On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, Gov Josh Shapiro associates radical Muslim elements, including imams in Philadelphia, and providing $5 million to their academy, while hypocritically downplaying his Jewish heritage to non-Jews and emphasizing it to Jews, which is diabolical politics.  Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born intellectual, wrote an eye-opening article on Somali culture, which Shapiro ignores while funding radical Islamists. Immigrants must be vetted for assimilation potential. Governors Josh Shapiro and Spencer Cox are enabling cultural erosion through political correctness. The Islamist belief system is incompatible with Americanism. Afterward, it's important to educate the young people about America's history. They are brainwashed by misinformation and by an agenda they don't understand themselves, only because they were taught to do it. We need to educate our future generations, teaching them about people the unknown people who founded our country, such as Roger Sherman, Gunning Bedford Jr and Daniel of St Thomas Jenifer. Later, Rep Jim Jordan calls in to discuss his full support for the Antisemitism Awareness Act. There's a small but potentially growing anti-Israel stance among conservatives and it's worrisome. He also announces that Special Counsel Jack Smith will testify in a closed-door deposition under oath next Wednesday. If you've ever listened to the fans at a college or professional football game, you know some of them are the ultimate experts at what their team is doing wrong and what they should be doing. It's just amazing some of those fans haven't been hired as, like, head coach of the team, right? After speaking for professional football chapels and getting to know some of the players, I was less than patient with their critics all around me up in the stands. I mean, I knew some of those guys on the field. I knew they had everything on the line when they played and that they were the only heroes in the game. You know, there are no heroes in the stands. Sometimes I just wanted to stand up and say to one of those guys: by the way, I never did because they were all bigger than I am. But I wanted to say, "Hey! Why don't you get out of the stands and get in the game!" I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Get In the Game." I've got to wonder if Jesus isn't trying to say something like that to many of His "fans," which by the way, He has plenty of. There are millions of believers who are willing to go to Jesus' meetings, give to Jesus' causes, and cheer for the ones that are on the field. Oh yeah, and sometimes criticize from the stands how the players are playing. But Jesus doesn't need any more fans. He needs players - players who will join Him in winning some victories; some lives for the cause that He gave His life for! In Numbers 32, where we find our word for today from the Word of God, there is a sobering picture of the spiritual dynamics in Christ's church today. The Jews are preparing to go in and challenge the Canaanites for the Promised Land. The Jewish tribes of Reuben and Gad had been told that the land God was giving them was on the East side of the Jordan - the safe side. All the other tribes would have to go in and fight for their land on the other side of the river. The "East-siders" had this great idea, "Moses, how about we just stay here with our families and set up our little homes and farms?" Moses' reply in Numbers 32:6 comes echoing down through the centuries as a wakeup call for complacent Christians today. He said, "Shall your countrymen go to war while you sit here?" Man, I can almost hear Jesus saying that to us today. "Should persecuted Christians and struggling missionaries take all the risks and fight all the battles to reach the lost while you sit here?" Or, in other words, "Get out of the stands and get in the game!" Later, Moses said that if they failed to leave their comfort zone and go with their brothers into the combat zone, they should "be sure your sin will find you out" (Numbers 32:23). Did you know that's where that verse comes from? Sin that will find you out is the sin of complacency and passivity when there are battles to fight for the Lord! Today, the battle isn't for land, it's for lives - people who will spend eternity in either heaven or hell, people all around us and half a world away. Jesus' Great Commission to get out His Gospel cannot be delegated to a few spiritual daredevils we call missionaries. His Great Commission, His final orders before He left for heaven is always first person singular! Jesus intends for the cost and the risk of rescuing a dying world to be equally shared by all those who belong to Him! The Son of God sacrificed everything for it, and many have over the years, including this past year, sacrificed their lives for it. And many others have given their whole lives to this greatest cause in the universe. So who are we to just sit passively in the stands, just cheering or even jeering? So many of our brothers and sisters have gone to war. How can we sit here and ask them to make all the sacrifices? There is a war to win for Jesus Christ! It's time to get out of your comfort zone and go where your Savior is - in the combat zone!

