Taylor Hill's life took an unexpected turn at the age of 14 when she was discovered at a dude ranch in Colorado. Born in Illinois but raised in the mountains of Colorado, Taylor grew up snowboarding and enjoying the outdoors with her family. Her mother, a former hairdresser turned stay-at-home mom, instilled in her a sense of creativity and diligence that would serve her well in her future career. That fateful day at the ranch, a photographer mistook Taylor and her siblings for hired models. Within 24 hours, she found herself shooting her first catalog for Belk. This serendipitous encounter launched her into the world of modeling, a career she hadn't previously considered. At 14, Taylor signed with IMG Models and began her whirlwind journey in the fashion industry. With her mother by her side, she navigated the complexities of the modeling world, learning to balance work and personal growth. As Taylor's modeling career soared, she became a familiar face in major fashion shows and campaigns. Her work with Victoria's Secret became a significant part of her journey, participating in their iconic fashion shows and growing alongside the brand as it evolved over the years.Throughout her modeling career, Taylor found a constant companion in her dog, Tate. This Labradoodle became more than just a pet; he was her soulmate and teacher, showing her the meaning of unconditional love and responsibility. Tate accompanied her to photoshoots in New York, becoming a beloved mascot in the fashion world.Tragically, Tate's battle with lymphoma opened Taylor's eyes to the gaps in the pet care industry. This experience inspired her to create Tate & Taylor, a company aimed at revolutionizing the pet space. Through this venture, Taylor seeks to blend her experiences in fashion and social media with her passion for pets, creating a platform that offers curated products, educational content, and a supportive community for pet owners.Today, Taylor continues to balance her successful modeling career with her entrepreneurial pursuits. She's set to return to the Victoria's Secret runway later this year, while also working tirelessly to grow Tate & Taylor.*The Founder Hour is brought to you by Outer. Outer makes the world's most beautiful, comfortable, innovative, and high-quality outdoor furniture - ALL from sustainable materials - and is the ONLY outdoor furniture with a patented built-in cover to make protecting it effortless. Often people remark how they would love to open a restaurant and from the outside looking in, there is an understandable appeal. After all, having a home court to greet old friends, meet new ones, celebrate special occasions, and moving around the room in charge, can look glamorous at times. But behind-the-scenes, what does it take to be a restaurateur operating at a higher level? This week's guests, Michael Vann and Alvin Clayton , both restaurateurs, self-made, and with careers in the fashion industry, provide a glimpse into the world of hospitality from a restaurateur's point of view. After working as an executive with Lord & Taylor in New York City, Chicago native Michael Vann pivoted to the hospitality industry starting as general manager at B. Smith's restaurant, working with the legendary B. Smith in the late 80s. From there, his entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to develop, own and operate several restaurants in New York City including the renowned Shark Bar, serving upscale soul food in the 1990's. Michael is currently in the process of establishing new locations for his most recent concept, Smitty & Mo's, a very popular fast casual restaurant. Alvin Clayton is a Trinidad-born restaurateur, artist, and model. He and his wife, Gwen, are the owners and operators of the award-winning Southern and Caribbean restaurant, Alvin and Friends, located in New Rochelle, New York.

