Welcome back to Let's Try This Again—I'm your host, B Simone, and this episode is both real and refreshingly honest as I pull back the curtain on my own journey with hustle culture, rest, and self-discovery. I get vulnerable about how hard it's been to slow down after years of being in constant “go mode”—from juggling an at-home podcast setup (y'all, production is NOT for the weak!) to taking real breaks from social media and learning how to be still without feeling guilty. I share what I learned during my week with a friend in Kansas, how witnessing the daily grit of single moms inspired me, and why taking time to reset is actually a game changer—not a setback. PLUS, I open up about a surprise date that made me reflect on femininity, friendship, and my desire to be truly seen for who I am. Whether you're struggling to rest, navigating your own self-worth, or just need permission to date from a place of wholeness, this episode is packed with relatable stories, insight, and motivational takeaways you can use right now.//SPONSORS//Arya: Go to Arya.Fyi/trythisagain and get 15% off your first order.Liquid IV: Squeeze the most out of your Summer with Liquid I.V. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and that applies to Curtis Hanson as much as it applies to anyone else. Still, it's weird to think of the man behind L.A. You've just been promoted — congrats, right? Not so fast. In this episode of the Inside EMS podcast, cohosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson get real about what it actually means to step into a leadership role. Spoiler alert: it's not just a new title and a gold badge. It's a complete shift in responsibility, from caring for patients to caring for your people. Together, they break down how new leaders often swing too far: either trying to be everyone's buddy or going full micromanager. They talk servant leadership, earning trust daily, the power of listening and what “protecting your people from bad decisions above” really looks like. If you're stepping into a new role — or trying to recover from a rocky start — this episode is packed with hard truths, some laughs and solid advice from two guys who've lived it. Memorable quotes “Ask a lot of questions and give your subordinates some ownership over how decisions are made. They didn't get stupid overnight when you got a white shirt. They're still the good people they were before.” — Kelly Grayson “Leadership isn't a title, it's not a reward, it's a responsibility. It's a verb, not a noun, and you have to be able to show your leadership every day.” — Chris Cebollero “Leadership's not about perfection. It's about showing up every day and trying to get better. It's being present in the moment. You show up for your people, you help them be their very best, and you never stop learning how to lead better.” — Kelly Grayson Rate & review Inside EMS Enjoying the show? Send us a textBuying a home might be the American dream, but nobody warns you about the secret nightmares lurking beneath those picturesque front yards. In this eye-opening roundtable discussion, three seasoned homeowners pull back the curtain on what really happens after you get those keys. Our special guest host Fiddy welcomes Wendy, a Cleveland-based realtor with dual expertise as both a property professional and homeowner; Collin, whose 1964 house has taught him the true meaning of "fixer-upper"; and Andrea, who discovered the hard way that previous owners don't always disclose raccoon infestations in the ceiling. Their combined experiences offer a masterclass in homeownership reality. The conversation tackles the maintenance schedules nobody tells you about, with Wendy revealing how something as simple as changing furnace filters every two months can dramatically impact your home's efficiency and your health. The panel debates whether renting truly is easier than owning (it's closer than you might think), and shares war stories about the most challenging home projects they've faced—from kitchen renovations that make cooking impossible to landscaping projects that leave you fighting tree roots for days.Perhaps most valuable are the warnings for prospective buyers: Wendy's revelation about those beautiful front yard trees potentially destroying your sewer lines might save you $21,000 in repairs, while Collin's advice to immediately check basements and attics that aren't shown in listing photos could prevent catastrophic surprises. And Andrea's passionate plea to never skip home inspections, regardless of market pressure, resonates with anyone who's ever discovered an expensive problem post-purchase.Whether you're a current homeowner nodding along in painful recognition, a prospective buyer seeking insider knowledge, or someone content with renting who enjoys a bit of schadenfreude, this conversation delivers practical wisdom wrapped in enterSubscribe for exclusive content: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1530455/support Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREEBuddy's Beard CareBuddy's Beard Care provides premium men's grooming products at an affordable price.Sweet Hands SportsElevate your game with Sweet Hands Sports! Jay and Domenic sit down late at night with Chef Michael Guerrieri for a raw, funny, and heartfelt conversation about life in the kitchen. Chef Michael opens up about growing up in a family of bakers, why he chose cooking over baking, and how simplicity and culture shape the food he makes today. They dive into bread traditions from Italy and Portugal, the art of olive oil, and why some old‑school methods still beat trendy shortcuts. It's part storytelling, part culinary masterclass, with Chef Michael sharing his morning rituals, his thoughts on menu simplicity, and how a single great product can define a concept. If you love behind‑the‑scenes chef talk, this one's all flavour and heart.
What do you do when your life looks fine on the outside… but deep down, you're wondering, “Is this really it?”In this episode, I sit down with my friend Rachel Awtrey—host of the Real Talk with Rachel podcast and author of her brand new book, Love Your Life, Even When You Don't Like It. Rachel is the girl you want in your corner: deeply honest, wildly encouraging, and somehow able to make you laugh and cry in the same breath. We talk about what it looks like to actually love your life when it feels boring, heavy, or just plain hard. Not in a cheesy, throw-a-gratitude-journal-at-it kind of way—but in a real, boots-on-the-ground, Jesus-meets-you-in-the-middle kind of way.Rachel shares: • Why honesty is the doorway to freedom • How to hold grief and gratitude at the same time • The difference between joy for life and joy in life • And the questions that helped her stop faking “fine” and start living freeIf you've ever felt guilty for not loving the season you're in—or if you've ever whispered “I love Jesus but I kind of hate this part of my life right now”—this episode is a safe, sacred space for you.You don't have to love every part of your life to love your whole life. This conversation will show you how.

In this episode, I take you back to a question that unraveled a lot for me: What is enough? Especially when it comes to money.A few years ago, I was chasing the magic million. I thought hitting that number would mean I'd made it as a coach. As if that was the only metric that mattered. Then I stopped and I asked what's actually enough for me?That question cracked something wide open. I started looking at my money differently. I got right up close to it, every single detail. I sat down with a spreadsheet and went through my finances with the kind of fine-tooth comb you use when you've had lice. No stone left unturned.I calculated what it really costs for me to live on planet Earth, from groceries to business expenses, house payments, taxes, ETFs, donations, subscriptions, clothes, the lot. I factored in how Steve and I have set up our money together and got clear on what my version of enough actually looks like. What I found was sobering. Eye-opening. And a bit of a slap. Because the million-dollar goal was never mine. It was a borrowed dream. And I would've kept pouring out energy I didn't have chasing something that was never mine to strive for in the first place. This episode is for anyone who's been running on the treadmill of “more,” wondering why it never feels like enough. Maybe it's time to stop and ask what your enough actually is.Buy my book, Authentic - coming home to your true self - AUS, EUR, USAJoin Authentic The Program - registrations open nowCoach with me 1:1 - Book a 20-minute call nowThe Good Life - sign up nowFree Wheel of Life Assessment - take the test nowWrite into us - let us know what you want to hearwww.katjohn.com.auSupport the show
