For the first installment this week of The KOKO Show we are making round one of the Super Rugby season the first order of business, as the lads crunch the numbers and survey the action from a spine tingling slate of initial matches. In a week where 45 tries were awarded, 317 points were scored and every match finished within a 1-12 margin, it would be fair to say Super Rugby is back and the fellas were physically aroused. With tight pants and positive attitudes the boys shuck each game like a delicious Sydney Rock Oyster, handing you their pearls of wisdom when necessary and throwing out the facts that don't pass the sniff test. Moreover, the guys get hot and heavy celebrating the most successful first round of Super Rugby by Aussie teams since 2018, with the Brumbies, Warartahs and Western force all notching up last gasp wins for a tangly little trifecta of triumph. Plus, the fellas are open and honest with how they are placed after week one in the KOKO Super Rugby Fantasy League, as they celebrate sexy selections, rue missed opportunities or in Prof's case only just realised the Reds didn't play. So sit back and set up a fantasy team full of your favourite former footy greats over forty that have a mediocre podcast and let your dirtiest thoughts run wild.It is time to get freaky ladies and gentlemen with another episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.TIMECODES:00:00 - Start of the show 01:00 - Introducing the show 04:39 - Introduce the boys 06:03 - KOKO Fantasy Super Rugby League chat 12:23 - Superb Rugby Summation 12:46 - CRUSADERS V HURRICANES REVIEW 16:35 - WARATAHS V HIGHLANDERS REVIEW29:49 - DRUA V BRUMBIES REVIEW 35:04 - BLUES V CHIEFS REVIEW 39:10 - FORCE V MOANA PASIFIKA REVIEW47:06 - KOKO's Takeaways from round one of Super Rugby 48:37 - KOKO's LOKO Players of the Round49:44 - Goit had to clear up a fallen tree51:14 - The KOKO Quiz 57:11 - Close of the show BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickons TWITTER/X: @kickoffskickons YOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickons TIKTOK: @kickoffskickons If you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au. This week on the KOKO Show the lads are coming to you from the billionaire's backyard, Monaco. In a nation known for its tangy tax breaks, OTT opulence and a general intolerance for Aussie ‘riff raff', there are four bog standard blokes with no voices, peaking anxiety levels and rented tuxedos leaving their mark on this really tidy town. We are in Prince Albert's country for the World Rugby Awards and after dragging Holiday Swoop away from the open bar, Drew away from stalking Dupont and putting Goit's shirt back on for the red carpet, we found ourselves just a little sliver of time to bring you a truly luxe podcasting presentation of perfection. As the Autumn Internationals come to close with only one match remaining next weekend, with the Aussies taking on the Irish, we give you a full breakdown of all the action from week three of the November Test Match madness. Moreover, despite the panel being down in the dumps after watching the Wallabies' Grand Slam hopes get murdered at Murrayfield, we run through all the ins and outs of Scotland's sublime sinking of HMAS ‘Schmidt Hot' and how the Aussies will bounce back against the Irish. Plus, we will give you a little taste of all the matches from across the weekend, as well as all the winners and grinners from World Rugby's night of nights. I mean it aint the Logies or the RSL's mega meat tray raffle, but Monaco is pretty cool I guess. So, get yourself squared away as we bring you MYER's first Monaco mixed bag Match Fit and some seriously sensational ‘Super Sizzlers' brought to you by BeefEater and Appliances Online. This show will certainly bring you vacay vibes, as boys go full ‘maxo relaxo' in the middle of the Med. Despite our show standing out like dogs balls in such a serene setting, we promise to deliver you a demure dictation of the most distinguished debauchery in all of rugby. It is time now for Kick Offs and Kick Ons the Monaco edition. As real estate agents, we work hard to win leads and listings…but we lose 75% of them before they buy or sell again. That's because most clients pick a new agent in their next transaction. Since the original agent doesn't reach out to them or stay in front of them, they might not even remember their name. All of this is unavoidable. Since it costs 10 times more to get a new client than to keep our current customers, our marketing dollars should be spent on the latter. Staying top of mind with clients is as simple as providing frequent value over their entire homeownership journey. How do we retain future transactions years in advance? In this episode, I'm joined by the COO of Kukun, Scott Langmack. He shares how their platform helps agents stay in touch and in front of past clients. You should be spending your very first marketing dollar on keeping your current clients. -Scott Langmack Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode Why agents lose most of their clientsMost real estate agents will walk with the seller until the transaction ends. Why do we need to shift to walking alongside them throughout their entire home ownership journey? Where your first marketing dollars should goIt costs 5-10 times more to get a new client. Can focusing on keeping our current customers slash our marketing budgets significantly? The nosy neighbor strategy Kukun gives agents alerts to things like potential remodels and additions. How can we use this kind of information to provide value to clients? Guest Bio Scott Langmack is the COO of Kukun, overseeing product, marketing, analytics, investor relations, and more. Prior to Kukun, Scott led global marketing for the largest division of Microsoft, was VP of marketing at Wilson Sporting Goods, and Director of Worldwide Marketing at Pepsi Cola. This week on the KOKO Show the crew headed down the Hume Highway to surprise our little leader upon his return from the land of the free and the home of the brave. That is right, we went full bloody stealth mode to ensure the unofficial King of Canberra got the serenade he deserved fresh off his business