⚠️ Content WarningThis episode contains open discussions about gambling addiction, alcohol and drug use, domestic violence and suicide. Please take care of yourself first. If you're not in the right headspace, come back to this one when you're ready. There is no rush.If you need support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (available 24/7) or visit lifeline.org.auThis week I sat down with Luke Bateman, and this was one of those chats that covered so much ground I genuinely didn't want it to end.Luke played 71 NRL games for the Canberra Raiders before injury and his own mental health forced him to step away from the game. What most people don't know is that behind the footy career, Luke was fighting a serious gambling addiction that ended up costing him around $500,000 over four years, alongside struggles with alcohol and drugs. He's been incredibly open about how that addiction took hold, what it cost him, and what it actually took to get out the other side.We also got into something Luke is really passionate about right now. Ahead of State of Origin Games 2 and 3, Luke is using his platform to call out the link between alcohol, masculinity and violence, with research showing a 40% rise in domestic violence incidents on State of Origin nights. We talk about why he believes alcohol and gambling advertising in sport needs the same scrutiny we've seen applied to tobacco, and why this conversation matters so much to him.And then there's the part of Luke's story that surprised everyone. From hiding fantasy novels in the toilet as a tough country kid playing first grade footy, to becoming one of the biggest names on BookTok and signing a two-book fantasy series deal with Atria Books. It's a brilliant reminder that it's never too late to embrace who you really are. This one covers addiction, advocacy, masculinity and reinvention. Luke is honest, switched on, and using his voice for something that really matters. In this episode we cover:Luke's journey through the NRL with the Canberra RaidersThe gambling addiction that cost him around $500,000 over four yearsHis struggles with alcohol and drug use during his playing careerWhat recovery actually looked like for himThe culture in elite sport around gambling and drinkingThe link between alcohol, masculinity and domestic violenceThe 40% rise in family violence incidents during State of OriginCalls to tighten alcohol advertising regulation, similar to gambling and tobaccoHiding his love of fantasy novels as a kid on a cattle propertyBecoming a BookTok sensation and signing his Atria Books dealWhy storytelling and reading matter for boys and menThe numbers behind this conversation:Alcohol is involved in up to 47% of all police-reported family violence incidents47% of women sexually assaulted by a man in the past decade said alcohol or another substance contributed to the most recent incidentResearch shows a 40% increase in violence towards women and children in NSW on State of Origin game nightsState of Origin Game 3 — Wed 8th JulyIf this episode brought something up for you:

Mediation With a Narcissist: What Actually Works

    Been There Got Out Podcast

If you've been told that mediation is impossible when you're dealing with a high-conflict ex—or that it's never safe when there's been domestic violence—this conversation with New York family law attorney Ian Steinberg is going to challenge that assumption.Ian is a matrimonial attorney with Burkman Botker Newman & Shane, a 25-attorney firm based in Manhattan with offices in Westchester and Long Island. He joins Lisa Johnson of Been There Got Out for his second appearance on the show, and this time the focus is entirely on mediation—what it is, what it isn't, and how to navigate it when your ex has a history of coercive control, manipulation, or abuse. The family court system is broken. Ian doesn't sugarcoat that. The system wasn't designed to handle what targeted parents deal with every day, and being forced into litigation often just gives an abusive ex another arena to exert power. That's why understanding your alternatives—including the different forms of mediation—matters so much.In this episode, Ian breaks down a distinction that most people don't know exists: Capital M Mediation versus lowercase m mediation.Capital M is the classic format—just you, your ex, and a neutral third party working toward agreement. Lowercase m covers a broader range of attorney-assisted, structured alternatives that can be more appropriate when power imbalances are a serious concern. He also introduces something Lisa and Chris have seen work with their own clients: the use of retired family court judges as mediators. These aren't people with formal mediation authority—but they bring decades of experience sitting on the bench, and sometimes that gravitas is exactly what it takes to get a controlling ex to actually listen and move.If you are a domestic violence survivor wondering whether mediation