Not only do two of their albums reside amongst Rolling Stones Magazine's list of the Top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time (1980's Los Angeles and their 1981 follow-up Wild Gift), they just released the final album of their career--"Smoke and Fiction". And to be honest, it's arguably one of the best albums that they've released in years! John talks about that, their "Final Tour" (including their upcoming show at the Wilbur Theater in Boston on September 23rd), their fans, being produced by the late Ray Manzarek of The Doors, his bandmates (Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebreak) and much more! Over the course of her impressive career, Julianna Margulies has starred on some wildly popular television shows. She played Nurse Carol Haloway on the definitive medica drama, ER. She starred as the disgraced politician's wife, Alicia Florrick, in The Good Wife. And coming this September she'll be joining the stellar cast of “The Morning Show.” The award-winning actress, and producer, is going behind the scenes of some of those shows and taking a look at the impact of her nomadic childhood and upbringing in her memoir: “Sunshine Girl: An unexpected life.” On this episode of Next Question with Katie Couric, Katie and Julianna dive into all of that — Julianna's cross-continental childhood, her complicated hippie mom, the backlash she experienced leaving ER (and turning down a $27 million contract), why she just couldn't shake Alicia Florrick and so much more. Find out more about Julianna's memoir, “Sunshine Girl: An unexpected Life,” and where to get your copy at Penguin Random House. Just after 7pm, her car crashed into a tree. A witness spoke to her, offering help, which she refused. And then she vanished into thin air. Nobody has seen or heard from her since.  Everybody has a theory: The family knows more than they're saying, the police botched the case and are covering it up, Maura fled her life and started over in Canada. In my final year at SiriusXm I got to interview Tom Green who I had always been a fan of. He was really cool and we had a great connection so when I heard about his new project that included a van, a dog, lots of cameras and technology including a drone and also public land tours I thought "this is going to be awesome" and I began watching his new adventure on YouTube.com/TomGreen   His new podcast is great too. Def listen and subscribe to the Tom Green Interview    I hope you enjoy our conversation today.    Here is a bio I found of Tom online:    You know Tom Green from his innovative, anything-goes run as the most unpredictable personality on MTV, and his unforgettable, deliciously loony roles in uproarious film comedies including "Road Trip" and "Freddy Got Fingered.”  The multi-talented Canadian comedian, actor and broadcaster graced the cover of Rolling Stone, commandeered the coveted guest-host chair on "The Late Show with David Letterman," and conquered the World Wide Web with his free-wheeling, wildly popular internet talk show, Tom Green's House Tonight. That was followed by three seasons of the AXS-TV interview series Tom Green Live, the interactive variety show Tom Green’s Web-O-Vision at TomGreen.com, and The Tom Green Radio Show podcast via iTunes. Today, Tom tours across the country and beyond, performing standup at sold-out venues. He first captured his unique brand of onstage hilarity on video in his one-hour comedy special, Tom Green Live, taped at the Wilbur Theater in Boston. The program premiered on Showtime in early 2013 and continues to re-air on the premium cable channel, and is available on Netflix. In 2012, Tom headlined at the celebrated Edinburgh Comedy Festival to sold-out audiences and rave reviews. He has continued to tour the world, including shows that feature him performing rap music along with comedy, such as his recent gig at Snow Jam 2017 in British Columbia. Later this summer, Tom’s globe-spanning Comedy Road Trip 2017 will bring him to Israel, Ireland, Scotland, England, Holland, and Sweden. For more information regarding Tom’s standup dates, please visit: http://tomgreen.com/comedy-tour Please consider a paid subscription to this daily podcast. Everyday I will interview 2 or more expert guests on a wide range of issues. I will continue to be transparent about my life, issues and vulnerabilities in hopes we can relate, connect and grow together. The show makes a major announcement about a certain thrice-delayed live show (0:21:00). Kirk recaps the greatest hits from former Vice President Joe Biden's CNN drive-in town hall (0:30:00). Kirk and Steve get into the nature of the friendships between the members of the show (0:43:00). Showtime has released the trailer for their new political drama all about President Trump and former FBI Director James Comey (0:47:00). On host Bobby Manning's 20th birthday, it's hard to believe 2008 is ten years in the rearview, and even harder to imagine where the team stands. It's become Ray Allen vs. the rest of the 08 champs, entrenched in their positions in a feud that seems far from over. Before we hit on that, Brian Robb dug into a wildly intriguing Celtics team that seems to bounce back harder with every body that goes down. He breaks down Jaylen Brown's game-winner, rates Brad Steven's coach of the year candidacy (he should win) and explains what makes his matchup-oriented approach so effective. We also talk Terry Rozier, injury updates and lineups. Then Nick Gelso drops some knowledge from Ray Allen's interview in Boston at the Wilbur Theater, which was half empty. Allen took to First Take and said Heat-Celts wasn't a rivalry, he never called his teammates before leaving and Rajon Rondo and him still don't talk. When will this madness end?