class flight home. Thanks to our special guest and former Wallaby Ben Alexander and his team at ‘The Dock' in Canberra we had a fun little get together in front of Goit's family and friends. We cover all things ra ra in the lead up to the start of the TRC focusing on the Wallabies matchup against the Springboks and touching on the All Blacks v Argentina clash. Gone are the ghosts of July series past and now it is time for the big dawgs to eat, woof, woof, woof baby.Plus, in partnership with our headline sponsor MYER we serve up another mouth watering ‘Match Fit' segment and this time it comes with undertones of capital chic, parliamentary poise and world leader wonderment. Our guest in episode #134 is Pamela Aloia, she is an energy healer, author, spiritual coach, and teacher. Her work helps clients understand how they are affected by energy and how to clear emotional and mental clutter. Today we'll be talking about her experiences meeting people from the other side, connecting with past lives, and working with angels .What we observed:An interest in energy healing led to a discovery of past lives, spirit guides, and contact with the afterlifeShe began communicating with her uncle and grandmother, who had passed.Communication with those who have passed may depend on how they are transitioning on the other sideThe differences between angels and spirit guidesWhile angels can have a sense of humor, spirit guides can be non-human entities. There's certain agreements we may have made to have this pattern in our lifetime so we can learn from it or we can learn to let it goIt's possible that the energy we send to loved ones who have passed can help them grow on the other side Soul agreements or “roles” we play are made in between lives The difference between a past life and a life between lives regressionA sister in one of her past lives is a good friend of hers in this life Examples of past life regression sessions with her clientsPast life memories from ancient civilizationsExamples of the benefits of past life regression therapyWhy she does not judge energy by its color For more info: https://pamelaaloia.com/Light in the DarknessAt LITD we dive into the paranormal & supernatural realm from a Christian perspective....Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showMusic by Black Box Traders

Learn about my course Dads: Secrets to Success at www.theconfidentman.meCheck out more resources to help you as a man at David Maxwell CoachingMany people are living life with a longing for positive affirmation from their fathers. The problem is how hard it is for them. A majority grew up without a dad around. Some had a dad who didn't understand the power of his words and never gave that gift to their children. Many times it's because our dads didn't get it from their dads. The reality is our words are powerful as dads. Even if we don't have kids, those we mentor and lead need to feel the power of our words. As men, we must learn the power of our words and how to use them to build others up, especially our own children. I woke up this morning to the sound of screaming and it took a while for me to realize it was a nightmare. At least I think it was a nightmare, but the more I contemplate it the more I wonder if it wasn't more a psychic scream I was just sensitive enough to hear. There is so much suffering in the world right now, and the more we cling to the lies of late stage capitalism, the more there will be. I live in what so many lovingly call the heartland… I've never been comfortable with that kind of language. It is a bit too self aggrandizing for my taste. It is also a misnomer.Jobs are going away because of the mismanagement and greed of the megacorps that run them. Government aid is restricted to make people desperate enough to take whatever job they can find. Climate change has brought more storms and flooding to the region. Women's rights are under attack. Trans people are being outlawed. Suffering is a growth industry. I am still shaken by the experience. That scream haunts me. It wasn't a singular voice, It broke into my mind as a symphony of pain, shaking me awake from a sound sleep that didn't have anything dark, scary, or painful in it.My life itself has become a metaphor…All our lives are metaphors if we choose to read them like that.Letting go, in our lives, of all our pain and strife,Releases the burden that we carry deep within,Liberating us to seek the path to freedomTo break the binds that tie us.For in our hearts there lies a hidden source,A river of divine flow, waiting to be tapped,So wisdom can spill forth and enlightenOur minds to imagining a better world to build. This river runs beneath the surface of life,A force that flows through all creation,Connecting all that is, and ever shall be,A current of vital energy, waiting to set us free.Draw from this wellspring, and we shall find,The strength to rise above all that holds us down,To face each trial with courage and with grace,And to walk with ease, on paths once so hard. For in this river, there lies a gift to cure,A healing balm that soothes our weary souls,And gives us wings to rise above the fray,To touch the sky and dance among the stars. So let us not hold onto all our pain and strife,And tap this underground river of divine flow,For in its depths, we'll find the strength we seek,And all the love and light our heart can hold.Isn't that what I am supposed to say? Isn't that the advice we always offer in times like this? It isn't wrong, but it isn't really helpful. A hollow truth isn't a lie, but it cannot sustain us for very long.the truth of hollownessOver the last year, I've come to see the difference between the trite, hollow truths that are often given out as spiritual advice and the hard truth of hollowness that those of us who have reached this place quickly forget how to talk about.I talked about this recently on my other substack:Hollowness is painful to achieve. No one should strive to reach it.Welcome it in when it knocks.Fighting against it is futile.Hollowness is the other side of the ennui coin.ennuinouna feeling of utter weariness and discontent resulting from satiety or lack of interest; boredom: (Dictionary.com)* Ennui is the state of weariness and discontent from being too full or uninterested in something. * Hollowness is the state of weariness and discontent from being emptied out or disillusioned by something. They can be hard to tell apart. How can we know if we are too full or too empty when we don't have the energy or interest to do anything? Does it matter which it is?Yes. Ennui fills us up and holds us in place like an anchor. Hollowness has an empty space that can be filled to fuel forward action.Hollowness hurts more than ennui. I probably shouldn't say that since I am advocating for it, but it is important to be honest here. All of the pain and suffering pressed upon us by this post modern age as it collapses around us will destroy us if we don't let them go. Suffering, if we hold it too tight can fester into resentment and hatred. We should never lie to ourselves about how alluring and comfortable hate is. It is an abusive friend that always gives bad advice and encourages us down the wrong path. If we do nothing else in our lives other than free ourselves from hate, we have lived a good life.the struggle to let goIt is hard to let go,to set down our pain,to release our suffering,to forgive our abusers. We cannot pick up to put down.We should not take in to set free.We must not dig in to clean out.We haven't learned to let go.Open your hands, unclench your fists, relax your heart, don't forget to breathe.Letting go is not a process. We may have to do a lot of work to understand and accept the need to let go, but the act itself is easy. It is so easy we refuse to believe and embrace the process, and overcomplicate it. We add numerous steps and stages to reassure ourselves that we are actually doing something.Letting go is not something we do. It is what we don't do.When we practice letting go, we approach life with open hands and open hearts. We allow the pain and suffering to fall away. To say we are personally doing something would mean that when we are outside in the rain we give each rain drop permission to hit us and flow down our bodies. That is not how rain or water works. Some try to blame people from being out in the rain in the first place.Suffering rains down from all the oppressive forces empowered by greed, fear, hate, and trauma. So many TERFs are lashing out from traumas and pains they hold so close and identify so strongly with, discussion with them is impossible. They are hurting so much they cannot notice it anymore. They have come to believe that the way they feel is natural. They cannot grow out of their pain until they recognize that first. None of that excuses the suffering they inflict on others. Suffering longs to spread and inflict itself on others. Knowing the sources of suffering can develop compassion within us, but knowledge is not the solution to the problem.Understanding why the clouds form does not stop the rain. Accepting that rain falls does not prevent us from getting wet. Letting go is simply not clinging to the pain. To continue the rain analogy: once we notice we are sitting in a tub collecting the rain water, letting go is either getting out of the tub, or at the very least, pulling the plug so that water can drain out. Sometimes it is impossible or way too hard to get out of the tub, but we don't have to allow ourselves to drown in the deluge when it comes.SpaciousnessSometimes, the trick isn't to stand up, but to open up. The greatest superpower of the way of release is the art of opening ourselves up to the spacious awareness of hollowness. When I think of the vastness of the cosmos and deep time, I am amazed to exist in the unfolding story of creation. We aren't small. Not really. The water that makes up 55 to 78% of our bodies contains 2 hydrogen forged in the Big Bang and one oxygen atom. That oxygen started as hydrogen in the heart of a star that fused together to make oxygen before that star died in a nova and shared its oxygen with the universe. The iron in our blood came from a red giant star that made it as its last act before exploding. The calcium in our bones was made as those stars exploded. We are the children of one or more stars that lived their whole lives before our sun ever came into being. We are capable of poetry, art, music, love, compassion, so many beautiful things. Each of those require us to have space within us so they can be born. This is the lie in the story of the tortured artist. No one has to be tortured to make art, but we all have to have that open spaciousness within us that makes room for art to come into being. We are star stuff building the world to come each day through countless creative acts. When it is too hard for us to let go, if we can just open our hands the bigger things may just fall away from their own weight. Rosses Community School Dungloe, in Co. Donegal has become the first ever Irish winner of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) flagship STEM education program, goIT (go Innovate Together). The team of five Transition Year students from Rosses Community School competed with schools across Ireland and UK to win the recent monthly challenge to Promote Social Inclusion for All by creating a digital innovation that empowers and promotes the inclusion of all people, regardless of their background. GoIT seeks to bridge the science, technology, maths and engineering (STEM) learning gap in schools and has benefited more than 130,000 students worldwide since 2009. The initiative empowers students with the skills and practice and provides mentorship to prepare them for careers of the future. To date, the international goIT monthly challenge has led to the design of more than 26,000 tech-for-good digital innovation prototypes by young innovators. The winning project from the team at Rosses Community School saw them develop their ‘Coffair' App which they designed to help reduce the exploitation of coffee farmers that are faced with language barriers when trying to negotiate fair prices for their goods. Their innovative app would enable coffee farmers to connect with buyers in a global market to enable more transparency in the supply chain. Commenting on the achievement, Brian