Jackie Robinson Day came and went with Kareem calling out the President's attack on DEI (although we don't think it is a ruse for segregation, we think it *is* segregation), Mookie saying some hard truths about the LAD at the White House, and the commissioner saying some weak things and making questionable visits. Gio's been listening to WFAN and some hosts and fans want Aaron Boone fired mid season. Boomer talked about the Mets winning 2, losing 3. Boomer is not blaming Carlos Mendoza for making a bad pitching change with Christian Scott. The Mets are not going to the playoffs, so they're protecting a young pitcher. They just don't have the bullpen for it. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with the Mets bullpen once again blowing a game. The Mets ended the road trip 4-4. Keith Hernandez doesn't like ‘LFGM' and thinks the ‘F' is ‘grotesque'. Jazz Chisolm may be on the trading block for the Marlins. In the final segment of the hour, traffic reporter Karen Stewart checks in to give her top five worst roads in the area.

In the final segment of the hour, traffic reporter Karen Stewart checks in to give her top five worst roads in the area. We also talked about Brunson and his contract and potentially taking less money to stay with the Knicks. Boomer wonders why he should have to take less money. Gio thinks the Giants are sending messages to Daniel Jones through the TV show, Hard Knocks. A urologist calls in to talk about problems taxi drivers in NYC have with urinating during their shifts. Gregory Santos is joining the Mariners in San Diego, Catie Griggs to Baltimore. Trade 30: Jazz Chisolm. Paul George feels disrespected...
Headlines and the LeBron/Bronny conversation. Bronny James is staying in the NBA draft with rumors swirling of manipulating the draft and questions about how ready he really is. But, if it's all rumors and nothing comes from it, other than Bronny getting drafted late, then do we actually have a problem with it or is it just LeBron hate? :30- Chuck has assembled a Mariners trade grid- - Ryan McMann (Rockies)- will he actually be available? Current reports say no. Contract- 4 yrs/$56 mill, trade package shouldn't be significant - Pete Alonso (Mets)- available? Should be soon. Free agent at end of the year- cost prohibitive, doesn't make a lot of sense - Jazz Chisolm- available? possible… but, 4 more years of club control. Incredible talent, but unlikeable. You would most likely have to give up a lot in a trade. :45- Reckless at Breakfast Chuck maps out the future of college football as a 40-team minor league for the NFL.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched eight solid innings, Max Muncy hit a Grand Slam, and Gavin Lux homered and drove in two runs to power the LA Dodgers past the Miami Marlins 8-2 in Los Angeles.Jazz Chisolm, Jr. led off the game with a solo home run for the Marlins, but Yamamoto silenced Miami's bats from there, allowing only a second solo homer, this one off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz in the sixth inning. The ferocious Dodgers lineup chased young Marlins starter Edward Cabrera, scoring four runs on just one hit in two innings. George Soriano fared no better in relief, giving up four runs in three innings.Jesus Sanchez had two hits for Miami, 10-28 on the season. Jazz Chisolm Jr hit his fifth career grand slam as the Marlins erupted for six runs in the first inning off the National's Patrick Corbin, but it was not enough, as Miami lost their sixth straight game, 12-9 at Loan Depot Park. Luis Arraez, Bryan De La Cruz and Vidal Brujan each went 2-4 for the Fish, who had six hitters drive in at least a run in the game. Chisolm, Jr., now has six career grand slams, second on the Marlin's all-time list behind Mr. Marlin himself, Jeff Conine. Nick Senzel crushed two home runs for the Nats, driving in five runs. Jacob Young had three hits and three RBI's, and Try Lipscomb added three hits. The twelve runs scored by Miami were more than they had plated in their previous eight games combined, but it wasn't enough to stop them from losing their sixth straight game. The Marlins and Nats wrap up this four-game series tomorrow. We will be here with your Locked On Marlins POSTCAST right after the game!
Locked On Marlins' Peter Pratt is frustrated at the poor play of The Marlins, their lack of spending and open readiness to rebuild.
