In this episode of Gracias, Come Again, we sit down with actor, comedian, and stand-up comic Jason Andors, a New York City native whose career has spanned decades in the U.S. comedy and acting world, and who is now going viral across the Dominican Republic under his beloved alter ego, El Tiguere Vacano. Jason takes us back to his upbringing in NYC, born to Jewish parents but raised in a city that shaped his deep connection to Black and Latino culture. He opens up about a journey that surprises many, from being a trained ballet dancer, to performing on the Black comedy circuit, to ultimately finding a second home and a second chapter in the Dominican Republic. We go all the way into la cultura. Jason talks about how he fell in love with the DR, how the island embraced him right back, and how he now lives there part-time creating viral content that Dominicans genuinely love. He shares stories of acting alongside legendary Dominican actor Manny Perez, finding real love on the island, his appreciation for Dominican women and Dominican food, and even how he got his two elderly Jewish parents to jump into skits that ended up going viral. The conversation also highlights his nonprofit work and his deep commitment to giving back to the Dominican Republic through building homes, giving away toys, and supporting communities in need. Jason speaks from the heart about why his desire to give back to the island is bigger than words, and how important it is for him to show respect, not exploitation. We talk about the moment he decided to fully lean into becoming “Dominican,” from doing dembow, to immersing himself in neighborhoods that even some locals avoid, all in the name of understanding the culture from the inside out. Jason also shares what it was like being a judge on Dominicana's Got Talent, and how surreal it feels to be embraced everywhere he goes, with fans stopping him for photos and love. This episode is funny, honest, and deeply cultural. It shows how Dominicans and Latinos embrace anyone who truly loves and respects the culture, and how Jason Andors is not playing Dominican culture, he is living in it, celebrating it, and making people laugh along the way.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What if the story we've been telling artists is wrong? What if you don't actually have to choose between financial stability and the thing you love most?In this episode, I sit down with actor turned entrepreneur Sarah Kleist to talk about the toxic myth of the “starving artist” and why performers are uniquely equipped to build creative businesses that support their art instead of competing with it.Sarah is a musical theater performer living in New York City who also runs a thriving web design and branding business for creatives. In 1927, four year old Billy Gaffney disappeared from his New York City apartment building while playing in the hallway. When questioned, the only other child present gave a chilling response, saying “the boogeyman took him.” Billy was never seen again, and at the time, no one understood what those words truly meant.A year later, a man using the name Frank Howard gained the trust of the Budd family after responding to a job advertisement. Presenting himself as a harmless farmer, he convinced them to let their ten year old daughter, Gracie Budd, accompany him to what he claimed was a birthday gathering. She never returned.Years later, a letter sent to Gracie's mother revealed disturbing details that only the person responsible could have known. The correspondence led authorities to Albert Fish, a man already linked to multiple child disappearances across the country. At trial, Fish confessed to numerous crimes. His insanity defense was rejected, and in 1936 he was executed at Sing Sing Prison. Nearly a century later, the Albert Fish case remains one of the most unsettling chapters in American criminal history.Follow True Crime Recaps for weekly cases that explore the darkest corners of history and the justice system.

