Even though we tend to gravitate toward our own state when it comes to brown liquid, we got a lot of love for our neighbors to the south in Tennessee. Jack Daniel's is a brand that is steeped in history and tradition and we've been delighted at how they've expanded their offerings in recent years. In this episode, we taste and review the brand new Jack Daniel's Heritage offering which is a toasted single barrel whiskey. To create this whiskey, Jack Daniel's uses barrels that have a high toast/low char technique which are then filled with 100 proof liquid and aged for 7 years at the highest part of the warehouse. The end result? You'll have to listen to find out. This was once a limited release and now Jack has plans to release it annually. Is this once limited bottle worth having on your radar. We'll give you the lowdown. --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPVisit https://woodworkcollective.shop and enter code MASHUP for a 15% discount on your orderMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!
Between 1978 and 1990, several murder victims were found along major highways in the US, in states including Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Many of the victims were unidentified for years, but they all had one thing in common: they were all redheads or had reddish-colored hair. Because of this detail, the series of murders became known as the redhead murders, but they all remain unsolved to this day; however, there are at least 5, likely many more, murders that may be connected and still sit unsolved. Munaf Manji, Mackenzie Rivers, Dave Essler and SleepyJ talk NFL contests for week 4. Munaf Manji (0:06 – 2:21) opened by welcoming listeners, recapping Week 3, and noting that Circa Survivor lost 3,154 entries with 13,811 remaining, each valued at $1,355. He emphasized that fading the top five most-selected teams has been profitable as they went 2-12-1 ATS at Westgate and 3-12 ATS at Circa, with one entry leading Circa Millions at 14-1. Sleepy J (5:45 – 8:53) chose the Titans +7 vs the Texans, saying “I think the Titans are slowly building. Cam Ward is looking a little bit better each and every game.” He highlighted Houston's lowest points per game, Tank Dell's absence, Mixon's struggles, and a weak offensive line. He argued Tennessee is hungrier and capable of an outright win. Munaf (8:53 – 10:08) agreed, calling the Texans' line inflated, citing receiver losses, Nick Chubb's decline, and predicting a fairer line closer to six. Dave Essler (10:09 – 10:43) also agreed, calling +7 too many points, though doubting Tennessee's ability to win outright. Mackenzie Rivers (10:52 – 12:06) picked Buccaneers +3.5 over the Eagles, arguing “The Eagles have underperformed all season. If you look at advanced stats, they could easily be one and two or oh and three.” He dismissed Philadelphia's late-game magic, noted Wirfs' return, Mayfield's strong play, and called the line exaggerated. Dave (13:27 – 16:29) agreed on Tampa, then picked the Broncos -7.5 over the Bengals, pointing to Denver's defense being top 10 in yards per play, number two in the red zone, and number one in TDs not allowed per game, while Cincinnati averaged only 49 rushing yards per game with Browning already turnover-prone. Munaf (16:30 – 17:12) backed this, citing Chase Brown's meager 93 yards on 2.0 YPC and Browning's five interceptions. Sleepy (17:14 – 19:17) hesitated on Denver due to the spread, saying “I would much rather pick a dead number game” but admitted Cincinnati's WRs could still threaten Denver's defense. Munaf (19:17 – 21:45) chose Steelers +2.5 vs Vikings in Dublin, pointing out Wentz faces new pressure, Pittsburgh's defense improved with T.J. Watt, and Jalen Warren emerged as a passing-game weapon. He predicted mistakes from Wentz would cost Minnesota. Sleepy (21:59 – 23:58) liked the Steelers too, stressing the importance of the 2.5 line in a low-total game, warning Wentz has struggled under pressure and “when you get a level-headed Aaron Rodgers, you don't get five turnovers.” Mackenzie (24:37 – 26:52) disagreed, backing Vikings, criticizing Rodgers' rankings (31st in PFF, 22nd in QBR), pointing to Pittsburgh's poor metrics, and saying “Favorites do well internationally.” Dave (27:07 – 27:50) sided with Mack, calling Pittsburgh's run game the second worst in the league and Rodgers incapable of carrying them. Survivor picks followed: Dave (30:12 – 32:01) took Patriots over Panthers, dismissing Carolina's win as turnover-driven, while Sleepy (32:06 – 35:42) also chose New England, adding, “How many chances are you going to get to really play New England? I think the chances to play them is this week.” Munaf (35:42 – 37:33) added Denver and possibly Texans as options but leaned Broncos. Mackenzie (37:34 – 38:50) favored Detroit, citing a profitable trend where underdogs who win as big dogs typically fail the next week, saying, “The Browns traveling to Detroit get smoked. And I think Carolina also is going to be a little bit overmatched in New England.” The show closed with humor, coupon codes, and Dave joking about being offered Fritos for Chase Brown, ending with optimism about continuing to deliver valuable picks Learn more about your ad choices. Brent Rollins of UGASports.com and the “See Ball, Get Ball” podcast joins Southeastern 16's Chris Lee to talk about the Georgia-Alabama game. Topics include: What did we learn about Georgia in the Tennessee game? One takeaway is that Gunner Stockton and the Bulldogs can handle road adversity. Were Georgia's defensive breakdowns against the pass against the Vols correctable errors? Alabama receivers Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard will be a big test for the Bulldogs, especially with how quarterback Ty Simpson is throwing the ball. Georgia will play the run first--is Alabama's offensive line physical enough to cause problems, and will the return of Jam Miller have a big impact? Will Georgia go