An almost extinct Pennsylvania beer, brought back from the brink! The Pennsylvania Swankey is a beer I've heard about for 30 years, but I never go to taste one until last week, when I interviewed Taylor Strein of Rosko's Brew House and William Wingfield of John Ryan Brewery, two small and excellent brewpubs in Williamsport. They collaborated on a batch of A Night at the Rosk-bury, a rare example of this unique Pennsylvania farm brew. We'll talk about that, and their two breweries, about the brothers that own them, and the Penn Tech brewing science program they both attended, and their love for classic beer styles that, well, to be honest, makes both of these places top visits for me. Of course you'll get some Williamsport history, including the Adena people who used this area as a continent-spanning trade route a thousand years ago, the way lumber transformed the city and the area, and its history on the Underground Railroad. Then we'll talk about the history of Pennsylvania Swankey, including input from PA Dutch scholar Doug Madenford (who lives a few valleys over and hosts the Doug's Front Porch podcast I appeared on in 2024), and the weirdly similar but distinctly different Cornish Swanky! I've got a month's worth of Williamsport beer events for you, including the Bullfrog Brewery 30th anniversary party on September 19th, a tease of a Finger Lakes cornucopia episode that's been long a-building, the latest on the new book, and a neat Elk Creek Cafe singalong event. What I'm Drinking Today is another of the Wheatland Spring Farm Brewery beers I picked up back in March, their Duration Sour Red Ale, a 9% beauty that really puts everything together. Cathy's not a sour fan, and she liked this one. Next episode is once again up in the air; it's getting really close to my son's wedding and my time is splashed to the four winds. I'll have something for you, never fear! Oh, and YES, we have a new sponsor! I'll announce that in the next episode! See you in two weeks! Until then? TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE PODCAST! Clint, Meg and Dan kick off Thursday talking about not wishing life away and being present with kids, then hunt for New Zealand’s best wake-up sound with the Jurassic Park theme as a frontrunner. They share an Overthinkers clip about a woman finding her dad and discovering his explicit SoundCloud, before discussing allegations against Jared Leto. The first call comes from Amy in Queenstown, a new drug-testing worker. Meg panics over a mysterious computer mouse package that turns out to be her mum’s lost Airbnb item. The team covers banana disease, a Fiji shark attack survivor’s advice, and sprinter Zoe Hobbs’ Commonwealth gold, then play Easy Money with callers. Dan triggers a workplace security alert while booking a spray tan, leading into “glow up to blow up” beauty disasters, and they debate a controversial post-date voicemail demanding sex, plus stories about crying to get out of trouble. 00:31 Being Present in Life 01:49 New Alarm Sound Hunt 03:13 B-List Celebrity Debate 04:32 Lost Dad SoundCloud Rap 07:44 Jared Leto Scandal Talk 09:54 First Call Amy in Queenstown 13:40 Mystery Mouse Package 17:22 Radar Bananas Sharks Sprinting 21:43 Easy Money Letter V 25:48 Theyre a 10 But Game 31:23 Funny walks debate 32:31 Helpful husband annoyance 34:21 Spray tan security scare 37:43 Glow up to blow up calls 42:32 First date voicemail drama 51:36 Easy Money game chaos 54:54 Crying to escape trouble

When he meets former GLOW producer Johnny Cafarella, Wrestlicious is born. What happens when a washed-up wrestling promoter from the '80s teams with Jimmy Hart to try to recreate GLOW in 2008 using the stars of Shimmer and the cringiest humor you've ever heard, somehow with worse production values than GLOW? What does it actually take to keep your body healthy through rehearsals, performances, flights, hotels, and the demands of life on the road? Athletic trainer Adam Quigley has supported artists and tours including Post Malone, Lorde, Tyla, Karol G, the Jabbawockeez, 5 Seconds of Summer, plus broadway tours like MJ the Musical and Moulin Rouge, helping performers care for their bodies through the unique physical demands of touring. In this conversation, Adam shares practical strategies for staying healthy on the road while challenging dancers to think of themselves as athletes. We discuss how to build a warm-up that supports the demands of dance, what to pack on tour, navigating time zone changes and travel fatigue, fueling your body while traveling, and why recovery deserves just as much attention as performance. Adam also shares his philosophy of care, explains why movement is medicine, and offers practical advice for preventing small issues from becoming bigger ones. The conversation also explores the physical and mental comedown after tour - something many dancers experience but rarely discuss, despite how important it can be for long-term health and performance. Whether you're touring internationally, teaching on weekends, traveling for work, or simply want to build a longer, healthier dance career, this episode is packed with practical tools to help you take better care of your body. Enjoy

Send us Fan MailThink about the rider who first made you believe you could.Maybe they waited patiently while you figured out that intimidating climb. Maybe they talked you through your first rock roll. Maybe they simply smiled at the trailhead and made you feel like you belonged. This episode is dedicated to those people. We're sharing the mentors who shaped our riding journeys, the lessons we'll never forget, and why the best mentors aren't always the fastest riders—they're the ones who build confidence, celebrate small wins, and remind us that it's okay to walk a feature.Because mentoring isn't about creating stronger riders...It's about creating riders who stick with the sport, lift others up, and eventually become mentors themselves.