In a powerful interview with Jewish advocate Alan Skorski, Australian broadcaster Erin Molan renewed her call for the global release of unedited Hamas body-cam and GoPro footage from the October 7, 2023, massacre, saying the world must be forced to witness the “celebratory joy” terrorists displayed while committing rape, murder, and mutilation. Molan, former Sky News Australia anchor and current host of The Erin Molan Show, visited the sites of the Nova music festival slaughter and ravaged kibbutzim last year. She told Skorski that what disturbed her most was not only the brutality itself, but the “reveling” and “celebration” captured on video by the Hamas terrorists as they burned babies alive, decapitated elderly residents, and paraded mutilated bodies. “These weren't just acts of murder,” Molan said. “They were laughing. They were proud. They were filming it like it was the greatest day of their lives.” The Australian broadcaster has emerged as one of the most outspoken non-Jewish voices against antisemitism and pro-Hamas apologism in the West. A year ago, she released a widely viewed video condemning the “moral decline” of Western feminists who remained silent—or worse, marched in solidarity with Hamas—after verified reports of systematic sexual violence against Israeli women and girls. Molan singled out conservative commentators Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, accusing them of “Israel-bashing for clicks” and abandoning moral clarity in favor of contrarian outrage. She also excoriated her fellow Australians who stayed silent when pro-Hamas demonstrators gathered outside the Sydney Opera House days after the massacre chanting “Gas the Jews” and “Death to the Jews.” When Skorski asked whether Israel made a public-relations mistake by withholding the most graphic October 7 footage out of respect for victims' families, Molan said the majority of bereaved families she met personally told her they would have supported releasing the material if it could wake up the world. “Most of the families I spoke with said, ‘Show it. Let the world see what they did to our children, our parents, our babies,'” Molan recounted. The broadcaster, whose father served in Iraq against the Taliban, ISIS, and Al-Qaeda, drew direct parallels between the Islamist groups her father fought and the Hamas terrorists who proudly documented their own war crimes. Molan now travels internationally speaking primarily to non-Jewish audiences who she believes are vulnerable to Muslim Brotherhood-linked propaganda dominating social media and campuses. She asks listeners to imagine themselves in the place of Shiri Bibas, the young mother dragged away at gunpoint with her two red-headed sons—Ariel, 4, and 9-month-old Kfir—still held hostage in Gaza more than two years later. “What if that was you on the back of that motorcycle with your babies?” she challenges audiences. He [devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him [devil]. When he [devil] lies, he [devil] speaks his [devil] native language, for he [devil] is a liar and the father of lies. Did you hear all that? Jesus is affirming the devil is not only a real being; he is actively acting as a deceiving and disruptive force in the world and in our lives daily.This is where, sadly, for most in the visible church and many believers, a disconnect happens in their faith that directly impacts their walk of faith. When referreing to the devil in this John 8 passage, Jesus is referring to the creation narrative presented in Genesis Chapter 3. In that passage, the devil [called the serpent in Genesis 3] deceives Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, which she gives to Adam who was with her, and when Adam ate the fruit, both Adam and Eve died spiritually. The devil murdered them both and has continued murdering humanity up to this very day with his lies and deceptions.For completeness, the devil has several names in the Bible, which are identified in Revelation  20:2 – He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.What I am speaking of is the devil's agents in the world and in the church who have convinced most in the visible church that the creation narrative, and to be honest, most if not all of the five books of Moses and Old Testament prophetic texts are myths made up by ancient writers. The devil deceives those holding such positions that they are above the Scriptures, above God himself, as Jesus, who is God, mentioned to those opposing him. They thought they were so superior to Jesus that they had him crucified.Let me hit this a little harder before I continue, as the basis of my presentation proceeds from the creation narrative. In the John 8 passage just quoted above, Jesus told the Jews he was speaking with that they were children of the devil. How can that be? Isn't everyone a child of God? The simple answer is NO! Everyone is not a child of God. Everyone was created individually by God after the image of Adam who was created in the Image and likeness of God. Eve herself was of Adam, taken from his rib.Let me demonstrate this once again using the words of Jesus, who would know the truth. Jesus told a parable about seeds sown on four different types of ground and how those seeds responded to the word of God.  For the seed sown on the first type of ground Jesus explains in Luke 8:12 – Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

