Pocas marcas pueden presumir de cumplir 160 años como Opel. Una firma histórica de la que te contamos su historia. Una historia curiosa e interesante que tiene en el Opel Corsa uno de sus protagonistas. El Corsa es un icono de Opel pero también el responsable de la supervivencia de la fábrica del ahora grupo Stellantis en Figueruelas (Zaragoza). Entrevistamos para conocer mejor a la firma del rayo a su Directora de Comunicación Rosa Caniego y al Jefe de Producto del Opel Corsa Agustín López-Turconi. Un lujo para nosotros contar con nuestro compañero de prensa Pedro Urteaga para comentar la dinámica del nuevo Corsa. Hablaremos en este podcast de como en 1982 el rey Juan Carlos inauguró las instalaciones de Figueruelas y desde esa fecha se empezó la fabricación del Opel Corsa para todo el mundo. Hoy en día Figueruelas es una planta Stellantis pero hasta ahora era una planta Opel. Ahora la fábrica tiene unos 5.000 empleados que son la base de la economía de la zona junto con sus proveedores . Además otro modelo Opel el Opel Combo se fabrica en la planta de Vigo. En 2022 se celebra el 40 aniversario de Opel pero también el 160 aniversario de Opel. Comenzó fabricando máquinas de coser y después bicicletas hasta llegar a la fabricación de coches. Desde 1971 Opel tiene una historia vinculada al mundo de la electromovilidad. El Opel Electric GT llegó en 1971 o el programa Opel Impulse con Kaddet y Astra caravan eléctricos. Más actual es el Opel Ampera de 2011 que ya recibió varios premios. Opel Corsa están en España en el top 5 de ventas con sus seis generaciones. El Opel Corsa 40 aniversario es una unidad limitada a 1982 unidades para conmemorar el año que nació. 1982 unidades para todo el mundo. El Opel Corsa ha vendido de sus 6 generaciones hasta 14,5 millones de unidades. Opel Corsa——— La mayor de las novedades de la sexta generación es el modelo cien por cien eléctrico con batería de 50 kwh y una autonomías de 353 kms y con carga CC al 80% en 30 minutos. En un cargador de casa a unos 7,4kw se podría cargar en apenas unas ocho horas. La base de la edición 40 aniversario es el GS que es e más deportivo con mucho equipamiento como faros led, Apple Car Play y Android Auto, Asistente de mantenimiento en el carril, alerta de fatiga del conductor, control de crucero con límites de velocidad. Está disponible en dos motores la 1.2 turbo de combustión y la eléctrica. Al acabado GS se le añade la cámara de visión trasera, la alerta de ángulo muerto, el Park Pilot delantero y trasero, el climatizador automático digital, el freno de mano eléctrico y el cagardor embarcado trifásico de CA. Además a esta edición limitada se le añade un color rojo exclusivo (Rekord REd), techo y detalles en negro, pack negro y llantas de aleación ligera negras en 17 pulgadas. If you really drive them gingerly, with a feather for a right foot, you can eek out up to 65 km (40 miles), but the lengths you have to go to in order to achieve that don’t make for practical daily driving." says InsideEVs: "But this could soon double, according to a recent report, so we could start to see them reach 100 km (62 miles) in the not too distant future. BMW Blog quotes BMW management board member Pieter Nota as saying: We are of course continuing to develop the drive system and will offer up to 100 kilometres of electric range in the future, depending on the segment. By the end of this year, we will already have a total of 12 basic plug-in hybrid models available, including the new MINI Countryman and the BMW X2. BMW’s smaller plug-in hybrids have a 12 kWh battery pack whose usable capacity is 10.4 kWh. Unveiled Wednesday for the U.S., it gets more than double the electric range of its predecessor, but also boasts more power." according to Green Car Reports: "Estimated EPA range will increase to 30 miles, up from 14 miles for the previous-generation X5 plug-in hybrid. That's due in large part to a bigger, 24-kilowatt-hour, battery pack. That's huge for a plug-in hybrid (the previous-generation model had a 12-kWh pack), and the same size as the battery pack in the original Nissan Leaf. Running on