All Links Here: https://hunterwilliamshealth.com/linksMost people file GHK-Cu under skin and beauty. That sells it short. This little three amino acid peptide shifts around 4,000 human genes toward repair. It delivers copper to the enzymes that rebuild collagen and power your cells. Your body makes it, and you lose about 80% of it by age 60.In this masterclass I cover what it actually does and how to use it. We get into who it's a good fit for and who should skip it. I break down dosing by goal, the timeline for results, and whether to cycle it.I walk through the Glow stack with BPC and TB-500. I cover why sequencing matters and how to reconstitute it so it stings less. Yes, it should turn blue. I explain why that matters.I'm honest about the gaps. A lot of the gene data is cell culture work. The cognitive and lung findings come from animal studies. I tell you where the human evidence is strong and where it isn't.We also hit the copper uglies, injection reactions, and the FAQ I get asked most. By the end you'll know if GHK-Cu belongs in your rotation.
How did the United States successfully produce and detonate the first atomic bomb? That success happened through a combination of random events and intricately planned schemes that fed into the speeding train that was atomic technology. The U.S. pops up along those tracks, but the spark that would lead to the bomb began across the Atlantic.

Jackie Tohn steps Behind The Rope. Early in her career Jackie appeared on many of our favorite shows such as “The Sopranos”, “Veronica Mars”, “Strangers With Candy”, not the least of which was “The Nanny”, in which she played a young Fran Drescher. Turns out Kristen Bell - shout out Nobody Wants This - is a close friend. There was also that one time she lived with Jessica Biel and her parents in Calabasas. Jackie talks the brilliant Glow, gone but not forgotten. Jackie talks her comedic hero Joan Rivers and what it was like to be on The Howard Stern show. Jackie also chats about appearing on “American Idol” and Bravo's very own “Platinum Hit” (Kara DioGuardi, we see you!). Have you ever heard of Sabatini's, in Exeter, PA? Sabatini's might be the best relatively unknown beer bar in the East. An unassuming pizzeria with a bar and bottleshop annex across the parking lot offers a ridiculously great tap selection, and around 3,000 different bottles of beer: import, domestic, craft, macro, micro, nano. It's a third generation family business, and I interviewed Lindo Sabatini. But it's not just the beer! Sabatini's has renowned pizza, an "upside-down" pizza with the cheese on the bottom and the sauce on top, pushed right out to the edge of the pie, and diced pepperoni, and a thin, crisp crust. We'll talk about that too, and how Lindo learned to blend different ages of mozzarella, all from the same Wisconsin dairy they've been using for over 30 years, to get the perfect flavor and melt. Then I went to another pizzeria, Nello's, and Michael Mootz Candies, (which, correction, is in Hanover Township, not Nanticoke) and Tarnowski's Kielbasa, just because I was there, and why not! All three were great; I love small businesses. What I'm Drinking Today is Conshohocken Brewing's Nightbier Cometh, a delicious schwarzbier, made even better when I had it with some of those Mootz's chocolates. Next episode will be an interview with two brewers who got together to make a uniquely Pennsylvania style of beer that is often talked about, but rarely made. See you in two weeks! Until then? Send us Fan MailToday we have guest Chris Mearns, a metabolic researcher and founder of LIV3 Health. Chris breaks down a part of the sugar conversation that I honestly had never thought much about: fructose. He explains how fructose doesn't just act like a calorie in the body. It can also act as a survival signal, telling the body to conserve energy and store fat.We talk about cellular energy, mitochondrial health, and why so many of us can feel tired, hungry, and stuck even when we feel like we're doing everything right. This conversation is especially helpful for women in midlife dealing with stubborn weight gain, cravings, and fatigue. Chris also shares simple, practical steps we can take to start working with our bodies instead of constantly fighting against them. This is a great episode! have been loving the Sugar Shield! In this last episode of the season we are exploring the low pressure ways you can find your edge, your space, create impact and maintain inspiration...even if the pace is a little slower over the summer. We talk about reconnecting with your muses, getting your processes in order, thinking more strategically to find and maintain your space and some invitations to open up to a little more possibility. We mention a few of the courses available in The Brand Stylist Academy, as well as previous episodes which you can find here:The Muses conversationBrand Clarity.Media Kit Mastered.Glow up your website in a morning episode. As it's our last episode before the break, we've taken the opportunity to have a bit of an extended catch up, and are getting a few passionate opinions