A Career To Covet. Lisa Benson has a job many would want. The kind of job that begs the question “how did you get to do this?” As a Vice President at IMG Models, she’s a woman responsible for the fruitful careers of many, including supermodels Chrissy Teigen, Lily Aldridge, Chanel Iman, Hilary Rhoda, and more. She enjoys building her models into brands, and appreciates when they come to her with a holistic approach to the job. Lisa’s story is inspiring, and it’s a story of how dedication, loyalty, passion and hard work can get you very far. She started her career at IMG as receptionist, mastering the company’s buzzing switchboard, where every call was an important one, before being promoted to (now, company President) Ivan Bart’s assistant---a job she was simply determined to have. Lisa combines creativity, a business instinct, and a generous 24-7 approach to her work. She knows she’s able to do it well if she’s truly there for the models she represents, and many of them count her as not a trusted source that will help develop their career, but as a friend. We get into all the details of the work that she does, and her scrappy entry into the business. We discuss the skills needed, how she manages the innate pressure her job will bring, how social media plays a huge part in a model’s career, dealing with difficult people, diversity in the industry, the industry’s most sought-after jobs, her own favorite deals to work on, and how her industry will change for the future. We finish with the big question: what she’s looking forward to in the future. Model Jayne Moore and photographer Michael Sanders join us on this week’s episode of the B&H Photography Podcast to discuss the creative and collaborative process between model and photographer on a fashion campaign.  From “go-sees” and casting via Instagram to the rhythm of a shoot, working with on-set teams, lighting insights, and the dos and do nots of professional interaction, we discuss the P.O.V. from both sides of the lens. The thread that runs through our conversation, though, is how a photographer and a model work together to create the best images to please themselves and their clients. Jayne Moore is represented by IMG Models, and has appeared in Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Marie Claire and in ads for Calvin Klein and L’Oreal, among many others. She has worked with photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Dean Isidro, and Pamela Hanson, and brings to the conversation an incredible insight, not only to the work of a model, but also to the fashion industry in general and to the role a photographer should play. Michael Sanders is a return guest to our show and a regular contributor to Italian Elle magazine. His work can also be found in the international editions of Vogue, Glamour, and Marie Claire, and in the June, 2018 edition of U.S. Elle he photographed model Hailey Baldwin on the beaches of St. Lucia. Loaded with insight for photographers of any stripe and certainly for aspiring models or anyone interested in the creative fields, this is an enjoyable and informative chat. Danika leveraged her struggles by tuning in and focusing on self-care. Through her commitment to self-care, Danika has created freedom and abundance in all areas of her life and has manifested the life of her dreams. Once again, Linds and Krista bring on the best of the health, wellness, and body positivity industries. This week's guest is DANIKA BRYSHA, a curve model with IMG Models, the CEO of Model Meals, a leader in the health and wellness world, and an inspirational rockstar for everyone. Danika has been featured in InStyle, Shape, PopSugar, People, and many more publications. Her story has inspired thousands of women who are struggling with loving their body, their relationship with food and addiction, and transforming their lives. Danika shares her story, which starts at a young age, battling drug usage, fad chronic dieting, and being "the chubby girl", using her food to process her emotions. But that didn't stop her from being one of the busiest, most successful curve models in the world, after being discovered in a Bank of America. Needless to say, she took her insecurities and built a life for herself off of them. Some of the most useful food/body tips you'll ever hear from this episode are:   drop the FOOD RULES the answer to losing weight is "NOT trying to lose weight" it's never about the food, it's about YOU (your childhood, you mentality about yourself growing up, specific circumstances you were under) don't waste your energy on worrying about food, worry about YOUR DREAMS it's about how you FEEL after you eat food how much the MEDIA REALLY INFLUENCES the way you think about yourself

Even if you don’t know her name, you definitely know her face! Candice Huffine is a well-known model, represented by IMG Models, with a seemingly never-ending resumé. She has appeared in the pages of Vogue, W, and Glamour (and on the cover of Vogue Italia), has walked the runways at New York Fashion Week in shows for Christian Siriano, Sophie Theallet, and Prabal Gurung, starred in DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” music video, is in Target’s latest TV commercial, and was featured in Lane Bryant’s highly publicized “I’m No Angel” and “Plus is Equal” campaigns. She was also the first plus-size model to appear in the Pirelli Calendar. Candice is also a runner! She ran her first half marathon, the New York City Half Marathon, in 2016, and will be running it again this year to celebrate her one-year racing anniversary. Last year, Candice launched the Project Start initiative on Instagram, encouraging new runners to band together and empower each other. In November 2016, she appeared on the cover of Women’s Running magazine. Candice grew up in Washington, D.C., but now lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, Matt Powers, and their puppy, Jerry Brows. Apologies for Ellie barking in the background at the end. She really wanted to join the discussion about body image!