“King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, ‘Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?’” (Matthew 2:3–4 NLT) Imagine for a moment that you’re living in first-century Jerusalem. You hear mysterious visitors from the east speak of a star that has been leading them to “the newborn king of the Jews.” These wise men are indicating that the long-awaited Messiah has come! You know from prophecy that the Messiah is to be born in Bethlehem, which is only five miles away. Wouldn’t you be inclined to make the short journey to check out their story? Wouldn’t you want to know if the Savior had come? Herod was right to expect answers from the leading priests and teachers of religious law as to where the Messiah would be born. And while they interpreted the writings of Micah properly, they should have been more invested in the matter. These men were the theological scholars of their day. They knew Scripture inside and out. It was their job to study its words and number its letters and lines to ensure careful copying of scrolls. They knew the details of God’s Word so well, but they cared so little. They knew where the Messiah would be born, but they didn’t care about a baby king as much as they cared about an adult monarch who could line their pockets with gold. They were too preoccupied to bother with Jesus. Nothing stunts spiritual growth like spiritual pride. It was true in the first century, and it’s true in the twenty-first century. When you approach the countless truths of God’s Word with an attitude of “I already know that,” or “I’ve already heard that,” or “That doesn’t apply to me,” you limit their impact on your life. You dull your senses to the wonders of Scripture. One of the devil’s masterstrokes is to use frequent exposure to Scripture to foster a sense of spiritual pride. Sometimes when you hear the Word of God again and again, you can enter a place of complacency, a place of apathy. You might even find yourself asleep, spiritually speaking. I find it interesting that many of the Bible’s warnings to “wake up” are addressed to believers. The apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Thessalonica, “So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded” (1 Thessalonians 5:6 NLT). The religious scholars of the first century missed Jesus’ birth because they were in a spiritual slumber. If we’re not careful, we can miss the celebration of Jesus’ birth for the same reason. Approaching the Christmas season—and the Christian life—with an attitude of prideful familiarity keeps us from experiencing the life-changing blessings that Christ offers. It’s important that we stay humble and recognize that there is always more to learn, more to apply, and more to change. Full Transcript Below: Divinely Empowered for Our Greatest ChallengesJennifer Slattery (host of Faith Over Fear) Bible Reading:But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, and they did not make them cease till the matter should come to Darius, and then answer should be returned by letter concerning it. (Ezra 5:5, ESV) Today’s verse and the historical context surrounding it assure us that when God assigns us a task, be that to raise children, complete a work project, lead a team, launch a ministry, or pursue a dream, He gives us everything we need to do all that He asks. And while we will likely always experience opposition, whenever we seek to live for Jesus, the events recorded in Ezra and Nehemiah also assure us that He is greater than any opposition we’ll face. In short, He finishes what He begins. The question is, how will we respond when difficulties come? Will we cower in fear, falter in fatigue, or trust in His provision, protection, and care? Presumably, this was a question with which Ezra, the religious leader introduced in the Bible book bearing his name, and the returning exiles wrestled as they labored, for decades, to rebuild what the Assyrians destroyed seventy years prior. Here’s the backstory. Despite centuries of prophetic warnings in which the Lord pleaded with His people to return to Him, they remained set in their rebellion and violent and oppressive ways. Therefore, God gave them the autonomy they wanted, removed His protective hand, and allowed their enemies to conquer them and cart them off to a pagan nation to live as exiles. Yet, faithful to His promise, 70 years later, the Lord mercifully and miraculously returned them to their beloved homeland. Their arrival was bittersweet, filled with celebration for their liberation and return and sorrow for the destruction they saw once back in their beloved capital city. They found Jerusalem’s wall broken down, the gates burned, and the temple destroyed. But they also arrived with an abundance of the Lord’s miraculous provision, given to them by Cyrus, a pagan king. Perhaps buoyed by this obvious display of God’s favor and hope in the restoration He’d previously promised through the prophet Isaiah, they immediately set to work, built an altar, and re-established worship. Not long after, however, their progress stalled due to opposition and their desire to build homes in which to live. The intimidation they experienced from the locals steadily increased and could’ve halted the restoration project indefinitely, leaving Jerusalem like the many other ancient cities that once thrived but are no more. That’s not what happened, however, because the eye of God, meaning His favor and hand, remained on His people until they completed everything He’d assigned and promised. Because again, when God assigns something, He gives us everything we need, be that resources, strength, and people to help, to do all that He’s asked. Intersecting Life & Faith: This story reveals two co-existing realities we all encounter in this life. As you probably know from experience, living for Jesus isn’t, and never will be, easy. Jesus told us to expect trouble: local, national, and global conflict, relational ruptures and betrayal, sickness and poverty, and pain. But He also told us to “take heart”; to sink our faith roots deep into Him, the One who overcame the world and conquered death and the grave that we, His beloved and empowered children, might also overcome. In Romans 8:31-37, Paul, a first-century evangelist who wrote much of the New Testament, phrased it this way: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who spared not his own Son but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things? … Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or anguish or persecution or famine …” (ESV). And here’s one of my favorite parts—the last line: “in all these things” –and a thousand more besides— “we are more than conquerors” –as