230918PC Only time Mensch Mahler am 18.9.2023 Die Zeit steht still. Only Time. Host Paul Cardall has been a fan of singer songwriter Aaron Espe for more than two decades. The musicians discuss Aaron's unique gift of writing songs that reconnect adults to their childhood. They discuss Aaron's latest album, Up North, which explores his childhood in a small Michigan town where he would eat "Liver and Onions" just to be with his grandfather as well as get a haircut to see his uncle and barber Duane. They talk about his grandmother in a rest home called Sheltering Oaks, which he wrote a song about. Paul asks about being a father today and what Aaron is doing to help re-create a time of innocence for his four sons. They talk about getting the kids off the iPads to explore outside. The two discuss marriage and having wives who support an artist career and mentality. They also briefly talk about Deer Hunting as children, which Aaron wrote a song about. His career has taken him across the U.S. and overseas, playing in coffee shops, bars, churches, and the occasional yoga studio. As solo artist Espe has self-released five solo albums, a Christmas EP, and several singles. In 2012 Nettwerk Records released the EP Through Frozen Forests, which peaked at #7 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart. His 2015 single “Making All Things New” emerged on numerous Spotify playlists, racking up over 21 million streams under the span of a year. It also won the attention of pop icon Taylor Swift on her self-curated playlist Songs Taylor Loves. Produced by Brian F. Joseph (Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens), his first full-length album for Nettwerk, Passages, was released in September of 2017. His followup EP Wonder was released in November of 2019. The single “Anytime I Go” was featured in the Stella Artois 2019 holiday campaign. His latest EP, Rock & Roll Man, will be release in February 2021. Norwegian DJ Kygo recorded “Think About You” (cowritten by Kygo, Petey Martin Valerie Broussard). William Fitzsimmons recorded “What Kind of Love Is Like That” (cowritten by Madi Diaz) after hearing Espe's demo version featured on the CW TV series, iZombie.Among other placements, Espe's recordings have been featured in Grey's Anatomy, Orange Is The New Black, The Fosters, Hulu's The Path and the documentary film Where the Yellowstone Goes, as well as commercials by Sainsbury's, Volkswagen and Toys “R” Us.A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Espe does not like to perform live, but occasionally does songwriter rounds at local venues The Basement and Bluebird Café. Time still will enable us to open our minds and heart and reclaim the power we gave away. Only Time will permit us to embrace our feelings and grow comfortable enough to see and accept our true selves fully. The path leading to self-acceptance is long and takes compassion and patience. Time is gifting you today; learn how to walk with yourself. Time invested will grant you the knowledge of seeing how truly great you are just as you are. You are the most trustworthy source of peace My peace belongs only to me I am free to share my love Today I am building a stronger self I am responsible for my security I assume control and ownership of my feelings I have the power to control reactions I face my needs as they appear I am free from past emotionsI am worthy I am clear about who I am I fit me to my desires I will never compromise my uniquenessI hold my feelings of self very close I am responsible for my actions I confront the worst in me to grow I tolerate discomfort for growthI am worthy of my self-love I know my power to love is braveI am strong enough to be brave I am not afraid to see my fearsYou are your deepest desire; trust in yourself to free those desires to drive your intention. Your will and intent will become your destiny. Lean inward and let yourself be loved by yourself. Know you deserve love, you are worthy of love, you are capable of love; when you don't experience the evidence of being loved, love yourself first, and the world will come to you. This week Official Dietitian Amanda joins Courtney to talk all about Massachusetts stereotypes with guest Nick Barry. This weeks episode is marked explicit because of several mentions of the work "Masshole" and maybe a cuss word or two. Nothing crazy, we promise. We talk all about Massachusetts food and what color their clam chowder is as well as Nick's opinions of the other color clam chowders that were discussed in our Rhode Island episode. Courtney finally gets to ask someone about the need to honk the very first second the light turns green and Amanda worries for Courtney when she tells a Boston man that Dunkin Donuts doesn't even have that great of coffee. We find another type to add to our Oreo project as Nick doesn't quite fit in any of the previous categories but he does agree Jay eats Oreos like a psychopath. Listen to find out all the other cool things we talk about this week. Courtney would also like to note this episode artwork is the ONLY TIME you will see her in Patriots attire.

Als die irische Sängerin Enya "Only Time" im Herbst 2000 veröffentlichte, passierte zuerst kaum etwas. Traurige Berühmtheit erlangte der Song dann fast genau ein Jahr später, als "Only Time" nach den Terror-Anschlägen des 11. September zum weltweiten Hit wurde.

