As New York City celebrates Zohran Mamdani's primary win, MAGA, Wall Street, and a handful of Democrats succumb to socialist paranoia. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth lashes out at the press after CNN reports that last weekend's airstrikes barely set back Iran's nuclear program. President Trump pressures Congress to pass his Big Bullshit Bill by July 4th, despite a new ruling from the Senate Parliamentarian that could sink it altogether. Jon and Dan react to Senator Mitch McConnell's claim that "people back home" will "get over" Medicaid cuts, the administration's desperate attempt to make their Iran strikes look like a success, and offer Zohran-skeptical Democrats some honest advice about what their voters want. Then, Jon talks to Congressman Robert Garcia, the new top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, about investigating ICE and why he thinks Stephen Miller is the "biggest piece of shit in the country."
On today's episode, Andy and DJ are joined in the studio by ultra-endurance athlete and author Eli Wehbe. They discuss the Liver King being freed after threatening Joe Rogan, NYC Mayor Eric Adams announcing his re-election bid following Mamdani's win in the Democratic primary, and whether Caitlin Clark may be finished after enduring a year and a half of public beatings in a league full of women who despise her.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth blasts the media for downplaying the success of US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, accusing reporters of anti-Trump bias and relying on misleading leaks. The Trump administration plans to restrict Congress's access to classified intel. Prosecutors in the Sean "Diddy" Combs trial tell jurors the rapper led a criminal enterprise, pointing to drug distribution, arson, and sex trafficking as predicate crimes. Republican consultant Ryan Girdusky gives an exclusive deep dive on 33-year-old Muslim democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, Democrat nominee for NYC mayor. Glenn reacts to the insane statement Democrat Jamaal Bowman made while on CNN, where he claimed black people are unhealthy because white people use racial slurs. Is this why Glenn Beck has struggled with weight issues his whole life? A listener calls in and asks Glenn to elaborate on why he had a recent guest on whom he had previously warned about. Glenn and Jason Buttrill discuss the most radical tax policies of New York City's Democratic mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani. Will these policies destroy NYC if he's elected? Glenn takes calls from listeners to gauge their feelings about current events. Glenn explains why calls to deport Zohran Mamdani are wrong. We have to teach the correct values, not just silence differing opinions. Delta Hospice Society Executive Director Angelina Ireland joins to expose how the Canadian government took over her health care clinic after it refused to euthanize people at their request. Glenn and Jason review some of the various SCOTUS decisions that were released today, which gave President Trump some major wins and some significant losses from the court. On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, the Senate parliamentarian is blocking Medicaid changes to waste, fraud, and abuse in the big, beautiful bill. House Republicans proposed tightening Medicaid eligibility with work requirements and restrictions on illegal aliens, but the Senate parliamentarian deemed these changes outside budget reconciliation, exposing the bill to a filibuster. The Senate's decision not to challenge this ruling perpetuates Medicaid misuse. Additionally, the Senate opposes raising the $10,000 cap on home mortgage interest and property tax deductions, disproportionately affecting taxpayers in high-tax blue states. We need to maximize tax deductions for individuals no matter if they live in a blue or a red state. Presidents Reagan and Trump's tax policies fueled economic growth. Also, Zohran Mamdani, a New York City mayoral candidate, is a dangerous Marxist Islamist with ties to anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activities. Mamdani's proposals, including city-owned grocery stores, massive tax increases, and refusing to cooperate with ICE, are policies that could drive out productive residents, attract welfare-seekers, Islamists, and Marxists, and lead to economic disaster for New York City. If Mamdani gets elected you will see authoritarian democracy in NYC. Authoritarian democracies mimic authoritarian regimes, using seemingly legitimate legal processes—such as passing tyrannical laws or disregarding due process—to justify power, prioritizing legality over justice or morality. Later, John Catsimatidis, owner of Red Apple Media and grocery chains Gristedes and D'Agostino Supermarkets, calls in to warn that he'll close his grocery stores if Mamdani wins the NYC mayor race. Catsimatidis explains that Mamdani's policies, including massive tax increases and defunding the police, would drive businesses out and harm the city's economy. In addition, capitalism drives innovation and improves quality of life by creating wealth through valuable goods and services, such as grocery store chains offering affordable, diverse food options. In contrast, Marxism