The Root was an important concept to Bruce Lee. The Root is where real knowledge and real personal expression can spring from, the starting point and essence of “Who am I?” “What we are after is the root and not the branches. The root is the real knowledge and the branches are surface knowledge. Real knowledge breeds “body feel” and personal expression, and surface knowledge breeds mechanical conditioning, and imposing limitation and it squelches creativity.” “The Root is the fulcrum on which will rest the expression of your soul. The Root is the starting point of all natural manifestation. It cannot be when the root is neglected that what should spring from it will be well ordered.” Your body is the vehicle through which you manifest everything, even your thoughts. When we neglect the vehicle that holds our vital energy then we can get ungrounded. Bruce Lee was integrated with mind, body, spirit and his body was in service to his greater Purpose in this world. Even if your path in life is not of an athlete or martial artist like Bruce Lee, you still need your body to carry out your plans, dreams, and to move through the world. “The Root is the foundation and the Root is the knowing, it’s the inner wisdom that you have.” Your body is sending you signals all the time, and gives you a definite feeling about questions you ask yourself. You can use your body as a divining rod to gauge your true feelings about a situation or a decision. Bruce was directed by his heart--his love, passion, and joy were all strengthening his Root. “When I look around I always learn something, and that is, to be always yourself and to express yourself, to have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it, but start from the very root of your being which is: How can I be me?” “This achieving the center, being grounded in oneself is about the highest state a human being can achieve.” “We realize that manipulation and control are not the ultimate joy in life, to become real, to learn to take a stand, to develop one’s center to the support of our total personality, a release to spontaneity, yes, yes, yes.” Take Action: If you’re feeling unrooted, think of the last time that you felt in tune with your body--when was that? Write down the memories, you’ll likely see a pattern. Identify discomfort in your body, aches or anxiety, where and when do you feel this way? Another exercise: write down the answer to “How can I be me?” Keep asking yourself this over time as it is answered differently as you grow. If you’d like to share how you’re doing with this action item you can email us at hello@brucelee.com #AAHA (Awesome Asians and Hapas) This week our #AAHA is Aziz Ansari, American actor and comedian. So the phrase "aid station to aid station" came to represent the ideas both of reducing a larger challenge into smaller ones, and also that we can't do this alone.” Share your #AAHAs and #BruceLeeMoments with us via social media @BruceLee or email us at hello@brucelee.com

Born an anchor baby in London, Mehran single-handedly rescued his Iranian family from the Ayatollah Khomeini. Ever gracious, teenage Mehran evened the score in the United States by dropping out of college and taking up homosexuality. Honing his sharp sense of the absurd while working at Harvard University, Mehran's early experience navigating regime change came in handy when he personally escorted deposed president Larry Summers off the property. He would later go on to produce several successful shows with the University-affiliated Oberon Theater. A quick riser in the Boston comedy scene, Mehran was named Best Comedian in Boston by the Boston Phoenix, and was a two time finalist in the International Boston Comedy Festival. At Emerson College's Semel Theater, Mehran recorded a half hour of comedy for Die Laughing, produced by Friends co-creator, Kevin Bright. Mehran has opened for such acts as Maz Jobrani, Tom Green and Eugene Mirman. He works regularly with some of the hottest up-and-comers in comedy and has been in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival for the last four years. He has played to crowds of thousands at leading venues, like the Wilbur Theater, the Berklee Performance Center, and the Lisner Auditorium and has toured extensively at colleges and universities. A leading MC in the emerging neo-burlesque scene, Mehran plays to an audience of 30,000 each December at the historic Somerville Theater. Summary of today's show: Three priests from Northern Ireland–two brothers and a childhood friend–share their musical talent as the musical group The Priests, and have recorded two albums, the first of which went to number 1 in Ireland and other countries. The Priests will be performing on Monday, May 7, in Boston and Scot Landry interview Fr. Eugene O'Hagan on the challenge of being simultaneously a parish priest and a touring recording star, and what was in the water of their childhood village that brought the three young boys not just to the priesthood together, but musical stardom as well. Listen to the show: Today's host(s): Scot Landry Today's guest(s): Fr. Eugene