He directs the Northwest Center to Reduce Oral Health Disparities. He holds academic appointments at Case Western University, University of Rochester, and University of California, San Francisco. He maintains a dental practice limited to the care of fearful patients and served as Director of the UW Dental Fears Research Clinic. Dr. Milgrom's work includes research on xylitol, the effectiveness of fluoride varnish and iodine in preschoolers, clinical efficacy and safety of diammine silver fluoride, motivational strategies to increase perinatal and well child dental visits in rural communities, and studies of cognitive interventions in pediatric and adult dental fear. The NIH, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, HRSA, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation support his work. Dr. Milgrom is author of 5 books and over 300 scientific articles. His latest book, Treating Fearful Dental Patients, was published in 2009. Dr. Milgrom was Distinguished Dental Behavioral Scientist of the International Association for Dental Research for 1999. In 1999, and again in 2000, his work was recognized by the Giddon Award for research in the behavioral sciences in Dentistry. He received the Barrows Milk Award from IADR in 2000, recognizing his work for public health including the development of the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) program in Washington State. In 2003, Dr. Milgrom received a Special Commendation Award from the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association and the University of Washington Medical Center Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award. In 2010, he received the Aubrey Sheiham Research Award for his work on xylitol. He serves on scientific review committees for the NIDCR, NIMHHD, NINDS, Center for Scientific Review at NIH and as a consultant to the FDA. In 2005, Dr. Milgrom was appointed the SAAD Visiting Professor of Pain and Anxiety Control at the King's College Dental Institute, University of London, UK for a six-year term. In 2008 he was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Bergen, Norway in recognition of his work in social and behavioral dentistry. In 2012, he received the University of California, San Francisco Dental Alumni Gold Medal for his contributions to Dentistry. In 2012 he was also awarded the Norton Ross Award for Excellence in Clinical Research by the American Dental Association. In 2013, he was appointed to the Council of Scientific Affairs of the American Dental Association. In 2014, he received the Irwin M. Mandel Distinguished Mentor Award from the IADR. In 2015, he served as HMDP Expert in Dental Public Health for the Singapore Ministry of Health. Dr. Milgrom received his DDS from the University of California, San Francisco in 1972 and had a previous position at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. In the last few years, Dr. Milgrom has spoken to dental associations in Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Philippines, and USA and at major universities in USA and abroad.
In this episode, we go through the role of histamine within the gastrointestinal tract, exploring its regulation of gastric acid secretion and impact on intestinal motility. We examine how histamine-producing enterochromaffin-like (ECL) cells, mast cells, and gut microbiota contribute to histaminergic signaling, and how enzymatic degradation via diamine oxidase (DAO) maintains homeostasis. Histamine intolerance is a growing concern, but confusion still surrounds its prevalence, diagnosis and treatment. Certainly histamine is far more than a biogenic amine which causes runny nose, flushing and other allergy symptoms. Indeed, histamine is involved in a diverse array of metabolic processes from regulation of temperature, normal sebum production and stomach acid release to estrogen metabolism, acne, brain fog and a multitude of gastrointestinal symptoms often ascribed to other conditions. He directs the Northwest Center to Reduce Oral Health Disparities. He holds academic appointments at Case Western University, University of Rochester, and University of California, San Francisco. He maintains a dental practice limited to the care of fearful patients and served as Director of the UW Dental Fears Research Clinic. Dr. Milgrom's work includes research on xylitol, the effectiveness of fluoride varnish and iodine in preschoolers, clinical efficacy and safety of diammine silver fluoride, motivational strategies to increase perinatal and well child dental visits in rural communities, and studies of cognitive interventions in pediatric and adult dental fear. The NIH, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, HRSA, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation support his work. Dr. Milgrom is author of 5 books and over 300 scientific articles. His latest book, Treating Fearful Dental Patients, was published in 2009. Dr. Milgrom was Distinguished Dental Behavioral Scientist of the International Association for Dental Research for 1999. In 1999, and again in 2000, his work was recognized by the Giddon Award for research in the behavioral sciences in Dentistry. He received the Barrows Milk Award from IADR in 2000, recognizing his work for public health including the development of the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) program in Washington State. In 2003, Dr. Milgrom received a Special Commendation Award from