A Security Imperative! New research has shown that cybercrime costs are poised to grow by 15 percent per year over the next five years, reaching $10.5 trillion dollars annually by 2025. Heightened risk alongside endpoint choice, flexible workstyles and applications everywhere means that the once traditional, established trust boundaries that use perimeter security simply no longer exist. Endpoints are not “yours” anymore. Indeed, for reasons explored in this episode, a combination of vectors has now created a 'perfect risk storm'. It could therefore not be more timely to unpack these challenges - but equally move beyond these to the support that is available right now to counter the threats. And to do exactly this I am delighted to be joined by Vivek Bhandari, Senior Director of Product Marketing | Networking & Security at VMware. In particular we focus on the expanding risk landscape including threats to the operating system in multi-cloud environments and addressing these through embedding ongoing Zero Trust practices, alongside the importance of continual learning, supporting ease of security management and fostering diversity within Cyber Security teams. In this two part special, the HOW of enabling Business Agility and embedded Capacity to Innovate is centre stage, and with an inspiring focus on Human Centric change. We are joined by Brad Mallard, CTO for Northern West Europe at Fujitsu and a member of Fujitsu's Global CTO Office, and Nick Herbert, Head of Portfolio Applications and Multicloud at Fujitsu for an immersive conversation - so content packed we extended across these two episodes! In Part 2, we continue our deep dive on today's agile imperative, firstly focussing on the nature of space and evolution of more decentralised ways of working across organisational structures and ecosystems that need to be increasingly fluid by design. In particular, we explore the impact of remote/hybrid working on inclusion and diversity, alongside productivity, mindfulness, creativity and ultimately happiness levels too. The very essence of fostering share value and creating a sustainable people based business! We also focus in on skills, from data and technology literacy, to skills confidence. We consider gaps being experienced by many organisations today and how best to develop a learning culture, supporting people on their personal journeys and moving from STEM to STEAM to help grow possibly the most important skill of our time - curiosity! Brad and Nick share some fantastic examples of this support in action at Fujitsu, especially empowering the behavioural element of learning by doing or learning through experience, and this extends to customers who in turn become authentic natural advocates. And we also unpack the impact of emergent technologies on the evolution of work, especially regards AI and Automation and on delivering a faster 'time to value' supported by a more iterative approach to change management, shared language and shared purpose. Our collective take focusses on the purpose to which technology is applied and showcases the complementary strengths of human-machine partnership, with inspiring examples of this across community collaboration, social value and sustainability. Indeed, rather than framing the future as one of technology centric innovation, we change the narrative to place the spotlight on human centric innovation, empowered by tech instead! We are joined by Brad Mallard, CTO for Northern West Europe at Fujitsu and a member of Fujitsu's Global CTO Office, and Nick Herbert, Head of Portfolio Applications and Multicloud at Fujitsu for an immersive conversation - so content packed we extended into two episodes! In Part 1 we deep dive into what Agility really means from both an organisational and individual perspective, and across technology, culture, people, processes and skills, including both the opportunities and challenges encountered on the way. And with tangible examples across business and societal impact too, including cutting edge Tech For Good research collaborations within AI and Healthcare - absolutely inspiring! We explore what has changed, especially customer behaviours and expectations on the 'art of the possible', sustainable business and criticality of purpose, and the key challenges from the 'data deluge' to issues of fragmentation, legacy technical debt, complexity, security, ethical AI development, and skills literacy gaps. This brings to the fore the vital role of data, its democratisation and enabling active not reactive intelligence, and the key technologies that are enabling success notably Cloud Computing, Cloud Native, Conversational AI, NLP and APIs. And all of the above must be supported by skills investment alongside process and change management approach evolution with greater ecosystem collaboration too, especially in areas such as Explainable AI - vital to build that core currency of our time - trust.
