Jozefína Růžičková, majiteľka viac ako 100 medailí vrátane prestížneho "gastronomického Oscara", je živým dôkazom toho, že aj z malej kuchyne na Šumave môže vzísť produkt, ktorý očarí aj tých najnáročnejších gurmánov. Cesta k sladkému úspechu Jozefína začala svoju cestu k výrobe marmelád takmer náhodou. Ako vyštudovaná ekonómka pracovala v korporátnom svete, no po presťahovaní sa na Šumavu a narodení detí hľadala spôsob, ako zostať blízko rodiny a zároveň sa realizovať. "Nechcela som mať deti a potom odísť do Prahy alebo ísť späť do veľkej firmy," spomína Jozefína. A tak sa zrodil nápad na výrobu domácich džemov a marmelád. Prvý krok k svetovému uznaniu prišiel v roku 2015, keď Jozefína na skúšku poslala svoje výrobky do súťaže World's Original Marmalade Awards. "Bolo to úplne na blind," priznáva. "Ani som poriadne nevedela, aké kritériá budú hodnotiť." Napriek tomu získala hneď dve bronzové medaily. Tento nečakaný úspech ju povzbudil k ďalšiemu experimentovaniu a zdokonaľovaniu svojich receptov. Tajomstvo úspechu v pohári Čo robí Jozefínine marmelády tak výnimočnými? Je to kombinácia starostlivého výberu ingrediencií, precíznej prípravy a inovatívnych príchutí. "Používam ovocie, ktoré mám od nás, z našej oblasti, alebo pomaranče, ktoré si jednorázovo objednám zo Sicílie," vysvetľuje. Jej špecialitou sú citrusové marmelády, ktoré sú menej sladké ako tradičné britské verzie, čo im dodáva svieži a intenzívny ovocný charakter. Jedným z jej najúspešnejších výrobkov je marmeláda z červených pomarančov s rakytníkom, ktorá získala dvojitú zlatú medailu v prestížnej súťaži Great Taste Awards. Tento produkt si dokonca našiel cestu do luxusného londýnskeho obchodu Fortnum & Mason, kde nakupuje aj britská kráľovská rodina. Výzvy a prekonávanie prekážok Cesta k úspechu však nebola vždy ľahká. Jozefína musela čeliť mnohým výzvam, od technických problémov pri výrobe až po osobné ťažkosti. "Bol tam covid, rozpad manželstva, ťažký úraz nohy... A do toho som dostala objednávku na dvetisíc pohárikov," spomína na jedno z najťažších období. Napriek bolesti a ťažkostiam sa nevzdala a objednávku splnila. "Keď zvládnem 2000 pohárikov s pokrájanou nohou, tak už zvládnem čokoľvek," hovorí s úsmevom. Tento príbeh ukazuje Jozefíninu neskutočnú odhodlanosť a schopnosť prekonávať prekážky. In episode 43 of the Baltic Triangle podcast we hear from two businesses who used the lockdown period after Covid to re-calibrate their companies and are looking to the future with fresh optimism. The Fermentation Station is a Liverpool-based food and drinks producer owned by Amy Yarker and Sam Watson, who use ancient fermentation methods to preserve their products rather than pump them with preservatives. In 2021 they were winners in the Great Taste Awards and they're very confident of more successes as the business grows. Un total de 27 grups musicals s’han apuntat finalment a ‘’La Murga” la primera mostra local de música que tindrà lloc a la ciutat els dies 23 i 24 de setembre. Properament està prevista una reunió amb els grups per tal d’organitzar les actuacions i el cartell definitiu Les escales de Mont-rebei tancaran al públic a partir del 8 d’agost per ser reparades. S’hi invertiran 450.000 euros i les obres han d’estar acabades abans de l’inici del període de nidificació del trencalòs L’atur torna a pujar al juliol amb 3.310 desocupats més a Catalunya, després de cinc mesos de baixades. Pel que fa a la demarcació de Lleida l’atur cau en 59 persones i situa la xifra de desocupats en 17.942 persones. L’agricultura i la construcció marquen el descens, mentre que els serveis i la indústria registren increments Bellcaire d’Urgell urbanitza la plaça 1 d’Octubre, coneguda també com l’Era. Limita amb la carretera C-53 i comptarà amb una estació de càrrega de vehicles elèctrics. Les obres costaran 230.000 euros, i una part es sufragarà amb el PUOSC Augmenten un 11% les trucades al telèfon 112 el primer semestre de l’any 2022 des de la vegueria de Lleida. Today I'm joined by Liz Wilson, a teacher, passionate home cook and the founder of Ma Baker, an award-winning Bread Bakery. In 2014 Liz split up with her long term partner and father of her three children. She found myself in a small house, working at the local primary school. She took a bread course as a treat, became bread obsessed overnight and eventually Ma Baker was born. She now bakes, sells and delivers up to 100 loaves on a bake day and teach bread classes 3-4 times a week that are transforming people's lives. She's won World Bread Awards, Great Taste Awards and was voted Best Sole Trader at the 2018 British Business Awards. In this fascinating interview Liz shares the challenges that she's faced starting her own business, the expectations and pressures that she had to deal with working from home, the practices that keep her sane and how she's managed to create a work/life balance that works for her and her family. Set in 650 acres of beautiful Cotwolds countryside, the farm rears rare-breed pigs and cattle which are butchered onsite. In the Great Taste Awards last year, a yogurt from a small British dairy beat over 10,000 competitors to win the Supreme Champion title. This surprised many, not least because it was a simple, plain, 'Greek-style' yogurt.This type of fermented milk product, often strained to remove whey, is a relative newcomer in the UK - but is on the rise. In fact, Greek and Greek-style yogurt is the fastest growing sector of the UK yogurt market. It has also been at the centre of a High Court battle, an American health craze and a multi-billion dollar yogurt war.In this edition of the Food Programme, Sheila Dillon discovers the secrets of making this thick, creamy... and delicious cultured food. It was originally made in this country by immigrants such as the founders of Tim's Dairy, now run by four brothers whose Greek Cypriot uncle started making yogurt in a small London workshop in 1949, and now make around five to ten thousand litres of Greek-style yogurt a day.Collete and David Strachan are dairy farmers, but after losing cows (even though none were infected) during BSE and with the price of milk spiralling ever downward, the future of their Suffolk farm was in question. Ten years ago they started to experiment with yogurt-making, and along the way, as Sheila discovers, they have been joined by two of their children James and Katherine- and it's their plain Greek-style yogurt made at Marybelle Dairy that has just won the Supreme Champion award.So what is 'Greek' yogurt?
