Nothing beats the good old backlink. Whatever Googlers say, there is nothing more powerful than a link in your SEO Toolbox: The effects of Social Signals for SEO has been debated in length. Snackable Marketing - Dype Podcast | SEO, Amazon Advertising & Co.
The Riches are in the niches Ein Wikipedia 2.0 funktioniert nicht mehr.

Hi everyone, this is Digital Abhi, your digital marketing friend and in this episode of "Voice of Digital Abhi", I am going to discuss what is Off-Page SEO. Along with that, I will also share the top 3 Ranking Factors for Off-Page Optimization. - The topics discussed in this episode are: (00:00) Intro (00:24) What is Off Page SEO? | (01:00) Importance of Off Page SEO (01:29) Factors affecting Off Page SEO (01:40) Links or Backlinks (02:48) Social Signals (03:18) Authority or Brand - What is Off-Page SEO? Now coming back to the question, what is Off-Page SEO? It includes the external factors and actions which affect your rankings in the search results. Most of these factors are beyond your control. For example, the backlinks to your website or webpage. Or the social signals like how many people are sharing your content. As you cannot control if someone wants to link back to your website or not. Similarly, you cannot control how many people will share your content. And since all this happens outside the website, it is also called Off-site SEO. But what is the need for Off-Page SEO? Why is it important? We know that search engines are user-centric. They want to provide the best experience to their users. And off-page SEO factors help them decide which website to show in search results. How? It is all about off-site signals. If a particular website has more authority in a particular niche. Or maybe having more social sharing. Or maybe having better links, then that site is going to rank higher than the one with weaker off-site signals. - Watch this episode on YouTube: What is Off Page SEO? Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.08.25.267278v1?rss=1 Authors: Lee, W., Dowd, H. N., Nikain, C., Dwortz, M. F., Yang, E. D., Curley, J. P. Abstract: Competent social functioning of group-living species relies on the ability of individuals to detect and utilize conspecific social cues to guide behavior. In many species, cues about an individual's identity, including social status, are conveyed through urinary proteins. Previous studies have identified numerous brain regions involved in processing these external cues, collectively referred to as the Social Decision-Making Network. However, how the brain encodes social information with respect to an individual's internal social status has not been thoroughly examined. Here we show that neuronal activity in male mice, as indicated by cFos immunoreactivity, is modulated by the social status and familiarity of the cue source and the subject's own social status. The posteroventral medial amygdala was the only brain region that responded exclusively to the social status of the cue source. Activity in other brain regions was modulated by social status. Specifically, within the brain of dominant subjects there was robust differential activity dependent on the status or familiarity of the cue source. Our results suggest that individuals perceive social cues differently depending on their social experience. These data inform further the investigation of neurobiological mechanisms underlying social-status related brain differences and how social status-associated differences influence physiology and behavior.

Social signals are becoming more and more important as substantiators of the legitimacy of incoming links to your website so it is important to consider that each piece of content has not just incoming links but social attributions. John helps us understand this subject with Tammy Kahn Fennell, CEO of MarketMeSuite, which speicalizes in getting the message out about your content while creating handling the touchy etiquette of social engagement.

