Jarred Taylor from Black Rifle Coffee is the second guest to sit down in the new studio, and we kicked this one off by talking about branding—what it actually takes to build something real, why most brands fail, and how hard it is to grow without losing the core of what made it work in the first place. From there, things went where they usually do. We broke down movies and TV through a tactical lens, talked about what Hollywood consistently gets wrong, and then spent some time on the "Wet Boys"—Jarred's online aviation squadron that flies simulated demos, builds digital airshows, and uses their downtime to antagonize the Air Force Thunderbirds on social media. We're knee deep into #FANuary where you have picked the movies we watch and this week we take a turn towards the serious.  Seriously hunky guys, we mean.  Actually, one seriously hunky guy that is NOT afraid to take his shirt off wherever and whenever he likes.  We're talking about Maxwell Caulfield and also the 1985's THE BOYS NEXT DOOR which also stars some guy named Charlie Sheen who was never in anything else.  THE BOYS NEXT DOOR follows Roy (Maxwell Caulfield) and Bo (Charlie Sheen) who travel from someplace 6 hours away from Hollywood for a weekend of parties and murder.  There's a lot more murder than parties.  In fact, the only party they attend is at in their home town.  Regardless, Roy and Bo find that life in Hollywood is hard.  You have to pay before you pump gas, you have to be 21 to order alcohol at a bar and taking up two spots with your car is practically is not seen kindly by the locals. For this episode, we're joined by Ryan Verrill, host of The Disc Connected podcast and the Executive Director of Someone's Favorite Productions Podcast Network.  In addition to discussing the movie, Ryan is also giving us our annual reviews.  He will be sending out a peer review survey to all of our listeners, and we really, really hope you'll put in a good word for us.  Please and thank you.In addition to receiving our reviews, we discuss what makes a good party, 1980's gas prices and the unjust response to Grease 2.  This episode has everything.

In this episode of Wake Up, Look Up, Pastor Zach responds to a CNN article on how social media is shaping teenage boys, he unpacks how algorithms are discipling young men with distorted ideas about masculinity—leading to insecurity, loneliness, and confusion. The solution isn't just less screen time, but more intentional presence. Boys need older men who will show up, spend time, and speak truth into their lives. When fathers and mentors invest consistently, young men won't need to look to the internet for identity and guidance.Have an article you'd like Pastor Zach to discuss? We welcome Macaulay Williams, CEO of Morningside Brands and co‑founder of Duck Club, to pull back the curtain on launching a spirits brand that marries hunting‑camp camaraderie with disciplined blending and transparent pricing. From his pivot out of law to building multiple labels, Macaulay explains how market cycles, barrel science, and brand identity shape what we pour.We dig into the mechanics that matter—extraction vs oxygenation, why 53‑gallon barrels are a sweet spot, and how rapid aging shortcuts often miss the mark. Then we taste through Duck Club's lineup: a 92 proof Kentucky‑plus‑Indiana blend at $29.99 that drinks far above its price, and the 110 proof High‑Brass at $39.99 that layers in eight‑year Kentucky character and a caramel‑rich finish without chasing heat for heat's sake. Along the way, we touch the fallen rickhouse saga, climate‑controlled warehouses, and why blending may be American whiskey's most exciting frontier right now.Culture is the throughline. Duck Club leans into the real rhythm of duck season—cold mornings, warm fires, and shared stories—and pairs it with conservation action through Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl. With country artist and die‑hard hunter Riley Green as co‑founder, the brand reaches younger drinkers without losing authenticity, using vintage‑inspired design, batch transparency, and lifestyle merch to widen the tent. If you care about flavor, value, and a brand that shows its work, this conversation will recalibrate what you expect from a $30–$40 bottle. If you enjoyed this deep dive into whiskey craft and culture, tap follow, share with a friend who loves a good pour, and leave a quick review. It's Thursday, January 29th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Evangelical college fired teacher for calling homosexual behavior sin A Christian teacher in England went to court last week to defend his religious freedom. Dr. Aaron Edwards worked at Cliff College in Derbyshire. Three years ago, the Evangelical college fired him after he called homosexuality a sin in a social media post. Edwards is now appealing a tribunal decision that upheld his dismissal with the help of the Christian Legal Centre. Andrea Williams, chief executive of the organization, said, "This case raises serious questions about freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and the lawful limits of institutional authority.” Referencing Acts 4:20, Edwards said he does not regret speaking the truth, saying, “As the apostles said before their accusers, ‘We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.'” Euthanasia bill failed in French Senate A bill to legalize euthanasia failed in France's Senate last week.  