both gasoline and electric power, the X5 will do 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds, which is 1.2 seconds quicker than before, according to BMW. In electric mode, top speed is electronically limited to 84 mph—up from 70 mph before. And nearly half of those new-product introductions will be EVs or hybrids." writes Autoblog: "EVs and hybrids are a big driver of that total and are expected to comprise 49 percent of the total new-model intros over the next four years (EVs being 26 percent and hybrids 23 percent). The biggest increase by segment is — you guessed it — crossovers, which account for nearly half the total (49 percent). Light trucks at 28 percent are the next-biggest segment. They tested the actual range in the summer, what happens when EVs go into power-saving mode, and how they charge in heat degrees." says Clean Technica: "During testing, they ran the cars until they were completely out of power in order to measure the actual range and consumption on typical Norwegian roads. The test was taken by ordinary drivers in regular traffic on a route that consists of city and highway driving with speeds ranging between 60 km an hour to 110 km an hour. This test is a followup to the winter version.Each of the vehicles was tested on the same day and took the same route. Specifically, the Tesla Model S and Model X have seen strong recoveries, matching and even exceeding interest this time last year. Demand for the compact BMW i3 has recently returned to its pre-COVID levels, while the higher-end Audi e-Tron has already exceeded this. This is a strong recovery considering the demand fell by 70.1% and 63.5% respectively from the 8th of March to the 22nd of March. To further spur electric vehicle sales, the governments of France and Germany have included extra incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles in economic stimulus packages. The arrival of Chinese brands in Europe is a relatively recent phenomenon, and they are converging on the Nordic market at a tricky time for European automakers. British brand MG Motor, owned by Chinese giant SAIC Motor, has sold 600 of its ZS EVs in Norway, while a number of other companies are preparing their entry this year, according to the Norwegian Automobile Federation. These include BYD (with the Tang), the Chinese electric-vehicle maker backed by Warren Buffett, and Polestar, the venture between Volvo Cars and Zhejiang Geely Holding. The GM joint venture with Chinese automakers, which just unveiled its new Baojun electric vehicle, launched a no-questions-asked return policy within 30 days."   PLUG-IN CAR SALES IN THE NETHERLANDS INCREASED IN MARCH 2020 "Passenger car sales in the Netherlands went down by 25% in March, but that's not the case for plug-ins, which still managed to note some gains, despite the challenging situation." reports InsideEVs:"The total number of new passenger plug-in car registrations amounted to 5,102 at a year-over-year growth of 8%. More importantly, the plug-in share in the market expanded to 17%, and 14% were all-electric cars alone. Tesla Model 3 registrations amounted to 1,339 (the best result for the month) - enough to regain first place in the year-to-date rank, with 1,626 units total. It's pretty funny that in early 2020 we see Model 3 fighting for the win with... Opel Ampera-e (the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV). Opel is still selling a lot of Ampera-e under significant discounts to achieve its emission targets - 320 additional new registrations in March translated into 1,279 YTD and second place overall. But now the media attention seems less focused on the automakers infrastructure in China, and instead writing about the Long Range and Performance models soon to be made domestically, I wanted to look at the factory some more. Plenty of drone videos are still making their way online and the latest one show foundations are in for a large scale expansion. Indeed the massive car production facility should only be thought on as stage one. In fact this phase looks to my eye to be twice the size of the existing buildings. This is going to double production capability with Model Y production line going in. The Model 3 and Model Y could be sharing production facilities for some parts.  