The rapid surge in energy demand from AI data centers and advanced manufacturing is pushing the American power grid to its limit, sparking a high-stakes race to secure the nation's electrical future. This pressure on the grid is also impacting Americans, who have seen their energy bills increase significantly. Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy, joins to discuss the necessity of an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy to maintain dispatchable power, how to keep energy bills down, and what must be done to ensure the United States outpaces China in the global competition for AI dominance. Plus, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz joins to discuss his mission to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse related to Medicaid. PHOTO CREIDT: AP PHOTO Learn more about your ad choices. After the killings of two American citizens in Minneapolis and the firing of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, the Trump administration's immigration enforcement operation is attempting a bit of a reset. From calling ICE agents “NICE” agents on social media to reducing visible presence on the streets, it's clear new Secretary Markwayne Mullin wants federal agents out of the spotlight. But are the goals of President Donald Trump's mass deportation push any different? Plus, we hear from someone caught in the middle of the administration's crackdown on legal immigration. Jon Harris examines the state of the American church in 2026 — a time of spiritual interest among Gen Z, rising Bible sales, and public figures talking about Christianity, yet mixed with confusion, pastoral failures, and the risk of counterfeit revival. Drawing from statistics, personal reflections, and Scripture, Jon calls Christians to stand faithfully with the true church, prioritize the gospel, and focus on making disciples rather than platforms or politics. Dahlia Lithwick reviews what has been an “exceptionally bad week” for American democracy. Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade explains why the charges against former FBI director James Comey, rooted in the claim that he threatened to kill President Trump – via the medium of seashells on Instagram – are unlikely to stick, no matter how hard Trump's Acting (and actively auditioning) Attorney General Todd Blanche tries. A deleted insta post from a beach in North Carolina is just not going to meet the Supreme Court's true-threat standard as laid out in Counterman v Colorado. But actually, landing a conviction is not the point, McQuade says –– Blanche has learned from Trump's longstanding legal playbook that he can always win by losing. And that's why she is also closely watching the DOJ's indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center under a dubious fraud theory, warning that Blanche is both more skilled and more ruthless in using prosecutions for political ends, with few accountability mechanisms beyond potential disbarment. McQuade's new book, The Fix: Saving America from the Corruption of a Mob-Style Government is available for pre-order now. Next, Dahlia discusses this week's devastating SCOTUS decision in Louisiana v Callais with Madiba Dennie who explains how Justice Alito and the 6-3 Republican supermajority set about hollowing out Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, inviting states to redraw maps and entrench racial disenfranchisement, all under the cover of historically distorted “originalism.”Want more Amicus? Nico Young joins Jonathan Gault for a deep dive into his 2026 season outlook. The adidas-sponsored distance star reflects on a heartbreaking US indoor final where he missed the world team by a hundredth of a second, and reveals he's added a third workout per week to his training. Young announces a loaded European Diamond League slate, a 1500 in Stockholm, back-to-back 5Ks in Oslo and Paris, before making his road debut at the Peachtree Road Race on July 4th, where he'll try to become the first American winner (outside of years it served as the US Championships) since Ed Eyestone in 1991. He says he views the Ultimate World Championships like a major global championship and plans to peak for it, and considers himself the American outdoor 5K record holder at 12:45.
