In keeping with the worlds 'Brendan Fraser Renaissance' it was time to discuss the film that started his career, School Ties. While this film is hard to watch for many reasons, it's still required viewing. The story is set in the 1950s and revolves around the anti-Semitism at a boys prep school. While the performances of emerging actors that we know so well today are front and center, it's Brendan Fraser that really gives such a powerful performance. This was Jai's first time watching and  for me it's been a good while since I've seen it. Basically not only does it seem that boys prep schools are breeding grounds for evil in this film, however the adults are not much better. In our behind the scenes research we learned an incredible amount about where actress Amy Locane is now, prep fashion,  and the casting process.*apologies for the weird audio---Get BONUS episodes on 90s TV and culture (Freaks & Geeks, My So Called Life, Buffy, 90s culture documentaries, and more...) and to support the show! Add some nipples to the bat suit, Seal’s Kiss From a Rose, Chris O’Donnell as Robin, and some neon flair and you’ve got a Joel Shumacher “masterpiece”. Basically Batman Forever walked so that Zack Snyder’s Justice League could run. Shumacher cut > Snyder Cut! Not really but here is our review.

He moved to America in 2010, lived in a van in Venice Beach and not quite sure what he would do, although he knew it would involved being in the kitchen. Word spread quickly about his pizzas and his talent, and before he knew it, he was invited over to the house of actor Chris O'Donnell to cook for him and his friends. Those Sunday suppers eventually led to the introduction of his future business partners and Pizzana was born. Daniele talks about the importance of ingredients, paying respect to the food, and his love of making pizza (and carbs).

Donald Trump even stops by to warn everyone that the suburbs will turn into a Gotham neon nightmare if Joe Biden is elected.    Batman 4EVEERRRR was directed by Joel  Schumacher and stars Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, and Chris O’Donnell.   If you want to be part of the show, or you want to scream at us, check out our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages, or email us at  tdbackrow@gmail.com

All for one and one for all Baddies! Christian of Baltazar and Alejandro of Nazareth cross the dunes to bring a review of the modern contemporary art masterpiece that is The Three Musketeers (1993). Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, and God-Fearing Charlie Sheen helm said musketeers, and Chris O’Donnell joins in with the group, at great risk to the tittle, when he finds out Tim Curry is playing the bad guy. Alejandro thinks neither of the Boys could survive if they time travelled to any time before 1990. Christian is far more familiar with the candy Three Musketeers than he is with the actual story written in 1844. And Christian drops semi-reliable knowledge about the classic Colt 45. Alejandro thinks this film takes place in the 14th century and has zero clue that he’s off by about 500 years, then he calls his brother, Matt Middleton, to get his thoughts on the film that was a staple in their house growing up. Christian and Alejandro have a hearty laugh at the idea of Christian being tricked into starring in the worst produced porno. Alejandro has the same BPOS as his brother and hates it.

Once upon a time in Hollywood, we made movies around soundtracks and the movie took a second place in effort. At the height of that craze, we were left with this malarkey and the legend of Chris O'Donnell was born. Let's get this out of the way; we've come a long way since swashbuckling was big and there's good reason. It stinks. Think of watching Henry Cavill mess a bunch of guys up in an alley during the first season of The Witcher. It's badass. Swashbuckling is not. "Yes, but the kiddies can't exactly watch The Witcher split a man's head in half with a silver sword, now can they? Oh wise podcast critic! Haha!" Charlie Sheen might say. Ok, well then think of Viggo Mortensen fighting orcs at the Battle of Helm's Deep, you winning bastard! Swash-buckling is a complete waste of time. Yet this movie is soooo full of it. There's very little else going on here that doesn't involve either poorly timed jokes and proper fencing footwork. And it's all lackluster. Sadly, on a revisit The Three Musketeers doesn't quite work. It's more of a tedious affair which tries to rely on the same jokes and sequences over and over. There's no movement - it's just a flat line that suddenly stops for the credits - which further enforces the film just being a vehicle to get to a terrible song to play during the credits. This is a sad pass for me and a barely do from my other co-hosts. Enter at your own risk and only bring a group of quality riffers along with you.

Warner Bros. wanted to sell toys, so they upped the ante and cast THE BIGGEST STAR IN THE WORLD; Arnold Schwarzenegger AND indie darling; Uma Thurman, fresh off Pulp Fiction.   The new baddies faced off against a recast Caped Crusader; George Clooney. And why not? I’m sure the core demographic loved George in ER... And Clueless star, Alicia Silverstone making her debut as Batgirl. Oh, and Chris O'Donnell... shows up... again...   After 20+ years what do the guys make of the 4th time out for the not-so Dark Knight? Are there fond memories or were they just left out in cold?

