Tactonom) 4. Tastaturen (Help 2 Type, Mykey, Hable One jetzt mit App, Rivo 3 versus Senseplayer) 5. Vorlesen lassen (Orcam Read, Hype um Envision Glasses, Voxi Vision kann auch Texte übersetzen, Harc Reader bei verschiedenen Firmen erhältlich) 6. Lesegeräte für Sehbehinderte (Clover Note, bessere Kontraste in den 8-Zoll-Lupen von Opteelec und EV Optron, unüberschaubare Möglichkeiten für die Schule, Zoomcam hat ohne Software Vorteile) 7. Telefone (Blindshell, was macht Lucia? It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show with a fully over packed studio as the entire gang of Allison, Brian, Ed, and Jeanine are all together for the first time in 2023.   We start off discussing the price changes coming to the Envision Glasses. Jeanine then fills us in about the latest announcement coming out of Aira about extra minutes and the special that will continue to run to the end of February. And it's not just the assistive tech companies that are raising prices, as we discuss the announcement out of Amazon that Amazon Fresh groceries are now going to have different fee levels.   We then discuss the latest update to SeeingAI and Jeanine lets us know about something pretty cool that could be happening.   You may have wondered why Apple doesn't make AirTags for dogs, well this is why.   Paramount Plus will be merging with Showtime in the coming months. And what in the world is Netflix doing about cracking down on those darn password sharers?   Did you know that supposedly you can track a flight on your iPhone? Of course no clue how well this feature works with VoiceOver. And future iPhones may be able to listen to your chewing and scold you about what you are eating. Yikes.   Who knew that your A Lady echo and dots could have a shelf life.   Ed then gives us a review of the Samsung screen reader built in to most new Samsung TVs.   We then discuss the new products Apple announced the M2 Mac mini, M2 Mac Book Pros, and the new HomePod biggie.   Next we discuss online signature services and compare the accessibility of DocuSign, Dropbox Signature, and Adobe Sign. And why the heck do we still need a signature in the year 2023?   And it's an extended What's Pissing Off Brian Now and more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow , or leave us an old school phone message at 929-367-1005. Every person's face is unique. We intuitively know that to be true. But what exactly makes your face different from another person? And how can we measure and quantify that difference to make the world more accessible for the visually impaired? In this episode, journalist Shaun Raviv tells us how he uncovered the top secret history of facial recognition technology and its inventor, Woody Bledsoe. Then Karthik Kannan explains how a conversation with a group of visually impaired students inspired him to build glasses that can recognize human faces. In the 1960's, funded by an undercover CIA front company, Woody Bledsoe built the first facial recognition software that could identify human faces. Woody was years ahead of other researchers but never got credit for his work because of the project's classified designation.Until recently, like many others in the industry, Karthik had never heard of Woody Bledsoe. But his company Envision is literally manifesting the dream of computer aided sight that Woody first dreamt up more than 50 years ago. Using Google Glass technology, he's built glasses that can tell a visually impaired user what's nearby, give visual information about an object or environment and, of course, recognize faces. For more information, visit setapp.com/podcast

Has Steven finally lost his mind?Next up, Shaun has some explaining to do after listeners noticed a problem with last week's podcast. HumanWare have also announced a new product this week called the Stellar Trek. This GPS device features two cameras that are capable of detecting and directing users to doors and building entrances. Could this be a must-have device for mobility or are apps such as Google Maps or Apple Maps all we need? And finally, there is some amazing news from Aira. In their ongoing mission to get the Aira service available to everyone, they have announced a new desktop app for Windows and Mac. But that's not all. They have also announced that Aira will be available on the BlindShell Classic 2 phone shortly. But wait, that's still not all. Tek Talk welcomes a representative from Envision AI . Envision, an award-winning assistive technology company, has announced the official launch of Envision Glasses, which are AI-powered smart glasses for blind and visually impaired people. Envisions software uses artificial intelligence (AI) to extract information from images and then speaks the images out loud so the user has a greater understanding of the environment around them. Blind and low-vision users can see to read documents at home or work, view labels while shopping, easily recognize their friends, find personal belongings at home, use public transport, video call anyone in real time, and more. Envision is developed for and together with the visually impaired community. The app is simple, gets things done and brings the best assistive experience to blind and low vision users. Simply use your phone camera to scan any piece of text, your surroundings, objects, people or products and everything will be read out to you thanks to Envision's smart artificial intelligence (AI) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
