Folic acid. It's evil, it's toxic and you don't want it in your food but when did that ever stop them? James chats to pathologist Dr Clare Craig - co-founder of the Health Advisory and Recovery Team (HART) - about exactly why folic acid is so bad for you and why you should sign her petition urging the UK government to reconsider its nefarious scheme to ‘fortify' almost all flour with poison from December 2026. Adam Jenkins walked away from the world's most dangerous research project because he became convinced there was something far more important waiting to be built. When his closest friend arrives determined to change his mind, the conversation leads to an unexpected choice that could alter both of their futures. The Cave Where I Am Hiding by Robert Moore Williams. That's next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast. This is the fourth time author Robert Moore Williams has been on the podcast in the last ten months and there will me more. There was The Incredible Slingshot Bombs followed by Thompson's Cat and most recently The Next Time We Die. Today's story asks a question that must have seemed almost impossible when it first appeared in 1951. At the height of the Cold War and the race to build the hydrogen bomb, Robert Moore Williams imagined what might happen if the world's greatest physicist simply refused to keep making bigger weapons. Williams had already written more than 100 short stories when this one hit the stands in the October 1951 issue of Thrilling Wonder Stories. We will find it on page 89, The Cave Where I Am Hiding by Robert Moore Williams… Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, A veteran Coast Guard captain witnesses an impossible rescue at sea, then finds himself chasing an explanation no naval report could ever record. As another convoy battles through the North Atlantic, he must decide whether to trust what every sailor knows cannot exist. Heroes Die Hard by Leroy Yerxa. This week we went to see The Odyssey and came out thinking about Bronze Age collapse, because Nolan’s Odysseus is haunted by the wreckage of a civilization that mistook conquest for strength—and the parallels basically write themselves. Then we checked in on the Leading Economic Index, which has been declining for years while the coincident index keeps climbing, and the gap between those two lines is the gap between Wall Street and everyone else: the market’s fine, the C-suite’s fine, but the person trying to build or buy a house is living in a completely different economy. Every coastal people on earth knows the same rule: if something takes you in the water, you swim for shore. The shore is safety. The A-mi-kuk does not care about the shore. Four long arms. No legs. A body of slick, naked hide, like an animal that was skinned and never got the message. It rises up under kayaks off the Alaskan coast and drags men down into the silt. And when you claw your way onto the mud, certain you have survived it, it keeps coming. It swims through solid ground the way it swims through the sea. Under the tundra. Under the ice. Under the floor of your house. This week, Carman goes into the folklore of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, separates the real ethnographic record from a century of cryptid encyclopedias copying each other, and tells the story of two brothers, a fishing net, and a thing that peels its victims out of their own skin. Because the A-mi-kuk was never a story about the sea. It was a story about the fact that the ground is a promise nobody ever actually made you. President Donald Trump has reportedly directed government agencies to waive non-disclosure agreements for former officials and contractors who want to share relevant UAP information through authorised federal channels. In this breaking news episode, Andy examines what the decision actually means, why witnesses must still approach AARO or the PURSUE task force, and why this is not yet a blanket declassification of UFO information.Could figures such as Lue Elizondo, Eric Davis, James Lacatski or the witnesses interviewed by David Grusch now reveal more? Is this the major development Grusch suggested could happen within 60 to 90 days? And will this finally lead to stronger files, firsthand testimony and evidence reaching the public? The episode also covers the reaction from Eric Burlison, Anna Paulina Luna, Tim Burchett and Avi Loeb, along with the remaining concerns around retaliation, whistleblower protection and trust in the official process. For years, the public has been told that people with firsthand knowledge could not speak because of NDAs. One of those barriers may now have been removed. So, who walks through the door first?