Send us a textThis episode of "Not Well" is a brutally honest, stream-of-consciousness conversation about navigating gay life in your 30s with all its contradictions and anxieties. The hosts dive deep into the psychological aftermath of major weight loss, discussing how losing 65-70 pounds has paradoxically made one of them feel less attractive in gay spaces—getting way more attention as a bigger bear than as a slimmer guy. They question whether it's the weight, aging, or just a combination of everything that's changed the dynamic when walking into bars. The conversation spirals through modern absurdities: how delusional confidence seems to be the key to success (citing the Hawk Tuah girl making $15 million), generational differences in handling internet fame, and why their generation can't just embrace the chaos like younger people do. They touch on practical frustrations like airplane etiquette—specifically calling out first-class passengers who put backpacks in overhead bins—and the hilarious reality that TSA agents will move weed gummies aside to check electronics. The episode gets vulnerable discussing body dysmorphia, balding, potential thyroid issues, and the complex relationship with hookup culture. One host reveals he actually needs emotional connection before sex and hates the idea of planned "sex dates," despite being perfectly fine with spontaneous bathroom encounters or random basement hookups. It's a fascinating contradiction that speaks to the difference between performative sexuality and genuine desire.Throughout, there's constant self-awareness about their modest podcast success (hundreds of listeners, not thousands), frustration with social media narcissism, and the ongoing struggle to stay motivated during cold weather. The tone is profane, self-deprecating, and refreshingly authentic—two friends processing their lives out loud without filter.Support the showAs always you can write us at nowellpodcast@gmail.com or call us at (614) 721-5336 and tell us your Not Wells of the week InstagramTwitterBobby's Only FansHelp us continue to grow and create amazing content, like a live tour or just help fund some new headphones when needed. 700 ICE Agents Out of Minnesota. Navy Downs Iranian Drone. Brutal Testimonies of ICE Abuses. Huge Layoffs at Washington Post. Measles Outbreak at Texas ICE Jail. Strap in! Former INDEPENDENT Minnesota Governor, pro wrestler, actor, Navy SEAL and all‑around badass Jesse “The Body” Ventura is finally on the pod—and he's not holding anything back. In this news-making new episode of Independent Americans, Ventura joins host Paul Rieckhoff for an extended, uncensored and exclusive conversation about Trump's ICE crackdown in Minneapolis, the raid on his own Roosevelt High School, January 6th, and why he believes America chose “the criminal over the Constitution.” He shares raw stories about his Vietnam service and his parents' World War II heroism, explaining why that family history gives him license to call Trump's ICE “the Gestapo” and accuse them of trampling core constitutional rights in his hometown. Ventura also pulls back the curtain on his personal history with Donald Trump—from Trump flying to Minnesota after Jesse's 1998 upset win, to their surreal New York dinner in NYC with a movie star that will surprise you, to how Trump “stole” Jesse's outsider playbook to capture the GOP instead of building a truly independent movement. He blasts Trump's WWE Hall of Fame spot, calls out fake tough‑guy politics, reacts to a planned UFC event at the White House, and warns about the danger of Trump invoking the Insurrection Act and turning the U.S. military on American citizens. At the same time, he highlights rising resistance in Minneapolis and beyond, as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Morello and artists, young people and veterans of all kinds push back against ICE abuses and democratic backsliding. Looking forward, Ventura breaks down exactly how he won the governorship as an independent against the two major parties, the two things he thinks are key for independents to win, and how independent vets can follow his blueprint today through Independent Veterans of America. He talks about recruiting big‑name independents, the explosive growth of independents nationwide, and even floats a wild scenario that could send him to the U.S. Senate to confront Trump world from the inside. If you're part of the 45% of Americans who are independent—or just independent‑curious—and you miss hearing Jesse Ventura tell stories like only he can, this is your must‑hear episode of Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff. As AI and LLMs commoditize Wall Street research, Lindzon highlights how social sentiment has become the last remaining edge for the modern trader. This shift is central to his Social Relative Strength framework for spotting overlooked assets, a strategy he uses to explain why the retail crowd is currently front-running a debasement trade in gold and silver, even ahead of bitcoin. - Timecodes: 0:54 - Defining the Degenerate Economy in 2026 2:45 - The Evolution of StockTwits and Social Trading 3:30 - The Impact of AI on Research and Trading 6:38 - The shift from Globalization to Deglobalization 9:13 - AI Agents and the Future of Retail Trading - This episode was hosted by Jennifer Sanasie and Andy Baehr.