Kelly, TCS CSR Manager said “I am thrilled that the Rosses Community School were the first Irish winners of the goIT challenge. This monthly challenge is a recurring opportunity for classrooms to directly engage in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the goIT digital innovation. It is also an excellent opportunity for students all over Ireland to express their innovative ideas and gain valuable experience in presenting their ideas.” The winning students recently visited the TCS Global Delivery Centre in Letterkenny, where TCS provides IT services, consulting and business solutions on behalf of its many Irish and multinational customers. While visiting, the TY Economics Students Dylan Doherty, Cianán Mc Daid, Louie Mort, Eoghan O'Hagan and Darragh Davidson spent the morning in the TCS boardroom discussing their app idea with the TCS Leadership team Andrea McBride, Gerard Grant, Chris Lynch and CSR Manager Brian Kelly. TCS leadership were highly impressed with the ‘Coffair' app innovative idea, the students' detailed presentation, and their confidence. Andrea McBride, Head of TCS Global Delivery Centre said: “We were delighted to welcome the winning students to our Global Delivery Centre in Letterkenny to present to our leadership team. It was great to hear about their fantastic innovation and to give them some information on our work at TCS, giving an overview of what we deliver to our customers around the globe and the employment opportunities available for their future in Donegal. We hope the goIT experience was a fun and creative way to learn more about STEM and computer science.” The TCS goIT program aims to inspire students to consider a career in computer science and technology, spark curiosity in their minds and enhance confidence and employability. It also works to empower students to design and develop innovative digital solutions?for community problems, provide exposure and insight into varied roles within an IT company and the business world?and challenge gender stereotypes by showcasing women in STEM as role models. TCS has a large presence in Ireland where it employs over 1,000 people located at the TCS Global Delivery Centre in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. TCS is now launching the December GoIT Challenge. This month we are celebrating all the wonderful Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) we helped tackle with technology this year. Students can choose any of the pervious challenges from this year and design an app to solve a problem around that SDG. For more information on the goIT Challenge and to sign up and enter the December Challenge v...

Check out his music at cossinsmusic.com or email him cossinsmusic@gmail.com for bookings or to tell him how awesome he is!Below are the lyrics to each of the songs that he played today!Live it well ::Sometimes I think of a concept for a song, and I have to work at it for a week or two to get it to the finished product. I've never had a song come out of me as fast as this one did. This came to me after I missed out on a family outing due to my own apathy - I just didn't feel like going. I was playing my guitar on the back porch thinking about how much I regretted staying, and the words to the verses just poured out of me in about half an hour. I was openly sobbing as was moved by the words that kept coming. I wrote the chorus the next morning.V1Taking bike rides in the parkCatching fireflies after darkHitting that swimming holeOr giving a push and pull to that ol' beat up tire swingThese are the things that summer's made ofAnd when you're a kid, oh, it's the greatestA blanket spread under fireworksA baseball game with with your father, and those evening suns that just never want to setAnd how you wished it would never endAnd how you'd count the weeks til school's back inBut still that calendar'd keep flipping and flipping and flippingCHWhy does it have to go so fastI want a life with no regretsWe've each got our own story to tellAnd when they write my book I hope it's titled,He lived it wellV2Well now my kids tug on my armsSaying "daddy take us to the park"And while I've lost all sense of wonderThey know there's still a kid down underneath all my maturitySo they ask a second timeI see that sparkle in their eyesAnd I want that sense of wonder tooBut all to often I just choose myself and for that we all loseBut then before I knowI start asking "where'd all the time go"It slips away with every inch they're growing and growing and growingCHI wanna live it wellCome join me,live it wellSpend some time skipping rocks, live it wellMaybe drop a line down by the dockGo play catch, or fly a kiteDon't let those moments pass you byRead 'em a book, pitch a tentGive 'em the gift of your presenceLive it well, live it wellDon't be afraid to live it wellDie to yourself and live it wellJust live it well, just live it wellBeauty Remains ::V1When the heartache's so great that you can't make a soundAnd all that you hear is your breathing in and outIn that moment you wish this pain would passBut already knowing it surely will lastBR1Because that kind of hurt doesn't go away easyIt pours out of hearts that've known love deeplyThat kind of hurt doesn't go away easyIt doesn't go away easyCHBecause a beautiful soul is so beautiful no matter how empty, no matter how fullAnd that beauty's a mark of the Creator's heartFound in each image bearer, it's His calling cardAnd although their beauty may fade, their beauty remainsV2So what do you do when that hard truth is knownAnd just no matter how hard you try, there's no letting goIt'll hit you in waves 'til your last dying breathWith both tears and laughter again and again and againBR2Because that kind of love doesn't go down easyIt becomes a part of your very beingThat kind of love doesn't go down easyIt doesn't go down easyIt doesn't go downThat kind of love doesn't go down easyIt overcomes the hurting and the grievingThat kind of love doesn't go down easyIt doesn't go down easyYour Glory Awaits ::I love playing this song around easter. I wrote it a few years back, and always thought it needed something at the end so I added a little more this year. I