He slams the left's usual accusation of “book banning” and emphasizes that the real issue is protecting children from sexually explicit material without parental consent. Guest Theresa Lintzenich, a local resident and parent advocate, joins the show to explain how the library board recently changed its policy for challenging books—but not enough. Theresa recalls challenging a graphic puberty book titled It's Perfectly Normal that included sexually explicit illustrations, including depictions of same-sex and opposite-sex acts. She explains the new policy allows residents like her to appeal to the Board of Trustees, but it still requires a supermajority (6 of 9 trustees) to actually remove any challenged books—making success highly unlikely unless the board makeup changes. Marc agrees the revision is an improvement but criticizes the board for not going far enough.
