Crescent label head Labyrinthine joins us for this session direct from Tokyos iconic 'Womb'. Recorded live on November 29th 2024 as part of FORCE - Paradigma Records' showcase. Born in Poland and based in London, this DJ/producer is also the co-owner of Crescent London - a label synonymous with deep, hypnotic techno. Deeply ingrained in the London electronic music scene and beyond, his DJ sets are immersive sonic journeys, weaving energy, depth, and contrast between darkness and light. A key figure in the UK underground, he has been a driving force in the scene, regularly hosting events across London, as well as in Berlin and Manchester. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ DAHRAXT DAHRAXT is the techno project of the electronic music artist Alessandro Mannella ( formerly known as Mannella ). Italian-born and Berlin-adopted, he expresses his multi-faceted talent producing music, DJing and performing live. Apart from being heavily influenced by the UK techno sound, DAHRAXT's musical narratives oscillate between industrial techno and distorted electro soundscapes, all the way to the more mental techno textures. Moving at a young age to Ibiza, he crafted his DJ mixing skills performing regularly at important venues like Space and throwing illegal parties around the island. Not long after, he moved to Berlin and immediately caught the attention of many, playing at the iconic Tresor basement and shaking the dancefloors of other major clubs such as About Blank, Arena and Suicide Circus, as well as hosting events at the former Griessmühle. Eventually, as one of the founders of the multidisciplinary event project ENIGMA, he brought a brand-new event concept at Tresor Club. Besides Germany, DAHRAXT has made appearances at other influential venues across Europe such as Gare (Porto) and FOLD (London) among others. Touring overseas and taking part in the underground festival circuit, DAHRAXT has performed with the likes of Ancient Methods, Ben Klock, Detroit Techno Militia, Nene H, New Frames, Tommy Four Seven, Scan7, Sunil Sharpe and many more. His unmatched dexterity in bringing the crowd into his own visionary trip and the intensity of his DJ sets allowed him to also gain a residency at the techno party Vocoder in Mexico City (2018) and most recently at ARIA, London. As part of events in places like About Blank, Distillery, IFZ, Die Rakete, as well as international clubs like the Meet Compact Club in Italy or the Grellen Forelle in Vienna, he continued to make his way and began to assert himself against the old-established techno artists. ona:v is a Polish-born DJ, producer and promoter with an ear for textural techno and dark electro. A scientist by day and a DJ by night, the Edinburgh-based artist is an integral figure in her locale, both as a standalone name and through event curation. Having built an extensive track collection for several years, ona:v debuted on Edinburgh's club circuit in 2019, with bookings across the UK making up her diary since. On home turf, ona:v plays regular gigs in Scotland's biggest venues, having supported Ben Klock, Isabel Soto, Clouds, Paige, EKATA and many others. Outside of Scotland, she closed for Clouds and Randomer at The Cause, played at London's Risen Festival and in Berlin's Mensch-Meier and About Blank. 2022 saw her Polish debut, and in 2021/22 she streamed from Berlin's HÖR Radio. More recently, for two years in a row, she headlined the basement stage curated by Sisu at Hidden Door — a prolific visual art and music festival in Edinburgh, and performed at Scotland's biggest festival – Terminal V. In 2020, ona:v founded EPiKA, and started promoting EPiKA's bi-monthly party called CiRCLE in Edinburgh. Here, she creates a nurturing environment for beginner female and non-binary DJs playing more underground flavours of electronics, with focus on techno. She also garners a radio residency on London's Threads Radio and is an internal member and a resident DJ with the Sisu crew. Production-wise, she has released tracks on multiple UK compilations and released her debut EP, Response to the Techno Crisis, on Diffuse Reality in 2022. Dutchman Kennedy (@kennedyams) is a mainstay of Amsterdam's underground. He's worked in record shops, hosted radio shows, thrown his own parties and played the city's best venues as well as further afield at places like About Blank, Tresor and Griessmuehle in Berlin. In the studio, he aims to translate his dreams into music using an array of machines. His grooves dance in the middle ground between soul, techno, house and jazz, with nods to the atmospheres of Detroit and the rhythms of Africa. He serves them up on his own Dream Machine Recordings and most recently collaborated with Amsterdam jazz veteran Han Litz on his latest 12". It brought a fresh dimension to his always cultured music and with this week's mix, he proves that as a DJ he is no less considered in what he does. It is a selection of serene hi-tech soul powered by dynamic drums and overlaid with lush chord work. There is plenty of rough-edged analog jack, wonky acid and deep and dusty techno in the first half before a party breaks out with loved-up disco. A slow descent into more dark and trippy sound worlds closes down a mix that has the haziness of a half-remembered dream you wish you could return to.