1995's Batman Forever is the third installment of the Batman franchise as well as the first one not directed by Tim Burton but also the FIRST one that the Sweeties saw in the theaters! Michael Keaton is out and Val Kilmer is in as the brooding, conflicted Bruce Wayne who still can't come to terms with losing his parents or his love of bats.  We loved this movie as kids but on this rewatch realized it's maybe not the greatest? We adore Jim Carrey's The Riddler (even if he gets a bit too hammy) and Val did a fine job trying to add depth to snoozy Bruce Wayne.  However, we could do with a lot less of Tommy Lee Jone's Two Face and way, way less of way too into himself + what is with that misplaced earring Chris O'Donnell aka Dick Grayson aka Robin. We'll talk about what's our favorite Riddler costume, why is Chase Meridian such a hot mess, and warble out what we think to be the correct lyrics to Seal's Kiss From a Rose.  We'll just say it ain't pretty! We're all getting Batman Forever tattoos guys!

Tawanda!!!!! Time to head over The Whistle Stop Cafe for some Fried Green Tomatoes! From 1991, another great southern women rock movie based on the book by Fannie Flagg! This episode goes out to our fan friend Nikki, as it's one of her favorites, and while not as familiar to the Sweeties other than the traumatizing AF kid gets boot stuck in train track while steaming train comes along scene, we really love it for its depiction of female solidarity and friendship and love both sexual and platonic and it's depiction of the south during the 20s and 30s where it was fucking ROUGH for women but downright fucked up for black people.  Some great acting by Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates and the two triple named Mary's plus a small bit with adorable fetus Chris O'Donnell! We'll talk about if Idgie Threadgood is really Jessica Tandy (come on, it is her right?), if we've ever tried a fried green tomato before, and how movies about domestic violence like this one and the ones on Lifetime Television for Women really stuck with us!

Uditi comes from a small, Italian village, where he first learned how to bake with his “auntie” but later, came to America and worked at various restaurants, before settling on his own style of pizza – a kind of artisan-meets-Neapolitan, with a slightly lower oven temperature than traditional Neapolitans, that results in a slightly longer baking time. A chance meeting with actor Chris O’Donnell (and a series of pizza parties at his home for friends and colleagues) led to a partnership with both the O’Donnells and the owners of Sprinkles Cupcakes. They eventually opened Pizzana in Brentwood. The late L.A. Times critic Jonathan Gold was a huge fan of the pizzas, and a glowing review led to even more success. The partners have also opened a second location on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Sprinkles are the Tesla of cupcakes: artfully decorated and made with premium ingredients. Candace is an Executive Producer and Judge on the new Netflix baking show Sugar Rush. She’s also appeared on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. Plus, the two lucky breaks that made Sprinkles a worldwide brand and why she focused these days on Pizzana restaurant which she co-owns with actor Chris O’Donnell.

Today on the Podcast, Face off with Yourself and Fly. There's that saying, "wherever you go, there you are." And if you've ever thrown your hands up in the air and spontaneously moved across country, quit a job, ended a relationship or swan dived into a last minute Bali Yoga Retreat (ha! I get it!) — you may have learned just how true that statement really is. Turns out? Almost as soon as we get "there" we realize we're still "here." Like trying to shake your own shadow, you may soon realize you're the same person with the same thoughts, feelings, and actions ... only now you're in a new surrounding, or novel experience, which will (of course) soon become normalized again. Maybe even boring. And then what? Do you leave, again? Variety is a Human Need. So is Certainty. Don't get me wrong. Getting away is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. In fact, unique environments with opportunities to make fresh relationships is one of the absolute best catalysts for change!!! Think about why camp was so great as a child or why so many of us prioritize attending personal/professional development workshops and conferences. We love them because why? They're full of surprise and variety! More than that? They're just the catalyst, the spark, we need to get fired up again. But how many feel that hangover let down come Monday? When all the new faces have flown back home and you're back, alone, behind your desk. Day after day after day. All the clarity and conviction, all the certainty, from the weekend quickly begins to wane and you're (again) sitting in doubt; in overwhelm. Alone. Change your Mindset and your Skillset. See, it's not UNTIL we learn to change both how we think about things AND how we act on things that we FULLY shift the core thing that made us want to suddenly flee in the first place. Only then do we really feel momentum. Only then do all those seeds of ideas start to blossom into real world realities. And the KEY? To have intimate, deep, genuine accountability partners and frameworks to keep you motivated and focused even when the going gets tough. Even when you can't hop the next flight to Costa Rica. That's where mentorship, coaching, masterminds and membership communities make all the difference in the world. Taking you from ignition, to insight, to implementation. That type of ongoing support is what keeps stoking the fire and keeps helping you recreate those fun, memorable, connections and inspiration at home. Enter my conversation with Jeannette Ceja ... Research out of the Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM)has indicated that the harvest weed seed control tool (HWSC), narrow windrow burning, also help manage the damaging fungal disease sclerotinia stem rot. Kyran Brooks did his Honours in this research, with supervisors Mike Ashworth (AHRI) and Sarita Bennet (CCDM). The trials found providing temperatures were high enough and reasonably consistent (at least 350°C maintained for 10 seconds), sclerotinia was killed. An important finding was that sparse canola stubble that had not been windrowed was difficult to burn and could not achieve the temperatures required to kill sclerotinia. We also speak with research fellow Dr Chris O’Donnell from the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Queensland. He explains how the Australian Ground Spray Calculator works. Não é uma mini picareta como a do Chris O'Donnell no Limite Vertical, nada disso. É uma mega picareta. É caso para dizer "Não fujam para as montanhas".