Given how many Model Y they could make from here, it coudl double global Model Y produciton. And the time of thise, I wonder if China could make more Model Y than Fremont. Talking of Phase 1, they're also extending the two current buildings, possible joining them up.   TESLA MODEL Y WIRING EFFICIENCIES QUESTIONED IN LATEST MUNRO TEARDOWN "Sandy Munro took the opportunity to show the Tesla Model Y’s new wiring structure, however, the Detroit automotive veteran noted to be “kind of disappointed” in some of its design." says Teslarati: "In July 2019, Tesla published a patent that aimed to improve the wiring, power, and communications systems for its vehicles by reducing the amount of wires found within a car. Tesla maintained it would be decreased from 1.5 kilometers of wire in the Model 3 to just 100 meters in the Model Y. Munro claimed he did not see less wiring, only a more organized wiring architecture. The new design is still an improvement from the Model 3."   He says "the wires are just as long". The EPA rated the Bentayga Hybrid as delivering 18 miles in all-electric range. It’s rated at 17 mpg city and 21 on the highway. Hätten Sie gewusst, dass Opel schon seit langen Jahren „elektrisch“ unterwegs ist. Klar, das waren anfangs Versuchs- und Erprobungsfahrzeuge, aber Fakt ist, dass Opel schon sehr früh die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt hat und „unter Strom“ stand. Das macht sich heute bezahlt!Darum geht es diesmal!Opel steht nicht erst seit gestern im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes „unter Strom!“ Zwar kommen mit dem neuen Corsa-e und dem Grandland X Plug-In-Hybrid gerade die neuesten Opel-Stromer auf die Straße. Zudem folgen in diesem Jahr noch der rein batterie-elektrische Transporter Opel Vivaro-e und der elektrifizierte Nachfolger des Mokka X, 2021 kommen Opel Combo-e, Opel Zafira-e Life sowie der Astra-Nachfolger dazu. Und bis 2024 werden dann alle Pkw- und Nutzfahrzeug-Baureihen elektrifiziert sein. Doch Opel kann auf eine lange Tradition an elektrisch betriebenen Versuchs-, Rekord- und Serienfahrzeugen zurückblicken. Damit gehört Opel zu den E-Pionieren der Branche. Los ging es im Jahr 1968 mit dem Kadett B Stir-Lec I. Er wies bereits das Prinzip des „Range Extenders“ auf, wie es später beim Opel Ampera in der Serie verwendet wird. Der Stir-Lec-Prototyp fährt rein elektrisch. Den Strom dafür liefert ein Stirling-Heißgasmotor im Heck, der einen Generator antreibt und so die 14 Bleibatterien vorne im Kadett speist. Nur drei Jahre später erzielt Georg von Opel, der Enkel des Firmengründers, mit einem 188 km/h schnellen Opel Elektro-GT sechs Elektromobil-Weltrekorde. Einen großen Schritt nach vorn macht die Forschungsarbeit mit dem Opel Impuls-Programm zwischen 1990 und 1997. Der Impuls I basiert auf dem Kadett, der Impuls II auf Astra Caravan-Basis. Mit dem HydroGen1 bringt Opel im Jahr 2000 die Brennstoffzelle in der Karosserie eines Zafira auf die Straße. Von Wasserstoff-Brennstoffzellen mit Strom versorgt, leistet der Drehstrom-Motor im HydroGen1 55 kW/75 PS bei einem Drehmoment von 251 Newtonmetern.Zur Serienreife gelangt der Elektroantrieb mit „Range-Extender“ 2011 im Opel Ampera, dem ersten voll alltags- und reisetauglichen Elektroauto für vier Personen. Immer wenn der Ladezustand der Batterie ein definiertes Minimum erreicht, schaltet sich der 63 kW/86 PS starke Benzinmotor automatisch ein und treibt einen Generator zur Stromversorgung des Elektromotors an. 2016/2017 folgt schließlich der Opel Ampera-e mit einer im Segment konkurrenzlosen rein elektrischen Reichweite von 423 Kilometer gemäß WLTP. Elektromobilität zum Anfassen: Vom 27.10. - 28.10.2018 fand das einzigartige e4Testival am Hockenheimring statt und wir waren mit BYTES 'N' BATTERIES - Dein eMobility-Podcast für euch am Start. Thema heute:    Fakten-Check Elektromobilität: 200.000er Marke wird 2018 durchbrochen   2010 rief die Bundesregierung das Ziel aus, mindestens eine Million Elektrofahrzeuge in Deutschland zulassen zu wollen. Das Ziel wird laut dem aktuellen Fakten-Check Elektromobilität von Horváth & Partners wohl erst 2022 erreicht. Doch 2018 könnte die Marke von 200.000 Elektrofahrzeugen durchbrochen werden. Zudem mehren sich die Anzeichen für eine deutlich höhere Entwicklungsdynamik in den kommenden Jahren.   