We're coming up to the fifth anniversary of the Social Signal blog. So it's fitting that this Bedtime with Rob and Alex podcast looks at the heart of what we do: developing strategies for participation. And this time out, we're looking at strategies for smaller organizations (both in budget and membership). We cover: whether you should build your own community or plant a flag somewhere like Facebook how to motivate participation, especially when you can't draw on a big audience for your community some of the myths you need to let go of ("But my membership is different! I just know they'll come and participate!") to plan a successful social media venture just what that blue stuff from France is. Enjoy - and let us know your thoughts.
It's the start of our favourite season here at Social Signal: the run-up to Valentine's Day. For us, it's a celebration of love, togetherness and community. And what better way to express that togetherness than through a podcast? That's why we're launching a new experiment, Bedtime with Rob and Alex. It's a podcast that captures the knowledge, insights and passions of our online community and Web 2.0 explorations -- whether that involves a new way of looking at online collaboration, or a new piece of software for looking at online pictures. As partners in both bedroom and boardroom, we get to explore these questions 24/7. (Don't you talk about RSS aggregation after your baby wakes you up at 3 a.m.?) But we've long noticed that our most creative, wide-ranging conversations often happen at the very end of the day, as we're comparing notes or sharing what got us most excited. (Not that kind of excited. Usually.)And now we're ready to see whether our king-size bed has enough room for two adults, two kids, a dog and an iPod. For the next ten days (just until Valentine's Day!) Bedtime with Rob and Alex will share our conversations as we wind down. Check it out and let us know whether what happens in the bedroom should stay in the bedroom, or whether you're enjoying the chance to eavesdrop. Our first episode, What's missing from the Web 2.0 menu? (recorded February 4th) asks why there are still unmet needs amidst the overabundance of social web applications. Would Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Yahoo! help fill in these gaps....or erode the quality of existing solutions? You can subscribe here. Tune in and let us know what you think!P.S. For those of you who are curious about Alex's solution for menu-planning on the Mac (as discussed in the podcast), it's a program called YummySoup. It lets you import recipes from sites like Epicurious and Martha Stewart, and turn ingredient lists into grocery lists.

Justin Lofton - SyncSumo 8 was fixing bikes At 11 had a landscaping business At 14 worked at McDonald's - saw systems Blue collar and white collar Was a plumber and became a Cisco Engineer In 1998 started selling supplements online Had success early on when the internet was new. Building HTML sites Buying traffic on Overture before Google Moved into presales and sales at Cisco Fell in love with marketing Lead a team of engineers Got into consulting Was learning the Google algorithm Was helping offline businesses get online Was like a CMO for some small businesses and helped them 2x and 3x their business Started Fresh Agency in 2011. Provided SEO services Was able to massage it and had great success Started using Infusionsoft in 2007. Clients were looking for traffic and he was able to deliver it. Saw the role of Social Media Marketing coming up and branched into that. In 2013 when Infusionsoft got their $54 million from Goldman Sachs he saw things changing and wanted to move upstream but since he loves working with smaller businesses he was excited to see Goldman put so much confidence in Infusionsoft Launched ZenFusion in May of 2014 helping Infusionsoft users generate traffic. Got his hands into Facebook advertising and it's a switch from SEO to Facebook for leads and retargeting and people hanging out. His revenue went from 90% SEO to Facebook. Guys like Kiosaki and Tony Robbins teach you to always be open to opportunities and say “no” to most of them but let the seeds germinate so you know when to make a decision. The technician in him wants to do it all himself. You need to know where your time is best spent. Find people that can help you get to your goals faster but that's not always easy or affordable. Try to barter when you can. Do joint ventures. ZenFusion will become the UpWork for high value consultants. That's a big switch from his original structure of the company. He has had great success with workers in The Philippines. The language barrier has been tough with workers in India. He still has to go through 5-10 to get the right person. Having US-based workers has worked out best overall. He keeps his teams separate so he has a SyncSumo and a ZenFusion team. 2016 will be a great year for businesses to put business automation in place. All businesses can benefit. Relationship Marketing and Relationship Advertising is where the market is heading. Facebook and their newsfeed is a way for businesses to hang out with their clients and the friends and family of their clients. You're not really interrupting them like a TV ad. That's not as easy to do in SEO but Google is working on that with Customer Match and YouTube. Social Signals can get you big SEO results from the sharing. BlogMutt??? Do you understand your audience? Are you providing value to your market? What assumptions are you making that may not be right? Are you doing a good job of looking at your market as an outsider? People want to consume content that improves their lives. When you know what that is you'll know the medium to use to educate them. All of his services were offered month-to-month. He would do an hour-long pre-sales call and give great value up front before he took on a client. He'd give free resources to them so everyone won, even if they didn't hire him. Funnel. Offer. Offline to Online. Lots of prep work needed before you go into paid advertising. Maybe 1 in 30 were ready for his services when he started ZenFusion. He narrowed his search to prospects that at least had a funnel in place. Don't make assumptions. It's why Justin took a lot of calls in the beginning to see what the market wanted and needed. That lead to his 3-step process you now follow to speak with him. The power of simply responding to leads with automation is powerful. The 80/20 rule still applies and helps you be more efficient.