Our first premiere of the week comes from one of the most exciting names in techno right now, Chontane. The German native debut's on SHDW & Obscure Shape's Mutual Rytm imprint and we have the please of premiering ‘After Images' which show's Chontane flexing a soulful and emotive side to his production, while still holding onto his banging and shuffling repertoire. Chontane has been immersing himself in techno for many years, experimenting with various styles and niches, and evolving his eclectic palette for high energy electronic music. Growing up in Berlin Chontane found himself obsessed with techno's underground subculture, the young DJ started playing regularly at the early age of nineteen kicking things off with a residency at the Krach nights in Humboldthain and then playing some of the cities most revered clubs, including: Tresor, :// About Blank and OHM. With his first record release in 2018 still receiving praise and support, Chontane has wasted no time in reaffirming his capabilities. With another successful collaborative release on Magic Power with WERK co-founder J.Manuel and a 4 track EP on the Special Projects sub-label of Radio Slave's Rekids imprint. The young producer is constantly blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro in the capital; breaking down some of the perceived barriers that were once there. Today we premiere a track from Chontane's debut on the coveted imprint Mutual Rytm which is at the helm of SHDW & Obscure Shape. We premiere the track After Images which show's Chontane at his particularly familiar blistering pace, and an assortment of driving mutated synth lines. The track show's an emotional side to Chontane's work, yet it still offers a slice of peak-time warehouse raving to an otherwise euphoric tool. Chontane balances pounding and smouldering grooves with hazy melodies and soulful vocals to great effect. The first premiere of the day comes from one of our favourite techno artists right now, Berlin based Chontane. Having previously released on ARTS, Voltage, Rekids & more, the youngster now arrives on Lobster Theremin with a 4 track EP that blurs the lines between techno, electro and breaks. We premiere ‘Art Of Survival', a thundering high octane 90's inspired techno tool. Chontane has been immersing himself in techno for many years, experimenting with various styles and niches, and evolving his eclectic palette for high energy electronic music. Growing up in Berlin Chontane found himself obsessed with techno's underground subculture, the young DJ started playing regularly at the early age of nineteen kicking things off with a residency at the Krach nights in Humboldthain and then playing some of the cities most revered clubs, including: Tresor, :// About Blank and OHM. With his first record release in 2018 still receiving praise and support, Chontane has wasted no time in reaffirming his capabilities. With another successful collaborative release on Magic Power with WERK co-founder J.Manuel and a 4 track EP on the Special Projects sub-label of Radio Slave's Rekids imprint. The young producer is constantly blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro in the capital; breaking down some of the perceived barriers that were once there. Now Chontane brings his colourful and energetic brand of blurred techno to Lobster Theremin's White series with four hedonistic and mind-altering weapons. Chontane goes hard on the final track Art Of Survival as he focusses on jarring breakbeat grooves and growling low end power. The star of the show is the gleaming lead that has just a touch of French house flair. This is sure to tear up any dance-floor it touches. Welcome to DRR Podcast 088, for our second episode of the week we welcome Miro Lopasso, a Swiss native now based in Berlin, Germany. Born in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Miro Lopasso had his first music experience with turntables in a local record store as a teenager, before relocating to Berlin to experience its hedonism and its electronic music scene. There, he started Djing at clubs such as Sisyphos and Suicide Circus, eventually settling into the Berlin techno scene. He connected with the prestigious Berghain club's community and worked there as a stage technician for seven years, forging links and friendships within this techno phenomenon. Active as a DJ in established Berlin clubs like Tresor, About Blank or Schwuz, he was shaping his ongoing desire to carefully craft blended outputs of industrial soundscapes, percussive drums and acid inspirations. His debut track, ‘Beneath', was released on Dutch label Mord's first compilation Herdersmat (Part 1-7) in 2015. After a creative hiatus, he came back to his roots with a debut EP Ass It! in 2020 on Creaked, to be followed by The Encounter from Galactic Outposts in 2022. Continuing on his production journey, Miro Lopasso founded his own label, LPS, which has released his three latest EPs: Modified Humans, Nediar and Remote Controlled. Electronic music specialist Andrea Cichecki is an artist inspired by sound. Born in the Netherlands with Polish roots, Andrea has had a lifelong fascination with emotion, human connection and how these intertwine with music and sound. Her atmospheric music can be described as a dreamful sound collage, lifting