is even an option for you, Ian's answer is: sometimes yes, if the right guardrails are in place. He's clear about when it shouldn't happen—when the power dynamic is so extreme that you simply can't withstand it, or when the conflict is too fresh to be productive. But he also explains the tools that can make it safer, including virtual Zoom-based shuttle negotiation, where the parties never have to share a screen or a room. Before you walk into any mediation session, Ian says three things matter most: talk to your attorney beforehand, work with your coach to manage your emotions and know your triggers, and make a clear list of your asks. And remember—nothing is final until you put pen to paper. You are allowed to say, “This sounds interesting. Let me think about it and speak to my attorney.” That is not weakness. That is informed consent. The cost savings of resolving even some issues through mediation can be staggering. Every issue you settle is one that doesn't have to be litigated. Going from ten contested issues to two is real progress—and it also signals to the court that you've made a genuine effort to cooperate, which matters.Whether mediation is right for you depends on your specific situation. That's why working with coaches who understand high-conflict dynamics—and who can help you prepare strategically—is so valuable. How can we support survivors of domestic violence and their children without the child welfare system? State intervention often forces survivors into impossible choices: remain in a harmful situation to keep their children or engage with a legal system that might use their trauma as evidence of an unstable home.In this episode, we sit down with Ashley De Anna Albert, an abolitionist, writer, and survivor of intimate partner violence whose children were taken by CPS. Ashley has transformed her own pain into powerful advocacy through Stolen Children's Month and her work leading healing justice circles that remind us no family is disposable.Together, we talk about how survivors are punished instead of supported, how the family policing system connects to other forms of systemic violence, and what it means to imagine a future where survivors are met with care, resilience, and community, instead of surveillance and separation.About Our Guest: Ashley De Anna Albert is an abolitionist working to dismantle the family policing system and its ties to mass incarceration. Through her advocacy, writing, and healing justice circles, she uplifts the voices of parents impacted by child removal and challenges the racialized harms of foster care, adoption, and termination of parental rights. Her work centers on building community-based alternatives rooted in care, resilience, and the belief that no family is disposable. Episode Notes: Support the work of upEND: upendmovement.org/donateEpisode Transcript: upendmovement.org/podcast/episode305Read “Reclaiming Safety”: upendmovement.org/safety Learn more about the campaign to Repeal CAPTA.Read “Owning Your Story, Claiming Your Power” by Ashley Albert. Learn more about Stolen Children's Month, the annual movement in June honoring families separated by family policing and other carceral systems. Learn more about Ashley's work as the founder of Intuned Consulting.

The challenging field of family law is a vital part of the litigation profession, demanding an understanding of both the law and the psychological trauma that can dramatically affect the well-being of children and others caught in the middle. Guest Ashish Joshi is a Michigan attorney and author who has devoted his career to helping those struggling through the most difficult situations imaginable. Family violence, coercion, and control are, unfortunately, a huge and often under recognized part of our legal reality. The field of family law can include issues including parental alienation, child abduction, the weaponization of children and their relationships with sparring parents, gaslighting and manipulation, and even complicated adjacent areas of law such as hidden assets, stalking, and pet abuse. Family law litigation requires a complex skill set and mental toughness, but it's a vital part of our lives. Joshi shares how practicing in the field involves working with people going through the worst period of their lives, the protection of innocent and powerless victims, and the field of psychology and human behavior. Looking for a challenge and the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life? Family law litigation is a demanding and rewarding field. If you've ever found yourself paralyzed by the fear that your ex is slowly turning your children against you and there's nothing you can do about it, this conversation is for you.In this episode of Been There Got Out, Lisa Johnson sits down with Dr. Alicia del Prado, a licensed counseling psychologist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, to talk about one of the most painful experiences a parent