In hour 2: Hockey is played in a "barn" but not so sure a zamboni is called an "ice tractor". Peter Pratt is frustrated like most Marlins Fans. Who is reading Jeffrey Loria's book?
Hour 1 The Yankees and Mets seasons got off to two very different starts. The Yankees swept the Astros in Houston and Juan Soto was dominant at the plate. The Mets get swept at home by the Brewers and Rhys Hoskins cemented himself as a Mets enemy. Fans were mad that Pete Alonso was on stage with Zach Bryan after losing their first two games. Fans are mad at the Mets dance team. Everything is spiraling. Boomer said it's a bad look for Alonso to do that publicly on Saturday night when you have a 1pm game the next day. Boomer said the Mets need JD Martinez in the lineup as soon as possible. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with audio of Juan Soto's RBI single. We also heard John Sterling's Soto HR call. No one gets the ‘Soto photo' reference. We heard from Howie Rose as the Mets were swept. Josh Hart said after last night's game that they prepare like Anunoby and Randle will not be back this season. In the final segment of the hour, The Jets get edge rusher Haasan Reddick. That came out of nowhere. The Jets are in a moment now where they have to go for it, because after Aaron Rodgers retires, they are going to have to start over with a new QB. We talked about the QBs in the upcoming draft and where JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix will land. Hour 2 The Yankees started the season in the best way possible and the Mets the worst way possible. A caller said Soto is already a Yankee and cannot go to the Mets at any price. Gio can't believe people believe the story of Easter, but nobody believes Shohei Ohtani. Boomer said he hasn't heard anybody talking about Ohtani lately. Maybe the Diddy story took over instead. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Burdi's great play at third base in yesterday's game in Houston. Pete Alonso joined Zach Bryan on stage Saturday night in the middle of the Mets getting swept. Jazz Chisolm was not happy with the Marlins having the roof open. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. LeBron said he doesn't have many more seasons left. Caitlin Clark is fired up for Iowa vs LSU tonight. Jerry has audio of Evan Roberts vs Spike Eskin about Evan going to Mets opening day instead of coming to work. Evan called him a ‘dildo head'. Gio is not contributing to this ‘ruse'. In the final segment of the hour, there was a problem with the 3-point lines being different in an NCAA womens' game. Boomer watched some UFL football over the weekend and kind of liked it. Hour 3 Boomer thinks the Knicks ran out of gas last night against the Thunder. We also talked about the Rangers and Boomer thinks they're giving up too many goals even though they're winning. A caller talks about people backing into parking spots at the garage at UBS arena. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Yankees and the great catch by Verdugo to end yesterday's game. What did Sterling's ‘Soto Photo' call even mean? Jon Berti also made a great force play at third. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer said they are building a cricket field and stadium on Long Island for World Cup matches. Boomer said it's a very difficult ticket to get. Hour 4 Boomer is looking over the cricket schedule for next year on Long Island. Gio said it's going to be a traffic nightmare when the World Cup is there. Boomer said the Mets are just off to a bad start and it doesn't mean they are going to be bad all season. Boomer liked Jeff McNeil vs Rhys Hoskins. Gio said there was nothing to like about it. Boomer didn't like the slide and many callers think Boomer is wrong. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees sweeping the Astros and the great debut of Juan Soto in a Yankee uniform. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. LSU head coach Kim Mulkey pulled a Mike Gundy. She doesn't want the press going at the players. They were called, ‘dirty debutantes'. The Moment of The Day involves Evan Roberts calling Spike a ‘dildo head'. In the final segment of the show, Boomer wonders if Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will ‘Evan & Spike' it or fight for real.
The Yankees started the season in the best way possible and the Mets the worst way possible. Hour 2 of the show. Seth Joyner joins the show. Our confidence level in Aaron Nola. Jazz Chisolm opened his mouth a bit early!