just love the picture of Jesus identifying with us in our darkness. Such beautiful imagery that Jesus, being fully human, also fully understands our trouble, and pressed through it in obedience to glorify his Father. The words to this song came while sitting alone by a campfire in the wilderness of West Virginia. I was playing this simple tune on my uke, and as the fire died out, I continued to sit and play as my surroundings became complete darkness. It is a picture of wrestling through the lonely, fearful, angry, dark places in life. It's about the ongoing, repeated decision to lay down those things before Jesus, to surrender them to him in the same way that he surrendered to his Father. In doing so - in giving him total control of our thoughts, decisions, and will - a space is created in which he is free to act and reveal his glory to those all around us. His kingdom is advanced as we lay ourselves down in the most vulnerable, difficult places in life.V1in a solitary place the last ember is fadingand this darkness is so thick I cannot see anythingand as the fear creeps in with despair to followI'm struck with the notion that you'd lead me to the shadowsand who am I to think this loss comes without purposealas, but in this night your eye has seen everythingand after all the "why's" give way to plain acceptancethese clenched fists open wide, and these cold hands are lifted highCH1and your glory awaits when I lay down my lifeyour glory awaits when you come down from highyour glory awaits, your glory awaits, you reach the darkest placeyour glory awaits, your glory awaits, when you reveal your faceyour glory awaitsV2in a solitary place they found you in a gardenoverwhelmed with grief, every friend had gone awayand in that desperate state you pleaded with your fathernot my will but yours, but please won't you take this cup from meand given up to darkness you hung alone in shamesinless author of life held captive by the gravebut it could not contain you, that stone was cast asideand all heaven cried out when God said rise my son arise!CH2your glory awaits, you laid down your lifeyour glory awaits, you came down from highyour glory awaits, your glory awaits, you reached the darkest placeyour glory awaits, your glory awaits, for you revealed my faceand your glory awaitsPCWhenever you sever the ties and the fettersThat binded the hearts of these slaves and these debtorsYour glory awaitsYour kingdom's a beacon that shines on the weakAnd the darkness can't hide from the light of it's freedomYour glory awaitsThe enemy couldn't be more surprised than to seeThe curtain that was torn as you hung on the treeNature's law bended, death's time only lendedAnd down to the depths back to glory ascendedKing of kings, Lord of lords, risen one, Living WordSat at your rightful place - the right hand of YHWHYours is the name that's above every other nameJesus, you're mighty to saveAnd forever your glory awaitsSo let your glory fall, let your glory fallLet your glory shine, let your glory shineYour glory awaitsLet your glory fall, let your glory fall, let your glory fallLet your glory shine, let your glory shine, your glory, your glory, glory, glory awaitsin a solitary place your glory awaits

How to get more 1:1 clients If you're here for the business side of things, then go ahead and join my free on demand workshop, Your Biz | Your Way - 3 steps to build a profitable online health and fitness biz And while you're on the site, snag all the free resources - you'll find goodies for trainees and coaches or entrepreneurs alike. Much love. In Q1 and Q2 my FitsPRO's and 1:1 biz clients have had great success with securing more 1:1 roster spots. It's something that is likely needed if you're starting or growing in the online space of health and fitness. We typically start with a 1:1 offer because of a few things, which I've mentioned before: 1:1 is often the highest ticket offer - meaning we can secure solid income from the get goIt requires a smaller audience size - you can only take on so many 1:1 clients. Let's say you need to fill 10 spots. That's probably easier, even at a higher price point, with an audience of 300 people in comparison to filling 100 20 day challenge spots. You see?1:1 allows us to refine our processes - both in the onboarding and marketing space, as well as the actual process we want our clients through.Lastly, 1:1 allows us to get great testimonies and feedback. And bonus - gaining experience with our 1:1 ideal clients, allows us to see what gaps need to be filled, and who those gaps are for. So that, when the time comes to scale, we can create supporting offers. Or, of course, you can simply hire more coaches and fill more 1:1 spots. Or both. So, there are some reasons that we typically start with 1:1 training in the online space before creating courses, or group programs. Though, nothing is required. As always. Now we answer the question of how you actually FILL these 1:1 spots. For some context, I am not speaking in terms of a hard open and close launch. You've opened 1:1 spots, and you're consistently trying to bring in more applicants. That's the scenario I am referring to throughout this episode. Okay? Picture painted. First off, this assumes you have a landing page with an application in place - this application obviously needs to make clear to you if this person is a good fit for 1:1. That's up to you and the questions you ask. You can then schedule a sales call, or skip the sales call, send a contract, they pay and sign up. With the latter, I often think a proper sales page is needed - sales pages simply cover what is often covered in a sales call, right? Who it's for, how you function, your philosophy, the result, expectations, etc - all to figure out if it's a good fit for the prospect client. Once all of this in place, let's get more clients. It is my belief that if your roster isn't full, it's your fault. Meaning - you either aren't selling enough, you're selling in the wrong place, your messaging is off, or a combination of these three. This is just my belief, take it for what it's worth. Thus, we fill more spots through:-Selling more often-Polling your audience-Making it easy & clear for the client Let's break these down. Selling more often. With my 1:1 biz clients, this always comes as a silly surprise. Not always, but more often than not, when we schedule their sales frequency (2-3 times per week at least), the applications start rolling in. Go figure. We can't expect applications every time you mention your service, but you DO need to talk about your service and tell people to apply OFTEN. LIKE REALLY OFTEN. And here's the deal - before you say “I don't want to feel like I'm always selling or bombarding people.” …I get that. No one likes to be bombarded either. When I walk into a store, I don't want Shelly all up in my face before I've had a chance to look around. Let a woman BREATHE. But keep in mind, you're posting on Instagram, sending weekly emails, and showing up in your stories FAR MORE frequently than you're selling. And not every person opens every email or sees every social media post (referring mos...

> Click here to join the conversation on this episode in the Mindshare community. One of the fundamental views I have on positioning is to put yourself into a "Category of One". I recommend my clients do the same for their business. That means:Find a unique and valuable differentiatorDouble down on what makes you uniquely valuableCommunicate that value consistently everywhere you goIt doesn't mean you need to be the only X in your field. What it means is you're the only X (agency, consultant, freelancer, whatever) who specializes in Y in some unique way. So if people want that unique value or angle you bring, you're the only one offering it. There are other alternatives, but they will be either more broad or specific than you, and none will have your unique angle you bring to the table. In this episode, I shared two stories that demonstrate how this has been advantageous to me in my own consulting business. I hope this encourages you to find your unique angle, to be willing to double down on it (which requires making trade-offs), and to stick with it long enough to see the advantages. Are you a category of one? Let me know in the comments!—kP.S. Here's an article I wrote on this topic for my coworking audience, which still applies to you/your clients in general.

On today's showMy guest isis internationally renowned master dowser and Causative Diagnostician Elizabeth brown . In addition to private clients, she works to support doctors, dentists, clinics, therapists and consultants in identifying causative factors behind illness - particularly cancer, ME, skin conditions, all forms of allergies, and sets of symptoms that have no orthodox label.Elizabeth's nomadic family background and diverse careers in media and film, interior design and international relocation have given her a broad experience of life. After living and working in New York and Washington DC, she worked for eight years with major multi-nationals and blue chip companies in the City of London. Experiencing, first-hand, the debilitating effects of electromagnetic pollution in an office environment, she then co-founded and ran a successful Geopathic stress consultancy, which rapidly received national press coverage. Thirty years of interest in holistic disciplines, including studying Feng Shui, astrology, remote viewing, dowsing and nutrition, stand her in good stead. Her teachers have been as diverse as a Hopi Medicine Woman to two former presidents of the British Society of Dowsers. Her great-grandfather was a water dowser, and Elizabeth is a master dowser. She is on the Professional Register of the British Society of Dowsers, of which she has been a member since 1993.In 2010 her book 'DOWSING - The Ultimate Guide for the 21st Century' was published. Genesis 3:1-7, John 1:19-23; 29-39; 3:22-30Genesis 3:1-73 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LordGod had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?”2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'”4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. God Has not made a bad tree. He has simply made a tree. And there is nothing intrinsic about the tree that is different in any way from the other trees. Rather, God has simply confronted man with a choice. He could have just as well said, “Don't cross this stream; don't climb this mountain.” He is saying, “Believe me and stand in your place as a creature, not as one who is autonomous. Believe me and love me as a creature to his Creator, and all will be well. This is the place for which I have made you.” Francis Schaeffer, Genesis in Space and Time Frozen: Let it GoIt's time to see what I can doTo test the limits and break throughNo right, no wrong, no rules for meI'm free John 1:19-23; 29-3919 Now this was John's testimony when the Jewish leaders[c] in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”He said, “I am not.”“Are you the Prophet?”He answered, “No.”22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”23 John replied in the words of Isaiah (40) the prophet, “I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.'”[d]29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God's Chosen One.”[f]35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”John 3:22-3022 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized.24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.' 