can go through: parental alienation. But rather than focusing only on what's happening, Dr. del Prado brings her clinical expertise to what you can actually do — specific, grounded strategies to prevent alienation from taking hold, minimize its impact when it has already started, and stay psychologically intact through all of it.One of the most important things she says: fear is a filter. When we're operating from that deep, primal terror of losing our kids, we make decisions that can actually make things worse — not because we're bad parents, but because our nervous system is in survival mode. Understanding that is the first step toward changing it.WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE:✅ What parental alienation actually is — and why it affects an estimated 22 million divorced and separated parents in the US and Canada alone✅ Why feeling hopeless about parental alienation is understandable — and what to focus on instead✅ How fear acts as a "filter" that distorts your decisions and what to do about it without suppressing your emotions✅ The most common misconceptions people have about alienation — both from inside the situation and from the outside✅ How to support a friend or family member going through parental alienation without saying the wrong thing✅ How to use your child's love language to stay connected even when they're pushing you away✅ What to do when your child screams at you, ignores you, or says they hate you✅ The micro goals framework: how to keep showing up consistently even when you see no results✅ Why children in these situations usually do come back — and what gives them the courage toTIMESTAMPS:00:00 — Introduction: Why we're revisiting this conversation (audio issues from previous recording)01:10 — What parental alienation actually is: a definition from a clinical psychologist02:30 — The 22 million statistic: how widespread parental alienation really is03:15 — Dr. del Prado's personal background and why this topic is close to her heart04:30 — "I feel like it's destined" — addressing the hopelessness alienated parents feel06:00 — Fear is a filter: how trauma responses hijack parenting decisions in high-conflict situations08:15 — Misconceptions about parental alienation from the inside: why catastrophizing makes it worse10:00 — Misconceptions from the outside: what friends and family get wrong and how to ask for support12:30 — The Constructive Conversations model (with Dr. Anastasia Kim) for difficult dialogue14:15 — Using love languages with alienated children: quality time, words of affirmation, gift giving, touch17:00 — When your child doesn't respond to your love language efforts: the power of repetition18:30 — Reliability and consistency: why attachment is built over time, not in a single reunion20:00 — When children are openly hostile: what to do in the moment when your child screams at you22:45 — Self-regulation tools for targeted parents (including Marsha Linehan's distress tolerance skills)24:30 — Setting limits with your child during a hostile encounter without escalating26:00 — Micro goals: why big reunion fantasies set you up to fail — and what works instead28:30 — Making micro goals about your behavior, not your child's response30:15 — Do alienated children come back? What if the most important fact about your partner's violence risk is sitting in a police database you can't access? In this episode, David and Ruth dig into Clare's Law, the UK's domestic violence disclosure scheme, with researcher Dr. Katerina Hadjimatheou, and they get honest about what information sharing can do when coercive control runs on secrecy, grooming, and lies. They talk about why convictions alone rarely tell the full story, how serial perpetrators move from relationship to relationship, and why survivors often say a disclosure helps them finally see the pattern and stop blaming themselves.Ruth, David, and Dr. Hadjimatheou also compare two very different real-world implementations: England and Wales, where the experience can be inconsistent and sometimes isolating, and South Australia, where a specialist domestic violence service wraps disclosure in a trauma-informed support process. That difference matters. Many people requesting disclosures have never contacted a domestic violence service before, so the moment of disclosure can either become a doorway to safety planning and autonomy or a terrifying information drop with nowhere to put it.Then they name the hard part: systems can misuse a safeguarding tool. They unpack how child protection agencies can pressure mothers to seek disclosures and turn results into a “test,” and they discuss risks like mislabeling and perpetrators gaming the system. If we want disclosure schemes to improve survivor safety and perpetrator accountability, we have to design them around consent, support, and pattern-based understanding.Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave us a review: where should disclosure sit in your community's approach to domestic abuse?Send us Fan Mail Now available! As a family law attorney AND a working GAL in Atlanta, Georgia, Crystal is one of the rare practitioners who has seen the custody system from every angle: as the attorney fighting for clients, as the neutral investigator protecting children, and as the professional who has had exactly one parent incarcerated for defying her court orders. In this conversation, Crystal joins Lisa Johnson to unpack one of the most contentious questions in family law: when should a child's voice be allowed to decide their custody arrangement — and when should it be completely disregarded? The answer, Crystal says, has nothing to do with how articulate or advanced your child is. It has everything to do with whether the language they're using sounds like an actual child — or like someone's lawyer. What You'll Learn in This Episode:✅ How GALs instantly detect when a child has been coached — and what specific language is a dead giveaway✅ Why "I want 50/50 custody" coming from a 10-year-old should raise immediate red flags✅ What the 'borrowed scenarios' phenomenon looks like in a real investigation✅ How Crystal visits kids at their schools — without telling the parents — and why she always gets new information✅ The real impact on children when they're put in the middle: clinical depression, self-harm, 17-year-olds calling their GAL crying at 10pm✅ At what ages (11 and 14 in Georgia) a child's preference becomes legally relevant — and why that still doesn't mean they get to choose✅ The non-negotiable case for reunification therapy — and what Crystal does to parents who try to block it✅ How to find a qualified GAL and what to look for in a mental health expert for an older, refusing child✅ What to do when your child won't see you: Crystal's direct advice to rejected parents⏱️ Timestamps:00:00 — Introduction: How Lisa and Crystal met at the Bridging the Gap conference in London01:45 — How a GAL tells the difference: coached child vs. genuine preference04:30 — Crystal's background: family law attorney, boutique firm in Atlanta, and why she loves GAL work06:00 — Advanced children vs. coached children: why intelligence isn't the issue08:15 — "I want 50/50" — why that phrase signals coaching immediately10:00 — Age and preference in Georgia: the affidavit of election at 11, determinative weight at 1413:30 — Why Crystal stopped having children sign affidavits of election15:45 — The 17-year-old: even at near-adulthood, best interest analysis still controls18:00 — Reaction to New Jersey's ruling: what does it mean for children's long-term wellbeing?21:00 — Why Crystal visits children at their schools — without telling parents — and what she learns23:30 — Children and truth-telling: parroting, fawning, and protecting a parent26:00 — Loyalty conflicts: the real emotional impact on children stuck in the middle29:00 — Clinical depression, self-harm, and older kids calling Crystal crying at 10pm32:00 — Older children refusing contact: how to make the case for intervention to the court35:00 — Reunification therapy: Crystal has never been denied an order for it — and here's why38:30 — What happens to parents who block reunification therapy: contempt motions and incarceration41:00 — What kind of expert witness to bring in for an older refusing child43:30 — False allegations and fake documents: how they're handled in investigation46:00 — How to find a good GAL and what qualifications actually matter48:30 — How to prepare your child for a GAL interview (and what NOT to say)51:00 — Advice for rejected parents: don't give up, keep reaching out, send birthday gifts54:00 — Memory, photographs, and why fighting for a child who doesn't want you right now still matters56:30 — How to find Crystal Wright and closing remarks

Fear is one of the most powerful personal safety tools we have, because it's often the first hint that something is off. In this episode, we sit down with expert and author Laura Frombach to talk about fear as useful data, not drama. We break down the difference between being afraid and being aware, and we share a simple, practical approach to situational awareness using the military-style color codes (green, yellow, orange, red). The goal is not to live in panic, but to stay calm, notice sooner, and act earlier when something feels wrong. From Laura we also learn:How offenders test boundaries. How women are socialized to “keep the peace,” and why that conditioning can be dangerous in real time. How intuition is your nervous system's “hardware,” and how social rules can act like “software malware” that teaches you to talk yourself out of your own instincts. Practical safety planning ideas, boundary-setting scripts, and a reminder to look out for others when we can.We also name a truth we never want to lose sight of: people can do everything right and still be harmed, and responsibility always belongs to the perpetrator, not the victim.

