Despite the ongoing hardware "crisis," plenty of next generation hardware news continues to leak out of Xbox. This time, we have Project Magnus courtesy of Moore's Law Is Dead! Set to release in 2027, this console will (as expected) feature some Windows elements and go head-to-head with the pre-built PC market. To help break all of this down, Jimmy Champane of Deck Ready is here. Beyond Project Magnus, we get into a newly released piece of Xbox hardware in the Xbox Ally. Is it worth your money and what does it tell us about the future of Xbox's unified Windows approach? A lot, it seems! Beyond that, we tackle a new-ish structure for the show, covering everything from Xbox to PlayStation and Nintendo. Much of our show is shaped by you, so we hope you enjoy the inclusion and look forward to reading your thoughts. Next-gen console rumors are certainly simmering, as both PlayStation and Xbox have had news emerge regarding their potential console or console-like device, potentially releasing as early as 2027. This may mean we get more compelling real news even in 2026. But is it too early for next-gen? Or does it just seem that way? Do we even need Next-Gen as soon as 2027? Sean and Marc discuss this and more. Compound this with news from Circana about the number of games the majority of gamers buy, and it is yet another telling story about why things may be the way they are for AAA gaming. Does this concern the duo? Or is it just kind of how it's always been, and we just didn't have all these datapoints before? Plus, Marc has more thoughts on Hades 2, Sean's been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, and Little Nightmares 3. Is Xbox done at Target and Walmart too? If you're a regular purchaser of games, you're a stark minority within the very industry you know and love. We've known all about the revenue-related trends directing games as of late, but recent data indicates things are far more dire than they seem, particularly if you're a single player purist. For instance, a third of gaming consumers purchase less than one game a year; 12% buy one game a year; 18% buy two games a year. Only 14% of players buy at least one game a month! Yet, there's more money flowing than ever. Like, lots more. What gives? A migration of customers and their habits, of course! We discuss. Other news this week includes a brief Mark Cerny video celebrating Sony's collaboration with AMD for PlayStation 6, the reemergence of Marathon with invites to an NDA'd closed test, the bluest DualSense controller you could possibly imagine, rumors of a cancelled Reconstruction-era Assassin's Creed, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Could Sony be on the precipice of adding to its family of first party studios? Is there a potential unfilled niche for medical-themed titles? Was Charlie Kirk's assassination part of a larger conspiracy? Or is the truth far more grounded—and far more chilling? In this episode, we cut through the noise to examine what's real and what's recklessly imagined in the case of Tyler Robinson, the man charged with killing political commentator Charlie Kirk during a Utah Valley University event. While conspiracy theories continue to flood the internet—claims of planted evidence, faked texts, missing body cam footage, and even “false flag” accusations—what does the actual evidence say? The rifle wasn't just found near the scene—it had Robinson's DNA on the trigger and on the towel used to conceal it. A note expressing intent to “take out Charlie Kirk” was confirmed by the FBI, even after it was destroyed by the suspect's father. And the now-infamous texts and Discord messages? They weren't internet rumors. They're cited directly in court filings and verified by digital platforms. We also break down the moments that do raise real questions: the body cam gap during Robinson's alleged return to the scene, the FBI's premature “we got him” tweet, and how the defense may use timeline precision and digital chain of custody to challenge the case—not to prove a conspiracy, but to create reasonable doubt. With a defense team stacked with high-profile capital trial attorneys and a prosecution pushing for the death penalty, this case isn't just about guilt or innocence—it's about the weaponization of narrative in a hyper-polarized America. No speculation. No theory-spinning. Just facts, hard analysis, and the uncomfortable truth that the more viral a conspiracy gets, the easier it is to bury what really happened. #CharlieKirk #TylerRobinson #TrueCrimeDebunked #PoliticalAssassination #ConspiracyTheories #DigitalEvidence #FBI #DeathPenaltyCase #HiddenKillers #TrueCrimePodcast Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Vinland, the mysterious place that may be somewhere in North America, and that players of Assassin's Creed Valhalla can explore in The Last Chapter, as a grand finale to the epic story. And story is the key word, because our evidence for Vikings in America comes from Norse sagas. What exactly do they tell us about Vinland and the Vikings in America? And how much can we trust these sources for historical fact?To help Matt Lewis separate saga fact from fiction, he's joined by Dr Brittany Schorn, a Director of Studies in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at the University of Cambridge.Echoes of History is a Ubisoft podcast, brought to you by History Hit. Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss 'the greatest poet of his age', Thomas Wyatt (1503 -1542), who brought the poetry of the Italian Renaissance into the English Tudor world, especially the sonnet, so preparing the way for Shakespeare and Donne. As an ambassador to Henry VIII and, allegedly, too close to Anne Boleyn, he experienced great privilege under intense scrutiny. Some of Wyatt's poems, such as They Flee From Me That Sometime Did Me Seek, are astonishingly fresh and conversational and yet he wrote them under the tightest constraints, when a syllable out of place could have condemned him to the Tower. This wasn't a moment of rage. According to prosecutors, it was a calculated, deliberate act: a long gun, a rooftop, and a public figure in the crosshairs. In this powerful and deeply psychological episode of Hidden Killers, Tony Brueski is joined by psychotherapist and forensic behavioral expert Shavaun Scott to examine the disturbing case of Tyler James Robinson, the man charged with murdering Charlie Kirk in front of a crowd at Utah Valley University. Authorities allege Robinson left behind a handwritten note, confessed to the act in a text message, and planned the shooting for over a week. Prosecutors are calling it ideologically motivated, and they're seeking the death penalty. But this isn't just about what allegedly happened. It's about how people get there. What makes someone move from grievance to violence? From obsession to execution? From believing in a cause to believing that murder is justified? Together, Tony and Shavaun break down the psychology of targeted violence, including: The mindset behind planned attacks vs. spontaneous rage What the term “leakage” means—and how it shows up in text messages and online behavior Why offenders often see themselves as heroes, protectors, or martyrs The role of digital radicalization, algorithmic echo chambers, and identity reinforcement The symbolism of engraved weapons, public executions, and post-crime behavior What institutions, families, and friends can realistically do to stop the next shooter This interview dives deep into the dark corners of obsession, warning signs, and the narratives people build around violence. It's not about sensationalism—it's about understanding the patterns, so we can finally learn how to stop them. If you've ever asked yourself, “How could no one see this coming?”—this is the conversation you need to hear.
