There are so many people living with chronic illness. Our world is fractured with sin and we feel the effects regularly. The aches and pains in our bodies and of this world are a stark reminder that God created us for something more beautiful and eternal. Our body longs to be home in the true resurrected body.Yet in the midst of suffering, we can find hope in the gospel. We can rejoice that we do not face the pain of this world alone and one day, the Lord will return and make all things new with no more grief and no more pain. In this episode, we are joined by our friend Brittany Allen, to discuss her journey with chronic illness, God's goodness in the midst of suffering, and the hope of the gospel. We hope this episode encourages you. Every Moment Holy Volume II: A Liturgy for those enduring lasting painWhere can I go, but to you, Jesus? And who but you can come to me?Either take this pain away, O Christ Or enfold me in the embrace of your SpiritAnd cradle me through it.For I cannot bear it alone.I cannot bear it alone.

First up we're discussing Piercing (2018). A psycho-horror film starring Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) who plays a prostitute who turns the table on would-be killer Reed (Christoher Abbot). The movie is weird, there's death and there's a whole lot of crazy. We told you this was going to be a mad one! Then we have What Keeps You Alive (2018). An indie psycho-horror starring Hannah Anderson and Brittany Allen as a married couple spending their one-year anniversary alone, in a cabin, in the woods. I don't think they meant this when they said ‘till death do us part'! It's eerie, it's bloody, and at times queasy but is it any good? Check out the show for more info. On Anniversary Corner we look back at: All Good Things, Hard Candy, American Psycho, Never Talk to Strangers and Misery. On Hidden Gems we bring you Goodnight Mommy (2014), an Austrian psychological horror from directors Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (The Lodge). After undergoing facial surgery a mother returns home to her twin sons only to be accused of not being their real mother. After confronting the woman the twins tie the woman down and interrogate her. Is she really their mother? Is she telling the truth? Download the show to find out more! If that wasn't enough for you we've even thrown in new trailers to watch and what you can catch on streaming. And don't forget to listen till the end of the show for a special Flixters prize for one lucky subscriber :) Thank you for supporting us and we hope you enjoy the show!

She works on her brand full time, and is simultaneously in the final stages of her PhD in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design at Iowa State. Brittany’s designs mix powerful shapes with feminine prints, and she incorporates French seams throughout every garment to add couture refinement, and emphasize her formal training and techniques. Brittany’s goal as a designer is to bring fun and excitement back into the fashion industry, and her designs are meant to make women feel more empowered and beautiful. She describes her brand as if Dolly Parton and Betsey Johnson had a baby who was then raised by Anna Wintour. Her designs have been showcased at Austin Fashion Week 2017-2019, 2017 Houston Fashion Week, and September 2019 Style Fashion Week, along with WWD and Footwear News.Support the show (http://hertalkpod.com)

Brittany is a mentor to so many women through our young adult group, and also has a quality sense of humor (which is always appreciated here!). Brittany goes through how after her initial relationship with God began, she entered one of the hardest storms of her life. Instead of blaming God, she leaned into Him, and was able to survive the season, and come out stronger. I know you guys will love this one! Enjoy!

On today’s Daytime Confidential podcast TV Guide’s Michael Logan returns to dish all the latest industry news and hottest storylines with Luke, Jamey, Jillian and Regan. During the super-sized episode, the gang discusses the end of As the World Turns, if P&G plans to create their own soap hub and where its stars will end up. Logan weighs in on Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo’s return to General Hospital as Brenda. Has it been a success or a bust? Find out which Brenda reunion Logan is looking forward to most. What will Sam McCall do when she comes face-to-face with Brenda? Logan also comments on Jonathan Jackson’s latest storyline as Lucky impersonating the Irish assassin Ronan. On paper, Vivian being buried alive on Days of our Lives looks like it should be entertaining. Find out what Logan thinks of DAYS’ new twist on one of its classic storylines. Many fans have been disappointed with how DAYS has written Crystal Chappell’s Carly Manning since her return. Logan shares his thoughts on why fantastic actresses–like Chappell, Eden Riegel and Gina Tognoni–have been snatched up by various shows without much apparent thought on their character’s development. All My Children has been making some major casting changes with the firing of Adam Mayfield, Brittany Allen and the casting of Daniel Cosgrove and Lindsay Hartley. Logan comments on the AMC casting shakeup and if the show’s move to L.A. has been a success. One Life to Live is bringing back Kim Zimmer as Echo. Will her return help provide Dorian and Viki with more storylines? Luke and Jillian are tired of the Ford brothers dominating air time so they get Logan’s opinion of the Ford Brothers and the Llanview teen set. Brad Bell is tackling a pretty intense topic by giving Stephanie stage four cancer on The Bold and the Beautiful. Can he pull it off? Logan weighs in on the front burner storyline, Scott Clifton as Liam and the new Thomas Forrester. Last time Logan visited the Daytime Confidential podcast, he wasn’t too happy about the state of The Young and the Restless, so the DC crew asks if he thinks things have improved at the No. 1 soap. Jillian and Logan bask in their common love for Nikki Newman. As the podcast winds down, the DC gang wraps things up by asking about the soap genre’s future and they get Logan’s opinion on the web series The Bay and Venice.