the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association and the University of Washington Medical Center Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award. In 2010, he received the Aubrey Sheiham Research Award for his work on xylitol. He serves on scientific review committees for the NIDCR, NIMHHD, NINDS, Center for Scientific Review at NIH and as a consultant to the FDA. In 2005, Dr. Milgrom was appointed the SAAD Visiting Professor of Pain and Anxiety Control at the King's College Dental Institute, University of London, UK for a six-year term. In 2008 he was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Bergen, Norway in recognition of his work in social and behavioral dentistry. In 2012, he received the University of California, San Francisco Dental Alumni Gold Medal for his contributions to Dentistry. In 2012 he was also awarded the Norton Ross Award for Excellence in Clinical Research by the American Dental Association. In 2013, he was appointed to the Council of Scientific Affairs of the American Dental Association. In 2014, he received the Irwin M. Mandel Distinguished Mentor Award from the IADR. In 2015, he served as HMDP Expert in Dental Public Health for the Singapore Ministry of Health. Regista spesso retorico e che talvolta sembra tradire le sue origini ma che accetta sempre nuove sfide e che di sicuro ama per davvero la Settima Arte, crescendo e facendo sognare generazioni di spettatori. Dopo tanti successi economici e di critica, Spielberg si sarà detto "Diamine: quanto sono bravo. Forse dovrei fare una schifezza". Detto fatto. Rifacimento di "Joe il pilota", "Always" è una delle cose peggiori fatte da Spielberg. Nonché un film melenso e persino noioso a tratti. Il che è un peccato perché lei interessanti potevano anche esserci ma probabilmente lo stesso Spielberg non era convinto del progetto.

Over time we’ve seen an increasing number of clients come to us with symptoms of histamine intolerance, including seasonal allergies, headaches, skin issues and digestive problems. And although doctors would likely treat these as separate conditions, we believe common root causes are certainly at play. IgY Max is a new compound designed to improve gut function with some decent research behind it which I’ll cover in this article. Our bodies have the immunoglobulins IgG, IgA, IgE, IgM, and IgD all of which have important immune properties and functions. IgG makes up the bulk of the human immunoglobulin system which is used in products like colostrum or specific IgG products all designed for gut healing and immune health. IgY however has some advantages over IgG: IgY is 3 to 5 times stronger than IgG due to increased efficiency of the immune response IgY does not stimulate inflammation IgY has a more rapid and specific local response such as targeting specific bacteria Eggs have 20 times more immunoglobulins than IgG so it is more economical IgY Max does the following: Heals the gut lining making it ideal for leaky gut Ensures the right bugs stick to the gut lining and the wrong ones don’t stick Reduces harmful bacteria Supports overall immune system health Helps the body fight infections Reduces inflammation The gut barrier protection that this compound provides supports any probiotics or prebiotics that you may be taking. The “bad” bacteria are inhibited from multiplying and sticking to your gut lining so the good bacteria can remain intact. What does the research show on IgY Max? The first is a pilot study done by the company itself which can be a bad thing but not necessarily if the study is well done. Six subjects with mild to moderate gut complaints were given two 500mg capsules twice a day of IgY Max for 8 weeks and had gut assessments of zonulin, histamine, Diamine oxidase (DAO) for gut integrity at the beginning and the end of the study. Zonulin is a decent test for gut barrier integrity, histamine is a good marker for inflammation and gut barrier integrity, and DAO is the enzyme that breaks down histamine so low levels are connected with chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Three of the six subjects did a comprehensive digestive stool analysis to assess their gut bacteria as well as testing yeast. What were the results? None of the subjects had any adverse reactions to the supplement. The subjects did report improvements such less gas and bloating as well as feeling more energy at 8 weeks. Zonulin improved, DAO improved, and histamine improved in all six subjects. There was also an improvement in beneficial flora in all 3 subjects as noted on the repeat stool analysis. Lactobacillus was the specific strain in the gut that improved. Another clinical trial to mention is an unpublished study by Rehnini Ambekar, MD entitled, “Effect of a nutritious drink fortified with immune egg in improving the weight and enhancing the well-being of subjects.” In this study 14 patients with AIDS were given a drink that contained IgY egg powder for 8 weeks. Most of the patients reported significant improvements in all aspects of quality of life including energy levels, mood, and physical health. Dr.

Steve is a general dentist in Keizer Oregon. His background is in microbiology and public health dentistry with an emphasis on the care of patients with special needs. He was involved in the early development of the dental program-serving clients for the Oregon Health Plan and served as dental director and CEO of Capitol Dental Care for ten years, before returning to private practice in 2005.