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. We asked Empty Heaven to describe the thought process that went into the writing of "Shadowself": Jungian psychology purports that every human has a "Shadow Self," an unknown, unconscious side. It's mostly thought of as a receptacle for all of our negative feelings, although it's chaotic nature can often diffuse emotions as we understand them, replacing them with an incomprehensible mush. When I listen to "Paired," I am reminded that not only do our devices come equipped with a personality (however artificial), we also teach them our own. However, we don't teach them how to be us as we really think we are. We fill them with data points, search history, demands, private notes, and all sorts of other private things. If someone were to try to make a portrait of us based off of our devices, it would be an undoubtedly warped, sadly sterile, and sometimes disturbing one. I know mine would be weird for sure. I believe it's accidentally poetic that they even get little Apple IDs with our name."Shadowself" is about having a double, a doppelganger that follows you wherever you go, and it feeds you stressors, insecurity, and endless stimulation...the proverbial "devil on one's shoulder." But, you are slightly to blame, because you taught it everything it knows. I consider this to be the dark side to the concept of "Paired," a very funny and also sweet podcast that I love.Lyrics:When I move, so do youWhen I deviate, you see through every move i make like i was scriptedYou can feel when weight has shiftedWhen I look away, you disapproveWe are one in the sameWe play symmetrical party gamesWe dance together in the showerWe rise and fall at the same hoursBut when I sleep, you interrupt the dream I built myself a shadowself and always want to look at themand when I tell myself I don’tI spiral and I look again Am I sick? Shawnna Sumaoang: Hi, and welcome to the Sales Enablement PRO podcast. I am Shawnna Sumaoang. Sales enablement is a constantly evolving space, and we’re here to help professionals stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices so they can be more effective in their jobs. Today, I’m excited to have Giorgia join us from Lever. I’d love for you to just kind of give us a brief introduction to yourself, your role, and your organization. Giorgia Ortiz: Absolutely. Thank you for having me. I am the global director of sales enablement here at Lever. We are a talent relationship management company and we pride ourselves in really providing the software platform that encourages and enables a best-in-class experience both for companies and candidates looking to join a new company. So, happy to be here with you. SS: So, at the Sales Enablement Soirée, you talked about an initiative in which you identified four competencies that are indicative of what good selling looks like for your salespeople. I’d love for you to share with our audience kind of what those four competencies are. GO: Absolutely. So, the initiative was born from a very simple question that the team was not able to answer, which was how are our sales reps onboarding? And it seems like a simple enough question, but, if you don’t have a framework in place, it’s difficult to give real metrics around it. So, the team huddled and the competencies that we came up with were born from the work that we did. And looking at what does a successful salesperson at this company do, and when do they need to do these things or know these things in their 90-day or so onboarding? The four competencies that we came up with were their ability to demonstrate the product, their ability to articulate the first call deck or call it your value proposition, their ability to identify a champion and then further test and validate that champion, their ability around sales execution, how well were they able to manage both the internal workings of our company as well as manage the sales process from the prospect’s point of view. SS: I think that those are definitely a good top four for people to keep in mind. How did you actually go about kind of identifying those as the core competencies that lead to success within your organization? GO: Many, many whiteboard and post-it note sessions. So, it was interesting to have these kinds of conversations with my team. I was fortunate to have a really great team that ran our sales bootcamps and was very involved in the post-bootcamp certifications. They understood the amount of work that went into getting folks ready to be in the field. And what came out of those initial conversations was a realization that at the end of the day, a person’s ability to nail that first call deck was not going to be a clear indicator of their future success. In fact, first call, and that was actually one of the criteria. The early criteria was their ability to handle a first call or first meeting, really how they manage that. Then once we understood that, we took a step back and said, “okay, well what are the things that sales reps need to learn and do as part of a sales process?” So, what I did is I mapped out our actual sales process and then we asked ourselves, what are folks actually doing and saying throughout the sales process. That’s how you came to the competencies. So, for example, in order for someone to be able to give a good first call pitch about the company, they have to have a clear understanding of our messaging, what it is that we do, a comfort level with the problems that we solve, and a good understanding of the people that we sell to. Then you start mapping out, when do they need to know this by? And then you move on to, now they’ve engaged this prospect and they’re interested. Now they’re going to need to show them something. So, what do they need to do and know in order to do that? And that’s when you move into their ability to demonstrate. It requires them to have a keen understanding of our product, how to use it, a good feel for navigating the product and how to tell the story around it. And we just continued along this exercise and basically modeled our sales process as the single source of truth and then mapped that out over a three-month period. The nice thing about competencies is, I’ll tell you that from a scoring perspective, we were very transparent with our new hires and with the sales managers that this wasn’t a means of performance management, but rather it enabled us to hone in on the areas of opportunity for growth within their onboarding. What that meant is that when we’re hiring folks, not everybody’s coming in with the same competencies or experience. So, you may have some people that are much better at the product that they are messaging. Or, they’re really good at sales execution and champion building, but not yet quite where you need them to be on messaging. You’d bring them through their a bootcamp or sales camp, whatever you’re calling it. At the end, we sit down with the manager. They would sit down and they would score the new rep on a scale of one to five, where were they on these five competencies? And