destroys societies without producing tangible benefits. Capitalism underpins everyday conveniences—clean water, electricity, advanced healthcare, and mobility—unmatched globally. Marxist and socialist ideologies promise unattainable utopias while overlooking capitalism's capacity to foster equality through social mobility, enabling anyone to rise from poverty to wealth. Finally, Johnny Joey Jones calls in to discuss his new book, Behind the Badge – Answering The Call To Serve on America's Homefront. Learn more about your ad choices. Michael Savage reacts to the Democrat primary in New York City, where socialist and jihadist sympathizer Zohran Mamdani could become the city's next mayor. He reflects on the city's social and political decline. Then, he critiques CNN and other media outlets for undermining reports about the success of the U.S. strike mission in Iran. Savage praises Trump's defense of the pilots and questions whether CNN is guilty of sedition. He revisits his stance as an anti-war conservative, referencing his book "Trump's War" where he wrote about Trump's war against the War Machine. Savage stresses the need for peace between all peoples and nations.

New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani pulled off an astonishing upset this week. In the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, he beat out the long-favored winner, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who conceded the race only hours after the polls closed. The two candidates were of the same party, but held very different positions within it: Cuomo is older, spent more than a decade as Governor and positioned himself as a law-and-order centrist. Mamdani is younger, newer to politics and a total progressive. This is a primary race in just one city, but it's been making national news and could shake up the Democratic party's strategy post-Trump re-election. Brittany sits down with Christian Paz, senior politics reporter at Vox, and Max Rivlin-Nadler, reporter and co-publisher at Hell Gate, a local news site for New York City. They discuss what this race says about where progressive energy is coming from - and why the Democrats might be having a Tea Party moment.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has won over legions of rent-strapped young voters with a platform focused on making housing more affordable — including by freezing rents. This week he cleared an important hurdle, winning the Democratic primary in an upset of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. But his success has panicked the New York real estate industry, which is now in a mad scramble to assess its options. WSJ's Rebecca Picciotto explains how the city's housing crisis is driving the election. Annie Minoff hosts. Description: A scary Muslim named Zohran Mamdani has won the Democratic mayoral primary, and Zionists are absolutely freaking out. In this clip Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger mock the over-the-top reactions from political figures and media personalities, particularly right-wing commentators, who equate Mamdani's Muslim identity and progressive views with anti-American and anti-Israel sentiment. They also explore how Mamdani's refusal to blindly support Israel during debates may have contributed to his popularity, contrasting it with exaggerated loyalty pledges from other candidates. Throughout, the hosts criticize the Democratic Socialists of America, highlight government hypocrisy, and deride fearmongering rhetoric around Muslims and leftist policies. Plus segments on Iran Attacks backfiring on Israel and Marjorie Taylor Greene BLASTS Trump Over Iran Attacks! Also featuring Kurt Metzger, Mike MacRae, and Stef Zamorano. Plus a Phone call from JD Vance!
President Trump's decision to strike Iran has sparked debate in Congress over the executive branch's ability to take military action without authorization. The strikes Trump ordered last week were in line with recent precedent. But some critics and supporters alike are calling for restrictions to his ability to take further action in Iran. House Speaker Mike Johnson called the debate ill-timed, and openly questioned the constitutionality of the War Powers Act. That act requires the president to seek Congressional approval before declarations of war. Is this another battleground in the fight over legislative checks and balances?Trump's assistance with a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran led to a warm reception at a NATO security summit later in the week. The summit was planned to discuss the war in Ukraine, the conflict between Israel and Iran, and other alliance concerns. Much of the focus landed on the ceasefire and an agreement by members to commit 5% of their GDP to defense. The new spending mark was seen as a major concession to Trump, who had threatened since his first term to leave the alliance if it wasn't met. But was the decision made more for self-preservation than appeasement?Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist, won the Democratic primary in New York City's mayoral race. Progressives are pointing to his victory as a beacon for Democrats nationwide to push further to the left. Does that ignore the fact that he ran against the scandal-ridden former governor Andrew Cuomo?
Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Thursday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. PC Pres Corps Hour 1 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show dives into the explosive fallout from a leaked intelligence report questioning the effectiveness of a recent U.S. military strike on Teran. Hosts Clay and Buck, alongside commentary from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, launch a full-throated defense of the mission and President Donald Trump’s leadership, while sharply criticizing the mainstream media for what they describe as politically motivated reporting. The hour opens with a breakdown of the CNN and New York Times leaks, which suggested the strike may have failed. Buck Sexton, drawing on his intelligence background, explains the complexities of identifying leakers and the dangers of politicizing classified information. The hosts argue that the leak was a deliberate attempt by the “deep state” to undermine President Trump’s credibility and military success. Pete Hegseth’s fiery Pentagon press conference is a focal point, where he accuses the press corps of rooting against Trump and downplaying the bravery and precision of U.S. pilots. The segment includes a viral moment where Hegseth is questioned for not explicitly acknowledging female pilots, prompting a broader discussion on gender politics in the military and media. A former female military pilot calls in to express support for Hegseth, dismissing the controversy as media-driven nitpicking. Why What Happens in NY Matters Everywhere the political upheaval surrounding New York City's mayoral race, highlighting the rise of Democratic Socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani. Clay and Buck analyze the implications of Mamdani's nomination, emphasizing how his progressive platform—backed by figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders—signals a broader shift within the Democratic Party. They explore the national ramifications of this political momentum, warning that what happens in New York could soon influence Democrat-led cities across the country. The hosts critique Mamdani's proposals, including an 800% increase in funding for hate crime prevention and his assertion that the criminal justice system is inherently racist. They argue these initiatives are more about left-wing indoctrination than effective governance. The conversation also touches on Mamdani's savvy use of social media and his appeal to younger voters, many of whom are financially supported by their parents and drawn to socialism despite benefiting from capitalism. Local Story with National Reach Eric Adams, the current NYC mayor, is portrayed as a potential moderate counterweight, possibly running as an independent. The show discusses the strategic challenges Adams faces, especially if former Governor Andrew Cuomo enters the race, potentially splitting the anti-Mamdani vote. The hosts also examine the fractured state of the Democratic Party, debating whether it can still suppress far-left candidates or if it will continue to “double down on crazy.” President Donald Trump is referenced as a stabilizing force, particularly in contrast to the chaos the hosts associate with progressive policies. They highlight the effectiveness of Trump-era immigration enforcement, with praise for figures like Tom Homan and Stephen Miller, and criticize sanctuary city policies that undermine federal law enforcement. The hour concludes with a broader cultural critique, linking the rise of socialism to generational entitlement and a rejection of meritocracy. The hosts argue that capitalism’s success has ironically enabled the luxury of anti-capitalist sentiment, particularly among younger, affluent urban voters. Do You Buy This Story? Jamaal Bowman's questionable story about being yelled at by a white dude in Yonkers, NY. Media bias and the decline of CNN’s credibility. Jake Tapper lectures us on the purpose of journalism. Clay and Buck point out that CNN has become a partisan outlet, losing its former status as a trusted news source. They discuss whether the network is salvageable and propose that only a radical overhaul—possibly led by a figure like Megyn Kelly—could restore its relevance. The show also explores internal divisions within the Democratic Party, sparked by Chris Cuomo’s criticism of the party’s far-left wing, including figures like AOC and Bernie Sanders. The hosts argue that the Democratic Party is increasingly dominated by anti-capitalist, radical progressive ideologies, which they claim alienate moderate voters and threaten national unity. Further discussion includes the media’s treatment of conservatives, the legacy of Trumpism, and the broad coalition President Trump has built, including former Democrats like Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. The hosts highlight how Trump’s second term is marked by a more strategic and media-savvy