Alex's story is one of the wildest we've shared so far, with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss, a journey through 4 different fertility clinics and multiple rounds of IVF which ultimately led to her 'twibling' boys, born only weeks apart - one born by her surrogate and one born by herself. It's an incredible heartfelt story with many twists and turns and really great advice along the way. Canadian singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist, Chantal Kreviazuk was born in Winnipeg. She played music from a young age before signing with Columbia Records in the 1990s. Her debut studio album, Under These Rocks and Stones, was first released in Canada in 1996 and saw commercial success before being issued in the United States the following year to critical praise. Kreviazuk released two more studio albums with the Columbia la-bel, Colour Moving and Still (1999) and What If It All Means Some-thing (2002), both of which brought moderate commercial success world-wide. She signed with Sony BMG for her fourth album, Ghost Stories (2006), which reached number two on the Canadian Albums Chart. Since 2003, Kreviazuk has co-written and composed numerous songs for other artists as well as film soundtracks and has appeared in several Canadian independent and short films. Her fifth album, Plain Jane, was re-leased by Canadian independent label MapleMusic Recordings in 2009. Her most recent albums, Hard Sail and Get To You, were released by Warner Music Canada in 2016 and 2020, respectively. She also re-leased a Christmas album in 2019, called Christmas Is A Way Of Life, My Dear. From the beginning of her career to 2016, Kreviazuk was the 51st best-selling Canadian artist in Canada. Kreviazuk met Raine Maida, the lead singer of Our Lady Peace, at a Pearl Jam concert in Toronto in 1996. They married in December 1999, and have three sons, born January 2004, June 2005, and June 2008. In honour of their tenth wedding anniversary, Kreviazuk and Maida renewed their wed-ding vows in Costa Rica in November 2009. The family lives in Toronto and also has a home in the USA. Kreviazuk and Maida appeared in the 2019 documentary film I'm Going to Break Your Heart, which detailed both their collaboration on the al-bum Moon vs. Sun, their first album recorded jointly as a duo, and the conflicts and tensions that had arisen in their marriage after 19 years. Kreviazuk is a member of the Canadian charity Artists Against Racism and is also intimately involved with War Child and other charities. Janette caught-up with her on the red carpet at 10th Annual Vaughan International Film Festival (VFF) Gala Awards (where she was the featured entertainer) to talk about her three-time Juno Award winner and collaborations with several other musicians, including Drake, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Kendrick Lamar and Pink, how she sees VFF helping young artists, and what more she'd like to see for Metis & Ukrainian artists. Andrew Christopher is a Father, Husband, Singer, Songwriter, Entertainer and Host of the AC Podcast. Andrew Christopher, as he often says, is “living the dream”. He values time with his wife, 3 kids and his work as a father and husband in Ryder Lake, BC, above all else. The fact that he is able to create and perform music as a career is a result of some hard life lessons which have molded him into the artist, and man he is today. Andrew lost his daughter, Lilee-Jean, to cancer in 2013 at 2.5 years old. His dad went to jail in 2017 and was mostly absent since adolescence. A sense of responsibility to live a good life in honor of his daughter, some deep soul-searching, plant medicines, and reading a book given to him by his drummer, Dylan, changed Andrews life in a way that cannot be explained via biography. Growing up with The Beatles, Garth Brooks, piano lessons, and singing in the church choir gave Andrew a great head start in music. He played drums in band class, picked up an acoustic guitar along the way and wrote some of his first songs in high-school. After a pretty serious, but financially frustrating stint as front man in Pardon My Striptease (Pray (for LJ) #1 iTunes + top 20 99.3 “fox seeds” band) Andrew started busking on Granville island to make ends meat and build up a substantial cover song repertoire which now amasses over 500 songs. He recorded his first solo album “Gone” and busking quickly turned into warmer, dryer venues such as pubs, and private parties. His busiest year to date had him performing 274 gigs and sold over 1,000 copies of his debut album. Most recently ‘AC' has ventured into the podcast world (The AC Show, Between Sets) and started a new original project with his close friend and fellow beer lovin', hockey fanatic, family man, Jamie Rowe. Parliament of Owls (credit Jamie with the