Dwell time, the time in which it takes for a cleaning product to work on a targeted material in art conservation, serves as a profound metaphor for the immigrant experience in author Rosa Lowinger's book of the same name. "Dwell Time: A Memoir of Art, Exile, and Repair", begins with Rosa's family's escape from Jewish persecution to their new home in Cuba, and then eventually to their new life in America, sharing how these experiences laid the foundation for her career in art conservation. Inspired by Primo Levi, Rosa's memoir is uniquely organized around different conservation materials, blending her professional expertise with deeply personal stories. Art isn't just about aesthetics; it's a powerful storyteller and a cornerstone of community identity. In today's episode, we're uncovering critical vulnerabilities in popular Chinese pinyin keyboard apps, exploring a substantial privacy breach with Ring's camera system, and diving into the global improvements in cybersecurity detection times. Join us as we decode the digital world, keeping your data safe and your curiosity alive. Our journey begins with a startling revelation from Citizen Lab. Over 1 billion users of popular Chinese pinyin keyboard apps are at a crossroads, facing the risk of having their keystrokes decrypted. Among the inspected vendors - Baidu, Honor, Huawei, iFlytec, Oppo, Samsung, Tencent, Vivo, and Xiaomi - most apps remain a breach waiting to happen, with network eavesdroppers able to exploit vulnerabilities passively. How can users shield themselves against such invasive threats? Turning off cloud-based services and opting for a more secure keyboard ecosystem are steps in the right direction. Next, we delve into the breach that shook trust to its core - Ring's privacy debacle. A staggering 5.6 million in refunds are being distributed to affected customers, a move prompted by the Federal Trade Commission after unauthorized access of private video feeds came to light. The case brings to the forefront the critical need for robust security measures in IoT devices, especially those designed for security like cameras. How did Ring respond to the breach, and what can consumers learn from this incident to protect their own digital footprints? On a brighter note, global security saw an inspiring leap forward in 2023. Organizations now detect intrusions in a median of 10 days, a significant improvement from the previous 16 days in 2022. This progress indicates a strengthening in defense mechanisms against cyber threats. But with ransomware and zero-day exploits on the rise, how can organizations maintain this momentum and ensure the safety of our digital realms? Additionally, the emergence of large language models like OpenAI introduces new dynamics in both defense and offense within cybersecurity. These powerful tools aid in the development of new technologies and the fast analysis of vast datasets. However, the unrestricted usage by attackers versus the ethical constraints on defenders presents unique challenges. How will this play out in the evolving cybersecurity landscape? If you're here, you're probably aware that LinkedIn is an absolute goldmine for your business. Or at least it should be. Unfortunately, most B2B companies that post content on LinkedIn, still struggle to generate consistent inbound leads and new clients from their content. I've spent the last several years consistently winning clients on LinkedIn (Through content) and have helped dozens and dozens of companies do the same. I hold nothing back in this video and provide the exact blueprint on how to dominate LinkedIn in 2024 and beyond! If you're ready to start seeing real inbound leads and revenue through your LinkedIn content, get ready to start taking some notes here! Here are just some of the key takeaways you'll get from watching this video: 1.) How to Craft a Winning LinkedIn Content Strategy Understanding Your Audience: Your content needs to resonate deeply with your audience on multiple levels. Begin by categorizing your potential clients into two groups: those unaware of their problem and those seeking solutions. Tailor your content to address these specific stages of their journey. Content That Converts: Shift from promoting your products to focusing on what your dream clients need to see. What content would make them find you credible and trustworthy? What information would nudge them towards taking the next step with your business? Reverse Engineering Success: Study the content strategies of successful businesses. Often, they prioritize value and relevance over direct promotion. Emulate this approach to engage your target audience effectively. 2.) Learn the exact type of content to post in order to attract your dream clients Text Posts: While easy and quick to create, text posts have limitations. They're great for sharing quick insights but lack the depth required for building strong relationships. Use them wisely to share thought leadership and industry insights. Visual Storytelling: Images and graphics add an emotional layer to your content. Whether it's a story about your business journey or client success stories, visuals make your content more engaging and relatable. Video Content: The most powerful tool in your LinkedIn arsenal. Videos allow you to showcase your expertise and personality. Keep them short, engaging, and packed with value right from the start. 3.) How to Master the LinkedIn Algorithm Engagement and Community: Unlike platforms with interest-based algorithms, LinkedIn prioritizes content based on your network and engagement. Actively engage with your connections to increase the visibility of your posts. Dwell Time and Interaction: The LinkedIn algorithm values the time spent on your content and the depth of interactions. Encourage meaningful conversations in your comments section to boost engagement. 4.) Generating Inbound Leads with Strategic Content Targeted Content Creation: Select content that directly speaks to the needs of your dream clients. Whether it's a story, a how-to guide, or an educational piece, make sure it's tailored to your target audience. Effective CTAs: Your call to action should be compelling and low-commitment but high in value. This could range from a free audit to an exclusive webinar. 5.) How to Measure Your Success on LinkedIn Qualitative vs. Quantitative Metrics: In the initial stages, focus on qualitative feedback like comments and DMs that show engagement. As your strategy matures, shift your focus to quantitative metrics like lead generation and revenue impact. 6.) Personal vs Company Pages (Which should you be leveraging most?) Leverage your personal page for greater reach and engagement, while using your company page for broader content distribution and brand reinforcement. As an American citizen prior to joining the military, I had this feeling that, once you completed military training, you'd feel like a different type of person; you'd be a solider. As a solider... you'd be completely unafraid and able to go out and interact with these types of things." - Austin Green Follow us on social media! Allan Liska —Threat Intelligence Analyst at Recorded Future, the Ransomware Sommelier, and a guy with a mildly exciting expense account Allan Liska is a Threat Intelligence Analyst at Recorded Future. In this episode, Allan returns to No Password Required to talk with Carlton Fields Attorney Jack Clabby and KnowBe4's Kayley Melton about his experiences in the ever-evolving battlefield of cyber threats, what has changed in ransomware since his first time on the show, and his perspective on the power of AI in the battle against cyber threats. He also updates us on his passion project: the upcoming release of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar comic book. In this thrilling new venture, Allan breathes new life into iconic insurance investigator Johnny Dollar by casting him in a role that hits close to home: a ransomware investigator. The best part was that he gifted the No Password Required team the chance to act out a scene from the comic. Jack and Kayley also talk about the dismantling of Qakbot, marking one of the largest-ever U.S.-led enforcement actions against a botnet (and also marking one of the best U.S. mission titles - Operation Duck Hunt.) The median dwell time (the time between infection and you finding out you have ransomware) is 23 days, and the average is around 90.