JUNE 25, 2017 - BUH-DUN-DUN-DUH-NUH! From the Comedy News Headquarters on the Internet, it's THE DAILY SHOW WEEKLY, hosted by Vic Shuttee and Chandler Dean. Darkness befalls a Daily nation. Progress is shuttered, and dreams come crumbling down. Could this indeed be the Daily Show weakest hour? We’re about to drop some science on you. The Daily Show Weekly is an unofficial fan podcast designed to serve as a critical companion to the original series, which can be watched in clips at CC.com. The year is 1992! I was four years old and started paying attention to classic films like Encino Man, SideKicks, Captain Ron, and Toys. Some of the best movies of 1992 didn't come to my attention until many years later when I had come to enjoy gritty dramas like Diggstown and Juice. Or when my obsession/Fan boy-ness for Matt Damon had fully blossomed and led me to School Ties, which is packed with great young talent like Ben Affleck, Brendan Fraser, Chris O'Donnell, and of Matty D. The movies on my top ten list for 1992 span many different genres of film from comedy and animation to sports and action/adventure. 1. Aladdin 2. A league of there own 3. A few good men 4. Mighty ducks 5. White men cant jump 6. Reservoir dogs 7. Wayne's world 8. My cousin vinny 9. Sister Act 10. 3 Ninjas

An impossible movie where a man can't seem to propose, even though he has someone who loves him and WOULD marry him - and he also has $100 Million. We ask the tough questions this week: Would you marry Chris O'Donnell for $100 Million?? Is Chris O'Donnell a serial killer? Is that why he keeps so many pictures of his ex-girlfriend? Why hasn't he brought up the $100 Million?? Why would they even have Mariah Carey in this movie, if they are going to have her lip sync?? (This is PEAK 1999 Mariah Carey. C'mon!!!) For the growing Geek Life Army!  I think I can honestly say it's doubled in size in the last couple of weeks.  Thanks to both of you. Episode Two (It was 6 for us, but it's 2 for you.) "The Worst Scotty" (It was called "Geekpourri Wannabe" originally; I called an audible.) As we turned on the microphones to record, this one was supposed to be a "chatting it up" potpourri episode where Chuck and I riff on whatever current geek culture trends we liked.  What happened was, we had a bit too much fun with the celeb geek birthday bit. We have a discussion on the crazy tragic passing of Star Trek's Anton Yelchin (Pavel Chekov from the ST:Kelvin timeline), and successfully answer the question "What will Star Trek do without Yelchin?  How can they make more Trek movies without this Chekov?" Celebrity Geek Birthdays include: Chris Isaak, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Chris O'Donnell, JJ Abrams, Mel Brooks, Steven Seagal, David Alan Greer, Pamela Anderson, Margot Robbie, Mike Tyson, Elon Musk, the good ol' USA, and more.  I told you we got carried away with that part. Re: "Elon Musk". Google magically revealed to me the name Elon comes from the Bible and means oak. (I of course did not actually check the Bible.)  So "Oak Musk" is that guy's name!  I wonder what other first names work that well in the Musk fam? Also in this episode: **Thanks to our friend Pete's advice we vastly improved the sound quality, and now we're a real boy! (Did you know Pinnochio becoming a real boy is a Jesus Christ allegory? Look it up!)  **I yell at Chuck for reading the red notes.  Damn him!!  **And, for the first time, sound clips. Yay?