This week, the boys spin kick their way into the wild world of Count Dante, a Chicago karate instructor who built his legend on claims of the “Death Touch” and a reputation as the "Deadliest Man" who ever lived. Through outrageous comic book ads and his own "Fighting Society", Dante sold a vision of lethal mastery that blurred the line between myth and reality... But what started as martial arts fantasy quickly spiraled into real-world violence, ending in one of the most infamous real-life dojo showdowns in American history. Just after Donald Trump's first term began, he announced that he was considering eliminating the Federal Emergency Management Agency — the agency that helps Americans amid unthinkable disasters. And just a month ago, Trump repeated his disdain for FEMA, declaring that he's poised to make some big changes. On this week's On the Media, we present the first installment in a four-part series called American Emergency: The Movement to Kill FEMA. In this episode, OTM co-host Micah Loewinger tells the origin story of FEMA — which initially focused less on disaster relief and more on plans to save the government from nuclear attack. The agency's secrecy inspired wild conspiracy theories and paranoia among far-right groups, including the fear that FEMA is building camps to detain citizens and stifle political dissent. The episode culminates with a never-before-told story of a plot to stalk FEMA's top brass in the nineties. Welcome to another episode of Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, joined by co-host Drew. In this lively and in-depth discussion, Tom Bilyeu and Drew tackle some of the most pressing economic and political issues making headlines today. From the unprecedented U.S. debt levels now exceeding the nation's GDP, to the extension of FISA 702 and ongoing government surveillance, they unpack what these developments mean for the average American. The episode also explores China's controversial move to ban companies from replacing workers with AI purely for cost-cutting, the complex rise of populist movements at home and abroad, and whether financial repression is America's only path forward. Tom Bilyeu and Drew dig into why housing costs are falling in cities like Dallas, how deregulation is reshaping the market, and what we can learn from China's demographic time bomb. The show doesn't shy away from controversy, diving into the indictment threats against Fauci, the “billionaire tax” debate, and a wild viral story about corporate misconduct. As always, there's a balance of critical analysis, spirited debate, and a call for solutions over outrage. Today we are asking for your help from the drunkest county in America to keep this project going. Did you all know that the Recovery Elevator podcast is recorded and broadcasted to the world from the drunkest county in America? That would be Gallatin County, where I am sitting right now. https://www.givebiggv.org/organizations/cafe-re-inc That's right. According to a recent CDC study, 26.8% of people who live in Gallatin County drink excessively, making it the drunkest county in the U.S. When I first started the Recovery Elevator podcast in 2015, almost all of the top five drunkest counties in America were in Wisconsin. So step aside, Wisconsinites, because we've got the crown now. And it's more like a crown of thorns. I find it ironic — eerily coincidental — that one of the top sobriety podcasts that focuses on alcohol is broadcast to you from the drunkest county. And did you know there are 3,244 counties in America? If you're tuning in from the drunkest county in America, or really anywhere in the world, we've got your back, and you're not alone. I'm going to switch gears slightly. Recovery Elevator has a nonprofit called Café RE, and do you know how many times I've asked for donations on this podcast? That would be zero. Well, maybe the second or third time, but I rarely ask. In the drunkest county in America, there's an incredible event taking place today called Give Big, which is geared towards raising money for all the nonprofits in this county. We need your help to balance the scales in the drunkest county in America, and all your donations are fee-free if you donate today. There's a link in the show notes to make a donation — thank you, Robyn. You can also Google "Gallatin Valley Give Big" and search for Café RE. https://www.givebiggv.org/organizations/cafe-re-inc And if you're in the Bozeman area, Recovery Elevator is doing a live podcast recording today at 1 pm at 2000 N. 7th Street in Bozeman, at a place called Recovery Point. We've got a panel lined up, and that episode comes out Monday, May 11th. There's also going to be an open mic, a hot dog cart, and more. Come on out — we'd love to meet you. One more thing before we depart. Life is complicated, but it's also not at all. What are we doing here at Recovery Elevator? I heard a Toltec shaman once say there is nothing to learn, except how to unlearn. We are coming back together to find our people. To find our tribe. A Lakota chief once said the answer to all our problems can be found by looking towards nature. When bison — American buffalo — sense a blizzard coming, they don't run to the hills. They come together, shoulder to shoulder, and walk through the storm. We are doing the same thing. A drinking problem wants you alone, in a dark room, with liquid poison sloshing in a bottle. But as you already know, that's a one-way street to nowhere good. At first you tried to figure it out alone — that didn't work — and now you're returning to the pack, to the community, to the village. You're unlearning the idea that we have to be self-sufficient and have everything figured out on our own. So life is complicated, but again, it's not. You can't do life — or an alcohol-free life — alone. Can't be done, shouldn't be done, and it's no fun. Keep showing up, keep tuning in, keep listening, and share this podcast with a friend you think is struggling. Here I am, alone in my basement in the drunkest county in America, talking into a microphone — and somehow, you're on the other side of it. That's the miracle of the present day. Community doesn't always look like a meeting room or a church basement anymore. It looks like earbuds on a morning commute, a podcast player at 2 am when you can't sleep, a stranger's voice telling you it can be done. That's what we're building here. But we can't keep building it without you. If this podcast or Café RE has ever meant anything to you, today is the day to give back. The link is in the show notes — donate to Café RE through Give Big Gallatin Valley, fee-free, today only. Help us keep the lights on in the drunkest county in America, so nobody out there has to stay in the dark alone. https://www.givebiggv.org/organizations/cafe-re-inc
In this episode of Mea Culpa, Michael Cohen sits down with journalist and author Vicky Ward for a sharp, unfiltered conversation about the growing list of disasters at the podium—from chaotic press conferences and political spin to the breakdown of credibility in public leadership. Together, they examine how messaging failures, evasive answers, and performative politics are shaping public trust and dominating the headlines. Cohen and Ward also discuss the personalities behind the podium, the media's role in covering it all, and what these repeated missteps reveal about the state of American politics today. This week, we're giving you an inside look at what we cover over on our Patreon—where, if you're caught up on regular episodes and craving more, we dive into additional cases, including some that have already reached a verdict… but still leave questions behind. In this episode, we take you back to 1964 and into one of the most sensational true crime cases in American history—the murder of Jacques Mossler. Set against a backdrop of wealth, power, and high society, this case quickly spirals into something far more shocking. A brutal killing. A forbidden relationship that makes headlines across the nation. And a courtroom battle so filled with scandal that it drew comparisons to the biggest trials in history long before cable news existed. As the story unfolds, what emerges is not just a question of who committed the crime—but whether justice can truly be served when money, influence, and public perception collide. Because even when a case seems to have all the pieces… that doesn't always mean the truth wins. In the spring of 2026, Israel and the United States conducted joint offensive military operations against Iran: coordinating targets, dividing airspace, and operating with a degree of integration that has no precedent in the history of the alliance. The operation significantly degraded Iran's military capabilities, and it marked what many analysts regard as a genuine turning point, not just in the regional balance of power, but in the nature of the American-Israeli relationship itself. For decades, that relationship had been structured as a powerful patron supporting a dependent client. What the Iran war suggested to some observers is that Israel has—at least in part—outgrown that structure. That is the backdrop for a debate that is now live in both Jerusalem and Washington: what should American military aid to Israel look like when the current memorandum of understanding between the two countries expires in 2028? The U.S. currently provides Israel with approximately $3.5 billion annually in grants, earmarked for the purchase of American-made military equipment—an arrangement that dates to the aftermath of the Yom Kippur War and that has been renewed, and periodically enlarged, ever since. For most of that period, the case for the aid seemed self-evident. First the Arab states, and then Iran and its proxies, were actively threatening Israel's existence. American military and diplomatic support was an indispensable buttress of Israel's security. Whether that case remains self-evident today, in the wake of a war that has significantly diminished Iranian capabilities, is now a serious question being debated by Israelis and Americans of good faith, with thoughtful arguments on multiple sides. In this episode, Mosaic's editor Jonathan Silver speaks with a proud Israeli patriot who has been making the case for ending American aid for some time. Raphael BenLevi is a senior fellow at the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy, director of the Churchill Program for Statecraft and Security at the Argaman Institute in Jerusalem, a reserve officer in the IDF intelligence branch, and an occasional contributor to Mosaic. He recently published an essay in Foreign Affairs titled "America Should Be Israel's Partner, Not Its Patron." This week, the BGH gang dives into the meta slasher “Faces of Death” (2026)—a surprisingly entertaining meditation on online violence and its consumption. Inspired by one of the most notorious shockumentaries ever made, this modern horror film explores the blurred line between reality and exploitation. Along the way, the crew breaks down why Dacre Montgomery's generic