in, we’ve secured, in Christ, overwhelming victory— “through him that loved us” (ESV). Lord, remind us of this truth, your promises, and unchanging character the next time we feel timid, overwhelmed, and defeated that we may pursue Your will with perseverance and Spirit-ignited determination. “Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared.” (Matthew 2:7 NLT) We can prepare our hearts for Christmas not just by reading God’s Word, but also by reflecting on it. We can celebrate the fact that Jesus’ coming fulfilled prophecies that had been announced centuries earlier. We can lean into the trustworthiness of its promises. We can anticipate the coming glory of God’s kingdom. If King Herod had reflected more on God’s Word, his story would have had a much different ending. Instead, he’s known today as the man who tried to stop the first Christmas. His efforts resulted in a spectacular failure and fall. With all his wealth and power, he came to complete ruin. Historical writings tell us that in the final year of his life, his body was infected with disease. Ironically, Herod pretended to be a worshipper. He said to the wise men, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!” (Matthew 2:8 NLT). Yet Herod was a false worshipper. There are people like him today. They say they believe in God, but they live a life that contradicts what the Scriptures teach. Herod wanted to be the king of his own life, but he really was a slave. He ended up being not the King of the Jews but the king of fools. Herod ended up on the ash heap of history like dictators before and after him, reminding us that those who live wicked lives eventually will reap what they sow. Adolf Hitler went into his bunker and shot himself as his nation crumbled around him. Saddam Hussein was found hiding in a hole and was eventually executed by his own people. Muammar Gaddafi was hunted down by his own people, beaten, and shot to death. All those who blaspheme God, fight with God, or try to stop the work of God eventually will fail. Yet God’s Word and His plan ultimately will prevail. Philippians 2:9–10 says, “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth” (NLT). The glorification of Jesus is as inevitable as His birth. God gives us a choice. We can humble ourselves, submit to Christ, and enjoy His blessings. James endorsed this option. “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor” (James 4:10 NLT). So did Peter. “So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor” (1 Peter 5:6 NLT). Or we can be humbled. In this episode, Abdu Murray and Derek Caldwell address two important questions submitted by viewers—one about the origins of Christian belief, and one about sharing the Christian faith with people from different backgrounds.  1. "Is Jesus just a copy of Zoroaster?" We examine the popular claim that Christianity borrowed its key ideas from ancient Zoroastrianism. Daily Dose of Hope December 8, 2025   Scripture – Acts 12   Prayer:  Lord Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, We give you all the glory and praise.  Thank you for being a God who provides.  Thank you for being a God who heals.  Thank you for being a God who sees past our brokenness and invites us into relationship with you.  Help us, Lord, to grow more deeply in love with you every day.  More of you and less of me.  In Your Name, Amen.   Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope Church daily Bible reading plan.  We are getting to the end of our reading plan after months of walking through the Gospels and Acts.  I would love to hear what you have learned.  What have been your big takeaways?    Today, we walk through Acts 12.  Things are getting rough for Peter and the Christians.  Persecution is increasing.  Herod is getting especially agitated and throws Peter in prison.  I want to talk about the miracle of Peter being released but first let's discuss the Herod dynasty because I think that's important.  The Herodians were given power of the region of Judea by the Romans.  While they were brutal and power-hungry, they did consider themselves to be Jews.  This Herod from Acts 12 is Herod Agrippa I.  His grandfather was Herod the Great; he was the Herod who called for the killing of the Jewish baby boys after Jesus' birth.  He was the nephew of Herod Antipas, who ordered the beheading of John the Baptist and to whom Jesus was brought.    All of these Herodian kings were insecure and felt easily threatened by those who criticized them or their way of life.  Thus, this Herod was persecuting Christians and had already executed James, the brother of John.    Peter is arrested and thrown in prison with many, many layers of security.  But no soldiers or shackles can stop God!  He sends an angel who frees Peter and leads him out of the prison to a home where many believers were meeting.  The believers had been praying fervently for Peter's release and then they were shocked when he shows up at the door of the home where they had gathered.  Talk about answered prayer!  This is just the beginning of the miracles God is going to do.   Do you believe in answered prayers?  Do you pray bold prayers like these believers?  The boldness of our prayers speak volumes about how we feel about God.  It's clear that the early church believed that God was all-powerful, that God was a God of miracles, a God of provision, and a God who would take care of their every need.  The big question is – do we?   Finally, let's talk about Herod's death.  After securing some kind of peace deal, King Herod stands before the people and gives his royal address.  The people go wild!  They begin to say this is the voice of a god, not a man.  And insecure Herod just soaks it up.  But God is having none of it, and he strikes him down dead.  Y'all, arrogance does not pay.  God calls his people to be humble.  All glory and honor belong to God.  Yes, there are times in which we can be appropriately proud but we have to be very, very careful.  The way of Christ is always humility.   Blessings, Pastor Vicki