123.000 Elektrofahrzeuge waren Ende 2017 in Deutschland zugelassen, davon rund 62.000 rein elektrisch. Dies entspricht einem Plus von knapp 80 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr – die Zuwachsrate lag seit 2012 erstmalig wieder über der durchschnittlichen Wachstumsrate der vorangegangenen drei Jahre. Wenn diese Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit beibehalten wird, ist das ursprünglich für 2020 ausgegebene Millionenziel der Bundesregierung, dessen Erfüllung Kanzlerin Merkel bereits im Mai 2017 als unrealistisch bezeichnete, Anfang 2022 erreicht. Dies ermittelten Experten der Managementberatung Horváth & Partners in ihrem jährlichen „Fakten-Check Mobilität 3.0“.  „Die hohe Wachstumsrate der Elektrofahrzeuge auf deutschen Straßen ist wirklich erfreulich - insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund, dass sich 2017 nur wenige Treiber der Elektromobilität positiv entwickelt haben“ stellt man beim Unternehmen fest. „Vor allem fehlt noch immer eine ausreichend ansprechende und wirtschaftlich attraktive Auswahl an Elektro-Modellen.“ Tatsächlich kam 2017 mit dem Opel Ampera-e lediglich ein neues reines Elektrofahrzeug auf den Markt. Die von vielen Automobilherstellern angekündigte Elektromobilitätsoffensive wird auch 2018 auf sich warten lassen. Von den renommierten Automobilherstellern will lediglich Audi mit dem Q5 e-tron Quattro Ende 2018 einen neuen reinen Elektro-SUV auf den Markt bringen. Frischen Wind in die Elektromobilität könnte zudem das für 2018 angekündigte rein elektrische Fahrzeug e.Go Life des deutschen Start-Up e.Go Mobile bringen. Dass aus Sicht der Experten die Marke von 200.000 Elektrofahrzeugen in Deutschland 2018 dennoch durchbrochen werden wird, liegt auf der einen Seite an der Einführung weiterer Plug-In Hybride, welche Verbrennungs- und Elektromotoren kombinieren, sowie an der Verbesserung bestehender Elektromobile. Der Opel Ampera-e wirkt noch immer wie ein Einhorn, wenn man ihm auf der Straße begegnet. Vom Chevy Bolt, seinem US-amerikanischen Bruder, gibt es mittlerweile einen für jeden, der gerne einen hätte. Aber bei Opel lief die Geschichte weniger erfolgreich - woran vor allem interessierte Kunden zu leiden haben. Denn der Ampera-e bietet so einiges. Vor allem einen Akku, der die Fahrer vergessen lässt, dass es so etwas wie Reichweitenangst geben soll, zudem gepaart mit ordentlicher DC-Schnellladefähigkeit. Mehr Alltagstauglichkeit als uns diese 60-kWh-Batterie bietet braucht nun wirklich kaum jemand.  Wir haben mit dem Ampera-e ordentlich Kilometer gesammelt und ziehen in dieser Episode ein Fazit zu dem Auto, an das man in Deutschland leider immer noch nur schwer ran kommt. Mit von der Partie ist Marcus, der unter anderem schon in der ersten Ampera-e-pisode zu Gast war.  Auch ansonsten gibt es viel zu erzählen: Marcel war beim nextmove DAY und durfte dort ein Tesla Model 3 über die Teststrecke jagen. Jakob fasst seine bisherigen Erfahrungen mit dem Nissan Leaf 2 zusammen, den er nun seit einem Monat täglich fährt. Renault lässt uns unsere Mietbatterien kaufen, wenn wir das denn wirklich wollen. Und während in Erfurt eine enorme Batteriefabrik entstehen wird und Tesla endlich den langersehnten Meilenstein in der Model-3-Produktion erreicht, rast VW (!) mit seinem Barchial-EV den Pikes Peak hinauf und setzt eine ordentliche Duftmarke. In dieser Episode waren wir zu Gast bei ChargeX, einem Start-up, das an einer neuen Idee arbeitet, um viele Elektroautos günstig und clever zu laden. Tobi Wagner und seine Mitstreiter sind Teil des Future Mobility Incubator von Volkswagen und entwickeln ihre clevere Ladelösung in der Gläsernen Manufaktur in Dresden. Mitten in der e-Golf-Produktion arbeitet ChargeX daran, in