Hour 4: We talked about Steve Cohen meeting the press again yesterday and we are still debating on what he meant by what he said about next year and free agents. Is Gio selling out now that he's into golf so much? A caller tells us that Sal Licata has gone on vacation with Chris Russo just so Sal could watch his kids. Stugotz said he should have been working at WFAN many years ago because he's so passionate about the station. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Brandon Nimmo reacting to Steve Cohen's comments before the game. Tommy Lugauer was screaming on the afternoon show, saying he would root for aliens over the Yankees. We played all of the ‘Jazz Chisolm' cuts for Stugotz. In the final segment of the show, the Jets play the Browns tonight in the Hall of Fame Game and we will be watching to see what Zach Wilson looks like.
Hour 1: Stugotz from the Dan Le Batard Show is in for Boomer today so it's Gio & Stugotz this morning. Gio told a story about Chris Russo and ‘the family', a group of guys at WFAN who would bet on games with Russo. Gio was only making $31K at the time and lost $1100 and 6 months later Russo came looking for it. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with audio from Steve Cohen talking about his conversation with Max Scherzer and not going all in on free agents next season. Gio does not like that Cohen is not going to do everything they can to win next year and it reminds him of the Wilpons. It sounds like the Mets are not going to make a legitimate offer for Ohtani. The Yankees beat the Rays last night behind a Giancarlo Stanton 3-run HR. Domingo German voluntarily entered an alcohol rehab program. The Jets play the Browns tonight in the Hall of Fame game and we'll see a lot of Zach Wilson. In the final segment of the hour, Stugotz talked about the dangers of NYC and having to dodge scooters and bicycles. And everyone is smoking weed everywhere. Hour 2: Stugotz is excited to be on WFAN as he's been a huge fan of the station for many years. He was even excited to meet Eddie Scozarre. But he doesn't know who Dov is, which seems strange since he's been at WFAN since day one. Gio does not like that Steve Cohen said they will not be in on huge free agents. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about Jerry vacationing in Texas which is confusing to Gio. And McMonigle is going to Florida this month. C-Lo has audio from Cohen before the game. He didn't like the Mets' ‘crummy' odds to make the playoffs. He also said, ‘hope's not a strategy'. The Yankees beat the Rays 7-2 behind solid offense from Anthony Volpe and Giancarlo Stanton. Domingo German is entering an alcohol rehab problem and is done for the season. The Jets play the Browns tonight in an early pre-season game. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about being friends with someone and then that friend starts doing better in life and you don't hear back from them. Hour 3: Giants GM Joe Schoen calls in. When he was working with the Dolphins he was a neighbor of Stugotz. He talked about his relationship with Saquon Barkley and how business isn't personal. He also talked about reasons why the RB position seems undervalued in the NFL. C-Lo returns for an update but first Stugotz said he liked betting better when it was illegal. We heard audio from Steve Cohen on what they accomplished dealing Scherzer and Verlander. Gio and C-Lo go at it over what Steve Cohen said or didn't say about next season. Aaron Boone was on Jomboy's ‘Talkin Yanks' podcast and was getting testy with the host about Aaron Judge getting days off. In the final segment of the hour, Youseff is in the studio to talk about the Women's World Cup and whether French women shave their armpits.