Let me Soothe you 2 Sleep, with a duet I was asked to sing on the melody, “Only Time”, by Enya. It’s such an enchanting melody. This melody is sung by yours truly and the harmony is sung by Allison8182. She also played on the guitar, across the globe. May this song help soothe away your anxieties for the moment. Only Time. Blessings

They reveal the secret ingredient of it all (spoiler: it's time) and whether or not they could make that kind of revenue jump again. Only TIME will tell (it's time... the secret ingredient is time). Before we begin, please take a moment to complete our survey. It would really help us out. Investing is daunting because there are no clear answers to basic questions like, “How much money do I need?” or “Am I on track?” To make matters worse, financial institutions like to exploit our limited knowledge on the subject by making promises that aren't exactly false, but not exactly true. If you've been investing or listening for a while, you know the market has been struggling for years. As a result, we are getting a growing number of emails from investors who are concerned that their lacklustre portfolio growth is the result of either the products in which they are invested or the institutions managing their money. Two weeks ago we talked about when poor performance is the result of bad management. Find that episode here. This week we help you think about what your performance actually means. My tax-free account is up by 17%. However, I started investing in my tax-free account in 2015. Inflation for the period is 21%. I am 4% poorer, even though I have more money. My discretionary investment account paints an even bleaker picture. That account is 5.6% in the red. Since I started that investment in 2013, inflation has been 32.8%. My investments need to gain 38% for me to be back where I started. If I didn't understand the impact of inflation, a 38% growth in my portfolio would seem like payday. As it happens, our friend Stealthy wrote a blog about the effect of compounding, not only on your investments, but also on your costs. Win of the week: Carl Perhaps you're just Starting Out on your Journey, a 21 Year Old with Too Much Bad Debt & a Small Investment Portfolio, receiving a Few Hundred Rand in Dividends every other Month, Thinking, 'this is gonna Take Forever & I'm Never gonna make REAL Money so why bother'. Perhaps you're a Financial Genius and the rest of us are just a 'Cautionary Tale' to you. Perhaps you're a Lowly BlueCollar just like I am... and the Only Time you get to See the Inside of the Boardroom is when you're Cleaning it... and Nobody Ever Asks about your Ideas or Opinions, in Fact, Most don't even know your Name even though it's Printed on your Uniform. For Most of my Life I Thought the Best Plan was to Spend my Last Cash on the Day I Receive my Next PayCheck… As you Grow Older you'll Realise that Time isn't Important, it's EVERYTHING - because of the Compounding Effect. So, are you Going Laduuuuma! - or are you Constantly Scoring Own Goals? How about Setting Small, Incremental, Reasonable, Realistic, Attainable Investment Goals - BabySteps, because your Personal Investment Journey is Probably a Daunting Sight... When I Started Investing ALL I Dreamed about was Receiving my First Dividend... and the Golden Egg was R130 Laid by Country Bird on 21/11/2011- Because everyone Likes Chicken, Right? It was the ONLY Dividend I Received in 2011... but I was Ecstatic with Joy because I Reached my Initial Investment Goal - I Felt like a Millionaire, like I wanted to Buy Drinks for Everyone! Then I Started to Dream about Receiving a Dividend EVERY Month... and 2015 was that Year. Yet Again I Felt Immortal, because I had Reached my Goal. Then I Started to Dream about how Cool it would be to Receive R10K in Dividends in a Single Month...Well, End July 2019 WILL be that Month - and yet another of my 'impossible' Dreams WILL be Realised! - and this Time I WILL be Buying Drinks for Everyone - because Everyone Loves Bubbles, Right? Now I'm Starting to Dream about what I Need to DO in Order to Receive R10K in Dividends EVERY Month, of EVERY Year... I'm Thinking about WHY it Took 9 Years to Reach this Goal. I'm Thinking about HOW to make it Happen Again. I'm Thinking about How to SHORTEN the Period - Perhaps Halve it to 4.5 Years... If you're NOT Dreaming - START! If you ARE Dreaming, NEVER Stop! If you Give Up, the Outcome is Predictable & Guaranteed, so Start Climbing that Mountain Standing between You & F-I-R-E. Khwezi I just turned 35 and came to the realisation that I don't have money to retire on, let alone to leave for my wife and child, in 15 years (as I plan/ planned). Would it be possible to structure my portfolio as follows: 3 Defenders (those that provide cushion/ prevent loses, giving +/- 15-20 year returns) 4 Midfielders (a champions league great mix of conservatives, and aggressors giving returns in about +/- 10-15 years) 3 Strikers giving returns in 5 - 10 years. S'fundo wants to know what homework he should do before investing. He's 22. I recently started my investing journey, and I am looking forward to investing for long term returns (15 - 20 years) so I can take full advantage of compound interest. Which are the most effective due diligence processes to undergo when valuing a company or ETFs to determine if they are worth buying for the longer term? How can someone with no prior knowledge of the markets or finance world learn going through those processes effectively?