Andy and Pavel return to break down the latest developments surrounding the US government's UFO disclosure push.Dan Farah claims another tranche of evidence could arrive within weeks, with “next-level extraordinary stuff” potentially being released before the end of the year. Meanwhile, Dr Phil was reportedly given early access to the latest UFO files alongside a handwritten message from President Trump: “Have fun with this.” Is Dr Phil being positioned as a mainstream messenger for disclosure, or are people reading too much into it?Also discussed: the revised UAP Disclosure Act amendment, the mysterious Reality Transparency Act, David Grusch's rapidly closing 90-day window, Jeff Nuccitelli joining Vanguard, Ross Coulthart's interest in the controversial CARET documents, Chris Bledsoe's fork experiment, billionaire access to alleged UFO secrets, and what may really be happening on the Moon.https://www.youtube.com/@psicoactivopodcast

The merging of big-technology with the CIA, and general intelligence community, alongside of social and mainstream media, is well-established in both fact and conspiracy lore. However, tracking down the origins of companies like Palantir, Axonius, OpenAI, ShieldAI, Flock Safety, etc., traces the origin of this system of total surveillance mostly to Israel, though countries like China play a role too - though they have worked heavily with Google. Many of the companies involved also derive their names from mythical realms and draw upon the inspiration of the all-seeing eye. Now that eye is infiltrating classrooms. Nvidia-backed Figure AI has been pushed by the White House directly, with its humanoid robot. Now the New York State Salamanca City Central School District is introducing Sally, a lifelike silicone teacher who will know students not by name but ID number. Sally is made by Reealbotix, which draws heavily from the language models of OpenAI, Meta and Google. Two are their hyper-realistic robots were given Hebrew names: Aria and David. Besides robotics, the U.S. has spent $30 billion to replace paper with digital devices in schools. This has reportedly led to a noticeable decline in cognitive ability among Gen Z. Although countries like Japan are famous for electronics, and have implemented similar policies in schools, Japanese students still outperform American students in most areas. Could this mean that perhaps the issue is far more related to effort and study than it is to technology? Then again, according to PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment), Japan had the lowest of all OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries for screen time. A study form the University of Tokyo also found that using paper strengthened brain activity more than screens, which has contributed to some schools taking a hybrid approach -- just like with gasoline and electric vehicles.*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Ever had a leader say "I don't know why we're not innovating more" and then hand you 4,000 more things to do in the same breath? Josh and Will have both lived that disconnect, and on Episode 256 they crack it open — not as another AI hype episode, but as a real conversation about what actually fosters innovation in a time-crunched world. We define innovation using a simple formula (novelty × value × adoption), debunk the myth that "faster" automatically means "winning," and lay out the real ingredients of a culture where AI experimentation can thrive: clarity on value, safety to fail, dedicated time, and recognition when it works.--♣️Want to become a HiTech Club member, support the pod, and get all of the extras on our episodes? New office now open in the UK.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/arcadiagreencoffee/WhatsApp: https://wa.me/353877871523Episode DescriptionThis is episode 2 of a five-part solo series of The Daily Coffee Pro Podcast by Map It Forward titled Saying the Quiet Parts Out Loud.In this episode, podcast host Lee Safar addresses one of the coffee industry's most persistent open secrets: businesses routinely fail to pay their suppliers on time.Payment terms are not suggestions. When a supplier gives a café, roaster, importer or buyer seven, fourteen or thirty days to pay an invoice, that deadline forms part of the commercial agreement. But throughout the coffee supply chain, businesses frequently delay payment because they do not have enough cash available when the bill becomes due.Lee explains how this behaviour moves through the industry. Cafés delay paying roasters, milk suppliers, bakers and produce distributors. Roasters delay paying importers or producers. Importers carrying unpaid invoices may then struggle to pay exporters and farmers. One business's cash-flow problem quickly becomes somebody else's financial risk. The episode examines why this keeps happening. Many coffee businesses use most of their available capital on fit-outs, equipment, design, branding and opening expenses, then begin trading with little money left to cover ongoing operations. They expect revenue to arrive quickly, but when opening hype disappears and sales settle into reality, there may not be enough cash to pay every supplier. Some businesses then begin moving between suppliers. Once one supplier restricts their account or demands cash on delivery, the business opens an account elsewhere while leaving the original debt unpaid. This is not always driven by deliberate dishonesty, but the impact on suppliers can be severe regardless of the intention.Lee argues that the problem is rooted in fragile business models, razor-thin margins and a culture of competing through price. Businesses undercut competitors, give away equipment, chase volume and rely