Balazs met with a mutual friend from Swatch Group Germany and is sporting his Omega Speedmaster Professional Speedy Tuesday "Ultraman."Current brands going independentFor our main topic, we respond to the request from two of our listeners who asked if some brands could benefit by going independent. We do our best to tackle the subject and mention five marques. Cartier is a huge brand and could likely survive on its own, but we're not sure if there's a benefit to being alone. Longines is a brand that made world-class movements long ago, and we'd love to see some of the classic chronograph movements again. Omega, like Cartier, could likely survive as an independent, and we play out the possible scenarios. Desde criança, o esporte sempre foi parte essencial de sua vida. Ela costuma brincar que não sabe se aprendeu primeiro a andar ou a pedalar. Seu fascínio pela natação também começou cedo, quando aprendeu a nadar observando os mais velhos na piscina de um clube. Logo, estava matriculada em um projeto da Prefeitura de Curitiba, na piscina pública da Praça Osvaldo Cruz, onde deu suas primeiras braçadas. A corrida entrou em sua vida ainda na escola, graças ao incentivo de uma professora que a desafiou com testes físicos e a inscreveu em provas de velocidade nos Jogos Escolares e em corridas rústicas no Parque Barigui. Na adolescência, ela explorou outras modalidades, tornando-se atleta de Ginástica Olímpica e Handebol, jogando como profissional até os 22 anos de idade, consolidando-se como uma atleta versátil e determinada. O triathlon surgiu em dezembro de 1991, quando ela tinha 21 anos, morava e estudava em Florianópolis. Um convite para participar de uma prova na Lagoa da Conceição mudou sua vida.  Uma semana antes ela trocou sua bicicleta de passeio por uma Caloi 10 e se jogou no desafio. A união das suas três paixões — natação, ciclismo e corrida — relevaram no triathlon um desafio que a cativou completamente. A partir de então, ela não parou mais. Aos 29 anos, em 1999, ela encarou seu primeiro Ironman em Porto Seguro, marcando o início de uma jornada repleta de conquistas em provas de resistência extrema. Aos 37 anos, alcançou outro marco importante na sua vida: completou seu primeiro Ultraman do Havaí, uma das provas mais desafiadoras do mundo. Ao longo de 33 anos dedicados ao triathlon, ela acumulou uma trajetória fascinante. Até hoje, foram 31 provas de Ironman, incluindo 6 participações no mundial de Ironman de Kona. Nas distâncias do Ultraman, ela completou 10 provas, 7 delas no Havaí, tendo conquistado o segundo lugar em 2011, a vitória no Ultraman Arizona e 2 vitórias no UB515, consolidando-se como uma das atletas mais experientes e respeitadas do Brasil. Sua jornada é um testemunho de que, com foco e perseverança, é possível transformar sonhos em realidade. Através de sua Assessoria Esportiva, ela vem orientando atletas e entusiastas do esporte, mostrando que os limites existem apenas para serem superados. Dede shares her remarkable story from an NCAA DI swimming career to working on Wall Street. Over a decade later, she returned to competitive sport and became a professional Ironman triathlete aged 35. At 52 years old, Dede won the Ultraman World Championships, a multi-day triathlon event, and is still performing at an elite level now. We discuss tips for career longevity and how Dede has maintained her health and love for sport throughout. Dede's events, Ironman and Ultraman triathlons, are long endurance events requiring considerable fuel before, during and after training and racing. We dive deep into fueling during exercise, comparing real food and sports nutrition products like gels and chews, creating a fueling plan, and problem solving GI issues. Dede shares advice for meeting your nutrition needs on a busy schedule, as well as how she uses food trackers to her benefit. We highlight how, with the support of a professional, trackers can support performance nutrition goals. [School of Movies 2024] You don't need to know a single thing about Ultraman to love this film. We brought in Kaiju and Sentai expert Dan Hoeppner to educate us along with you, regarding the history and cultural background of this character, but the film itself, viewable on Netflix is an absolutely perfect starting point. It is a smashing standalone story about the son of Ultraman, who grew up to be not especially great in the role himself, and instead pursued his mother's passion, becoming a baseball player. He's selfish and arrogant, not a team player, and has estranged himself from his widowed father, Hayao, with neither of them finding fulfilment. Then Kenji had an adorable, ginormous baby space dragon dropped into his lap, and he's about to find out that being a Dad is harder than it looks.