Have you ever had a really big vision of doing something, and then the way it turned out was actually very different from what you had planned? I think this is almost universal for us as humans. Think back to when you were a teenager. You probably had some ideas about becoming an adult and what that would look like. What kind of career you might have, or not. Finding a partner if you wanted one. Thinking about being a parent, or not having kids at all. A lot of young people have this vision of how they think their life is going to play out. And at that age, we don't really have enough experience to know that those things almost never actually play out exactly as you expect them to. I mean, just by listening to the guests that I talk to here on the podcast, we know that things happen that we never would have imagined – and life can take a completely different path. My guest today is Mae. In high school, she had her life planned out. She had already met and was in love with her life partner, and they were going to get married as soon as they could, and they were going to have children, and live happily ever after. That's not what happened. This episode has a content warning for domestic abuse and graphic sexual violence, because the fairy tale life Mae had planned gradually turned into a nightmare. Until she finally decided that she'd had enough. In August of 2013, Rebecca Rogers shot and killed her husband of 14 years, Jason, three times — twice in the back and once in the head — but don't worry, according to Rebecca, this was all somehow self-defense.  And apparently enough people bought that explanation, because between the public support and what feels like a pretty surface-level investigation, Rebecca eventually pleaded guilty to manslaughter and served less than two years in prison.  Less than two years.  For shooting a man three times.  Incredible. At first glance, the case seems pretty open-and-shut…until you sit down and actually listen to her interrogation.  Because once I heard Rebecca tell her absolutely “harrowing” tale herself, I walked away thinking this woman didn't get away with manslaughter — she got away with murder. And weirdly, there's barely any information out there about this case.  It never got the full Dateline treatment, no dramatic 20/20 special, no ominous narrator standing in front of a cornfield talking about “small town secrets.”  Somehow this one just quietly drifted off into obscurity. We're also not going to be listening to the interrogation itself in these episodes.  But honestly, we don't even need to.  There is SO much to unpack in the things Rebecca says — the contradictions, the reactions, the storytelling choices, all of it — that, to me, point to this being way more than a simple manslaughter case.  The more she talks, the less believable it becomes. To me, this was murder.LINKS:Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/killaforniapodPayPal:  https://www.paypal.coCashm/paypalme/killaforniapodMerchandise:  https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.threadless.com/Website:  https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.buzzsprout.com/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KillaforniaDreamingPodcastFacebook Group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1296620370450345/Facebook Page:  https://www.facebook.com/killaforniadreamingInstagram:  https://www.instagram.com/killaforniadreamingpod/?hl=enX:  https://twitter.com/killaforniapodEmail:  killaforniapod@gmail.comTikTok:  @killaforniadreamingpod Cash App:  $KDpodcastSOURCES:https://www.northescambia.com/2016/04/breaking-molino-mom-sentencedhttps://www.northescambia.com/2013/08/molino-woman-claims-self-defense-in-shooting-death-of-her-husbandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT3lKnc67X0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyXorcwEAxs&t=1142shttps://weartv.com/news/local/molino-woman-sentenced-for-killing-husband-during-domestic-disputSupport the show

In this episode of Pushing Up Lilies, I'm covering the heartbreaking case of Rachel Castillo, a young mother whose disappearance in Southern California led investigators to a devastating discovery, and ultimately, the conviction of her estranged husband, Zarbab Ali. Rachel vanished during what should have been a routine custody exchange involving her children. But almost immediately, investigators began uncovering signs that something was terribly wrong. What followed was an intense investigation involving surveillance footage, blood evidence, digital tracking, and a search that ended with Rachel's body being found buried in a remote area. As a forensic death investigator, I walk through how cases like this begin to unfold behind the scenes, how small pieces of evidence start forming a timeline, how investigators interpret behavioral patterns, and how critical those early investigative decisions become when someone suddenly disappears under suspicious circumstances. This episode contains discussion of domestic violence, homicide, and burial concealment.  Listener discretion is advised.