O'Hagan of The Priests Links from today's show: Today's topics: The Priests, a classical musical group of 3 priests from Northern Ireland 1st segment: Scot said today is the one-year anniversary of the dedication of the radio studio to the newly beatified Pope John Paul II. Today is also a celebration of Catholic radio on WQOM. Scot and Rick Heil talked about the value and importance of Catholic radio. Today is a fund drive for WQOM and he encouraged listeners to keep Catholic radio on the air. 2nd segment: Scot welcomed Fr. Eugene O'Hagan to the show. Fr. Eugene is a pastor in Northern Ireland, but he is part of a touring group of musical priests called The Priests. They will be in Boston on May 7. The three priests are Fr. Eugene, his brother Fr. Martin O'Hagan, and Fr. David Delargy. They discussed some of the American locations they've already visited on the tour. Neither of the O'Hagans have been to Boston although Fr. David has. Scot asked how three parish priests find the time to record music and gon on a several week tour in the US. Fr. Eugene said it takes planning well in advance. They had the good grace and help of their fellow priests and parishioners. They're taking it out of their annual vacations. Many parishioners feel very involved by following along with their travel on the website. Scot said he senses that the priests have not just their vocation, but also an avocation to music. Fr. Eugene said it came from their appreciation for the gift of music that the Church has encouraged in their lives from their time as seminarians. When they began their journey to the priesthood, the seminary recognized that it be could for them to develop their musical talents and encouraged them to do so. Over the years, they've always been involved in music to encourage others to take part in worship. They made their first album in 2008 and saw it as part of Pope John Paul II's call to put out into the deep of the culture. They will be performing at the Wilbur Theatre this coming Monday. Break for fund drive banter. . Two listeners who donate this hour were to win a pair of tickets to The Priests at the Wilbur Theater. 3rd segment: Scot said the album rose to number 1 in Ireland and a number of other countries. In the US it got to 66. He asked Fr. Eugene what it says about the beauty of Church music's resonance with young people today. Fr. Eugene said they had the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing and they performed one part in St. Peter's Basilica, which helped a lot. He said they sang traditional hymns that reached Catholic and non-Catholic alike. There are still lots of people looking for the spiritual and this musical contribution was a form of gentle evangelization. It got people curious about who these priests were and whether they were really or good or just a PR stunt. Scot noted that the royalties for concerts and CD sales go to their charitable foundation. Fr. Eugene said they fund educational projects, including ones in Uganda, Thailand, and Cambodia. He said the actual work is done by the Mercy Sisters and Jesuits who are working in those areas. They also support Sightsavers International, who help the blind. They are conscious of supporting Catholic organizations, but not just exclusively Catholic ones. Break for fund drive banter. . Two listeners who donate this hour were to win a pair of tickets to The Priests at the Wilbur Theater. 4th segment: Fr. Eugene talked about many of the amazing venues in which they've performed, like St. Albert's Hall in London. Scot asked how his parishioners react to having a priest who has such a large international profile. Fr. Eugene said today when priesthood is in the press so much, some good and some bad, they are in a position to present a different side of the priesthood than what people perceive it to be. He said they acknowledge the challenges of the priesthood, but all priests try to live their vocations to the best of their ability. They are able to do it through the support of their parishioners. They all recognize it's a hugely important opportunity. Scot asked how these three men, two brothers and their childhood friend, all from the same village were able to have such musical talent that blossomed in their priesthood. He said they were blessed to have encouraging parents, teachers, priests, and in the seminary. He noted their musical teacher, a religious sister, who was a dynamo of enthusiasm who got them all involved in music. They were blessed to have received that encouragement from those put in their lives at the right time, to fulfill themselves to the best of their ability and to reach their potential. He says concertgoers will experience humanity, Irish site, and banter. People often tell them they look happy and comfortable onstage and they start the concerts by making the audience equally comfortable. An old music teacher told them there's no reason to go on stage if they look like it's a burden. Break for fund drive banter. . Two listeners who donate this hour were to win a pair of tickets to The Priests at the Wilbur Theater.
