Based on the 1976 John Varley short story of the same name from the Eight Worlds series, the film takes place in a dystopian future where an employee at a conglomerate gets trapped inside the company's computer and ends up affecting the real world. It was co-produced by Canada's RSL Films, Ltd in Toronto and New York television station WNET. Because of its limited budget, the motion picture was shot on videotape instead of film and was pre-sold to small American cable companies. It premiered on CBC Television in 1984 and was later broadcast on American Playhouse in 1985. The film had a mixed reception from critics. Overdrawn at the Memory Bank was featured in the eighth season finale episode of the comedy television series Mystery Science Theater 3000 in 1997.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:25 UTC on Monday, 24 February 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Overdrawn at the Memory Bank on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Raveena.

Send Sherry a Text MessageIn this lighthearted yet deeply reflective episode of It's a Single Mom Thing, we dive into life's latest storms and the clean-up they leave behind, exploring what it means to feel “overdrawn” but not overdone. Inspired by the idea that we come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing, we ask: what if we could leave something meaningful behind? We'll discuss what it feels like to be “spent” like a $20 bill and how, even in brokenness, there's beauty to be found and a chance to build something lasting. We'll also talk about how to rise above feeling emotionally or financially overdrawn and find renewed purpose in what we're passing down to the next generation. So, what storm are you in right now? What lesson is waiting for you to learn, laugh at, and leave behind as a firm foundation for your kiddos?PASS IT ON TO THE NEXT SINGLE MOM—If this podcast has blessed you, sign up today with a monthly gift of any amount. Silicon Valley Bankcorp failed spectacularly in March 2023. The bank, the regulators and the media formed a circle of finger-pointing and blame: In this interview Gary explains "duration risk". Duration risk refers to the sensitivity of a bond's price to changes in interest rates. In simple terms, duration risk is the risk that the value of a bond will decrease as interest rates rise. For a bank, this risk is significant, as bonds make up a significant portion of their portfolio. If a bank doesn't manage duration risk correctly, it can result in significant losses, as was the case with Silicon Valley Bankcorp. Gary notes that understanding duration risk is a fundamental concept in finance, and anyone in a finance-related role should know this. The Federal Reserve even contacted Silicon Valley Bankcorp last year, expressing their concern about the bank's bond portfolio. However, the bank ignored the warning, and the result was catastrophic. Here's a link to the blog post: https://www.stocksforbeginners.net/blog/dki042023Portfolio tracker Sharesight tracks your trades, shows your true performance, and saves you time and money at tax time. (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) يتغلب كيس ومولي على التدخلات القانونية السيبرانية ومحاولة خيانة من ريفيرا لدمج وينترميوت مع نيورومانسر، وينتهي الأمر بكيس يعيش في عالم جديد شجاعأفلام:· Escape from New York (1981)[40][41]· Burst City (1982)[42]· Tron (1982)[43]· Blade Runner (1982)[44]· Brainstorm (1983)[45]· Videodrome (1983)[46]· Repo Man (1984)· The Terminator (1984)· Brazil (1985)· RoboCop (1987)[47]· The Running Man (1987)· Gunhed (1989)[48]· Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)· Circuitry Man (1990)[49]· RoboCop 2 (1990)· Hardware (a.k.a. Falling in love with someone is the easy part. Learning to live with someone is the hard part. All romance starts with a spark of chemistry, but over time, some couples really complement one another, and others seem to want to kill each other. Is it just dumb luck? What separates those that crumble after seven months from those who end up celebrating seventy years? It's either a complete fluke or they've figured something out. And since nobody looks forward to starting over again, what could we learn from them?If you're new with us, or looking to take a next step, or even to let us know how we can be praying for you, we invite you to fill out an online Connect Card by texting "WHATSNEXT" to 94000 or visit https://southhillschurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/113913—To give with us select the Give tab on the Church Center App or visit www.southhills.org/give and select the Corona Fund or Corona BOW Fund—Visit our Linktree to find out more about everything mentioned in today's message or follow along with the message slides:https://linktr.ee/SouthHillsCorona —To RSVP for On-Campus Events select the Events tab on the Church Center App or visit https://southhills.org/corona/

Sean's been trying to better himself by going to the gym early in the morning. But that means he sees a lot of silly sports conversations, including endless speculation over whether star players will retire at the end of the year. This was happening even with several games left in the season. And so many of them rhyme! This kind of speculation should probably simmer down. Sean also isn't a fan of wondering who will win next year like one week after this year's champion celebrates a title. It's enough to make anyone want to rip their headphones off and throw 'em through a window.Plus, radio analysts thinking they're smarter than professional coaches and a silly sports cliche about how difficult things are.

A motion filed last week by John T. Lay and Peter M. McCoy Jr. — the two attorneys who were appointed as co-receivers in November 2021 to tally Murdaugh's assets — revealed even more shocking and unheard of banking practices at Palmetto State Bank. It's yet another layer of this story that shows us how powerful institutions treated Alex Murdaugh differently and therefore, potentially played a role in his alleged crimes. In this episode, Mandy, Liz, and fan favorite attorney Eric Bland explain the new information uncovered by the receivers and what we know about what happened to the money. Also this week, the State newspaper published an interesting piece about Chris Wilson — the third attorney on the infamous Omaha flight. Will Wilson be a witness IF murder charges arise? Singer, actor, director, producer - Dick Powell wore many hats during his career in Hollywood. Starting out in musical comedies, Powell reinvented himself as a tough guy film noir hero in the 1940s and he'd go on to a successful run as a director and producer on the big and small screens. We'll hear both of his Suspense appearances: "Slow Burn" (originally aired on CBS on February 23, 1950); and "Overdrawn" (originally aired on CBS on May 31, 1951).

Movie Meltdown - Episode 388 (For our Patreon supporters.) This week we hang out in a parking lot and reminisce about our time spent at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. Plus we discuss some of the movies and shows we've seen lately. And as we try to decide just how inappropriately color-coded the Power Rangers were, we also mention... John Wick, The Girl on the Train, loitering Deadpool, Major Lilywhite, 3-gun competition, Mystery Science Theater 3000, are you on Top Model, a T-Rex stumbling down a hallway, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, Riverdale, that's always a plus... nobody got stabbed, scamming free stuff from the CW booth, kids making their own shows, Creepypasta, Solomon Grundy want pants too, Sean Gunn and Sebastian Bach, in a Lifetime movie, Mädchen Amick, you and Tina Fey... you're the only ones who can sell that, slave girl Leia Dorothy, Daredevils, and then there was a teeth monster, now there's a guy who didn't try very hard, Squirm and pancakes. The economic crisis is affecting people in all income and social brackets, but America's baby boomers and seniors don't have the option to wait it out. The housing meltdown, market crash, and rising costs of everything from food to medicine have taken the luster out of seniors' "golden years" or worse, put them into deep debt. Some are reluctantly exiting retirement to look for jobs, while others are falling prey to predatory lending companies. NOW travels to South Carolina, a state where many retirees and winter refugees are being forced to rewrite the last chapter in their lives, to see how they are coping and what options are left.