Ben Domenech dives into the high stakes of the Super Bowl, exploring the $2 billion gambling surge and the national security risks posed by unregulated prediction markets. He is joined by New York Post correspondent Lydia Moynihan to discuss the "quality of life" collapse in NYC under socialist policies, the tragic consequences of ending forced-shelter laws for the homeless, and the ongoing media battle over ICE operations in Minnesota. The conversation shifts to the culture war in cinema with film producer Dallas Sonnier, who breaks down the making of the Daily Wire's epic seriesThe Pendragon Cycle. Sonnier details why Hollywood's "ideological bankruptcy" has created a vacuum for conservative creators and explains his commitment to practical effects over "AI slop". Ben concludes with a sharp critique of the Washington Post following a massive wave of layoffs and the shuttering of its iconic sports section.

Senator Rick Scott calls into the show to re-emphasize the contrast between his home state, Florida, and New York City, which is falling into Mayor Zohran Mamdani's disgusting abyss of socialism, which apparently means piles of dirty snow and trash leaking into the streets for weeks on end. Scott also dives into the now resolved short-lived government shutdown and why the Save America Act is of the utmost importance. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Katherine Wela Bogen has captivated the internet with the Hot Chef Saga. So I was nervous I might burst her bubble when asking about her whirlwind, long-distance, new romance with a Parisian chef who she identified as her future husband after one date. Who hasn't been there? But how often does that work out? Dammit if she doesn't look the happiest when she's invited to speak about this man, and it makes me miss when I've made a woman smile that wide without having to curl my fingers. I really liked this one. I hope you will, too. All Shook Up: A Novel by Enid Langbert https://www.amazon.com/All-Shook-Up-Enid-Langbert/dp/1684632641 Enidlangbert.com This YA debut speaks to the continued interest in the teen culture of the 1950s—Elvis Presley, teenage rebellion—with a young girl embarking on adventure and music, ultimately uncovering family secrets. Being fourteen is especially hard in 1956, when the world is changing around you. Honor student Paula Levy was born into a family of historical victims: her mother's youth was lost in the Depression and her father's was destroyed in the Holocaust, an as-yet-unnamed event about which no one speaks. But Paula has heard the new music taking hold of the nation—rock and roll—and it has given her hope. And she has two friends to get her through life's ups and downs: Holden Caulfield, hero of Catcher in the Rye, who shares her view of the world, and Barbara, a “cool” girl in her high school who unexpectedly shares Paula's view of Holden. Paula's mother is not a fan of Barbara, and she prohibits her daughter from associating with her. Paula manages to get around her mother's rule and see Barbara anyway—but when Paula asks the wrong questions about her father's past and Barbara is caught with her “boyfriend,” their private world of Holden, rock, and Elvis Presley crumbles. Angry with the adults in their lives, the two girls run away to find Barbara's real father, a jazz musician. Disappointingly, he does not live in a mansion or socialize with Elvis—but Paula and Barbara may find something even better. About the author Enid Wolfe Langbert was not as adventurous as her protagonist, Paula, in high school, but she made up for it in the sixties by marching, sitting in, and raging against segregation and the war while, in her spare time, raising three children. Eventually, she went to law school. She loved zealously advocating for her clients as an attorney, whether they deserved it or not, until her husband became ill and she closed her practice to care for him. After he passed, she traveled widely and enrolled in an English literature master's program. She is now writing her thesis, tracing the influence of James Joyce's legal issues on his writing of Finnegans Wake—a topic about which she is unambiguously passionate. Enid lives in New York City.