handsomeness is actually terrifying, explores the hosts and live viewers experiences with the original shocker, and discusses why content moderation is the scariest job in America. Then things get spicy when Rachel brings up the AI-generated Val Kilmer film nobody asked for. “Faces of Death” is a 2026 American horror film and a reimagining of the infamous 1978 film of the same name. Directed by Daniel Goldhaber (Cam) and co-written with Isa Mazzei (Cam), it stars Barbie Ferreira, Dacre Montgomery, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday, Jermaine Fowler, and Charli XCX. Brendan Morgan is an ultrarunner who found running in 2023 by doing something most people avoid. He started because he hated it.Since then, he's gone all in. From completing a 4x4x48 just months after starting to running across Pennsylvania, Brendan has quickly built a reputation for taking on challenges that push both his body and mind to the edge. But what stands out isn't just the distance. It's the mindset behind it.In this conversation, Brendan talks about why running became more than just a physical outlet. It's something he can fully control in a world where most things aren't. That idea has shaped how he approaches challenges, how he deals with adversity, and how he shows up for others. He also shares how his past experiences and mental health journey influence the way he uses running as a tool, not just for himself, but to create space for others to feel seen and supported. Whether it's running across a state to raise awareness or showing vulnerability online, Brendan is intentional about how he uses his platform. This episode is about choosing discomfort on purpose, understanding why that matters, and exploring how far you can go when you lean into it.Jon and Brendan talk about:starting running because he hated it and what kept him coming backusing running as something you can fully control when life isn'thow pushing physical limits translates into mental resiliencethe role running plays in his mental health and day-to-day happinessdeveloping a deeper “why” through ultramarathons and long effortsrunning across Pennsylvania and using extreme challenges to raise awarenessthe experience of running Double Boston and what it revealedthe contrast between quiet miles and race-day energyhow past experiences shape his approach to discomfort and growthwhy he shares vulnerability and mental health openly onlinewhat draws him to longer and harder challenges like backyard ultrasadvice for anyone who wants to push themselves furtherFollow Brendan: https://www.instagram.com/runswithb?igsh=MXAwM3RoZGNydHdoag==This episode is supported by:Precision Fuel & Hydration - Dial your fueling in this year. Today, we are breaking down PriceSmart, the membership warehouse club operating across Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. I came away from this episode with a new appreciation for how a single retail concept and a single family have shaped the way much of the world shops. When you learn that Sol Price invented the modern club store, influenced Sam Walton, the founders of Home Depot, and the founders of Target, that his Price Club merged with Costco in 1993, and that his grandson now runs a separate company replicating the model across 12 emerging market countries, you start to see PriceSmart not as a mid cap retailer but as the third generation continuation of one of the most important ideas in modern American retail. I am joined by Markus Hansen, portfolio manager at Vontobel Asset Management. We start with Sol Price's founding of Fed Mart in the 1950s and the lineage that runs through Price Club, the Costco merger, and the 1993 spinoff that became today's company. We cover how 40% of operating earnings are locked in upfront each year through membership payments, why the company chooses to own its real estate and run its own logistics, and what happened to its stores when hurricanes hit Jamaica last season. In this episode from our archives, we chat with expat, author, and vlogger Dana Newman, an American living in Germany. Dana moved to Europe back in 2008, first to Prague, then later to Munich, where she married a German and still lives today. On her YouTube channel, Wanted Adventure, Dana talks about her experiences living abroad in general and living in Germany in particular, including the culture, the food, the traditions, and, of course, mastering the German language. (The infamously difficult-to-learn German language! Do you know how many ways there are to say "the" in German? We don't either, but it's a lot.) In fact, the German language is the subject of Dana's book. The full title of the book contains some German, so we'll let Dana tell you the whole thing, but the first part is You Go Me on the Cookie!, a literal English translation of a German expression. Find Dana on Instagram here or here. ***The Bittersweet Life podcast has been on the air for an impressive 10+ years! In this episode, we looked at Josiah Strong’s Our Country and the wider Protestant fears that shaped late nineteenth century America, especially anxiety over Catholic immigrants, cities, and the future of the nation. We then connected those ideas to the racialized hatred faced by Italian immigrants, culminating in the 1891 mass lynching in New Orleans, where anti-immigrant prejudice and public violence collided. This was a story about how religion, race, and nationalism fused in American life and helped define who counted as truly American. #HistoryOfThePapacy #AmericanCatholicHistory #JosiahStrong #Nativism #AntiCatholicism #ImmigrationHistory #ItalianAmericanHistory #NewOrleans1891 #ChurchHistory #USHistorySupport the show:Buy me a coffee! https://buymeacoffee.com/historyofthepapacyPatreon: http://patreon.com/historyofthepapacyBuy me a book: http://bit.ly/40ckJ8EHave questions, comments or feedback? Sometimes you've got to laugh to keep from crying in agriculture, and that's exactly what we did in this episode of Talk Dirt To Me. After weeks of dry conditions and stress across farm country, we finally got a big rain in West Tennessee and break down what it means for crops, planting progress, and why no-till farming and cover crops may have absolutely saved the day during the heavy rainfall. We also lighten the mood with our Top 5 Fast Food Joints rankings, which quickly turns into the kind of debate only sleep-deprived farmers and cattlemen can have. On the livestock side, cattle prices continue smashing records and breaking through the glass ceiling with no signs of slowing down, and we discuss what's driving the market and whether producers can expect the rally to continue. Things really go off the rails when we talk about the Tennessee highway bee truck wreck that released millions of bees, which somehow leads us into the legendary story of Cocaine Bear in Georgia. And to wrap things up, Bobby Lee shares his famous "3 S's" method for dealing with predators and buzzards messing with cattle. If you enjoy farming talk, cattle markets, rural humor, cover crop discussion, country storytelling, and two farmers trying to survive modern agriculture with their sanity intact, this one's for you. This week we host one of the most exciting horror filmmakers of the decade – Damian McCarthy, the twisted mind behind Caveat, Oddity and now, Hokum. It's the biggest film in Damian's career so far, with his biggest star, Adam Scott playing Ohm, a deeply flawed American writer who travels to Ireland, to spread his parent's ashes. Whilst staying in a creaky old hotel, he stumbled across dark human conspiracy and witchy haunting. Damian is so much nicer than Ohm, and this is a cheery conversation about the cheeriest scary film I've seen in a while! Doug sits down with Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations and co-author of Woke and Weaponized: How Karl Marx Won the Battle for American Education and How We Can Win It Back. The conversation moves from Robert's personal homeschooling story to the philosophical roots of classical Christian education, then traces how collectivist thinkers — from Robert Owen to Horace Mann to John Dewey to B.F. Skinner — engineered the modern American school system to separate children from their families and undermine Christian and libertarian foundations. Robert makes the case that compulsory government schooling is incompatible with both Scripture and liberty, and offers practical first steps for parents ready to walk away from it.Audio Production by Podsworth Media - https://podsworth.com Use code LCI50 for 50% off your first order at Podsworth.com to clean up your voice recordings and also support LCI!Full Podsworth Ad Read BEFORE & AFTER processing:https://youtu.be/vbsOEODpQGs ★ Support this podcast ★

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, the global and especially American situation is very dark, grave, and worsening daily. Europe has fallen to a jihadi Islamist crusade while unprecedented antisemitism targets Jews walking the streets in the U.S. while every synagogue spends fortunes on security. The Democrat Party no longer offers support to Jews, as it has been taken over and devoured by Islamists and Marxists who are welcome there. Also, the Supreme Court issued a major decision upholding that the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was never intended to allow creation of congressional districts based on race; it aimed instead to end race-based segregation in the South. The ruling reaffirms that districts cannot be drawn with racial intent to discriminate or guarantee outcomes, requiring actual evidence of intent to block minorities' opportunity to elect candidates of their choice rather than mere allegations. Democrats have misused the Act to advance their party by creating race-conscious districts, treating certain racial groups as reliable voters and fearing losses in majority-white areas, contrary to the Act's original colorblind aim. Later, Rep Byron Donalds calls in and reports that Gov Ron DeSantis submitted a new congressional map, which the legislature passed and the governor plans to sign. This is a strong reflection of the Florida's political framework. He also explains that the Democrat Party are a bunch of limousine liberals. They love everything being handed to them, but they do not have an appreciation for the market system and for free enterprise. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Allie sits down with Camille Varone, senior counsel at the Department of Justice, to discuss the explosive new revelations from a report by the DOJ Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias. The report exposes how the Biden administration systematically targeted Christians through an overbroad reading of Bostock, weaponization of the FACE Act against pro-lifers, FBI scrutiny of traditional Catholics, and pressure on schools, medical professionals, and faith-based organizations to conform to progressive gender ideology or lose funding. From career bureaucrats pushing “gender-affirming care” with minimal religious exemptions to coordination with abortion NGOs to prosecute pro-life advocates, this conversation reveals deep ideological capture within the federal bureaucracy — and what it means for religious liberty moving forward. Allie and Camille also address the report's rare acknowledgment of Christian thought's foundational role in American history, including a direct citation of Allie's book “You Are Not Enough (and That's Okay).” Task Force Report on Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias and Restoring Religious Liberty: https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/task-force-publishes-report-eradicating-anti-christian-bias-and-restoring-religious-liberty Share the Arrows 2026 is on October 10 in Dallas, Texas! A California winery co-owned by Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar's husband, Tim Mynett, has shut its doors for good amid scrutiny of the congresswoman's family wealth. The winery ceased business operations on April 4, two months after Republicans sent a letter demanding answers into the discrepancies between Omar's congressional financial disclosures for 2024 and the one she filed just one year earlier, according to California business records. In a February letter to Mynett, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) said financial disclosures filed by his wife Omar “show eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, which you hold ownership stakes in, went from being worth as much as $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024.”The United States has crossed a grim threshold: The national debt now exceeds the size of the entire American economy. As of March 31, debt held by the public stood at $31.27 trillion, while nominal GDP over the prior 12-month period was an estimated $31.22 trillion—pushing the debt-to-GDP ratio to 100.2%, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), based on new data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
American family farms are being systematically destroyed by the very government bills claiming to protect them. I'm joined by fourth-generation farmer and Farm Action Fund President Joe Maxwell to expose the massive corporate monopolies, land-grabs, and venture socialism hidden inside the $1.5 trillion farm bill. We dive deep into how taxpayer money is weaponized to drive up agricultural land prices, incentivize feed and fuel crops over actual food, and allow foreign conglomerates and hedge funds to dominate the meatpacking industry. If you want to know why beef prices are at record highs while cattle ranchers go bankrupt, the answer is in the cronyism of our agricultural policies. It is time to break up the monopolies, end crony subsidies and regulatory capture, pass the PRIME Act, and restore American food security. Learn more about your ad choices. In America’s first hundred years, the animal you were most likely to see was a passenger pigeon. And you saw a lot of them. Flocks were so numerous they literally blotted out the sun for days and their combined weight snapped the branches of entire forests where they roosted. Yet by 1914, the last specimen, a female named Martha, died at the Cincinnati Zoo, marking the complete extinction of what had been North America's most abundant bird numbering in the billions just decades earlier. Early Americans assumed the nation's bird populations were infinite, so market hunters fashioned homemade cannons to blast sleeping ducks by the dozens, "pigeoneers" shipped passenger pigeons by the trainload to city restaurants, and feather hunters shot rare birds worth more than their weight in gold so Gilded Age women could wear plumes in their hats. What followed was an unlikely coalition of bird-lovers like Roosevelt, gunmakers, business titans, and brave game wardens who transformed American conservation. They couldn’t save the passenger pigeon, but they saved other species from extinction, like the Canada Goose and the trumpeter swan. Today's guest is James H. McCommons, author of The Feather Wars: And the Great Crusade to Save America's Birds. We discuss how Roosevelt used executive powers to create the first federal bird refuge at Pelican Island in 1903, why the revolutionary 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act made nearly all wild birds wards of the federal government while inadvertently establishing that federal law supersedes state law, and how conservation success stories including wild turkeys, wood ducks, trumpeter swans, and bald eagles were all brought back from extinction's brink. McCommons also warns that America faces a new crisis reminiscent of the Gilded Age. Since 1970, one in four birds (about 3 billion) in North America have been lost, with backyard species like sparrows, blackbirds, warblers, and finches disappearing as indicator species foreshadowing greater environmental collapse.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The New Yorker staff writer Antonia Hitchens joins Tyler Foggatt to discuss a surreal week in Washington: the attempted assassination of Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, followed days later by a state visit from King Charles III and Queen Camilla. They talk about what Hitchens witnessed inside the Hilton ballroom during the shooting attempt, and how Washington responded in the days that followed. They also discuss the state of the “special relationship” between the United States and the United Kingdom, how Trump embraced the pageantry of the royal visit, and what King Charles's trip was meant to signal diplomatically.
