Now a business owner, speaker, and coach, Donald connects leadership lessons from nature to business. Mike Simmons — Founder of Find My Catalyst, leadership coach, and sales strategist, helping people identify and act on their catalyst for change. Three Key Quotes Donald Forgione: “Trust is the key to absolutely everything… If they're not feeling what I'm saying, I might as well throw it out the window.” Mike Simmons: “A revenue challenge is often a culture challenge in disguise. Culture starts with leadership. Leadership starts with self.” Donald Forgione: “Superman ain't coming. You have to be your own Superman, your own Wonder Woman — and figure it out.” Mike and Donald explore the deep connections between nature and leadership, revealing how adaptability, trust, and asking the right questions can transform teams and culture. They share real-world lessons from state parks to sales, showing leaders how to align purpose, overcome obstacles, and create environments where people thrive. 5 Key Takeaways – Finding Your Catalyst in Leadership 1. Adaptability is Essential Nature changes daily, sometimes hourly — so do business environments. Leaders must adjust “sails” when conditions shift, not fight the wind. Like a river finding a new path, flexibility keeps momentum moving forward. 2. Trust is the Foundation Without trust, communication falls flat — people must feel you're genuine. Consistent standards and fairness build credibility. Trust enables teams to follow direction, even in tough changes. 3. Ask Better Questions Leaders have an obligation to ask questions others won't. Tone, timing, and context matter — the “tailgate” setting often works best. Asking opens doors to insight; telling can shut them. 4. Sales is Everyone's Job Selling is solving problems, not pushing products. Every role in an organization impacts customer experience. Internal and external “customers” both require thoughtful service. 5. Break Down Silos Customers don't care which department “owns” the problem. Internal collaboration is as important as external service. Remove political barriers so the mission comes first. Listener Challenge: Your Catalyst Connection This week, take 15 minutes to connect one lesson from nature to your work. Step 1 – Observe: Go for a walk in a park, your neighborhood, or any outdoor space. Notice one thing that stands out — a tree's growth pattern, the way water flows, how animals interact, or even the weather. Step 2 – Reflect: Ask yourself: What obstacle is this natural element facing? How is it adapting or overcoming? How does this mirror challenges in my team or business? Step 3 – Act: Identify one small change you can make in your leadership or work this week inspired by that observation. Example: If you see water rerouting around rocks, consider how you can redirect your team's energy around a roadblock rather than trying to push through it. Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), this is a a 21st Century relaunch of the crime spoof franchise which kicked off in 1988 with the original "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" which starred the late, great Leslie Neilsen as Lt. Frank Drebin.  Well the mantle has now been passed to Oscar-nominee Liam Neeson (Schindler's List, Darkman, Taken) who plays his son, Lt. Frank Drebin Jr.  This time around, he has his own crimes to solve kicking off with the murder of the brother of the mysterious Beth Davenport played by Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl, Barb Wire, Baywatch).  Furthermore, the prime suspect MIGHT be tech billionaire Richard Cane played by Danny Huston (The Constant Gardener, Wonder Woman, Children of Men).  And hilarity ensues?  Let's find out if this latest reboot can bring the funny as well as the original....  See below for a link to a special video featuring a DELIGHTFUL scene from another movie featuring a needle-drop used within this movie:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77m3XlhQwaIHost & Editor: Geoff GershonEditor: Ella GershonProducer: Marlene GershonSend us a texthttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Send us a textEver watched a movie you expected to hate but ended up enjoying? That's exactly what happened with Disney's latest live-action remake "Snow White." Going in with rock-bottom expectations after months of PR disasters, we found ourselves genuinely surprised by a film that delivers far more entertainment value than its pre-release controversy suggested. The unexpected highlight? Gal Gadot absolutely shines as the Evil Queen. After seeing her typecast as heroic Wonder Woman for years, watching her embrace villainy with such delicious enthusiasm is refreshing. Her musical performance impresses (even with probable auto-tuning), and her physical embodiment of the character through facial expressions and movement demonstrates genuine talent. Andrew Burnap as the prince similarly delivers a charismatic performance that leaves you wanting more of his character – ironically contradicting lead actress Rachel Zegler's now-infamous comment that "he could be cut out."What makes this film fascinating is the disconnect between its actual quality (we both gave it 3.5/5 stars) and its public perception. The visuals are stunning, the supporting cast delivers, and even the controversial dwarf characters quickly become endearing through their whimsical presence. Yet the film's reception has been overshadowed by off-screen drama that threatens to sink what could have been a successful Disney remake. It's a reminder that sometimes the most interesting Hollywood stories happen behind the camera – and a genuinely good film can be torpedoed before audiences ever get a chance to form their own opinions.Have you seen Snow White yet? We'd love to know if you were also surprised by its quality or if the controversy kept you away. James Gunn is one of the most prolific and successful screenwriters and directors out there. After bringing the Marvel films, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, to the big screen, he was hired as the head of DC films to set up and bring to life the world of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman. After successful products like THE SUICIDE SQUAD (2021) and PEACEMAKER (2022), he's back with the true kickoff to the DC Universe with SUPERMAN (2025).From IMDB: “Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.”The new Superman film stars David Corenswet as the lead with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The aggregate website Rottentomatoes has given it great reviews from both audiences and reviewers alike. Your co-hosts take a look at this big budget beginning to the DC Universe and give their thoughts.