name) was a match made in heaven and is as much about family and friendship as it is songwriting. Their self-titled album has sold over 2,000 CD's. Yes, Andrew is still selling Compact discs off stage as an ode to his longing for the good ol' days, but it can also be found everywhere music is streamed. To get a glimpse of who Andrew really is you need to see him perform. You need to feel his joy, his pain and his insatiable lust for life connect with you through song. Quebec-based singer-songwriter Hubert Lenoir shot onto the scene with his debut solo album "Darlène", a glam rock psychedelic postmodern opera that was shortlisted for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize. Born in the rough neighborhood of Jane & Finch, in the Toronto area, music has always been a form of therapy for Latoya. When the streets wanted to consume her, she always had music as her escape. From the tender age of four, it was evident Latoya would be a star. However, being gifted with ample talent, it took a while for the young star to identify which skill she would hone. Though Latoya excelled as a musical artist, trials and tribulations of her surrounding environment soon caught up with her. While pursuing a career in the music industry with her extraordinary God given talent, rest assured Latoya will continue mentoring youth. As a new voice from the Canadian urban movement, she will continue to deliver her positive words at speaking engagements across Ontario. Latoya's optimal goal in life is to mark her stamp on effecting positive change. It's not only about her name; it's about her story!

Join my conversation with Nuela Charles. The 3x JUNO-Award nominated Nuela Charles is an alternative/soul singer-songwriter known for her soulful vocals and captivating stage presence, solidifying herself as a Canadian music staple. Born in Kenya, raised in Switzerland, Canada and the Bahamas before settling in Canada, Charles' music is infused with her multicultural upbringing, giving a fresh and diverse flare to her sound. Accompanying her latest single "Space," is the addition of "Nerve" - a collaboration with Don Mills multi-platinum/diamond record producer Don Mills (Giveon, Snoh Allegra, Juice WRLD), Laura Welsh (Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack) and James Edgar, the track is another example of the sass and grit that spouts from Charles' impassioned stories and sound. The song has Bond-esque strings, courtesy of JUNO nominated producer/mixer Ryan Worsley who helped finish the production, that fill the chorus in tension and a throbbing bassline which provides a backdrop for the layered, harmonious vocals. Charles explains, "As a woman, there are many empowerment songs out there, but this one takes a more sassier approach saying – don't try me, don't test me". The track is highly empowering and rich in confidence. Charles has brought her distinct voice to various stages over the last several years - having performed notably at Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, making her UK debut in London, and making her US debut at the uber-coveted "It's A School Night" by personal invitation by tastemaker and KCRW radio host Chris Douridas. Over the last year, Charles shared the stage as direct support for some of Canada's musical icons – including Sam Roberts Band, Jann Arden and Stars. Welcome Back to another episode of the Cross Border Interview Podcast. If you don’t know by now, my name is Christopher Brown and I’ll be your host. Since the launch of the podcast I’ve been asked the same thing, why do you do this podcast? And I give everyone the same answer. This podcast is about talking to people in an intimate setting and just having a discussion. Today we find ourselves often becoming keyboard warriors and have forgotten the lost art of the conversation. So with that in mid 2019 I started this podcast to achieve one goal, get people to have conversations again. With no notes, no prepared questions I sit down with subjects to learn about them, from them. Today’s guest is no exception to that. Today I sit down with Canadian Singer and Songwriter Theo Tams. Theo and I chat about his recent album ‘Call the Doctor’ and his newest single ‘The Last Song’. We also talk about his writing style, how he views the music industry today and how he is connecting with his fans in the age of COVID-19. So here now is Cross Border Interviews Ft. Theo Tams.

She certainly brings a world of experience to her passion—literally. Roxanna was born in Iran in the midst of an ongoing war with Iraq. As a child, she turned to music for balance and calm, and would phonetically mimic the English-language songs of Olivia Newton-John, performing for friends and family as if she were the famed singer, despite the fact that her hair was as dark as ONJ’s is blonde.