administration. Glenn delves deeper into the socialist views of the new Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani. Glenn examines previous cities that elected people with similar views, all of which ultimately ended with the city in shambles. After media outlets like CNN and The New York Times claimed that Trump's Iran nuclear facility strike wasn't as successful as Trump claimed, Glenn's chief research and intelligence expert, Jason Buttrill, joined to explain why this report was made and how the media is lying by omission. The Times of London Columnist Melanie Phillips joins to break down the threat that radical Islam poses to America. Glenn and Jason examine an AI-generated video featuring Aleksandr Dugin, as the guys fear Dugin will use this technology to indoctrinate more people worldwide in their native language. Center for Humane Technology co-founder Tristan Harris joins to discuss the potential that society is underestimating how much AI will take over. Texas Attorney General and Senate candidate Ken Paxton (R) joins to discuss recent polling that puts him above his competitor, Sen. John Cornyn (R). Paxton also discusses Trump's ‘big, beautiful bill' and reveals whether he would vote for it if he were in the Senate today. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City, is a Marxist and an Islamist who supports Hamas slogans, the BDS movement, and holds anti-Semitic views, though he reportedly denies these claims. If voted Mayor of NYC he will cause New York City's decline, with good people leaving and radical Islamists arriving. Mamdani's positions, including his criticism of Israel and Marxist beliefs, are incompatible with American values and pose a threat to New York City, particularly given its large Jewish population. Mamdani's nomination reflects a broader strategy by Islamists to infiltrate American institutions. We need to confront these ideologies directly. Also, ‘Pardon Me' Steve Bannon is deceiving hardworking, middle-class, blue-collar conservatives and MAGA supporters. Bannon is a con artist who leaked information against President Trump and his family, resulting in his White House dismissal in Trump's first term. He is fake MAGA, exploiting the conservative movement for personal gain; we need to recognize his deception. He is the establishment and is undermining Trump's presidency. Later, Trump explained of Truth Social that he was shocked that there was an ongoing legal witch hunt against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite his leadership in a historic victory against Iran. Netanyahu is an unparalleled warrior who eliminated a significant nuclear threat. Trump demands the trial's immediate cancellation or a pardon for Netanyahu. Finally, Rep Byron Donalds calls in and defends Trump's decision to neutralize Iranian nuclear sites, calling it the absolute right call and praises Trump for succeeding where past presidents, particularly Obama and Biden, failed by empowering Iran through misguided policies like those of Robert Malley. Donalds emphasizes Trump's clear stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons while avoiding ground troop deployment, aligning with an America First policy. Learn more about your ad choices. At a time when democracy is under siege from Kremlin-backed strongmen to MAGA disinformation machines, this week's Gaslit Nation bonus show offers much-needed hope. We unpack the NATO summit, celebrate a major grassroots victory in New York City, and also discuss how to contain Russia with security expert Candace Rondeaux, author of Putin's Sledgehammer. First up: NATO is finally stepping up. All member nations, except Spain, have committed 5% of their GDP to defense and security by 2035. Predictably, Trump is already trying to take credit, but this shift isn't about him. It's a direct response to Putin's ongoing war in Ukraine. European leaders have learned how to handle Trump's ego: offering flattery when necessary while quietly strengthening defenses against the very aggression he once downplayed. That's not concession; it's strategic diplomacy. Meanwhile, in New York City, there's real reason to celebrate: Zohran Mamdani's victory in the Democratic primary for mayor is a major win for grassroots organizing and progressive politics. His campaign, alongside Brad Lander and others, championed public investment, reallocated resources from the NYPD's military-sized budget, and pushed back against Fox News crime porn fearmongering and disinformation. It's a clear signal that authentic, coalition-driven campaigns have the power to break through. Is the Democratic Party establishment listening? And finally, don't miss our powerful conversation with Candace Rondeaux, who outlines how to contain Russian fascism and the ongoing threat of the Wagner Group. As we're always saying at Gaslit Nation: fascists don't stop until they're stopped. Want to enjoy Gaslit Nation ad-free?