This week we had the opportunity to connect with Vanessa Bolin, who is an indigenous artist, community organizer, and activist who has been helping with flood rescue and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Florence in Lumberton, NC, which is in Robeson County. In this interview we talk about what still needs to be done in this area, how to help out, some important parallels between post hurricane relief and anti pipeline organizing, and the importance of foregrounding marginalized voices in mutual aid efforts. . … . .. Our guest mentioned the Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice (IACJ), which has a fundraiser right now that is benefiting the indigenous communities of Robeson County. Here is the donation link via Facebook, or you can go to their website to donate that way. Mutual Aid Disaster Relief is also coordinating a bunch of efforts, you can learn more about this group at mutualaiddisasterrelief.org or look them up on any social media platform. If you have 4-14 days spare and want to get down to Robeson County to help out, especially if you have proficiency in Spanish and skills in logistical coordination, you can send them an email to get networked in at WeKeepUsSafeVC@protonmail.com. There is also a GoFundMe for mutual aid efforts in Asheville, benefitting affected areas in Robeson County. Links to some things our guest mentioned: To learn more about the Indigenous Wisdom Permaculture Model and convergence, just follow the link for information and future convergence dates. To see the Water Protector Arts Facebook page, you can just go to Facebook and search the name of the page. You can follow this link to reach directly out to the Lumbee Tribe if you are intending to do direct support work. To connect with EcoRobeson, the group which is doing anti pipeline work in Robeson County that is mainly affecting already disenfranchised people, you can follow this link. Somethings we'd like to mention: When Vanessa talks about the struggles of the Dine people (who are sometimes known as Navajo) where she mentions uranium mining, this is a huge issue that spans many generations. You can visit Black Mesa Rezistance, which is an organized effort in Black Mountain and Big Mesa (also known as Arizona) on the part of the Dine and Hopi people to defend themselves and their existences. You can learn more about this effort at https://blackmesa.rezist.org/ and follow the links for further material to learn about the history and present day projects and struggles. And finally, for a look into some of the truly amazing legacy of the Lumbee Tribe in so called NC, we at The Final Straw recommend the book To Die Game by William McKee Evans. This book details a resistance movement at a time when Lumbee youth were being targeted for conscription into the Confederate army, and how they along with a diverse coalition of other resistors, eluded capture in the swamps of eastern NC for over 5 years. You can also read about this in the book Dixie Be Damned, along with many other lesser reported moments of resistance in the American Southeast. Announcements for Prisoner Support Jalil Muntaqim Jalil Muntaqim, former member of the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army is facing the parole board in November as his August visit was postponed due to clerical issues. He's going to be getting a lot of pushback from the Policeman's Benevolent Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Corrections Guards associations and the rest of the gallery of reactionary so-called unions for cops. Those groups are on alert, as we've seen with the tug of war around the release of Herman Bell, any time an aging political prisoner, especially one accused of involvement in the killing of a cop, comes up for parole. The parole boards are often made up of former judges, D.A.'s, Prosecutors and law enforcement, forming an added blue wall for prisoners facing parole boards. So, Jalil needs us to write letters of support for his release. Although some of the links are dead from the earlier parole push, you can check this IGD link (see our shownotes at thefinalstrawradio.noblogs.org for the link) for a list of achievements Jalil has since his incarceration. Also, Jalil's birthday is October 18th, so feel free to send him a separate birthday greeting! Also, also, check out our website to hear past episodes featuring interviews with Jalil conducted by buddies at Prison Radio on CKUT in Montreal. To support Jalil, follow these instructions passed on from National Jericho NY: Write a letter in you own words in support of parole for Jalil, address to: Senior Offender Rehabilitation Coordinator Sullivan Correctional Facility 325 Riverside Drive Fallsburg, New York 12733 BUT SEND TO: Nora Carroll The Parole Preparation Project 168 Canal Street, 6th Floor New York, NY 10013 The subject line should be “Anthony Bottom 77-A-4283” We are making an effort to include letters of support for Jalil that are personalized and from people who are familiar with him and his work. If you want further instructions for how to write a strong, personalized letter of support, please email carroll.nora@gmail.com. Also, please