run-first in attacking Alabama's defense, and will that be tougher with Tim Keenan III back for the Crimson Tide? How is Georgia's offensive line shaping up health-wise? Georgia's receiving room is deep, with backup London Humphreys making the play of the season for the Bulldogs against the Vols. He, Zecheriah Branch and company will go against an Alabama secondary that figures to be better than what Georgia saw vs. the Vols. Sarah Gammon Bickford was the first Black woman in the United States to own a public utility. Born into slavery in Tennessee in 1852, Sarah's early life was marked by hardship, resilience, and a determination to carve out her own destiny. After emancipation, she moved west to Virginia City, Montana—where she reinvented herself in a place few African American women dared to go. Sarah's story is one of reinvention and quiet revolution. From running a boarding house and candy store to taking ownership of Virginia City's water company, she became a respected entrepreneur in a male-dominated frontier town. Along the way, she raised a family, overcame personal losses, and turned the hot springs and waterworks into symbols of both survival and success. It's Wednesday, September 24th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Chinese Communists restrict Christian online content Bitter Winter Magazine reports that Communist officials in China published new rules last week to significantly restrict religious content online. The religious liberty magazine noted, “It effectively criminalizes spontaneous religious expression online, isolates clergy from global religious discourse, and places sacred speech under the watchful eye of state censors.” The regulations allow only registered religious organizations to post preaching and religious education online. Clergy must promote socialist values. And they are specifically prohibited from evangelizing young people, reports China Aid. But, in Matthew 19:14, Jesus said “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.” Hungary to designate Antifa a terrorist group Hungary plans on designating Antifa as a terrorist organization following the example of the United States. Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently told state media, “Antifa is a terrorist organization. . . . They have come to Hungary, beaten peaceful people in the streets, beaten some half to death.” This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday, designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated.” Man guilty of Trump assassination attempt tries to stab himself in court Ryan Routh, the madman who holed up in a sniper's nest with an assault rifle at President Trump's West Palm Beach golf club, tried to stab himself with a pen in a Florida courtroom Tuesday after he was convicted of attempting to assassinate the then-GOP nominee, reports the New York Post. The jury noted the 17 “reconnaissance” trips he allegedly made to Trump's golf course, and what they described as his excessive stalking of Trump, prior to the September 15, 2024 incident in question. A dramatic scene unfolded as jurors were leaving the courtroom when Routh took a pen and started trying to jab himself in the neck. Courtroom marshals sprung to action and dragged him out of the room as his daughter, Sara Routh, screamed at her father. She yelled, “Dad I love you. Don't do anything. I'll get you out. He didn't hurt anybody.” There is no video footage of Ryan Routh attempting to stab himself with the pen because cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. A few minutes later, Routh was brought back into the courtroom with shackles on. He wasn't wearing the jacket and tie from earlier and his white shirt didn't show signs of blood. The judge set his sentencing date for December 18, where he will face up to life in prison. Trump rebuked globalism and open borders at United Nations U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday. President Trump rebuked globalism, unchecked migration, open borders, and climate change activism. Listen. TRUMP: “The entire globalist concept of asking successful industrialized nations to inflict pain on themselves and radically disrupt their entire societies must be rejected completely and totally. And it must be immediate. That's why in America, I withdrew from the fake Paris Climate Accord.” He also called for the protection of religious liberty. TRUMP: “Together, let us defend free speech and free expression. Let us protect religious liberty, including for the most persecuted religion on the planet today. It's called Christianity.” HHS announced review of abortion kill pill LifeNews reports the U.S. Health and Human Services Department is launching a national review of the abortion kill pill mifepristone. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the Biden administration of downplaying serious complications of the dangerous drug. Obviously, it is used in the killing of unborn babies. Not surprisingly, it is also linked with serious complications for pregnant women. These include hemorrhage, emergency room visits, and sepsis. Proverbs 24:11-12 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Surely we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” CDC no longer recommending MMRV shot for toddlers The vaccine advisory committee for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention adopted new recommendations for the child immunization schedule last Thursday. In an 8-3 vote, the committee voted to no longer recommend the MMRV vaccine for toddlers. The combination shot is for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella. Instead, the committee recommended a standalone vaccine for varicella, also known as chickenpox, and another shot for the other three infections. The committee noted increased risk of seizures among toddlers who received the MMRV vaccine. Most religious state is Mississippi; Least religious state is Vermont Pew Research released