us away into a flow of emotions. The musical intent is built on a landscape that sweeps from intense joy to melancholic emotion, a cinematic journey of life and memories. Andrea's main inspiration is the inner peace found through connection with nature. For over two decades, Andrea performs as a DJ across Europe. For seven years, she lived in Berlin where she was integral to the electronic music scene and a regular DJ playing in renowned clubs such as Club der Visionaere, Hoppetosse, Tresor and About Blank. After successful releases of her own music, she knew it was time to follow her dreams. Achieving a diploma for her studies in ‘Music Production & Sound Engineering' at the Abbey Road Institute helped her enrich her sound, expand her creative mind and build on her professionalism. Madalba was born in July 1985 in Bari, south of Italy. From a very young age, her musical interests moved across a broad spectrum, going from house and dance music to rock and punk leading her lastly to techno and club-culture. At age 22 she approached the local scene as Djane with numerous performances in the club circuit of Bari. Through the years she has developed a continued and careful respect of the musical experience. She moved to Berlin in 2011 and started DJing with only vinyl records. This helped her to build a strong reputation as an underground techno DJ, providing opportunity for her to play in clubs such as Tresor, About Blank, SchwuZ, SO36 and Mikz in Berlin where she lives today. In September 2011, she moved to Detroit where she started the collaboration with DJ Seoul, Tom and Angie Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed her approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a political and social phenomenon and a lifestyle than just a musical genre. From 2012 till 2016 she joined the party Homopatik as resident dj. Her first releases on vinyl came out in 2014 on DTM-Label (Detroit) and Arkita Records (Berlin), the label that she spawned together with Synkopheit till 2016. In 2017 she launched her own record label Future Déjà Vu releasing 5 EP respectively by Transient X4, Ken Karter, Mannella a.k.a. DHARAXT, Phontonz & Shcuro, Rage Therapy. In September 2017 she played her first house set for the summer closing of the Berlin based party Buttons. In Summer 2018 Madalba became resident dj at the historical club Tresor in Berlin. The same year she collaborated with the London based crew Aria with a party series in the UK capital. Currently, she is techno resident dj and co-organizer of the party Buttons in About Blank teaming with Danilo Rosato, Anna Bolena, Jabob Meehan, Shingo Suwa, Akirahawks, Paolo Di Nola and Stanley Schmidt. After the enormous success of One Day / Reckoning Song back in 2012, German DJ and producer Wankelmut decided to keep his newly successful career in pop-house music in his native Berli, the world capital of techno: “When I started going out and discovering all these genres, I was into techno for a brief amount of time,” Wankelmut, the alias of Jacob Dilßner, says. “It doesn’t have enough diversity for my taste. I like vocals, I like melodies, some grooves. So I stuck with house music. But Berlin is definitely the techno city! We have Berghain, About Blank, all these famous clubs that play banging techno. But for me, it’s all about grooves and melodies.”

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series! On this edition, we welcome schNee It all started with a mixtape! In the 80’s schNee was born in the suburbs of Berlin, and as a young girl she moved through this vibrant city exploring different music styles through concerts - as she got older she started finding herself in the Berlin clubs; dancing, feeling, enjoying, and opening up to the electronic music. It turns out that a simple mixtape was to be the beginning of an adventurous career for the young schNee. After making a mixtape, for her car, of all her favorite electronic tracks - a sudden realization hit her - her passion in life was to become a DJ and learn the ways of music. She promptly bought turntables, a mixer, and started her vinyl collection. Thus, a DJ was born. schNee is all about the musical experience and that is evident through her sound. Her mixes are full of emotional range, with deep melodies and lots of bass to the upbeat ‘feel the sun on your face’ beats - she truly wants you to feel and be enveloped in the music like she herself is. She oozes of diversity, playing anything from house to techno. In particularly she draws inspiration from the likes of James Holden, Nathan Fake, Max Cooper, Extrawelt, Nicolas Jaar, and Stimming - just to mention a few. schNee has been on a roll ever since her first gig in Hamburg in early 2013. Following some releases and remixes on ‘Der Turnbeutel’ and ‘Triebjagd’ she has been rocking the floors at some of Berlin’s hottest clubs. Sisyphos, MenschMeier, About Blank, Ritter Butzke, Keller, and Rummelsbucht have all welcomed her to the DJ stand, from which she has filled the floor with marvelous tunes. Most notably, at Crack Bellmer where she has hosted her own club night. Her has spread music even further, as she has been playing gigs all over Europe, including Switzerland and The Netherlands. Her music is not only limited to the club - as she has