Hi loves, welcome into Invincible Her!  Trigger Warning, talk of Domestic Violence. Today's episode is one that honestly left both of us emotionally wrecked while researching it. Because the deeper you look into abuse cases… the more terrifying the pattern becomes. Not just the abuse itself. But the way systems, institutions, money, reputation, and power often seem designed to protect abusers while survivors are left traumatized, discredited, isolated… and afraid. We discuss the missed opportunities by law enforecment in the Gabby Petito case, the Epstein investigations and in every DV case we know or have been in, or heard about. One of the hardest truths to accept is this: The justice system is not always designed around protecting victims. Sometimes it's designed around protecting institutions. Protecting reputations. Protecting corporations. Protecting wealth. Protecting political connections. Protecting liability. Women who are victims of abuse face heightened scrutiny and are more likely to be blamed for staying, courts and the system question our credibility because we stayed or didtn report, survivors often delay reporting because they're terrified. And defense attorneys use delayed reporting against them. But trauma experts have explained for years that delayed reporting is COMMON in abuse cases. Fear delays people. Listen in and lets discuss some of the ways we can help change something, anything fpr all abuse victims.  We love you.  Stay safe. Instead, she unknowingly married a violent psychopath whose abuse would leave permanent physical and emotional scars. “Little did she know that she married a violent psychopath who took both her and her unborn daughter to death's door on more than one occasion.” What began as a marriage eventually spiraled into years of horrific domestic violence that nearly cost Victoria her life. The brutal assaults caused catastrophic injuries that forced her to undergo more than 100 surgeries over the years. The violence also left her with lifelong disabilities that continue to impact her every day. Yet despite unimaginable suffering, Victoria refused to let the abuse define her future. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. The Hidden Reality of Domestic Violence in America Victoria's story reflects a much larger crisis affecting millions of people throughout the United States. Domestic violence remains one of the most widespread and underreported forms of violence in America. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode, How One Woman Survived Unimaginable Abuse, Endured 100+ Surgeries, and Turned Trauma Into Hope for Others. Domestic violence is often hidden behind closed doors. According to the FBI's special report on Domestic Violence in the USA, more than 11,000 domestic violence murder victims and an additional 1.1 million domestic violence victims were reported by participating law enforcement agencies over a five-year period. Nearly 75 percent of those victims were women. The FBI also found that violent crimes involving domestic relationships continue to rise across the country. In addition, the FBI released a separate analysis focused on teen relationship violence, revealing more than 70,500 incidents reported in just one year alone. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. These numbers paint a disturbing picture of how deeply domestic violence affects American families and communities. The Long-Term Impact of Trauma The National Institutes of Health says domestic and family violence affects nearly 10 million people every year in the United States. Experts explain that abuse is not limited to physical violence alone. Victims may also experience: Emotional abuse Psychological manipulation Financial control Sexual abuse Isolation Threats and intimidation Domestic violence can lead to: Lifelong physical injuries PTSD and anxiety Depression Chronic pain Loss of income Homelessness Decreased quality of life Death “Domestic violence causes worsened psychological and physical health, decreased quality of life, decreased productivity, and in some cases, mortality.” Healthcare professionals and law enforcement officers regularly encounter victims of domestic violence, yet many cases still go unreported because victims fear retaliation, embarrassment, financial ruin, or further violence. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode. This compelling conversation is available across Podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where social audiences continue engaging with powerful stories about trauma, recovery, and resilience. For many survivors, escaping is only the first step. Healing can take years. From Survivor to Advocate What makes Victoria Coure's story especially powerful is what happened after the abuse ended. Taylor Frankie Paul, the leader of MomTok and a glorified mormon thirst trap, quickly turned from the life of the party to online meltdowns, social media rants, police interventions, DV cases, and child custody battles. She's graced our televisions on Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives where we've seen the lives of some of the most popular influencers in Utah. Taylor