Ergänzung zur stark wachsenden Schnelllade-Infrastruktur einen weit größeren Markt zu erobern: Denn wo wollen wir unsere Fahrzeuge hauptsächlich laden können? Dort, wo sie herumstehen: Am Arbeitsplatz, beim Einkaufen oder an Flug- und Bahnhöfen. Wie sich das clever und günstig machen lässt, erklärt uns Tobi in dieser Sendung. Im Rahmen der CeBit am 13. Sunday 25th March 2018. TESLA ‘SLOW DOWN’   Elon Musk is having a killer week on social media. Well, Twitter. That would be because just joined the #deletefacebook movement and axed both the Tesla and SpaceX pages. Next he has been busy responding to comments and his mentions. The most recent being a response to an Electrek story within minutes of it going live. Electrek said Tesla is: “experiencing capacity issues so they are instead going through Gothenburg port and having to use more trucks to move the cars to its stores and service centres. According to several media reportsin Norway, over half a dozen of those trucks have been stopped by the authorities for a variety of safety reasons during inspections and one of the trucks that wasn’t stopped ended up in an accident. According to registration data, Tesla delivered only just over 300 vehicles in Norway during the first two months of the year, but it already delivered almost 1,000 vehicles in March with still one week to go. However then Electrek has to update the article as Elon directly replied to their article, despite Tesla’s already having issued an official statement. Elon said: “I have just asked our team to slow down deliveries. It is clear that we are exceeding the local logistics capacity due to batch build and delivery. Customer happiness & safety matter more than a few extra cars this quarter.” So can we read anything into “a few extra cars”. Does that mean they’re working hard to meet earnings call targets, or just that it’s the usual end of quarter increase?   FIVE EVS COLD WEATHER TESTED IN NORWAY  The Norwegian EV Association has tested five electric cars in winter weather to see how they coped. The cars they tested were the BMW i3, Hyundai Ioniq Electric, 2018 Nissan Leaf, Opel Ampera-e (aka Chevrolet Bolt EV) and Volkswagen e-Golf. Greencarreports noted: “The conclusion of the test drivers was that "none of the cars is best for all" drivers. The best car for an individual driver will depend on how it's used, and that buyer's tastes and desire for comfort and amenities. That said, the "most discussed" cars during the test were the Chevy Bolt EV-derived Opel Ampera-e and the Hyundai Ioniq Electric. The South Korean car, the testers noted, delivered almost as much effective range in cold weather as the new-generation Nissan Leaf (despite the difference in their EPA-rated ranges: 124 miles vs 151 miles). A further factor in the Hyundai's favour was its ability to fast-charge at up to 100 kilowatts under certain circumstances, higher than the 50-kw limit on the rest of the cars, including the new 2018 Leaf. And a side note on the LEAF, this week has seen Youtube videos of drivers who, after a couple of rapid charges, found the Battery Management System (BMS) slowing down their charge rates. With 20,000 new LEAFs sold you have to remember it’s a handful of people but, as they’re often EV enthusiasts, they also know a lot about what they’re talking about. I’m not going to comment as I have no first hand experience of it, but we’ll wait for a response from Nissan.   NEXT PORSCHE CAYENNE HYBRID ON VIDEO Porsche has confirmed in a Youtube video that the Cayenne will return in hybrid form, as part of their new redesigned model. Digitaltrends say: “expect the Cayenne to use the same plug-in hybrid powertrains offered in the Panamera. That means the standard model will get the setup from the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, including a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and eight speed dual-clutch transmission with integrated electric motor”   COBALT-NICKEL BATTERY According to New Scientist Magazine, German company BASF is also working on improved cobalt-nickel battery technology that will provide the sought-after experience of a charging station that works as quickly as a gas fill-up and which provides roughly 300 miles of range in a standard EV. “You will be able to recharge your electric sports car in the time it takes to drink a coffee, then drive 500 kilometers before needing to top up,” the magazine reported. When an EV requires no more investment in time and planning than a gas-powered car, and costs far less to operate, it will become a true game-changer for the automobile industry. It’s not here yet, but people all over the world are working on it and making progress.   