DMC sits down with Metal Walt for a deep dive into his heavy metal and hard rock origins — from the music he heard growing up to discovering the power of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. In this wide-ranging conversation, DMC explains how rock music was already embedded in early hip-hop culture, why songs like “Rock Box” proved that rock was part of Run-DMC's DNA from the start, and how that foundation eventually led him to create metal and hard rock music in his own lane. The interview also touches on DMC's 2026 solo metal single “She Gets Me High,” his connection to NYC hardcore, playing with Agnostic Front, performing with Sammy Hagar, and opening for Lou Reed — reinforcing a lifelong relationship with rock, metal, and underground culture. 00:00 Show Open & Pre-Roll Tease 02:12 What Music Sounded Like in DMC's House Growing Up 03:47 Discovering Rock on WABC and the First Metal Obsession (Black Sabbath) 07:00 Rock and Early Hip-Hop Culture — DJs, Crates, and Crossover 09:12 “Rock Box” and Why Rock Was Always in Run-DMC's DNA 12:05 “Walk This Way” — History, Impact, and the Permission Moment 23:14 When DMC Decided to Start Making Rock Music 25:59 DMC and the HellRaisers — Live Reactions and Reality 29:14 Rock DNA Across Classic Run-DMC Songs (King of Rock, It's Tricky, Mary, Mary, Why You Buggin') 34:06 “She Gets Me High” — DMC's Solo Metal Direction and Lineup 45:02 Hardcore Roots — Agnostic Front, NYC, and Underground Energy 54:11 Legacy, Creativity, and What DMC Is About Today 01:07:11 Wrap-Up & Where to Follow DMC Metal Mayhem ROC Website: https://metalmayhemroc.com/ DMC Website: https://thekingdmc.com/ Learn more about your ad choices. Dr. Aaron Zelikovich discusses recent survey findings highlighting the wide variability in how clinicians evaluate and diagnose small fiber neuropathy. Fill out the Neurology® Clinical Practice Current survey. Show citation: Thawani S, Chan M, Ostendorf T, et al. How Well do We Evaluate Small Fiber Neuropathy?: A Survey of American Academy of Neurology Members. J Clin Neuromuscul Dis. 2025;26(4):184-195. Published 2025 Jun 2. doi:10.1097/CND.0000000000000502 Show transcript: Dr. Aaron Zelikovich: Welcome to today's Neurology Minute. My name is Aaron Zelikovich, a neuromuscular specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Today, we will discuss a recent article, How Well Do We Evaluate Small Fiber Neuropathy? A survey of The American Academy of Neurology members, which evaluates small fiber neuropathy in clinical practice. The current landscape of evaluating and testing for small fiber neuropathy remains highly variable in regards to serum testing, skin biopsy, and nerve conduction studies. In this survey study, 800 members of The American Academy of Neurology were randomly selected and emailed a survey. 400 neuromuscular physicians and 400 non-neuromuscular physicians were selected. The overall response rate was 30% with half of the completed surveys coming from neuromuscular physicians. The most common overall initial blood work for this patient population was a CBC, vitamin B12, basic metabolic profile, TSH, and hemoglobin A1C. Other high yield blood tests included ESR, SPEP, immunofixation, and ANA. 70% of responders would also order a nerve conduction study as part of the initial workup. Second line evaluation had less consensus and included skin biopsies for intraepidermal nerve fiber density, hepatitis panel, HIV, and paraneoplastic testing. Responders noted that if the patient had acute onset of symptoms, had symptoms that were asymmetric, or being under 30 years old, they would order a more extensive workup. The authors discussed the importance of both clinical exam, history, and diagnostic workup in patients with symptoms compatible with small fiber neuropathy. They highlight that there is no current objective gold standard for a diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy. The current diagnostic recommendation by the AAN for distal symmetric polyneuropathy includes serum blood sampling for glucose, vitamin B12, SPEP, and immunofixation. Clinical practice in the diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy remains highly variable based on the provider and clinical context of the patient. Neurology Practice Current is currently accepting surveys on clinical practice patterns for patients with small fiber neuropathy. Please check out the link in today's Neurology Minute to complete the survey. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Alt-R&B artist rum.gold joins host Matt Whyte with Dr. Nim Tottenham, Chair of Psychology at Columbia University, for a live taping centered on his song and video “Is It Something I Said.” What begins as a conversation about a music video portraying a mother and son living with anxiety, grief, and hoarding becomes a striking window into Dr. Tottenham's research on how early caregiving and stress shape the developing brain — and how those early emotional environments can echo into adulthood as anxiety, attachment struggles, and dysregulation. Taped live at Ludlow House in NYC on January 27, 2026 as part of the On Air presents series.
