AC Cobra: ¿El PRIMER “HÍBRIDO” de la historia?

El Garaje Hermético de Máximo Sant

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 13, 2026 21:29

This week on Ask Rick, we're looking at the future of today's specialty performance cars. Dealer-built legends like Yenko, Nickey, and Mr. Norm's Mopars became some of the most valuable muscle cars ever built—but will modern performance vehicles from Shelby, Roush, RTR, and Hennessey follow the same path? Rick shares his thoughts on how technology, electronics, and changing collector trends could shape tomorrow's blue-chip collectibles. We also discuss whether the collector car market is really slowing down before diving into another auction challenge. Rick picks his favorite investment from four classic trucks under $35,000 before tackling four collector cars—including a '67 GTO, C4 Corvette ZR-1, Boss 302 Mustang, and Datsun 240Z—to decide which one offers the best long-term value. If you've ever wondered what to buy today for tomorrow, this episode is for you. What are the hottest collector cars in today's market—and more importantly, why? In this episode of The Collector Car Podcast, Greg Stanley introduces the inaugural Collector Car Overall Momentum Index, a new quarterly report designed to identify the vehicles generating the most excitement across the collector car hobby. Unlike traditional price guides, the Overall Momentum Index combines Hagerty valuation trends, auction results, private-market activity, generational demand, and cultural relevance to identify the collector cars truly driving today's market. Greg counts down the Top 20, discusses why the Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari 288 GTO have become the biggest stories of 2026, examines the continued strength of the Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari F50, Lexus LFA, and Ferrari F430, and explains why these cars have become the market's momentum leaders. He also introduces the new Value Momentum Index, highlighting collector cars that may offer the best combination of appreciation, affordability, and future upside—including several Ferraris, vintage trucks, American performance cars, and modern classics that deserve a closer look before everyone else catches on. Whether you're an active collector, investor, enthusiast, or simply enjoy following the collector car market, this episode provides a data-driven look at where the hobby is headed and the trends shaping tomorrow's blue-chip automobiles. 10 RIVALIDADES que cambiaron la HISTORIA: Venganza, Ego y Gasolina

El Garaje Hermético de Máximo Sant

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 26, 2026 23:30

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 28, 2026 22:08

We're throwing you another psychagogic V8 Radio Podcast with your hosts Kevin Oeste and Mike "Q-Ball" Clarke! This time, the guys dive deep into the chaotic, unscripted realities of owning and building classic cars. From Kevin's hilarious (and soaked) misadventure driving his top-down '62 Ford Galaxie convertible through a torrential downpour without working windshield wipers, to Mike's update on his ongoing '67 GTO project, the garage banter is in full gear. Kevin also shares a detailed recap of his recent trip to Washington, D.C. with SEMA, advocating for the "Right to Modify" and explaining how advanced safety tech impacts the future of hot rodding. Plus, the V8 Speed and Resto Shop Engine Shop is absolutely humming with engine builds, including Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs, and a very stubborn Buick 350. Topics Covered The Anatomy of a Rainout: Kevin recounts getting trapped on the highway in his '62 Ford Galaxie convertible during a sudden storm with an inoperable hydraulic top and missing wiper arms. Engine Shop Chronicles: A look inside the booming V8 Speed and Resto Engine Shop, highlighting the trials of a finicky Buick 350 timing cover, numbers-matching Chevelles, and a rare Palisade Green '70 GTO. SEMA Takes D.C.: Kevin breaks down his recent trip to Washington, D.C., educating lawmakers on the ADAS Integrity Act and preserving our freedom to modify vehicles without government intervention. Tuning and Fuel Economy Woes: Kevin tries to solve the mystery of why his fuel-injected, overdrive Galaxy is suddenly getting worse mileage after a complete 20-year tune-up. PLUS: Automotive Trivia Questions (No Spoilers!) What does the "SC" stand for in the classic American Motors Corporation (AMC) SC/Rambler produced from 1958 to 1969? How many total Pontiac Firebird convertibles were built across all generations? “Homologation Specials”: De CARRERAS por la CALLE

¡Benditos reglamentos!

In Episode 72, our guest Felipe "Lipe Piv" Boianovsky talks about how he used GTO as a psychological defense for years, defaulting to solver-approved lines not to optimize play but to protect himself from judgment whenever exploits went wrong. What looks like discipline can be a performance leak. Felipe walks through how insecurity shows up in high-pressure spots, how working with performance coaches and Eastern philosophy gradually shifted his relationship with external approval, and why trusting body intelligence is not mysticism but the output of years of subconscious pattern recognition at the table. The conversation covers the mental mechanics of downswings, including the victimization cycle that makes bad runs worse, how to distinguish the raw emotion from the thinking that amplifies it, and what it means to play your real game when the pressure is on. Felipe also discusses his transition from cash games to MTTs, the specific ICM gaps that hurt cash players in tournament final tables, how he selects live stops by EV calculation, and preparation routines for long online sessions. The honest tension running through all of it: are you using theory to get better, or are you using it to feel safe?