EVS COULD POWER 300,000 UK HOMES Energy provider OVO published a report which, according to Renewable Energy Magazine: “Based on the number of Nissan LEAF electric cars on UK roads at present, the research found that new vehicle-to-grid chargers could enable the cars’ owners to contribute more than 114 MW to the National Grid at any time; enough to power approximately 300,000 homes. The research further showed that 38 percent of UK adults that own or intend to purchase a car in the next 12 months and were not aware that you could purchase this type of charger, would be more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they could use their car as a virtual power station.” And that’s interesting, because you can’t. It doesn’t matter if 100% of people were aware of V2G, I can’t pop down the shops and buy a box which runs my house from my LEAF.   I’d love to spread the word about electric cars so, if you can, share this somebody who might be interested. Der Opel Ampera-e ist angetreten, um das Thema Elektro-Autos in Deutschland einen Schritt nach vorne zu bringen. Geworben mit immenser Reichweite (NEFZ 520 km) und einem Preis ab ca. 35.000 Euro. Das gilt es natürlich etwas genauer zu beleuchten, denn von Marketing-Sprüchen auf Websites lässt sich schon lange niemand mehr blenden. eRUDA elektrisiert ... war das Motto der 4. "elektrisch rund um den Ammersee"-Rallye, die dieser Tage stattfand. Bei feinstem Spätsommerwetter fanden sich 135 Elektrofahrzeuge im bayerischen Fürstenfeldbruck ein, um entspannt knapp 100 km durch's Land zu fahren oder auf der 254 km langen eRUDA-Challenge zu beweisen, was 2016 in Sachen E-Mobilität machbar ist. Hinzu kamen nochmal 55 Fahrzeuge, die über zwei Sternfahrten zu den übrigen Teilnehmern stießen. Es gab viel zu sehen: Neben e-Bikes und Twikes, Elektro-Smarts, Zoes und BMW i3, den mittlerweile obligatorischen Tesla-Modellen sowie Opel Ampera oder Audi A3 etron und VW eGolf zogen auch Exoten die Blicke von Besuchern und Fahrern auf sich. Alleweder Velomobile, Kyburz Lastenräder, Motorräder von Zero und Brammo oder das e-Tuktuk der "Pilgreens"; es war einiges geboten. Informativ war das Ganze obendrein, denn den Auftakt machten Vorträge von 80eDays-Teilnehmer Andreas Rieger, Jona Christians von Sono Motors (siehe Episode 13) und anderen. Sono Motors Sono Motors ist ein Münchner Startup und entwickelt gerade den Sion - das erste serienmäßig Elektroauto, das seine Batterien durch die Sonne lädt. Die kleine Firma rund um Navina, Jona und Laurin sitzt im Herzen der Stadt und hat sich in den letzten Jahren viele Gedanken über Dinge gemacht, die uns Elektroautofahrer beschäftigen. Und heraus kamen viele gute Ideen: Zum Beispiel "viSono", die Austattung des Sion mit Solarzellen, die im Stand und während der Fahrt die Batterie laden und damit im Schnitt 30 km zusätzlicher Reichweite durch Sonnenenergie generieren. Oder "breSono": Ein einzigartiges Moos, das - integriert in das Armaturenbrett - Feinstaub filtert und die Luftfeuchtigkeit im Fahrzeug reguliert. Oder "reSono", worüber jeder Sion-Fahrer jedes Teil seines Autos per Mausklick nachbestellen und dann selbst einbauen oder vom Mechaniker um die Ecke kostengünstig einbauen lassen kann. Schnell-Ladung mit bis zu 43 kW, Nutzbarkeit des Akkus als Energiequelle, optionale Anhängerkupplung, 6 Sitzplätze, bis 250 km Reichweite und die schon genannten Innovationen ergeben ein sehr reizvolles Gesamtpaket. Finanziert wird der Bau des Fahrzeugs über eine Crowdfunding-Kampagne bei Indiegogo.
