There's a moment that happens to most of us, usually in the middle of something small, washing dishes, sitting at a red light, when we realize we haven't actually been here at all. We've been replaying a conversation from yesterday, or rehearsing one that hasn't happened yet. Heather Elliott, founder of Mindful Change and a mindset expert with two decades of experience, joins host Avik to unpack why mindfulness isn't about clearing your mind, how to work with anxious or racing thoughts instead of fighting them, and a simple way to move into what she calls the observer position when you're feeling overwhelmed. About the Guest: Heather Elliott is the founder and CEO of Mindful Change, a mindset and relationship coaching practice she has run since 2005. She holds degrees in psychology and education, is certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Core Belief Engineering, and is the author of Same Shit Different Day, helping individuals, couples, and business owners identify and transform the limiting beliefs behind recurring life patterns. Key Takeaways: Mindfulness isn't about emptying the mind, it's about noticing what you're focused on and asking whether it's taking you somewhere you actually want to go. Move into the "observer position": picture your worry or fear sitting in a chair across from you, then examine it with some distance instead of being consumed by it. Anxiety and depression often have a story underneath them, tracing that story is frequently more useful than just trying to calm the feeling on the surface. Writing down racing worries at night can let your mind feel heard, so it can quiet down instead of looping. Question your own emotional reactions before assuming someone meant to hurt you, most relationship conflict comes from unverified interpretation, not actual intent. Trading card games are so hot right now. You've got Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-OH!, Riftbound, One Piece, Lorcana, Flesh & Blood, and, like, a dozen more. The whole economy around TCGs has only been accelerated by millennial nostalgia. With 90s kids cresting into their 40s, they now have the funds to chase that foil Charizard they've always wanted. Well we're on a mission to break into that market. This week we're pitch nostalgic TCGs based on properties that have never come to cardboard. Matt is appealing to a particular type of gamer. Todd is appealing to a particular type of athlete. Kyle is appealing to himself in particular. The title of this week's episode was selected by our Patrons in our Discord Community!

Most of us walk around believing we're the ones making our decisions, what to eat, who to trust, how much we believe we deserve. But there's a quieter mind underneath that's been running the show a lot longer than we realize. Annie Lisa, a PSYCH-K facilitator and founder of Divining Your Life, joins host Avik to unpack how the subconscious mind forms in the first seven years of life, why willpower alone rarely changes deep patterns, and what it actually looks like to work with the subconscious instead of against it. About the Guest: Annie Lisa is a transformational speaker, PSYCH-K facilitator, and founder of Divining Your Life, a practice helping people release subconscious patterns that keep them stuck. She spent 25 years in advertising and marketing before shifting fully into this work following a profound personal loss, and is the author of the memoir What My Sister Told Me After She Was Murdered. Key Takeaways: Roughly 95 percent of our daily behavior runs on subconscious programs formed mostly before age seven, not conscious choice. Self-sabotage often isn't a mystery, it's a sign that a conscious goal and a subconscious belief are pulling in opposite directions. Talk therapy can build insight, but insight alone doesn't rewrite the subconscious program driving the behavior. A single small event, even something as ordinary as a mismatched coffee cup, can carry an emotional charge the subconscious files away and repeats. You don't need to know the root cause of a pattern to begin shifting it, only clarity on what you want instead. Fresh back from Chicago, this week Ian and Josh relive their trip to the 46th National Sports Collectors Convention, with Keith and Jason firing in questions from home. It's a full National debrief, from the scale of the show and the crush of the crowds to the way the big booths turned floor space into proper hobby theatre. Think live breaks, giveaways, custom cards, free slabs, app sign-ups, and enough collector temptation to test even the strongest willpower. Was there much non-sports to be found? Ian and Josh go hunting beyond the sports tables, from Pokémon, One Piece, Marvel, and DC to sealed boxes, autos, vintage oddities, and the Star Wars-heavy Heritage Auctions display. We also get into show logistics, favourite moments, Chicago food, Target restocks, Lollapalooza chaos, and why