The king welcomes Marc Morano, publisher of ClimateDepot.com, and author of The Great Reset: Global Elites and the Permanent Lockdown. While proponents of the Great Reset push slogans like “Build Back Better,” “The Fourth Industrial Revolution,” and “A New Normal,” the Reset is nothing short of a rebranded Soviet system, threatening to strip away property rights, restrict freedom of movement and association, and radically reshape our diets and way of life. Marc unveils the origins of the Great Reset, who is behind it, how it is being implemented, and how COVID-19 and the alleged “climate emergency” accelerated its imposition on the United States. Indiecast may have ceaseless banter about The 1975 and band leader Matty Healy's antics — Steven and Ian even dedicated an entire episode to it — but now that the band has released their latest album Being Funny In A Foreign Language, have they finally written a project that lives up to the hype? On this week's episode, Steven and Ian share their thoughts on The 1975's return (33:07) and the new, ultra-vulnerable album ILYSM by Wild Pink (46:22).If you're an indie fan who happened to be online at all this week, you'll know that the biggest indie news story came from Blink-182 (:24). Original member and alien enthusiast Tom DeLonge announced he's officially rejoining the band and that they're embarking on a massive (and quite expensive) tour. Plus, Steven and Ian discuss why so many bands seem to be canceling their tours lately (11:47).In this week's Recommendation Corner (57:33), Ian mentions Gris Klein's album Birds In Row, the post-hardcore band's third album in 10 years. Meanwhile, Steven shouts out Brian Eno and Bill Callahan and tells listeners to check out Wisconsin band Disq's new album Desperately Imagining Someplace Quiet.New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Disq - "Cujo Kiddies" from the 2022 album Desperately Imagining Someplace Quiet on Saddle Creek. Wisconsin-based quintet Disq are releasing their sophomore record Desperately Imagining Someplace Quiet this Friday two years after dropping their debut Collector. Our Song of the Day and the album's lead single “Cujo Kiddies” emphasizes the band's ability to craft eclectic art rock but is also a deeply personal song for vocalist/bassist Raina Bock. In a lengthy statement, Bock had this to say about the song: “I wanted to make a song that sounded like a freight train full of clowns and silly toys, barreling through the dark, observing and taking note of the various gloomy landscapes of my brain (without dwelling too long or taking any of it too seriously).I wrote the first half of ‘Cujo' from deep inside the hole of substance abuse and loneliness. The song was meant to function as a blueprint for how I wished my reality could look. Six months later, sitting in an ocean of boxes all packed up for what would be my fourth time moving that year, I wrote the second half. The experience inspired what I hope to be my lifelong approach to songwriting going forward… To write songs not with the goal of reflecting on where I am at a given moment, but as a tool to pull myself out of the way things are and toward the way I'd like them to be.I wrote ‘Cujo Kiddies' for nobody else's ears but my own, so while it is now making its way out into a strange world where I am not the only living person on earth, I truly from the bottom of my heart hope you all enjoy— but if you don't, rest easy in knowing that it is no skin off the author's back either way. This song has already done everything I could have ever hoped it would.” Disq will be in Seattle on Tuesday, December 6th to play Barboza with opening support from local band Sea Lemon.

And thanks to the pandemic, it’s anyone’s guess when you’ll get to see any of these artists live again, so consider supporting them by buying their music online.Give the conversation a listen here, or subscribe to the Tone Madison podcast on Apple Podcasts. If you like what you're hearing, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts and consider supporting us financially with a one-time or recurring donation. And please check out our sister podcasts, Record Store Dropouts and Digital Warmth.

It's the end of 2019 which has been an utterly fantastic year for music (possibly at the expense of everything else...) so as is traditional, here's our annual best of the year extravaganza! We count down our favourite 30 songs of the year, plus we discuss songs that didn't quite make it, our favourite gigs of the year and also music we've discovered this year that didn't come out in 2019. It's basically like Top Of The Pops but with way more music from the former USSR...To explain how the voting works, we each picked our 10 favourite songs of the year, then in secret ranked our own out of 10 and the remaining songs from the other two's selections out of 20 (so the highest possible score would be 50 points if all three of us were unanimous on our favourite song and the lowest possible score would be 3 points). Ian's wife Lydia distributed the lists to each of us and then Colin's wife Helen added all the points up and sealed them in envelopes so we didn't find out the order until we were recording and all the reactions you hear are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three seperate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of the year.Bands featured in this episode include (in alphabetical order, you'll find no spoilers here!) - 1914, American Football, Julien Baker, Better Oblivion Community Center, Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Charly Bliss, Cult Of Luna, Czarface Vs Ghostface Killah, Lucy Dacus, Daughter, Disq, Bille Eilish, Mark Eitzel, Ghost, Max Govan, Grebz, Halfsour, Ho99o9, The Interrupters, KAUAN, Laibach, Jenny Lewis, Middle Kids, Mildlife, The Moth Gatherer, Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky, The National, Oh Hiroshima, Opeth, Amanda Palmer, Porridge Radio, Refused, The Regrettes, Emma Ruth Rundle, Saudade, Seazoo, Sigrid, Taylor Swift, Tatarka, Devin Townsend, TOY, Tropical F*ck Storm, The Twilight Sad, Sharon Van Etten, Viagra Boys, WozniakThe spotify playlist for our best of the year list is at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6sodrbToM7q1ZObdzf4Ubh?si=r8TG81A2QA25e0tyIRwnjA and our songs discovered in 2019 list is at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3Vs7pPqDoE6J62MRP8cqrF?si=dIRMomoNSPWkZ7bHBFGAcg.as always, we'd love to hear what you think, you can talk to us on www.facebook.com/wedigmusicpcast or on www.twitter.com/wedigmusicpcast .plus you can find all our other episodes and podcasts at www.wedigpodcasts.com.Merry Christmas, massive thanks to everyone who's listened or interacted with us in any way in 2019. it's 2020 in just over a week, how the hell did that happen. stay with us and help us as we ignore our existential crisises (crisiseseses?) by talking utter rubbish about music we love!

Record Store Dropouts is a music-adjacent podcast for music-adjacent people. On their quest for good conversation and trivial knowledge, hosts Shaun Soman and Alex Nelson explore how visual objects (e.g., album covers, music videos) are made and the extent to which they inform the listening experience. Having collectively worked at, erm, one different record store over three months, Shaun and Alex complement their "expertise" by inviting musicians, visual artists, and writers to discuss how music has influenced their work.On their first episode, Shaun and Alex reflect on Santigold's debut album (1:29) before Native Essence Art creator Natalie Ergas drops by to discuss her artistic process (16:09), what’s on her Western zodiac energy playlist (28:17), and how collage functions in Santigold’s discography (41:03).The podcast's theme music is "Communication" by a cool Madison band called Disq, which has also played the song at a venue and arts incubator called Communication, Tone Madison's physical home. Shaun and Alex understand "Communication" isn't about Communication, but they like to believe otherwise. Thanks again to Disq and Saddle Creek Records for the use of the song.If you happen to be in Madison the day this episode drops,—Friday, May 3—Ergas will be celebrating an art opening at Robinia Courtyard, 829 East Washington Ave.