data on the religiosity of states in America. The most religious state was Mississippi with 50% of adults expressing a high degree of religiosity. Next up was South Carolina, South Dakota, Louisiana, and Tennessee. The least religious state was Vermont with only 13% of adults expressing a high degree of religiosity. Other states with people of low religiosity were New Hampshire, Maine, Nevada, and Oregon. Religiosity was measured based on importance of religion, religious attendance, frequency of prayer, and belief in God. 73% of Americans now feel safe in their town And finally, a new survey from Gallup found that more people than ever feel safe where they live despite the rise in conflicts between countries. Gallup's Global Safety Report found 73% of adults worldwide said they feel safe walking alone at night in their city or area. That's up from 65% in 2006. Feelings of safety are increasing but remain relatively low in sub-saharan Africa and Latin America. The region with the most dramatic increase in feelings of safety since 2006 is post-Soviet Eurasia. Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Decarlos Brown Jr. Robin Westman. Audrey Hale. These are just a few names of killers that the Left rushed to defend while ignoring their victims. On today's episode of "Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words," Hanson discusses the growing trend of "upside-down morality," in which the Left and the media downplay violent crime, hide key facts, distort the narrative, and prioritize "understanding" criminals rather than defending the innocent. How does society reverse course on this dangerous rhetoric? “When Iryna [Zarutska] was killed on the light rail, there were three people right across the aisle. And when they saw her collapse and she was looking at—looking at the ceiling, thinking, ‘I'm dying because a man just killed me for no reason. No one is helping me,' they each got up, solitarily walked right by her in her last gasp—did not offer a tourniquet, did not offer to help, did not call anybody. I don't know why they did that. “Maybe they thought if they did something like Daniel Penny and tried to intervene and save a life that they might be prosecuted or they might, who knows, or they were cowardly. But it's the same idea that we don't have any empathy for the victim, and if the victim doesn't fit a particular status that we call victim, the real victim of a physical act of violence or murder or assault, but if they don't fit a particular rubric as a victim that is based on their sexual orientation or their homeless status or their race, that we don't really care about them.”

Did Wendi Adelson Try To Frame Her Ex-Boyfriend For The Murder Of Her Ex-Husband Dan Markel? This segment covers the aftermath of Jeff Lacasse's police scrutiny. Initially considered a suspect, Jeff cooperated fully—offering credit card receipts, surveillance video, and cell phone records that placed him in Tennessee at the time of Dan Markel's murder. His cooperation cleared him, but not before Wendy suggested him as a possible suspect. The jury's own questions dig into Wendy's mindset: her bitterness about losing relocation battles, her constant frustration with custody, and her unhappiness in Tallahassee. They ask whether Wendy's desire for control over her children's lives was so strong that it pushed her closer to her family's extreme solutions. The hosts point out how damning these questions are. Even when Wendy wasn't under direct suspicion, the narrative that emerged from Jeff's testimony and the jury's curiosity made her look like someone deeply enmeshed in resentment and dysfunction. This segment bridges testimony with motive, showing how Wendy's unhappiness and silence around her family's plotting remain some of the most haunting aspects of the Adelson saga. Jay Greeson and Chris Lee preview Tennessee's road trip to Starkville, where they'll be greeted by thousands of maroon-clad cowbells in a contest in which FanDuel favors the Vols by 8 1/2. Topics in our preview include: Mississippi State's defensive performance has gone under the radar. The Bulldogs allow just 4.3 yards per play and 11.8 yards per game. Tennessee's banged-up defense got torched by Georgia in the passing game and then allowed 394 yards to UAB last week. However, the Volunteers have been great on third downs under Josh Heupel due to a disruptive front seven that perennially ranks among the nation's best in stops for loss. Quarterbacks Blake Shapen and Joey Aguilar have been everything their teams have needed. The Vols' Chris Brazzell has developed into one of the league's top play-makers. Mississippi State used the transfer portal effectively to get targets for Shapen, and is running the ball better with Fluff Bothwell and company than it has in years. One evening in the summer of 1998, homicide detective Danny Payne sat in a dark room in a Tennessee suburb police station. He was focused on a TV screen where some surveillance footage played. The recording was bad quality, all blurry and pixelated. But it was still clear what the camera was pointed at – which was a nighttime scene of a McDonald's. On the screen, the shape of a person moved toward the restaurant door and disappeared inside. The video was too low quality to make out any identifying details... but the person wasn't what Payne was watching. He was focused, instead, on a car parked at the far end of the McDonald's lot. Payne had watched this video probably 30 times, but he'd never noticed the car before. Now that he saw it, though, he realized that nothing in this case, was what he had thought it was.For 100s more stories like these, check out our main YouTube channel just called "MrBallen" -- https://www.youtube.com/c/MrBallenIf you want to reach out to me, contact me on Instagram, Twitter or any other major social media platform, my username on all of them is @mrballenSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
