7/2/2025 What an awesome debate we had today on the topic of: Do you think someone would cancel their phone, and phone plan or their gym membership first...for us it was a pretty simple debate! Hope you enjoy it as well. July 4th 8am and 9:30am only! Artist - Forrest FrankSong - Happy
Take a front-row seat as our gym undergoes a transformative programming revolution! After 11 years, I'm finally stepping into the programming role alongside my brother to craft workouts that better serve our community's evolving needs. The cornerstone of our new approach? I'm personally testing every workout two weeks before you see it, ensuring each session delivers the right stimulus and flows properly within the weekly training cycle. This hands-on involvement means when you see my score posted, that workout has received my seal of approval for effectiveness and enjoyment. We're redefining our LEAN program with a clear purpose: Lighter weights to build Endurance, Accessible to all, and Nurturing long-term health. Meanwhile, our South Gym is becoming an official High Rocks training facility starting July 14th, offering specialized workouts featuring more farmer carries, sled pushes, and running for those drawn to this increasingly popular competition format. With our gym's average member age being 43, we're prioritizing balanced programming that builds strength while supporting long-term health, including more unilateral movements to address muscular imbalances. Gone are the massive testing blocks—instead, assessments will be thoughtfully distributed throughout our programming, including classic CrossFit benchmarks that connect us to the global fitness community. The relationship between intensity, volume, and recovery stands at the heart of our philosophy. For those training 2-3 days weekly, higher intensity makes sense with ample recovery time. But for 5-6 day athletes, moderated intensity with consistent volume becomes crucial. As I remind members: "Consistency is numero uno. If your intensity is so high that you can't train consistently, it's not a good thing."Want to share your programming thoughts? I'm all ears! While we can't satisfy everyone all the time, we're committed to hitting that sweet spot of serving 90% of members most of the time with workouts that keep you coming back, feeling good, and making progress year after year.Follow us on Instagram here! https://www.instagram.com/doubleedgefitness/

Is the CrossFit Games a sport… or something bigger? In this episode we break down why the CrossFit Games defy traditional definitions of sport and stand alone as the world's most comprehensive test of elite fitness. Unlike football, basketball, or even Olympic events, the Games don't measure who's best at a single skill—they measure who's "The Fittest on Earth". From unknown event programming to the raw versatility demanded of athletes, we'll dive into why the Games aren't just a competition—they're a crucible. A proving ground. A battlefield where athletic specialization takes a backseat to adaptability, grit, and pure, functional capacity. This isn't about scoring points—it's about navigating the unknown and unknowable. Is it time to stop calling it a sport and start calling it what it really is? Tune in and decide for yourself.

AJ's journey began when the 2020 pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities of our food system. What started as selling his family's beef direct-to-consumer evolved into managing a USDA meat plant in Wyoming, where he uncovered the real issue: ✅ Farmers and ranchers produce high-quality food, but middlemen control the system. ✅ Consumers are paying more, while producers make less. ✅ The system is broken, but there's a solution!
