This week on Nintendo Pow Block:Edward Varnell goes solo to cover a packed week of Nintendo news. McDonald's Japan had to pull its Pokémon card Happy Meal promo in just 24 hours, and scalpers showed up in full force at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships to snatch up exclusive merch for resale—leaving fans frustrated once more.Edward also chats about the chances of Tekken 8 making it to Switch 2, Bandai Namco's accidental tease of a Tales of Xillia remaster, and the surprise arrival of Chibi-Robo on the GameCube NSO Expansion Pack. It's a fun mix of esports, Pokémon chaos, and some classic Nintendo goodness. This and more on Nintendo Pow Block!Follow our Hosts: Edward Varnell, Cofounder of Boss Rush NetworkCorey Dirrig, Founder of Boss Rush Media and the Boss Rush NetworkJoin the Boss Rush Community: Join the Boss Rush Network Community DiscordFollow Boss Rush Network: Follow Boss Rush Network on X/Twitter, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and InstagramSupport Boss Rush Network:Support Boss Rush on Patreon and buy merch on our Store. In this episode of "Normal World," Dave Landau and Angela are joined by Mike Imbasciani, filling in for 1/4 Black Garrett, as the chaos kicks off with stories of exes in the woods changing colostomy bags — and only gets more hysterical from there. A Ronald McDonald statue is stolen in Pennsylvania, sparking an epic theory involving RFK Jr. and sketchy surveillance footage. Then it's off to Las Vegas, where thousands have been living in storm tunnels — until a $15 million flood project begins flushing them out. Back above ground, Philadelphia is drowning in garbage as the city's sanitation strike spirals — and somehow it all ties into a roast of Will Smith's new album, which drops just as trash piles up across the streets of his hometown. From Philly's garbage crisis to Smith's musical misfire, the three connect the cultural dots with brutal comedy. They also riff on McDonald's app culture, creepy Happy Meal toys, and '90s sitcom stars. A “Half-Assed Top 10” reimagines black James Bond titles, followed by Biden impressions and jabs at Jake Tapper and Hunter Biden's laptops. The show closes with a mentorship draft for Shedeur Sanders — now apparently under Deshaun Watson's wing. Today's guest on "Normal World" is comedian Kris Olson. This week we are celebrating all things love and we are joined by an artist I, and so many of you love, Joy Crookes. The BRIT Award nominee shot to fame with her top five debut album, Skin which gave us the absolute belters ‘Feet Don't Fail Me Now' and ‘When You Were Mine.' Now as Joy prepares for release album two in September this year - which has already given us ‘I Know You'd Kill' and ‘Carmen' - we take a look back at Joy's journey from growing up in South London doing Irish Dancing for a McDonald's Happy Meal (that's our gal!) to picking up an Argos guitar and finding her way to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. As we look back we also talk about how Joy isn't interested in being an artist who doesn't use her voice and platform, the politics of shame and the power of strangers. There is so much to take away from this chat but what I found so refreshing about this episode is how honest Joy is about how finding love made her really reflect on herself and started a mental health crisis. This really spoke to me because it isn't always a honeymoon period when you are truly seen by someone for the first time but it's so worth it in the end. If you loved this conversation with Joy as much as I did, please do get in touch as I love talking to you. You can get me on @joshsmithhosts and come back on Thursday because we will be serving you a bonus episode of the podcast with the audience questions from the show! It's an absolute hoot so you don't want to miss it! Love, Josh x P.S. I am so happy that today's episode is brought to you with the support of Pandora. “There is no traffic on the extra mile.” Creating a true “wow” experience in business isn't about massive spending—it's about shifting your mindset from transactional to memorable. That shift, done right, turns customers into evangelists. This episode unpacks how to go the extra inch, not mile, to stand out. The secret? Incentives with high perceived value and low actual cost. Whether you're a butcher, a banker, or a dentist, adding a dash of magic—what Disney calls the “plus one”—can radically transform customer loyalty and word-of-mouth success. John Dwyer, founder of The Institute of Wow, drops pure gold with dazzling real-world examples. From giving away free vacations with home loans to turning a hotel into “the chocolate strawberry hotel,” he proves how creative thinking crushes traditional advertising. He shares how a Facebook contest and an AI robot helped a dentist convert over a thousand red-hot leads—and why the Happy Meal toy is the metaphor every business needs. John Dwyer is an Australian marketing wizard and the author of The Avalanche Leads Formula. He's worked with Disney, launched viral campaigns with Jerry Seinfeld, and helps business owners implement low-cost, high-impact incentives. Hi friends, happy Tuesday! Paul Dennis Reid... aka the 'Fast Food Killer'... was a failed country singer who became one of Tennessee's most terrifying criminals in the late '90s. This man went on a deadly spree, robbing fast food spots and brutally killing several people in just a few months. His story is a mix of broken dreams, cold-blooded murder, and the chilling realization that no one is safe... not even in the place where they sell Happy Meals. Also, let me know who you want me to talk about next time. Hope you have a great rest of your week, make good choices and I'll be seeing you very soon xo Bailey Sarian I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in show.