With Fantastic Four: First Steps opening tomorrow we decided to go back and look at the stories that inspired the latest MCU film - Fantastic Four #48, 49 and 50. These stories see the debuts of the Silver Surfer and Galactus, as well as... Johnny Storm going to college? Let me tell you, the structure of these comics is pretty odd. But they're one of the pinnacles of the legendary Jack Kirby/Stan Lee run. Before that we have a ton of news, and as of this recording there isn't even anything big coming out of San Diego Comic-Con! Kevin Feige spills the beans about an MCU reset, a Booster Gold pilot is being written, there's a new Wonder Woman movie and more. If you don't care about this skip to 47:22. This weekend we will have Fantastic Four: First Steps on Watch Men, so make sure you're subscribed to our Patreon at the $5 level to get it! Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesMarvel Studios may be sitting out of this weekend's storied San Diego Comic Hall H, but that hasn't stopped the big news and updates from pouring in. First, last week in a huge move, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige invited a small group of journalists to Marvel Studios' offices where he laid out the future for the next 5 to 7 years for the MCU. The biggest takeaway, arguably, was Feige's cagey hints regarding a likely reset to the universe during the events of Secret Wars, saying, “Reboot is a scary word; Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we're thinking along those lines.” Other tidbits from Feige's comments include a commitment to recasting the X-Men with new actors for their post Secret Wars film, an update on the Mahershala Ali-led Blade film and Sony's mandate that they stay away from a live action Miles Morales until the conclusion of the animated Spider-Verse trilogy. In Marvel news that looks to the more immediate future, director Matt Shakman shared that John Malkovich's role and performance as the Red Ghost has been removed from The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, which opens this week!Superman continues to live up to its name when it comes to its performance, as the superhero flick passed $409 million at the global box office in its second weekend of release. The $58 million second weekend, which is a respectable -54% drop from the opening weekend, is in keeping with 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine and bodes favorably compared to other recent releases from the comic book genre; plus coupled with other wins like A Minecraft Movie and Sinners, the latest success has helped Warner Bros become 2025's top earning studio with $1.32 billion in ticket sales. In other news, Variety confirmed Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira has been tapped to pen the Wonder Woman reboot for the DCU in addition to being attached to a live action Teen Titans project for the studio.Lots and lots of trailers hit the interwebs last week, lets run them down and talk about ‘em:Alien: EarthPredator: BadlandsTron: AresStranger Things S5Mortal Kombat IIChristopher Nolan made history by putting tickets on sale for The Odyssey exactly one year before the film's release, marking the first time any movie tickets have sold a full year in advance. The early sales were exclusively for IMAX 70mm screenings at select theaters, supporting Nolan's epic adaptation of the Greek myth that is being shot entirely on IMAX film cameras with a $250 million budget.Hulu announced that Futurama Season 13 will switch from its recent weekly release format to an all-at-once binge drop, with all 10 episodes premiering simultaneously on September 15 at 5 p.m. PT. The change marks a departure from the weekly rollout used for Seasons 11 and 12.Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to star in Robert Eggers' upcoming werewolf horror film Werwulf, with Lily-Rose Depp in talks to join the project in what would reunite the Nosferatu co-stars. Nintendo and Sony's live-action Legend of Zelda movie has cast Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto revealing the casting choices alongside first-look photos on social media. Taika Waititi is attached to direct a new feature film take on British comic book character Judge Dredd. Drew Pearce, the scribe known for Fall Guy and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is attached to write the script.Disney's live action Lilo and Stitch has become the first film of 2025 to pass the $1 billion dollar mark at the international box office.Nearly five years after Netflix entered into a content agreement with Ubisoft, the streamer has ordered an Assassin's Creed live-action series, based on the best-selling video game franchise. The project will be created, showrun, and executive produced by Roberto Patino and David Wiener.