Political deadlock among lawmakers effectively killed the bill. Gregor Puppinck is the Director General of the European Centre for Law and Justice. He said, “This text was terrible. It allowed euthanasia and suicide by decision of a single doctor, at the oral request of a patient, in three days, without the relatives being informed and able to take legal action.” Canada euthanized elderly woman against her will Meanwhile, in Canada, an elderly woman was tragically euthanized against her will through the country's Medical Assistance in Dying program.  This according to a report by the Office of the Chief Coroner. The report identified the 80-year-old woman as “Mrs. B.” She initially expressed interest in the program. But later, she wanted to withdraw her request, “citing personal and religious values and beliefs.” However, assessors with the euthanasia program approved the killing after her husband reported experiencing “caregiver burnout.” Proverbs 12:10 says, “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Canada backs off deal with China after Trump tariff threat Canada reached a preliminary agreement with China earlier this month to lower tariffs on certain goods. However, U.S. President Trump criticized the deal. He wrote on Truth Social, “If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.” In response, Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney backed off the agreement with China. Federal Reserve didn't change interest rate In the United States, the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged yesterday. The central bank decided to keep its key lending rate between 3.5 percent and 3.75 percent.  The Fed noted, “Available indicators suggest that economic activity has been expanding at a solid pace. Job gains have remained low, and the unemployment rate has shown some signs of stabilization. Inflation remains somewhat elevated.” Fewer U.S. pastors leaving ministry A new survey from the Barna Group found fewer pastors are considering walking away from the ministry. Twenty-four percent of U.S. senior Protestant pastors say they have seriously considered leaving full-time ministry within the past year. That's down from 42 percent in 2022. Pastoral burnout heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic but has been stabilizing since then. The report noted, “Fewer pastors appear to be in immediate vocational crisis, even as many continue to carry fatigue, grief, and uncertainty about the future of ministry.” Today is birthday of Martin Luther's wife And finally, today marks the birthday of Katharina Von Bora, the wife of Martin Luther. She was born on January 29, 1499. Her mother died in childhood and she was sent to a Catholic boarding school before becoming a nun. At the convent, Katharina discovered the writings of Martin Luther. Along with other nuns, she learned about salvation by grace through faith in Christ. This led Katharina and the nuns to ask Luther for help to escape the convent.  Luther was able to help the nuns find husbands and jobs, except for Katharina. The two were eventually married. Together, they had six children.  Author Michelle DeRusha described Katharina as “a woman who risked marrying one of the most controversial men of the time – a man who could have very likely been burned as a heretic at any given moment. She was a woman who raised six children; ran a boardinghouse; oversaw a farm complete with fruit orchards, livestock, and a fishpond; and advised and cared for her husband.” Consider an excellent, full-color, beautifully illustrated children's book about her entitled Katharine von Bora: The Morning Star of Wittenberg. It is co-authored by Shanna and Jenna Strackbein, twin sisters who were homeschooled in Aransas Pass, Texas, by their beloved mother Jenny. Joel Beeke, President of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan said, "Boys and girls (and adults too) will love this beautiful book about a godly woman who helped to change the world." They discuss widespread flaws in federal welfare programs, including TANF funds for childcare and after-school centers. White's recent report highlights issues like lack of attendance tracking, data errors (duplicates, misspellings), and no evidence of required learning gains, affecting nonprofits such as the Jackson Medical Mall and Boys & Girls Clubs. The conversation extends to Medicaid fraud, such as payments to deceased individuals, and calls for stronger accountability, prosecutions, and congressional reforms. White expresses optimism for bipartisan change driven by taxpayer frustration, independent journalism, and potential political reckonings in upcoming elections.