on future growth to compensate for work that is already unprofitable. The result is an industry built like a city of houses of cards. Rising coffee prices, labour costs, rent, logistics, foreign exchange pressure and declining consumer purchasing power are now shaking those businesses at the same time. When a café eventually closes, the consequences do not end with the owner. Employees may lose their jobs and wages without warning. Suppliers may never recover what they are owed. Roasters lose customers, importers lose volume and producers lose future demand. This episode is not about shaming business owners who are struggling. It is a warning about what happens when businesses open without enough operating capital, price irresponsibly and treat suppliers as an involuntary source of finance.Lee encourages struggling owners to confront the situation early, seek a responsible recovery plan and, where recovery is no longer possible, close with dignity rather than transferring the cost of failure to employees and suppliers.Connect with Lee Safar here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/leesafar/ https://www.instagram.com/leesafar If you found this episode valuable, make sure you're subscribed to the podcast and follow along for the rest of this 5-part series. ***************************************About Map It Forward The Daily Coffee Pro is produced by Map It Forward, supporting coffee professionals globally across the supply chain.Website: https://mapitforward.coffeeMailing list: https://mapitforward.coffee/mailinglistPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/mapitforwardInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mapitforward.coffee/Contact: support@mapitforward.org

Have you ever had one hard parenting moment and immediately thought, "I'm such a bad mom"? I know I have. It's amazing how quickly we can go from, "Today was hard," to believing something is wrong with us instead of recognizing we simply had a difficult moment. In this week's Coffee with Heather mentor series, we're talking about one of the most important relationships we have—the relationship with ourselves. As moms, we're often so quick to extend grace to our kids, our spouses, and our friends, yet we're incredibly harsh with the woman staring back at us in the mirror. We hold ourselves to impossible standards, compare ourselves to what we see online, and believe the lie that we're supposed to have motherhood figured out.In this conversation, I want to encourage you to begin recognizing the difference between conviction, condemnation, and shame. We'll talk about why self-compassion isn't self-pity, how to quiet your inner critic, and how to replace the lies we believe with the truth of God's Word. Motherhood was never meant to be lived under the weight of perfection. God isn't asking you to be a perfect mom—He's inviting you to faithfully walk with Him, receive His grace, and extend that same grace to yourself. If you've been carrying around mom guilt, feeling like you're constantly falling short, or wondering if you're enough, I hope this conversation reminds you that your identity isn't found in one parenting moment. It's found in Christ. There is no perfect formula for raising kids, but there is a faithful God who redeems our mistakes, transforms our hearts, and walks with us through every season of motherhood.Connect with Kim Fredrickson: Facebook: The Self-Compassion Club Instagram: Kim Fredrickson (@kimfredrickson) Connect with Jada Edwards: Website: Jada Edwards Instagram: Jada A Edwards (@jada_edwards) Links Mentioned: Give Yourself a Break: By Kim Fredrickson Give Your Kids a Break: By Kim Fredrickson Don't Mom Alone: By Heather MacFadyen Related Episodes: You are Qualified in Christ :: Jada Edwards [Ep 248] Quiet Your Inner Critic and Practice Self-Compassion :: Kim Fredrickson Remaining You While Raising Them :: Alli Worthington [Ep 420] Featured Sponsors: Wayfair: Ready to upgrade your home for way less? In Ephesians 1:3–14, Paul reminds us of all that is already ours when we belong to Christ. We have been chosen by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and sealed by the Holy Spirit—all according to the riches of God's grace and to the praise of His glory. In this episode, we'll consider what it means to be blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ and how remembering these truths can help us when our circumstances are difficult, our plans don't go as we hoped, or we're tempted to focus on what we don't have. Sunny Hostin is facing intense backlash after newly released police bodycam footage captured her intervention during her adult son's encounter with MTA Police in New Rochelle, New York.Gabriel Hostin, 24, received a trespassing citation on June 16 after officers reportedly found him jogging on restricted Metro-North railroad property. He maintained that he entered through an open gate and did not realize he was in a prohibited area. But it was Sunny Hostin's response that ignited the controversy.During her conversations with police, “The View” commentator reportedly identified herself as a former federal prosecutor and emphasized her son's Harvard education, clean record, and work teaching geometry to children in the South Bronx. Officers remained professional and issued the citation under department policy.Hostin later wrote to prosecutors asking that the citation be dismissed, arguing that the incident was an innocent mistake and that continued prosecution would be unjust. Was this simply a concerned mother and attorney advocating for her son—or a powerful public figure attempting to use her career, connections, and status to obtain treatment unavailable to an ordinary family? In this