Patti and the Pottymouth record from neighborhood brewery 3Stars and wish them a fond farewell on their last day of operations. Pottymouth has been back to Fenway so she has a LOT to say, including reports of a hero named Jeter. Patti celebrates the return of Corey's bat, the historic naming of Jazz to the All-Star roster, and the water wings of probable future BF J-Rod. There is pondering over the Os just being fun, or are they actually good. The UK hosts Derby X (is it “ex” or “ten? We don't know!) which sounds exactly like something we would come up with over tasty beer at a local brewery. Patti gives you the basics on how next week's draft works, as well as an overview of the latest proposals for an international draft. Important events in girls baseball are happening from T-ball to elite levels. Advocates for Minor Leaguers toss around terms like “minor league conspiracy” and “illegal” in their response to the Senate request for information on MLB's antitrust exemption. Pottymouth makes travel plans for the World Baseball Classic. We say “little umbrellas in our drinks,” “hard and bitter,” and “Chipotle or lobster?”Get boosted, fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Ryan Finkelstein and Clay Snowden deliver the state of the NL East for Thursday, June 23, 2022. With the Midsummer Classic less than a month away, we take the time to look at who is faring well in the early All-Star voting for each team in the NL East and predict who will ultimately represent their team in the game. Who deserves to start at second base for the NL, Jazz Chisolm or Jeff McNeil? Could Dansby Swanson push Francisco Lindor out of the All-Star Game? Do the Phillies get anyone in the game except for Bryce Harper and does Juan Soto start the game based on name recognition alone? Patti is back from the plague, in time for the boyfriend home run barrage. Former bfs light up Gerrit Cole for home runs in the first three batters of a game. Three bfs currently on the Nationals homer back to back to back. Pottymouth wants bonus qHAR points for clutch pitching from Camilo Doval. Adley's bat wakes up, Jake's stays woke, and Jazz introduces the “I don't care” tool to the collection. The Corrections department revisits the Rays and the Pride upheaval, and corrects Florida Governor DeSantis as everything he knows is wrong. Will LaRussa firmly taking responsibility for his decisions prevent him from following in the footsteps of Joe Maddon and Joe Girardi? The Angels bring out the disco for Jared Walsh's cycle, and we debate whether their City Connect unis are pretty good or just fine. We are horrified by the number of transphobic bills harming student athletes and encourage you to act locally. The Angelos family, owners of the Orioles, bring the drama. Sons of Hall of Famers and All Stars stack the Brockton Rox and remind us to remind you to find your nearest summer collegiate baseball league and take in some games. We say “man bun,” “wealth of baseball-adjacent knowledge,” and “my dad looks nothing like Pedro Martinez.”Get boosted, fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. This week the boys start the show with talking about the Yankees winning streak. Don't hate us... They look to be the best team in the league. Is it for real? Home Runs are down so far. Is this good for baseball or bad? Why is the league doctoring the ball? The boys dive in. News came down this week about Trevor Bauer's two-year suspension. This is likely a death sentence for his career. After, the boys discuss manager Dusty Baker getting his 2,000th win. This asks the question: is he a top-10 manager of all-time now? We are now a little over a month into the season, which brings overreactions galore. Is Mike Trout going to win his 4th MVP? Is Eric Hosmer going to have a career year? Are the White Sox's and Tigers' rebuilds in trouble? The boys answer this and more. They round out the show with Fantasy Factory and Collection Corner.
Patti is willing to die on the hill of a combined no-hitter not being a no-no. Pottymouth is deeply tired of discussing Trevor Bauer who is appealing his record-setting suspension but otherwise is not appealing in any way. The Contreras brothers and the “brothers” from the Bahamas (Jazz and Lucius) warm our hearts this week, as does too-soon BF Christian Pache. Carlos Rodón is a bright spot in Pottymouth's otherwise IL-troubled boyfriend team, and we are officially on Adley Watch. The Yankee Letter disappoints, and we may have taken the fun out of your holiday party. On one hand, Mexican baseball is big fun – see Junior Lake stealing all the bases at once, on the other, the LMB is the land of second chances for abusers. The new CPBL team brings the green! Over 1000 minor leaguers petition MLB for Spring Break paychecks, as a baby step to unionization. We continue to try not to judge City Connect uniforms, but ESPN has no