also played at several festivals like; Captainsrave, Monis Rache, Zug der Liebe, Zurück zu den Wurzeln, Chateau Melon d’Eau, and Dockville. When she isn’t busy filling the world’s dance floors with remarkable tunes, she is hanging out with her space buddies and astronauts at the Cosmic Society label, where she is currently signed. From Turin to Rome then Berlin, from Drum and bass to Dubstep then Ambient, Dub techno and other musical nuances, this is the background of @saveyouratollofficial (Antonello Meloni) through the years. In the middle, the ring that united everything, the island of Sardinia. In 2012 he creates with other friends the Roman collective then moved to Berlin, called "Spacedrome". With this project the first works released on different independent labels (Abyssal audio, Elastica records, Modulate rec., YinYang, Whoyostro, Deep Electronics,Lounge Squatt,Truth or consequence, O’clock rec etc.) are realized. Also in that year he won the contest "unsigned contest" for Knowledge Magazine UK with the song "Mimetic Wormhall". The following year, with Spacedrome, he took part in the Croatian "Outlook festival". He also performs in many clubs in the capital and in other Italian cities as well as some adventure in Europe. After moving to Berlin the collective has been able to perform in different contexts, from Berlin clubs (Hoppettosse, Acud macht neu, Mensch meyer,About Blank,Void etc.) to festivals (Freqs of nature,Pik nick electronik etc.). But you know, artistic paths can lead to changes in perspective and the Spacedrome project was temporarily put aside. From this break Save Your Atoll was born. Kill Ref is the best known moniker of Alessandro Signore, a long standing italian dj & producer active since 1993 circa, founder of KR/LF Records. In 90s he started appearing at Giona and Movida club's consoles. In 2000s he definitely moved to Rome playing as resident at infamous Brancaleone, then got residency Glucose at Init alongside other friends Korova, Giulio Maresca, VSK, Conrad Van Orton and Ap Lisi, then Ribbon Club in Terracina rising with his new side duo project Kill Traxx with Gigi Galli since 2009. In 2015 took part of Overlake Festival playing alogside Jeff Mills. He will be in fact playing abroad at some high rated european clubs: in Berlin at Tresor and About Blank, where is regularly guested at Homopatik party for a marathon set; in London at Corsica Studios and The Egg; at Liquid Club in Malta. He has remixed the popular "On & On" by Rush, "Fatmah" by the famous italian dub band Almamegretta and "Sai dire addio..." by the italian author and songwriter maestro Franco Battiato. He has founded his own label KR/LF Records (acronym of"Kill Ref Low Frequencies") since 2015 featuring artists such as Endlec, Binny, X501 aka Raffaele Attanasio, Coefficient, Gotshell, Oliver Rosemann, Ben Gibson, Oliver Deutschmann, David Meiser, Progression, Jokasti and Nek. Robin Schellenberg made his first steps into music when he was 16. He bought some turntables and a mixer, the program Reason and the first version of Ableton. 2004 Robin moved from Frankfurt am Main to Berlin and started to discover the electronic music scene more and more. In his early Berlin time, Robin was running a recording studio in Kreuzberg, played in some underground bands and started some of his first electronic projects called Wijnstijn, Peinlich Unter Freunden and Geffen3 just to name a few. After concentrating many years in creating cultural spaces he released a Remix under one of his old aliases „Bonze & Krösus“ on Acker Records in 2015. Schellenberg also played several gigs in clubs like About Blank, Sisyphos, Wilde Renate and festivals like Fusion at Bachstelzen stage in 2011. After some time off, Schellenberg came back to making music in 2017, when he became part of the Riverside Studios in Berlin along Tobi Neumann, Martin Eyerer, Gheist, Pan-Pot and some more. Now he is running a studio there with his friends Daniele Di Martino & Gottlieb Scheppert. In the beginning of 2018 Robin co-founded the record label „Kamai“ with his fellows Jacob Groening, Zigan Aldi, Bonfante & Robert Helms (Umami). His first track „Elnath“ will be released under his real name “Robin Schellenberg” and got already signed by Mono.Noise. It's a lot of music and this is after cutting half of it. I really wanted to take the time to max a full DJ mix out of this but I opted instead to just get the music out to you. Cristian Marras is an exciting DJ/Producer, based in Berlin who has slowly been working his way through clubs in Berlin, Italy, Spain and Holland. He plays solid driving contemporary Techno, creating raw, fast changing atmospheres, mixing together multiple layers, swinging from a instrumental hypnotic sound to hard grooving, acid drops ending often to industrial direction. Showing good knowledge of the genre for someone so new in the scene, Cristian discovered his passion for electronic music during the last years of high school in east coast of USA where he started to interest himself to the first and second generation of Detroit Electronic Producers. Once back in Italy Cristian started to hang out around some of the most well known Italian clubs that were hosting techno events getting in contact with artists and promoters and he started to