is known for her spitfire personality, accountability, sharp tongue, and no nonsense demeanor. She was even chosen as this seasons Bachelorette, which was swiftly pulled a week before it was set to air, as soon as her infamous DV tape was released by her now ex-boyfriend, Dakota. Her timeline on social media has been very up and down, resulting in her recently crashing out online and lashing out at the people around her, very publicly. It's not only concerning to watch as a viewer and a former fan, but even more concerning to watch her fans (cult) support the spiraling and erratic behaviors. On this episode we'll be outlining observations of Taylor's time on social media, including: addiction to social media, parasocial relationships with her cult following, abuse against children/unsafe environments, weaponizing mental health/trauma, and more. This is not meant to diagnose or figure out what's 'wrong' with Taylor, this is commentary based on observations of behaviors that have been repeated over several years, both on social media, released footage, and television. If you or someone you know is experiencing Domestic Violence visit: https://www.thehotline.orgFan Mail HereSupport the show

//The Wire//2300Z May 12, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: DETAILS COME TO LIGHT REGARDING YESTERDAY'S FIREFIGHT IN CAMBRIDGE. GLOBAL ENERGY CRISIS GROWS AS MISHAPS AND INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENTS CONTINUE TO IMPACT REFINERIES. CALIFORNIA MAYOR PLEADS GUILTY TO SERVING AS A CHINESE AGENT.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE-----  -International Events-United Kingdom: Over the past few weeks, Prime Minister Starmer has faced growing calls for his resignation, with a total of 90 Labour MPs now openly requesting his resignation. Following the political tensions of the morning, more resignations have taken place, with Shadow Minister for Domestic Violence and Safeguarding Jess Phillips and Under-Secretary of State for Health Innovation and Safety Zubir Ahmed both resigning their posts this morning.Analyst Comment: This tidal wave of dissent from within Starmer's own party is probably a knee-jerk reaction to the devastating election losses over the past few days, in which his political opponents gained significant ground in Parliament. Many Britons have begun to dump the Labour Party for alternate choices due to the social, political, economic, and immigration issues being at a breaking point. PM Starmer has vowed to not step down for the time being, but the political situation remains in the balance as pressure on Starmer's government mounts.Mexico: Overnight a large fire was reported at the Salina Cruz Refinery in Oaxaca. Pemex officials have stated that the fire began inside a cooling tower at the Hidros 2 plant, which was in the process of being brought online to increase production at the facility. The fire was brought under control and extinguished after a few hours, and 6x workers at the refinery were injured as a result of the blaze.-HomeFront-Oklahoma: Yesterday afternoon an explosion was reported at the HF Sinclair Refinery in west Tulsa. The facility was able to contain the spread of the fire, and firefighters extinguished the fire after a few hours. The cause of the incident is not known as the investigation into the incident continues.California: Yesterday the mayor of Arcadia resigned after accepting a deal with the Department of Justice to plead guilty to serving as an unregistered Chinese agent. Mayor Eileen Wang admitted to serving the interests of the Chinese Communist Party, specifically with regards to promoting propaganda efforts directly from the Chinese government. According to the documents provided by the DoJ, Wang was in direct communication with high-ranking Chinese officials and was taking direct orders from leadership in Beijing regarding political decisions that were made by her office. Wang is expected to formally accept the plea deal within the next few weeks.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Yesterday's mass shooter in Cambridge has been identified as Tyler E. Brown, a resident of Boston. Brown has a long criminal history, and has displayed violent intent (just for the sake of violence) for many years. The latest example of this history includes a previous incident that took place under nearly identical circumstances. In 2020, Brown engaged in a shootout with police in Boston in a similar manner to yesterday's skirmish. During that incident six years ago, Brown began harassing and threatening random people on Northampton Street, before engaging police in a gun battle in the street. Brown was eventually wounded and detained, after attempting to kill everyone in his immediate vicinity. In the news articles from that 2020 shooting, Boston Police Commissioner William Gross was quoted as criticizing local judges for letting people like this out of jail and giving them a slap on the wrist, as even in 2020, Brown had been given light sentences for his previous crimes.Nevertheless, Brown was sentenced to only 5 years of prison time by Suffolk Superior Court Judge Janet Sanders, who rejected the recommended 10-12
