If you're wondering how the heck my clients are eliminating overeating and judgmental thoughts, without going on another restrictive diet or giving up their 10pm ice cream…it's because they're rewiring all the sneaky ways diet culture still lives rent-free in their heads. >> It's about learning how to respond when the old patterns come roaring back. >> It's about WHAT TO DO when it's 9pm and you're standing in front of the pantry with zero hunger AND… It's about rebuilding trust with your hunger cues, ditching the food guilt, and embracing a life where dessert isn't a bad word. Which is precisely what I did with my client, whose relationship with food + her body (and her LIFE) changed massively in just under a year…all because she stuck with it when things felt hard. Together, we worked through 4 key areas where she got stuck along the way: 1️⃣

You've been doing “all the right things” for a few weeks. Eating better, moving your body but the scale hasn't budged. Sound familiar? That's not failure. That's normal. In this episode, we unpack the uncomfortable truth: healing and real transformation take time, often much longer than we want. You'll hear why quick fixes and crash diets set you up for disappointment, and why slow, steady progress is the only path to sustainable change. We'll talk about prepping your body before weight loss even begins, what to expect when you start eating more, and why discomfort (yes, including hunger and resistance) is part of the journey. I also share what it took for me to transform over two years and why I still don't believe in a “finish line.” If you're frustrated with your progress or tempted to give up after a few weeks, this episode will reframe everything. If you're eating clean, working out, and still not losing weight… your gut might be the missing piece. In today's episode, I'm breaking down 10 reasons why gut health directly impacts your metabolism, hormones, and ability to lose fat and why testing with a GI MAP could be the game-changer you've been missing. We'll talk about how certain gut infections like H. pylori or parasites keep your body in survival mode, signaling it to hold on to fat. You'll learn how your gut bacteria influence your cravings, blood sugar, and even your metabolism through short-chain fatty acids like butyrate. I'll explain why hidden gut inflammation can block fat loss and how slow digestion (aka not pooping daily) recirculates estrogen and toxins, stalling your progress. We'll also dive into how bad bacteria can steal essential nutrients you need for fat-burning, how gut health affects your thyroid function, and why your gut impacts not just your body, but your brain chemistry and motivation too. Plus, I'll explain why detoxing estrogen properly is key to shedding stubborn fat and how even the “perfect” diet won't work if your gut can't break down food and eliminate waste. This episode will help you see why your gut is the foundation of sustainable weight loss and why it's not just about willpower or cutting calories. If you're feeling stuck, testing your gut might be the missing link to get your body working with you again. This episode is part of Body Relationship Month — our special July series revisiting some of the most-loved episodes to help you heal your relationship with your body. If you want more self-worth or confidence, you have to give it to yourself. Stop making it contingent on a smaller body. The more we tie our self-worth to our body, the more uncomfortable we feel in our own skin. Instead of using food and exercise to meet our needs and help us feel our best, we end up using them as tools to control our body and our value. Any unwanted number on the scale can trigger a collapse in self-worth. To solve this, you have to separate your body from your body image — and start working on the latter. In this episode — “How to Handle Being Uncomfortable in Your Own Skin” — you'll learn:
Msg me "ACADEMY" for details on Your BINGE FREE Life Academy where you get personalized coaching & mentorship to becoming BINGE FREE for life.In this episode, I'm bringing on a special guest, Christine, who's been a powerhouse in her own transformation journey inside the Academy. From battling binge eating to embracing her intuition, boundaries, and self-love, Christine went from struggling with obsessing over what she was eating, using food for comfort when emotions hit to becoming empowered, grounded, and fully committed to a life where she is in the driver seat, not food.Christine shares her journey of going from the membership to the Academy, where she gained not only control over her relationship with food but also deeper insights into herself. This journey wasn't just about food, it's been about learning to listen to her body, set boundaries, and show up for herself in every area of her life. We talk about how she was able to normalize foods she once binged on (she had dried mangos in her pantry for 8 months and completely forgot that they were even there) and how she built a sustainable lifestyle that feels effortless and empowering.Key Takeaways:How committing to long-term growth leads to lasting transformation in your relationship with food. The power of trusting your intuition to make decisions that align with your true self. Why setting boundaries is key to emotional freedom and overcoming self-destructive behaviuors. How food becomes effortless when you stop seeing it as “good” or “bad” and instead tune into what your body needs.Real-life stories of how Christine was able to move beyond binge eating and become the confident, grounded woman she is today. She says "the best project I'll ever work on is myself"
Send us a textSkinny is back. With a vengeance. We're furious. Listen, we are very much speaking from a position of privilege in terms of both being in straight-sized bodies, but approaching fitness and health through an anti-oppressive and inclusive lens, this is simply not good news.Eating disorders and disordered eating are very much on the rise, as is body dissatisfaction, and the very sad truth is, is that there is no quick fix when it comes to our fitness, our bodies and indeed our confidence. Sure we can lose weight in the short term but what about sustainability. What about the impact of continual weight fluctuations on our health. Confidence is not waiting for us at our goal weight. There is nuance here. For some folks, the new GLP-1 drugs have been beneficial and more and more research is being done into their impact on binge eating disorders. We discuss all of this and more in today's episode. It is a spicy one and we'd absolutely LOVE your comments or feedback. We start the episode with the following quote from the wonderful Abbie Attwood:"There's something unbearably cruel about living in a world where millions of people go hungry because they have no choice, while millions more go hungry because they've been told that they should." Please reach out if you would like some support with your relationship to food OR movement. Ela currently has limited spaces for Intuitive Eating coaching and if you'd like to reconnect with movement, contact Christine.AND if you enjoyed this episode, please share and follow the 'Find Your Strong podcast' and if you have time, write us a short review. It would honestly mean the world. Love to you all, Ela & Christine x