such restrictions. And your hosts are super happy in the basement. We say “Kiké pants,” “Going down rabbit holes with tequila,” and “It's a good thing that I'm well oiled for this one.”Get boosted, fight the man, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Upon further review, Adalberto Mondesi gets the Royals boyfriend nod from Pottymouth and Patti makes another early, bold choice for ROY with Bobby Witt, Jr. For the Marlins, Pottymouth hopes for A+ with Avisaíl Garcia, and your hosts want to have a beer with the maternal grandmother of Patti's pick, Jazz Chisolm. As the lockout continues, there's more time to explore the economics of it all, discuss the effect on injured players, and fill that last remaining manager gig with the A's promotion of Mark Kotsay.Who could predict that the Staten Island Yankees would provide the bridge between the welcome news of the Pirates hiring of development coach Caitlyn Callahan, and Police Blotter coverage of the antitrust lawsuit against MLB? International baseball brings us players giving back in LIDOM, LMP showing its range from “Mujeres en el Diamante” down to a wobbly umpire, and LPBRC bringing in some favorites, along with welcoming back fans. We tease our upcoming interview with none other than the NCiB legend that is Pottymouth's dad. We say “outfit,” “King of Staten Island,” and “naked, horizontal agreement”Get boosted, fight the man, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Patti and the Pottymouth propose a migratory bird name to replace the “Rays” if they move forward on the sister city plan, splitting time between Tampreal and Mompa. We throw in for Pottymouth's forever BF Juan Soto's MVP bid. Her former forever BF Mookie Betts does right by Reds rookie TJ Friedl, a young player with qHAR potential. Meaningful gifts abound, as Patti's forever BF Christian Yelich presents a pair of custom sneakers to Bob “Air” Uecker to celebrate 50 years announcing the Brewers, and Jon Lester bestows Rolexes on his two former catchers, David Ross and Willson Contreras, on his possibly last visit to Wrigley as a player. How did we miss Jose Siri's call up after nine years in the minors? Because he's with the Astros -- but what a debut! It's definitely the Police Blotter when a manager and pitcher receive suspensions for throwing at a player, but did the player do wrong? We look at Kevin Kiermaier, a dropped data card, sending a batboy to do a man's job, and getting beaned in the back by Ryan Borucki. Can't everyone follow the lead of Jazz Chisolm and Josh Rogers and dance it out?Veronica Alvarez coaches against Rachel Folden in the “instructs,” the roster for this week's Congressional Baseball game includes several women, and we can't wait for the ESPN upgrade of Jess Mendoza and Melanie Newman calling Wednesday's game. The US Women's National Team shapes future players at a girls clinic. Plan your January visit to Sarasota for the All American Women's Baseball Classic. The IWBC is a step closer to building their museum. Six Cubans have defected so far during the WBSC's 23U tournament in Mexico. The minor league's crown their champs and the Triple A Final Stretch makes make-up games matter. We say “zoning board,” “bicep boys,” and Marjorie Taylor Greene.Get vaxxed, fight the man, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Former Marlin and MLB player speaks to Tobin and Leroy from Colorado to talk about MLB giving money to the Players Alliance and what he thinks of Jazz Chisolm. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The first week of enforcement of the sticky stuff rule resulted in dropping of pants and threats to do so, the ejection of Joe Girardi for calling out Max Scherzer after demanding a substance check mid-inning, and Hector Santiago winning the dubious honor of first pitcher suspended under the new world order. Pottymouth is still grooving on her visit to Fenway. It's a toss-up if the best part was the salute to Dustin Pedroia or the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees (again). Patti notes that qHAR (quality Hair Above Replacement) directly factors into how excited we are about multi home run games. Witness the well-deserved media-frenzy regarding Fernando Tatis, Jr., and the barely a peep about Schwarber, Winker, and Mountcastle doing the exact same thing. Gotta be the hair. In other qHAR notes, we approve of Jazz Chisolm going purple, and wonder who will move into the rankings now that Freddy Galvis is regrettably out for a month or more.Although the All Star caps meet with NCiB approval, we join the almost unanimous panning of Nike's in-game jersey design. Yogi Berra gets a Forever stamp, the DR qualifies for the Olympics, and NC State loses their shot at the College World Series because of COVID. Wash your hands, wear your masks, watch your distance, get your vaccine as soon as you can, and fight the man.