send a copy of your letter to Jalil for his files: Anthony Bottom #77A4283, Sullivan Correctional Facility, P.O. Casey Brezik Casey is an anarchist political prisoner who also has a parole hearing coming up, his one and only for his 12 year stint for the stabbing of the president of a university in Missouri. Casey recently got married to a woman being held in another Missouri prison. He's studying calculus so he can go to school to be an aerospace engineer once he's released. He goes before the parole board November 2018. He's unsure of exactly when he gets out, but knows he isn't eligible until November 2020. He's currently saving his money (and asking for help) to afford a cheap vehicle when he gets out in order to transport himself to work and school. His intentions are to parole out to the St. Louis area and attending a community college until he gets his basic credits and can transfer to a university. His eyes are set on the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Casey suffers from depression and has a history of schizophrenia. he describes himself as socially awkward and says he often feels misunderstood. He has a kind heart and he looks forward to getting out relatively soon and getting to see all of those who have shown him support over the years. He thanks you all. Casey was recently transferred to the Farmington Correctional Center in Farmington, Missouri. In November, he will go before the parole board for the first and ONLY TIME and he needs your help! Thoughtful and professional letters to the parole board by people who care about Casey and are willing to offer support to him during his transition back to life outside of prison can make it more likely that Casey will be released. *Even though the letter should be addressed to the parole board, all letters should be sent directly to Casey and he will deliver them to the parole board: Casey Brezik #1154765 Farmington Correctional Center 1012 West Columbia Street Farmington, MO 63640 More on Casey at https://supportcasey.org/ . … . .. Sean Swain Anarchist prisoner Sean Swain is still being silenced by the state of Ohio and could use your letters. He's potentially in the process of being transferred in an inter-state deal which will make his life way harder. Sean has communicated that he was at one point on hunger strike and is extremely isolated. You can write to Sean at : Sean Swain #243-205 Warren CI P.O. Box 120 Lebanon, Ohio 45036 It's suggested that concerned listeners call ODRC Director Stuart Hudson (614) 387-0588 Governor's Counsel Kevin O'Donell Stanek (614) 466-3555 Callers should voice concern over Sean's health, access to communication and the blocking of counsel from his recent RIB hearing that threatens to transfer him out of Ohio. More info on his case can be found at seanswain.noblogs.org . … . .. NC Prisoners repressed from #PrisonStrike On IGD you can read the list of demands specific to NC prisoners that Joseph Stewart wrote back in July. He was transferred after the outside published his statement in support of the strike and has intermittently been left off of prisoner support call-ups so he can surely use some supporting letters at Polk CI where he is currently housed. You can write Joseph at : Joseph D. Stewart #0802041 Polk CI Box 2500 Butner, NC 27509 Three other prisoners in NC, are held within the Hyde Correctional Institution, a facility in Fairfield, NC, are being threatened with retaliation for their active support and organizing in solidarity with the national #PrisonStrike. Box 278 Swan Quarter, NC 27885 . … . .. The Vaughn17 From a statement by the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement (RAM) and Vaughn17 Support in Philly: On Feb. 1, 2017, after a series of peaceful protests yielded no results, incarcerated comrades took over a building at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Delaware to demand slight improvements in their treatment. After a 20-hour stand-off, the prison's response was to literally bulldoze their barricades and figuratively bulldoze their demands, retaliating with constant beatings, destruction of prisoner property, and denial of food and medical care. Furthermore, the state has accused 17 of the incarcerated with egregious offenses even though these charges have no basis in reality. The state's response shows once again that any prisoners standing up for themselves, to regain dignity and achieve decent treatment, is a threat. And the state will collectively punish everyone and anyone to hide its barbarism. The only role of prison guards, wardens and the Department of Corrections (DOC) is the perpetuation of slavery and subjugation. There is a call for court support for the 17, who will be attending trail in small groups, at New Castle County Courthouse, 500 N. King St., Wilmington, DE 19801. The first trial starts on Monday, October 8th and the last is slated for February 11th, 2019. People in the area interested in helping volunteer for court support can learn more by reading this IGD article. A pdf of a poster with addresses, pictures and info on the 17 prisoners pulled into this case can be found here . … . .. Show playlist here.