How to turn interrupted attention into intentional attention: We want our audience to block out the noise and distractions around them and focus on what you have to say as a brand. We mentioned that one way to do it is to direct them away from their social media feeds and onto your website. How much time are they spending on your site? Why is it important to know this? Well, the more time they spend on your site, the more information they’re consuming and the better understanding they have of what you have to offer them. So, how do we keep them on our site? Here’s 5 practical tips that we’ve learnt over the years: Keep it clean & simple. Be very selective and strategic about what you’re going to put on your website. Make sure that there’s enough white space for people’s eyes to rest in between the bits of information. 1 sentence at a time. Use line breaks after each sentence. Increase the body font size. We’d recommend front size 20-22. Use simple language. Don’t be fancy, keep it simple and easy to understand. A young child should be able to understand your messaging. Decrease your loading speed! Every second is valuable. Make it as frictionless as possible for people to spend time on your website.

Chaos in the emergency department is common. How to fix it is not always clear. Mary P. Mercer, MD, MPH, from the University of California, San Francisco, discusses how they successfully fixed their long dwell times at the emergency department at San Francisco General Hospital. Their solution was to create a fast-track unit that managed low-acuity patients separately from the rest of the emergency department cases. The most important aspect of this quality improvement effort was the ongoing and regular engagement of executives from the medical center with frontline staff. Especially for healthcare IT systems, cyber attacks can lead to the exposure of patient data, service disruptions, time-consuming recovery processes, and high costs in the form of paying a ransom or spending money on new servers, security systems, or consultants. However, that is only when an organization is aware of the breach. Some network breaches can go on for months or even years before an organization learns about it, and these can even be organizations that take information security very seriously with compliance requirements, appropriate budgets, and talented security personnel. The time elapsed between the initial breach of a network by an attacker and the discovery of that breach by the victim “dwell time” or the “breach detection gap.” In this podcast, LBMC Information Security’s Bill Dean discusses attacker dwell time and some methods that can be implemented to address it. Listen in, and learn about these key takeaways: Advanced attacks will often circumvent traditional static protections. This provides the ability for extensive “dwell time” of attackers on your network. Put in place additional network controls. If malware cannot communicate out, it cannot operate. “Hunt” for previously undetected malware on your systems.
Video Marketing Mastery with Todd Hartley: Online Video Strategy | YouTube Tips | Video Production
Imagine someone scrolling through Facebook’s News Feed on their phone. Between funny animal videos, news stories, and posts by friends and family, they pause on your carefully targeted ad. Perhaps they notice the clever copy, or they resonate with your video’s message. And although your Facebook ad caught their eye amongst the noise, they didn’t engage. No likes. No comments. They didn’t even click-through. In reality, that person expressed some level of interested in your product or service, but traditional metrics had now way of reflecting that. That’s why Facebook created dwell time. Dwell time accounts for the time a user lingers over your ad. This valuable information now gives marketers access to helpful projected metrics like Estimated Ad Recall Lift, Estimated Ad Recall Lift Rate, and Cost Per Estimated Ad Recall Lift. If you’re thinking about running Facebook ads, Dwell time is a metric you won’t want to overlook. To learn more about this new way to measure results — plus the latest in video marketing news — then tune into this episode of Video Marketing Mastery!
It’s a new year and I’m in the mood to Get Things Done. Episode #003 discusses the concept of ‘dwell time’, and I ask how you try to reduce it. Or should you dwell more for creativity’s sake?!
As crazy as it sounds, people still actually go into stores to shop. I know, right? The challenge for the stores is that there is a small window of time to convert those browsers into buyers while they are in the store itself. A recent survey by euclid looks at traffic conversion for stores as well as how long they dwell and how quickly they exit. It is all summarized right here in under 2 minutes.
Retailers are doing a better job of bringing shoppers into their stores according to Euclid Analytics. This is GREAT news right? Well...Most shoppers are more educated, make targeted decisions while in the store and leave much faster. Great news if you understand what they want and how to provide that experience. Not so great news if you are burying your head in the sand like many are doing.
