Night of the Living Dead. Ein Film, dessen Veröffentlichung nicht bloß für reichlich Aufsehen sorgte, sondern auch mit einem folgenschweren Missgeschick einherging. Wir wünschen viel Spaß!