The brothers learn this week that every journey must come to an end. They don't know how to make that happen exactly though, and they are extremely open to suggestions. This season finale has it all. Brothers! Items! Sounds! Thanks to everyone who listens for a "successful" second season. We mean it. Items this week: the book of grudges, and the restful pillow. Season 2 Kicks off with a thematically appropriate choice: FernGully 2. And let me tell you the One Year Anniversary of watching FernGully for a podcast is the ONLY time when it is appropriate to watch FernGully 2. THE ONLY TIME. What even is there to say about this one? Lenny continues his trend of chucking DVD's against other things, Seth professes his love for BluRay, and Sagan ends the episode with a killer joke. I mean it is just the best sign off joke I have ever heard. You get what you pay for... We review FernGully 2. Direct Download
Channing Taylor is a cop from the future who's out to prove that policing is a people’s job and not a computer’s. So he goes back in time to convince his Grandpa (Bill Maher) that Adam Ant's evil plot to cure all diseases has to be stopped, and the only way to do it is to break every time travel rule and irreparably ruin the future. But Bill Maher is determined to make policing a computer’s job and not a people's. Can Channing and Grandpa see eye to eye? Can you wrap a man in fruit loops? Can you cut to every single shot in a feature length pilot with the sound of a broken jack-in-the-box? Only TIME will tell. This Week we take a look at the CES show, is there more to life than super thin tv's and more tablets you can shake a stick at? Also would you pay thousands of dollars to have a piece of your favorite celebrity? And what will things look like in 100 years, will we be able to talk with our brains while riding a space elevator? Only Time will tell, so sit back relax, pop a pizza in the hydrator and set the auto pilot of your flying car for awesome. Thanks all who listen and keep us going, remember to email us with questions or comments at indeedpodcast [at] gmail [dot] com or find us on Facebook, iTunes, and VTWproductions
I wanted to make reference to the last post where I mentioned that the Rui Da Silva track "Touch Me" did not have a mastered version available. I stand corrected. When you go to Beatport, you'll find two different versions. One is a "dirty version" and the other is a "clean version". Apparently, that's their way of telling you one is a vinyl rip and the other a mastered mix. The only difference between the two (besides sound quality) is that the mastered version makes the percussion more prominent in the mix, whereas in the vinyl version it's more subdued. I guess this is a ploy to get you to buy both, and it worked. So, if anyone wants to take 3 with the "mastered" version of the song, let me know and I'll replace it in my Podbean account. For whatever reason, I was able to get fourteen tracks in this mix and still keep it under the 80-minute mark. I did a lot of editing, but nothing detracts from the originals of these songs. I made one exception with Aubrey. Why? Because it's considered by many to be one of Hex's masterpieces. Frankly, I think there are so many, it's difficult to name just one. Nevertheless, to edit this down might be considered blasphemy by many of you, so I kept it intact. Certainly, it is the anthem of anthems with its peaks and valleys and very memorable by those shaking it in the club at the time. That being said, there are a ton of memorable classics in this mix. Deborah Cox's ode to feminism "Absolutely Not", Madonna's "Don't Tell Me" of which the gargantuan Thunderpuss mix needed a little taming and the biggest song of the year by Sono "Keep Control" which remained number one on the club charts for an astounding four weeks. As a companion to the previous 80s throwback from 1999 by Yaz (Situation '99) we also got an updated late eighties classic by Book of Love "Boy". Once again, Peter Rauhofer (a.k.a. Club 69) did the honors and respectfully gave this awesome tune a much deserved millennium makeover. While everything here has a purpose and was hot at the time of its release two of the songs require some additional explanation. First, Kylie's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" which was an international smash and brought her back to the U.S. charts for the first time since the 1988 hit "Locomotion". Unlike Pink's "Get the Party Started" her label did commission mixes for the single but they fell flat. Nothing really stood out as far as the official remixes were concerned. Instead, I went with the unauthorized remix by Mike Rizzo, which is probably the first remix he did that brought him some worldwide attention. There were also Junior Vasquez and Eddie Baez remixes, but they didn't quite muster up the goods. In fact, this probably would have never charted at all if it weren't for Mike's remix. can be your hero baby I can kiss away the pain I will stand by you forever You can take my breath away The other song I wanted to mention was the abominable "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias. Let's face it, the song would have gone nowhere without 9/11. It was petering in the 20s on Billboards singles chart before the event. Suddenly Enrique goes on to save the world and protect us from the axis of evil as people clung to the track and began requesting it. Sad but true, because the vocals on this are painfully atrocious. Nevertheless, Enrique always had his pulse on the dance scene and knew exactly who was hot at the moment, hence the Thunderpuss remix which launched it to the number one slot on the club charts. Actually there were several songs that benefited from the September tragedy; namely the uplifting and fantastic "New York" by Ryan Adams, Five For Fighting's "Superman Song" which Rick always referred to as the "Kermit Song" and the beautiful "Only Time" by Enya which was used ad nausea in CNN's best wishes holiday commercial. Frankly, I never got sick of that song and it still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I hear it. Heck,