We sit down with master blender and COO Kieran Walsh of Big Easy Spirits to unpack a five-year whiskey aged in used cooperage and layered with precise infusions—baking spices, citrus peels, and verdant herbs—that amplify what whiskey already does well. No cloying sweetness, no camouflage, just a thoughtfully built 86 proof pour that blooms on ice, hums in a hot toddy, and reshapes what “flavored” can mean without losing its whiskey core.Kieran's journey runs from wine production and restrained oak philosophy to High West's blending lab, where the idea of barrel-aged cocktails and Amaro architecture took root. That background shows in every decision: used barrels keep the oak in line, botanicals track existing whiskey notes rather than fighting them, and the proof point preserves structure in cocktails while staying approachable neat. We explore how hydrophobic compounds unlock aroma with water and heat, why category rules forced a new lane beyond “flavored whiskey,” and how New Orleans—more gumbo than single note—became both muse and proving ground. We also get practical. Expect serving ideas from a minimalist Bourbon Street hot toddy (just whiskey and hot water) to an absinthe-kissed riff worthy of the Old Absinthe House. Kieran shares distribution plans rooted in local love first, then careful expansion to Texas, the Florida panhandle, Mississippi, California, and more. He teases future releases, including older base stocks with alternate infusions and two bourbons waiting in tank—early tasters' reactions ranged from “holy shit” to wide-eyed silence. If you're curious about whiskey innovation, botanical infusions, New Orleans cocktail culture, and how to bridge the gap between purist pours and sugar-heavy flavor bombs, this one's for you. Can you love a bad man? Can an angel be born yesterday? Can a dog be a Kat? These are the questions that have haunted us for six years of Boys' Bible Study, questions we haven't been able to answer until now. Six is a very powerful number. Put a lot of sixes together and that's the devil. But just one more is seven. And when those two numbers sit next to each other, it's the most evil and powerful force unleashed on mankind, greater than God and greater than Satan. On our anniversary, we like to do a yearly recap episode celebrating the film, TV, and other Christian media that was new to us this past year and that we reviewed on the show. We also commemorate the best of the best with our trademark Golden Calf Awards, honoring creators of outsider media we feel are underrecognized by the lamestream. Some major themes from Boys' Bible Study this year include a deep investigation of angels in media, especially 1990s television, the crowning achievement of which is obviously TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. We became even more immersed in Christian and inspirational television with WALKER, TEXAS RANGER, HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, and the more contemporary SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED, while continuing our passion for uncovering faith-based film auteurs. Our favorite discovery of the year was probably the father and son team Jeff and Caleb Johnson. Even more exciting, we acted in one of the films we reviewed. Our brief foray into stardom as cast members of CHI ANN BLAZE OF FURY by 3 ANGELS POWER will be an angel encounter we treasure forever. Some biblical wisdom for our sixth year: And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb." You don't want that to happen, right? So stick tight to your angels and try not to be intoxicated by the evil urges of 666 years of Boys' Bible Study. Anna and Raven discuss the top 3 stolen items from hotels. Producer Justin on the other hand stayed at a hotel this weekend where he was almost positive, he was leaving with the full-sized products in the bathroom because they were so good.  The Doomsday clock is ticking and may actually be... moving? Raven thinks this is a joke, Anna is a little worried. How would you know end of days are coming? Anna dn Raven discuss.  Anna caught Raven in the act of something she hadn't seen in years during the show yesterday. He was balancing a check. Who does that anymore? They discuss old school habits that are now embarrassing.  Anna has been getting ads for “Culturally 30+ bars”. A dream for women who are too old to party with those in their 20s. Producer Sophia discusses the ways she knows she is in a cultural 30+ club.   Trending today is Sydney Sweeney and her pretty illegal stunt that may have gotten her in more trouble than she imagined it would. The reason she did it checks out, though. HUNGRY EYES! Yes. Anna has them. Her obsession with Harvest Snap Veggie chips has gotten to the point where the scale is on the rise. Who would have thought vegetable chips would fluff you up!  Free Solo took place live this weekend, and Alex made it out alive! Anna and Raven have some thoughts on this whole idea. Anna, Raven, Producer Justin and Producer Sophia put their abilities to the test and attempted to climb a building too. It didn't work.  Mary and Luke's teenage son brings his friends over all the time after school, and they eat everything in the house. Dad has had enough; these kids are eating all their food and groceries are expensive. He wants to ask the kids to leave some cash or tell his son to stop bringing kids to their house. Mom thinks that it's part of being a parent to a teen! Boys eat a lot, and they just need to budget for it. They're not going to limit the amount of chips and soda they buy just because their son is lucky enough to have so many friends. Plus, she likes that they're the “hang out” house.   Donna has a chance to win $500! All she has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!