off our chest before the summer. It contains content some listeners may find sensitive (we're not holding back on Ai) and reference to suicide, so if you'd like to jump straight to the main conversation you can find that around 20 minutes in.Thank you for being with us for another season and we look forward to jumping back in come September.Have a great summerElizabeth & Fionax Hosted on Acast. Jackie Tohn (Nobody Wants This, The Boys, GLOW) is an actress, comedian, and musician. Jackie joins Armchair Expert to discuss growing up on Long Island with two gym-teacher parents, discovering her BRCA mutation after her father's cancer diagnosis, and becoming an advocate for genetic testing and preventative care. Jackie and Dax talk about clawing through Hollywood as a musician and comic, learning to pivot instead of wait for permission, and finally being able to calm down after Nobody Wants This. Jackie explains the exhaustion of making life-or-death choices, how anxiety changes once the thing you fear actually happens, and the freedom of not having to be “on” for every room.Check Allstate first for a quote that could save you hundreds: https://www.allstate.com/See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hey! were back for some comic book fun where the boys from my second favorite podcast, Raised By Rentals, join the show to make up some crazy new super heroes for our listeners to enjoy! The time crunch has arrived. I've been warning you that I may need to take a break to fit everything in; it's a jam-packed summer for me. I'm trying to get a new whiskey book done on a very short deadline, and my son Tom is getting married at the end of August, and we've got a wedding shower in Philly this weekend. It's here, that moment when it's all finally too much...but only by a bit. So I'm going to delay the next episode a week. I have all the material, I only need to edit the interview and write the script. Next Thursday, the 16th, you'll get a full episode, and we'll be back on the every-other-week schedule. As an apology, here's What I'm Drinking Today. In recognition of the Team USA loss to Belgium in the World Cup round of 16, I popped a fresh, foamy bottle of Duvel, because it's always wonderful. Remember, then: Next episode will be on July 16th, and yes, it's still about the greatest Pennsylvania beer bar you've (probably) never heard of. And pizza. And kielbasa. And that should be a clue. Guesses? Anyone got guesses? See you in ONE week! Until then? YOU CAN STILL TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE PODCAST! Everyone celebrates the glow, but few ever witness the grind it took to get there. In this episode, Charity B. dives into the unseen season of growth. Where discipline is tested, progress feels invisible, and consistency matters more than recognition. We'll talk about delayed gratification, staying committed when nobody is clapping for you, and trusting that every sacrifice you're making today is building the life you'll be proud of tomorrow. Because the greatest transformations don't happen overnight, they happen in the quiet moments when you choose not to give up.

In episode 226, host Galit Friedlander and guest Link (dancer, educator, and one of the most respected voices on hip-hop and house culture) discuss what it means to truly understand hip-hop and house, not just as dance styles, but as cultures shaped by people, places, music, and community. Link shares stories from the clubs that influenced generations of dancers, the mentors who shaped his perspective, and why he never thought of himself as someone who "trained." He simply loved to dance. Together, we explore how understanding who you're learning from can deepen your understanding of the movement itself, why dancing and teaching require different skill sets, and how the social spaces that gave birth to these dances continue to shape the way we move today. Whether you're a street dancer, commercial dancer, educator, or simply someone who wants to deepen your understanding of hip-hop and house, this conversation offers a thoughtful perspective that may change the way you approach both the dance and the culture. In this episode Phil Vella, founder of Vita Bella, returns to break down the wild west of the gray market peptide industry. He shares new data showing 70 percent of research peptides now fail purity and contamination testing, why so many random people are running peptide side hustles out of their garages, and the real risks of injection site infections and improperly dosed products. They cover why hormone optimization should always come before peptides, the most popular peptides Vita Bella prescribes, the science behind PDE5 inhibitors for both performance and longevity, and the regulatory battle between big pharma and compounding pharmacies over GLP medications. Phil also opens up about a brutal stretch of his life that included losing his father, a double spinal fusion injury, and nine people from his childhood neighborhood dying by suicide within about a year, and how that period reshaped his understanding of money, purpose, and fatherhood.
