We've been talking over the past several sessions, about the priesthood of the believer, Revelation 1:6 says that you are a priest and King unto, your God New Testament. Scripture also says you are a royal priesthood, a holy nation. The only royal priesthood of scripture is the Melchizedek priesthood mentioned in Genesis 14 for the first time. And then again in the book of Hebrews chapters 5 & 7 where Melchizedek, who is the Holy Spirit, the only part of the godhead who has been on the earth from the beginning of the creation and who appeared to Abraham and it is this Melchizedek who is referred to as king of righteousness, king of peace without lineage that is without father or mother priest unto the most high God and priest after an endless life. We are talking about your Melchizedek priesthood in Christ. To go a little deeper into the understanding of who Melchizedek was we turn now to Genesis 14 and we read from verses 17 to 20 as Abraham was returning from the Battle of the Kings and the king of Sodom, went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him at the valley of Shaveh, which is the Kingsdale and Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth Bread and Wine. And he was the priest of the most high God and he blessed him and said, Blessed Be Abram of the most high, God possessor of Heaven, and Earth, and blessed.