The National is as much about people, networking, and industry handshakes as it is about buying cardboard.BIG love to the Upper Deck team and to all who we met at the show.Plus, Jason signs off from regular podcast duties with a heartfelt farewell. Ode (@thatsod.e / @thatsod_e) and Mo AKA Kid Licorish (@licorishislegit) welcome DJ Sir Daniel and Jay Ray of Queue Points podcast for a bonus crossover centered on Netflix's The Greatest Night in Pop. The conversation traces the recording of We Are the World, covering the roles played by Harry Belafonte, Ken Kragen, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, and Quincy Jones in assembling the session, along with standout moments involving Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Cyndi Lauper, and Al Jarreau. The group also discusses points of frustration with the documentary, including Prince's absence, the treatment of Sheila E., and Patti LaBelle missing the recording the year before her own breakout. Before the review, DJ Sir Daniel and Jay Ray walk through the origins of Queue Points tracing the show's start back to the Salt-N-Pepa Lifetime biopic and the public dispute involving Spinderella. A Time Capsule segment rounds out the front half, with selections including Valentino's 1975 recording of I Was Born This Way, Earth Wind and Fire, A Tribe Called Quest's Stressed Out, and the full catalog of Destiny's Child. The back half of the episode moves into a hypothetical modern version of the recording, with the group debating a 2026 lineup that includes Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, The Weeknd, and Questlove. Big Mad turns to the impact of the Canadian wildfires on air quality, commentary on Dame Dash carried over from a previous live show, and frustration with anime fans who argue that shows like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood contain no political themes. Small Joys closes things out with DJ Sir Daniel's vinyl copy of Black Milk's Ceremonial, upcoming DJ sets at Stereo Atlanta and JB's Record Lounge, and Ode's read of Jessica Cage's Accidents Happen series. DJ Sir Daniel and J-Ray close by pointing to QPoints.com for the weekly podcast and Thursday night Queue Points Live sessions.Queue Points is the Black Podcasting Award and Ambie Award-nominated music podcast and media platform that celebrates Black music history and culture through smart, entertaining conversation. Most shops treat lean like a poster on the break room wall. Andrew Henry runs it like a competitive weapon. He built Henry Holsters into a company that ships around 55,000 orders a year, most of them the same day they come in, without stacks of work in process piling up on every bench. We caught up with Andrew at the Summit on the Summit, and the conversation kept circling back to one idea: The waste hiding in your shop usually is not the machine, but everything happening around the machine. He walks us through the custom vacuum former he eventually scrapped for parts, the moment "Two Second Lean" flipped a switch in his head, and the shift to one-piece flow that changed how his team works. We also dig into how he is putting AI to work right now, not someday. Re-pricing a newly acquired customer's parts in an afternoon instead of weeks. Scanning thousands of lines of inventory to surface dead stock and ERP errors. Using it as a sparring partner to keep high-stakes customer emails firm but professional. And yes, spending an afternoon fighting with a coding tool just to understand what it can actually do. There is a bigger theme running underneath all of it. Ten years after a lot of us met at our first IMTS, the shops that keep showing up, keep learning, and keep trying things are the ones still standing. The ones who decided they were too busy to leave the shop are a different story. If you have ever told yourself you do not have time for a morning meeting, a trade show, or an afternoon with a new tool, this episode is a friendly shove in the other direction. What's Covered in this Episode (1:26) Meet Andrew Henry of Henry Holsters, a lean guru and Workflow automation fan (2:40) Why Andrew bought a Matsuura MX-420 PC10 and what sold him on Hennig's Workflow (3:46) Ten years since our first IMTS: who grew, who is gone, and why (5:25) The pace of change, when 5-axis, automation, and AI all hit at once (8:06) A gondola conversation on why he cannot afford to skip summits and trade shows (9:53) IMTS Industrial AI Conference: reality-based AI for the factory floor (10:40) "I do not have time…"and why that thinking is backwards (12:47) Using AI to re-price a newly acquired customer's parts in an afternoon (16:31) Turning AI loose on inventory data to find dead stock and ERP errors (18:22) Making people show their work with AI as a required thinking partner (20:25) AI as a diplomat for high-stakes, antagonistic customer emails (24:08) Take your shop to the next level with DN Solutions (25:20) Andrew Henry's accidental path to a CNC shop (27:37) Buying a Matsuura for injection mold work and foundational problems to tackle (29:26) The dream of closed-loop, self-correcting machining (33:03) People should not wait on machines, the chaku-chaku principle (33:55) Twin Table Brother cells, vacuum fixtures, and the case against batching (38:58) Find manufacturing leaders who actually fit with Hire MFG Leaders (39:27) Make-to-stock, make-to-order, and any color as long as it is black (40:20) What FastCap taught us and going all in on one-piece flow (44:23) Ownership and pride when one person makes the whole part (45:47) Triag Swiss Modular and machinists who own their machines (46:48) Why you cannot get everyone bought in (and why it's okay) (48:25) How the morning meeting really works, the cobra effect, and why bad incentives break your culture (52:41) The eight wastes, and why seeing the problem beats memorizing the acronym (54:05) "I can't" versus "how could we," closing the gap without hearing no (55:53) Andrew's Lean Built Podcast and the LinkedIn AI slop problem Resources Mentioned Henry Holsters Lean Built Podcast IMTS Industrial AI Conference DN Solutions Hire MFG Leaders Book: Two Second Lean Triag Swiss Modular Connect with Andrew Henry Henry Holsters Connect on LinkedIn Connect with MakingChips Website On Facebook On LinkedIn On Instagram On Twitter On YouTube

Josh is back from the 2026 National Sports Collectors Convention, and his experience inside the building looked a little different from the version of The National that took over social media. Was this really an unprecedented, overcrowded National? Were the lines as bad as they looked online? What were collectors actually buying? And is paying extra for early entry the single best National hack?Josh breaks down five days at the show, his 2008 Upper Deck Tom Brady autograph pickup, meeting AEW's Kyle Fletcher in the wild, the Panini VIP experience, National-exclusive packs and what the hobby's biggest card show actually felt like from the floor. Then we get into a few massive hobby conversations:• Shohei Ohtani's one-of-one Back-to-Back Gold Logoman reportedly selling for $11 million• Whether an $11 million modern card can really establish a market• Why Pokémon, Lorcana, One Piece, Magic and other TCGs continue to explode• Whether Pokémon needs separate products for players and high-end collectors• PSA's staggering 12.4 million-item backlog• Why another grading company may have an opportunity while PSA remains overwhelmedPlus Josh runs through what's new at Grand Slam Cards, including Topps Chrome Update Basketball, the Cooper Flagg debut-patch chase, upcoming baseball and racing releases, and more. And we finish with a baseball stat involving Shohei Ohtani and Pete Crow-Armstrong that had never happened before.Because every card has a story.#SportsCards #TheNational #CardCollecting #TalkingShopPodcast #ShoheiOhtani

In this episode of The Full Arch Podcast, Dr. Steven Vorholt sits down with Kunal Mehta, Co-Founder of Endeavor, to discuss one of the most overlooked factors in case acceptance: patient financing. Together, they explore how simplifying the financing process can reduce friction for both patients and practices, making comprehensive treatment more accessible. The conversation covers the challenges of traditional financing workflows, the importance of creating a better patient experience, and how technology can help treatment coordinators spend less time navigating multiple lenders and more time helping patients move forward with care. Did you like the episode? Send me a text and let me know!! At 20 years old, Todd Kuhn signed a $100,000-per-year commercial lease with no loans, no outside money, and no formal business experience — just a Pilates-teaching girlfriend, a handful of community hall classes, and a gut feeling that there was a market. What came next was a business built class by class, location by location, all the way to an international product operation now expanding across the United States. In this episode of Undiscovered Entrepreneur: Get Across the Start Line, Todd Kuhn joins Skoob for a grounded, high-energy conversation about calculated risk, market testing before committing, the difference between an operator mindset and a CEO mindset, and why the people least expected to succeed are often the ones who do — because they didn't overcomplicate it. I share why the audience (not you) gets to decide what's average, and why paying somebody to work for you is a better education than a college diploma. I also discuss why the free content in a paid-content model has to actually be free, and my secret bigger mission to reframe alpha male success around kindness and empathy. You'll learn about:• Divide and Conquer in Family Business• Who Really Decides What's Average• Paying to Learn by Hiring• Why Free Content Must Be Free• Reframing Alpha Male Success