host events himself in his home town in Sardegna bringing local artist and promoting electronic music. Since the last 5 years C.M dedicated himself to improve his knowledge studying electronic music production and sound design collaborating with other musicians and attending Dbs music university in Berlin. Matteo Brigatti, aka GANDALF, is one of the founders and resident djs of GENAU, one of the leading techno nights in Northern Italy. After years spent as clubber and amateur dj in the late ’90 and early ‘2000s and truly inspired by Turin underground scene, in 2003 he had the first opportunity to play in public at Docks Home club. After that he started playing in a large number of Turin’s clubs, exploring different styles in his dj sets (electro, prog-house, Chicago house, Detroit techno and minimal). In 2006 he had his first residency in the former night “Mood” every friday at Club Gamma, one of the most important club of the city, playing side by side with some of the most influential international djs, from Jerome Sydenham to Len Faki, from Solomun to Chris Carrier. He’s now resident dj and part of the art direction of the most important city festivals such as Movement Torino and Kappa Futur Festival and he’s been booked as guest in many parties (Dude, Il Suono, Glucose…), and festival around Italy (Nature Beat in Rome, Aurora Festival in Lecce, Forevergreen in Genova and Milan, Bardonite…). In March 2013 he also had the opportunity to play in the most important French techno party, Concrete, and in early 2015 he had his first gig in Berlin at Griessmuhle, followed by an appearance at Karnival Der Kulturen Kreuzberg. In Summer 2015 he as been booked for the "Numa" party in Tokyo, Japan, and in October 2015 he was guest of the infamous "Staub" party in Berlin before returning at About Blank for the "Away meets Genau" party in 2016 and at Kosmonaut in 2017. In April 2017 he returned in Japan where he performed at Dommune and at Unit in Tokyo. After more than ten years spinning music, he decided that now it’s time to start producing his own techno tracks. His first releases have been published between 2013 and 2014 by the french dub techno label Gravite and today he’s committed to produce music on the forecoming Genau Recordings label. His style is made of a mixture of energetic and traveling tracks, deconstructed and re-constructed through the aid of digital technologies (he was one of the first Italian djs to realize the potential of digital djing) and he is well known as a dj that can really understand and become sympathetic with the dancefloor in front of him. Today he’s recognized as one of the most important promoter of techno sounds in Italy both as artist and as event organizer. From a very young age, her interest in different musical cultures such as house and dance music and also spread through rock and punk which eventually lead to techno and club-culture. At age 22 she approached the local scene as Djane with numerous performances in the club circuit of Bari. Through the years she has developed a continued and careful respect of the musical experience. She moved to Berlin and started DJing with only vinyl records. This helped build her strong reputation as an underground techno DJ. This provided opportunity for her to play in clubs such as Tresor, About Blank, Mikz and Tacheles in Berlin where she lives today. In September 2011, she moved to Detroit where she rocked some of the scenes most well known clubs like as The Works, Exodus and several others across the state in collaboration with DJ Seoul and Tom Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed is approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a social phenomenon and a lifestyle rather than just a musical genre. In December 2011 she collaborated with the female crew Femme Fraktale. Since January 2012 she is resident of the party Homopatik in About Blank, Berlin. In May 2013 she joined the roster of Bang Tech 12 and was soon asked to join Detroit Techno Militia in April of 2014. Het first release will be available on vinyl, as of September 2014, on Arkita Rec (Berlin), the label that spawned in collaboration with Synkopheit. He quickly became one of the main djs in the most important clubs of this area : ones such as Giona, Zen e Dinamik Area. Among the mid 90s and the average 2000s has became the key player in the meaningful techno club scene in Rome : in clubs such as Brancaleone, Lanificio, Rashomon. Then at Init e at Traffic club working alongside Korova in their Glucose season. Now, since 2011 he's resident dj of "Rehab & Belli Freski" promotion at Ribbon Club Culture in Terracina (LT) and at their other open-air events such The Beach Invasion e Blast Festival in 15th August. He's currently and often being guested at Homopatik party at About Blank in Berlin. He previously also played at Sub Opera 36 and at Suicide Circus, still in Berlin. In London at The Egg, at Corsica Studios e at Raise End rave. At Liquid Club in Malta. In Rotterdam at Kruiskade 3. He played alongside djs such : Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Dave Clarke, The Advent, Joseph Capriati, Joey Beltram, Redshape, The Hacker e altri. Many of them played his tracks: one of the most supported has been "Dustlust" on Labrynth Records, 2011.