video, Professor Nez examines the bodycam footage, the officers' response, Hostin's explanation, and the growing debate over privilege, accountability, law enforcement, and the apparent contradiction between her public rhetoric and her private actions.Watch the complete analysis and decide for yourself.Subscribe and turn on notifications for daily breaking news, political commentary, fact-checking, and analysis from Professor Nez.For free and unbiased Medicare help, dial (656) 218-0931 to speak with my trusted partner, Chapter, or go to https://askchapter.org/nez✅ Reach out to me: https://bio.site/professornez✅ ORIGINAL MADE IN U.S.A 250TH AMERICA DESIGNS: https://professornez.myspreadshop.com/✅ Check out our Official Clips Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@professornezclips▶ Support the Channel and Buy us a Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/professornezEducational Commentary & Original AnalysisThis channel presents educational, lecture-style analysis created by a university professor and educator. The show also features former Texas defensive coordinator and national championship-winning head coach Gene Chizik, who shares his thoughts on Sark's program, Will Muschamp's defensive style, Colin Simmons, the SEC grind, and why he's picking Georgia to win the league. In 2024, the world generated an estimated 120 million metric tons of textile waste. That's the equivalent of every person on Earth throwing away about 33 pounds of clothing and other textiles in a single year. If it's easier to picture, 33 pounds- that's equivalent to roughly 30 to 50 pieces of clothing per person in a single year. And the vast majority of those textiles will never become new textiles. Most ultimately end up in landfills or are incinerated. But, like I just did a few moments ago, we often talk about textile waste through the lens of fashion. Strictly the clothes we wear every day.The problem is that this textile problem extends far beyond our closets. It includes textiles used in furniture, carpets, cars, footwear—and yes, that includes outdoor gear and even our pet products like our dog's harness. It's easy to hear this and think the solution is simply to buy less. And while our purchasing decisions do matter, the bigger issue is one of design and production. If products are built to fail, impossible to repair, or quickly replaced by new versions, waste is baked into the system from the start. So what happens when a company takes the opposite approach? What if, when designing a product, it isn't just about selling more of it, but about keeping it in use for years? In episode 227 of the Outdoor Minimalist podcast, I sat down with Monica Broder, Product Design Manager, and Pete Kearns, Head of Product at Ruffwear. The brand we know and love for designing equipment to help us and our dogs explore the outdoors together.Together, we discuss how they designed their Front Range Flex Harness for performance, to reduce manufacturing waste, and to extend its post-consumer life. Ford Frick's name may be familiar to baseball fans, but his story — and his impact on the game — have largely faded from view. Yet for more than four decades, Frick occupied a front-row seat to some of the most transformative moments in baseball history, first as a journalist and publicist, then as National League president and ultimately as Major League Baseball's third commissioner. This week, we're joined by author Dave Bohmer, whose new book, "Ford Frick: Baseball's Third Commissioner and His Four Decades of Shaping the Game," offers a fresh and compelling reassessment of one of the sport's most misunderstood executives. Drawing on extensive archival research, Bohmer argues that Frick was far more than a caretaker commissioner, emerging instead as a pivotal figure whose influence can be found throughout the development of the modern game. Together, we explore Frick's unlikely rise from newspaper reporter to one of baseball's most powerful figures, his leadership during the Great Depression and World War II, his involvement in the creation of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and his stewardship during an era that saw Jackie Robinson break baseball's color barrier, franchises move west, television reshape the business of sports, and expansion transform the major leagues. We also examine the controversies that continue to define Frick's legacy — from the Roger Maris home run debate to longstanding perceptions that he served owners more than the game itself—and discuss why Bohmer believes history has understated his influence on the sport he helped shape. + + + SUPPORT THE SHOW: Buy Us a Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/goodseatsstillavailable The "Good Seats" Store: http://tee.pub/lic/RdiDZzQeHSY BUY THE BOOK: "Ford Frick: Baseball's Third Commissioner and His Four Decades of Shaping the Game": https://amzn.to/4yKveQq SPONSOR THANKS: Royal Retros (10% off promo code: SEATS): https://www.royalretros.com/?ref=SEATS Old School Shirts.com (10% off promo code: GOODSEATS): https://oldschoolshirts.com/goodseats FIND AND FOLLOW: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/GoodSeatsStillAvailable Web: https://goodseatsstillavailable.com/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/goodseatsstillavailable.com X/Twitter: https://twitter.com/GoodSeatsStill YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@goodseatsstillavailable Threads: https://www.threads.net/@goodseatsstillavailable Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/goodseatsstillavailable/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GoodSeatsStillAvailable/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/good-seats-still-available/