Raffauf recounts IMSA's early experiments with Formula Fords/Vees, the shift to closed-wheel GT racing, the creation of Camel GT, RS/“little car” series on street tires, and All American GT, plus innovations like road-racing stock cars, Group 5, and GTP prototypes developed with the ACO to keep cars available to private teams. He highlights major manufacturers and iconic cars (Porsche 935/962, BMW CSL, Greenwood Corvette, Mazda rotary, Audi 90 GTO, Jaguar, Nissan, Toyota, Ferrari 333 SP), the growth of street races and Firestone Firehawk, rising speeds and safety limits, ownership turmoil, the IMSA split into ALMS and Grand-Am, and the eventual merger leading to today's booming IMSA with strong OEM support and advanced hybrid prototypes. ===== (Oo---x---oO) ===== 00:00 Meet Mark Raffauf 02:14 IMSA Origins Bishop & Bill France 03:55 First Races Open Wheel 04:53 Closed Wheel Camel GT, Small Cars w/ Street Tires 06:32 All American GT Era 10:42 American Challenge Stock Cars 11:39 Group 5 Turbo Monsters 13:48 GTP Arrives Daytona 1978 15:20 935 Evolution And Innovation 18:11 Privateers Payout Philosophy and the Road America Breakthrough 22:29 Lola T600 Ground Effects 26:14 Audi 90 GTO Quattro 28:28 Jaguars Take Over 29:11 Street Races: Miami and the Downtown street racing boom! 29:42 Wild tech experiments 30:13 GTP rules vs Group C 33:06 Firehawk showroom racers 34:47 Night racing survival 36:54 When speed got dangerous 38:46 Ownership turmoil and exports 40:57 GTP peak and aero wars 44:49 World Sports Car era 46:46 Ferrari 333SP dominance 48:11 Split into Grand Am and ALMS 50:57 Merger to modern IMSA 51:49 Hybrids and today's grid 53:53 Closing remarks and sponsors ==================== The Motoring Podcast Network : Years of racing, wrenching and Motorsports experience brings together a top notch collection of knowledge, stories and information. #everyonehasastory #gtmbreakfix - motoringpodcast.net More Information: Visit Our Website Become a VIP at: Patreon Online Magazine: Gran Touring Follow us on Social: Instagram This episode is part of our HISTORY OF MOTORSPORTS SERIES and is sponsored in part by: The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC), The Society of Automotive Historians (SAH), The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Argetsinger Family - and was recorded in front of a live studio audience.

Much of modern #poker strategy revolves around the battle between poker ranges; our own and that of our opponent. But is ranging always the best approach to reaching a decision, particularly since our opponent's range is at best a guess.   In this podcast episode, coach w34z3l looks at strategies that largely ignore traditional ranging. These data-driven approaches are based on how our opponents play in reality, rather than some theoretical abstraction. Ranging still has its place, but consistent poker winners need these additional weapons.   TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Introduction: Ranging Rationale 0:27 Is Range-Based Analysis Still Effective? 0:54 Modern Alternatives: GTO & Data Analysis 2:29 The Guesswork Problem in Ranging 4:07 GTO Analysis vs Traditional Ranging 5:13 How GTO Players Actually Think 7:56 Data-Driven Exploitative Strategies 8:34 Using Pool Data Without Precise Ranges 11:30 Static Game Plans vs Dynamic Adjustments 14:01 When Ranging Is Still Necessary 15:35 GTO vs Exploitative: Which Wins? 17:58 Augmenting Data-Driven Play with Ranging 19:19 The Power of Intuition in Poker 21:00 Final Thoughts on Modern Poker Strategy   **RELATED LINKS** - Poker Ranges & Range Reading: https://www.splitsuit.com/poker-ranges-reading - The Exploitative Edge (Book): https://redchippoker.com/the-exploitative-edge - Poker Intuition Explained: https://redchippoker.com/poker-intuition-explained/ - The Myth Of GTO: https://youtu.be/vn6t9leOArw?si=z5DdAj9Ke9D_DTVx **JOIN US ON DISCORD** Join our free poker Discord today: https://redchippoker.com/discord