If your body feels like it's stuck in stress mode no matter how “healthy” you try to be, your mindset might be the missing piece. In this episode, we're breaking down four common mental blocks that keep your hormones out of balance… and simple mindset shifts that can help you finally feel more at home in your body. We'll talk about how perfectionist thinking can actually keep your nervous system on edge and how focusing on small daily habits (à la James Clear's 1-degree plane shift) can create long-term change without burnout.Next up: guilt and shame. I'll share the stonecutter analogy that helps you swap shame for pride and consistency. We'll also explore how body frustration can morph into powerful gratitude when you zoom out including a powerful reframe I picked up from Alex Hormozi. And if you've ever felt like a single slip-up ruins your progress, you'll love the final mindset swap: learning to see those moments as tune-ups, not setbacks. Something I've had to lean into recently myself. These mindset upgrades aren't just motivational fluff. They lower stress, regulate your nervous system, and support better hormone balance over time.Whether you're deep in your healing journey or just getting started, these small mental shifts can make a big physical difference! This episode is part of Body Relationship Month — our special July series where we're revisiting some of our most-loved episodes to help you heal your relationship with your body. Many of us struggle to overcome society's message that you need to look a certain way to be valued. Adopting these messages (willingly or not) often creates debilitating battles with how we see our bodies. This negative body relationship can permeate nearly every aspect of life and diminish our entire experience. We end up living day after day with someone (ourselves) we don't accept, love, or appreciate unconditionally. And well… that sucks. But there are steps you can take to embrace your imperfections, accept yourself as-is, and still pursue your health and fitness goals. The result? Peace, freedom, and finally escaping a lifetime sentence in your food and body prison. In this episode — “Embracing Imperfection: How to Love Your Body at Every Stage” — you'll learn:

I've been getting a lot of questions lately as our following and show has grown such as: “What actually is a functional health approach to weight loss?” “Are labs like the GI Map or DUTCH test worth it?” “What do I even do with the results?” If you've ever thought, “I eat clean. I work out. I track my food. And yet… nothing's changing,” this episode is for you. In today's conversation, I open up about what I've learned after years of doing everything “right” and still feeling inflamed, exhausted, and stuck in a body that felt like it was working against me. We'll unpack the real reasons your body may be resisting fat loss, healing, and energy. To all the ill-informed men in my comments: It's not just discipline or willpower or eating less and moving more. You'll learn why functional testing can reveal what basic labs miss, and how systems like your gut, thyroid, liver, and adrenals all communicate in a connected “group chat”, where one disruption creates a cascade. I'll share the exact myths I had to break about weight loss, hormones, and healing and the turning point that finally helped me get real answers. This episode is about reconnecting with your body, learning to read its signals, and understanding that your symptoms aren't random, they're messages. You'll walk away with clarity, compassion for yourself, and hope that yes, this is fixable. If your body feels broken… this is the permission slip and path forward you've been waiting for. What if menopause wasn't something to endure, but something to embrace? After asking my Instagram community about the unexpected gifts of midlife, their answers revealed just how liberating this season can be. From deeper friendships and renewed creativity to freedom from dieting and people-pleasing, their stories echoed a powerful shift, and one rooted in self-awareness, strength, and permission to live more authentically. These insights inspired my new book, Eat to Thrive During Menopause, which blends intuitive eating with symptom-supportive nutrition. No tracking, no rules, just nourishment. Even though this is the Season 5 finale, this episode invites you to see menopause not as an ending, but as a new beginning.8 Like what you learned? You've been told to “just listen to your body”…But what if your body is sending mixed signals because your hormones are out of sync?In this episode, we're pulling back the curtain on the intuitive eating trend—and why it often backfires for women over 40. “You should listen to your body” — but what does that actually mean? In this episode, we're breaking down one of the most common (and confusing) pieces of advice in the intuitive eating space: how to actually understand how food makes you feel. If you've ever thought, “I want to listen to my body… but I have no idea what I'm listening for,” this one's for you. We walk through the real-life barriers that block us from tuning in — like busyness, distraction, diet rules, and self-worth — and then guide you through simple ways to reconnect with your internal cues. From digestive reactions to emotional responses, energy levels to satisfaction, we cover the full spectrum of physical and mental signals your body gives you after eating. In this episode: How to check in with simple prompts like “pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral?” What to notice beyond fullness: energy, mood, digestion, and more How to move from food rules to body trust Real-life examples (including some funny ones!) of how tuning in changes everything Whether you're just starting your intuitive eating journey or want to deepen your connection to your body, this episode will give you practical tools and new perspectives to explore.