then every two weeks or a month, depending on your sales organization, you keep scoring. What happens then is you might have someone that is really good at one particular competency early on, and so you begin to focus your efforts on the areas that they really need help in. And so that way it’s not a catch-all for everybody, but you can begin to customize this person’s individual onboarding within a very clear framework. What we found is that when we first launched the criteria or the competencies to the sales managers and we asked them to begin scoring, the first couple of scorecards that we received, we knew were not going to be very accurate because the sales managers for the first time were being asked to observe their people through a specific lens. And so now when they were observing their people, they were thinking about, “Oh, okay, we’re in a demonstration. Let me be mindful of this criteria.” Then they are able to better understand and report back on how they actually are doing in a demonstration. Or I’m having a one-on-one with them on a deal review, and the champion building came up. So, let me be mindful of that so that I can better score them and know whether they are at the level that they should be or if this is something we need to work on. All of a sudden it created a greater awareness and framework for the managers to be able to really start to understand where their sales reps needed greater help. That’s how it started. SS: I love that. And I think you touched on this quite a bit, how important the partnership is with frontline sales managers. Now, how do you ensure that the frontline sales managers are really holding their salespeople accountable to those competency expectations? GO: This is something that we in the sales enablement profession, I think, think about a lot because you’ve probably heard this said many, many times. There’s a difference between being responsible for sales and being responsible to sales. Sales enablement as a function is responsible to sales, but sometimes that line gets blurred. So, to the extent that my job is to ensure that the sales managers have the tools, the knowledge, and I try and facilitate as much as I can, their desire to want to hold people accountable. At the end of the day, it’s really up to them. And that falls kind of under the purview of sales management. Now, what I will tell you is the way that I incentivize them or keep people motivated to do it is kind of tap into that competitive nature that they have because this is all very transparent and non-performance focused. You’re able to share it as a team and if you have tools, where for example, you’re recording calls or there’s an opportunity to stack rank people or have contests, then all of a sudden they become a bit more engaged around how these skills actually show up in performance, how they show up in contest, how they show up in deals that people are winning or losing. They start to get interested. And I find that with sales managers, the further I can move away from enablement and training and more into the actual functional aspects of their jobs around how does this impact my ability to help my rep make their number? Everything has to go back to how is this going to impact them, make their number, how do we impact revenue? How do I increase productivity, all of that. And so as long as my programs are aligned to that shared goal, it’s usually pretty easy for them to hold their reps accountable, because it’s not about the competency itself. If you focus on the competency, you’re focusing on the wrong thing. What you should be focusing is on the end result or impact that a high functioning person on that competency should be exhibiting, because that’s really the trigger or the goal. If I have a sales rep that’s five across the board and on a PIP, who am I helping? So, what I want to see is that reps that are exhibiting the right kinds of behaviors are the ones that we determined to be right. That there’s a direct correlation between that competency level and their performance. So, you have to have that performance as the flip side of that coin. Otherwise, it’s just enablement patting ourselves on the back that we put out this great framework or we did this great training. I don’t care about any of that, to be honest. I want to see a link to bottom-line results, real measurable business results. And that’s what drives me as an enablement leader. And also then it creates a much easier relationship with my sales managers because honestly, we’re on the same page. SS: I think that’s perfect. And I want to come back to that point around kind of linking some of these efforts to performance. but let’s talk a little bit first about kind of the personal element of developing training and the importance of empathy. You had mentioned at the Sales Enablement Soirée that it’s really important to leverage empathy when developing training. So, what are some best practices for ensuring that training programs are resonating with your audience? GO: First and foremost, know who your audience is. Be aware of the calendar cadence of your company. It would be crazy for me to be scheduling trainings or anything of importance the last week of the month or week of the quarter, end of the year. So, I want to be mindful of timing first and foremost. Secondly, when I think about empathy, it’s about understanding what’s in it for the people that I’m going to be providing a service to. From that point of view, I have a much better chance of delivering content with real value because it’s not about the content itself. Again, it’s about the outcome. So, I always coach myself and my subject matter experts. What is it that you would like for your audience to know or do as a result? And if I find that the result that they’re looking for really has nothing to do with the audience and really more what they want to get out of it, then I can coach them into finding, is there really something that is a value for the sales organization? Or is this something that is really more what management needs? And sometimes you need to do that as well, but it enables me to frame it differently. That’s really when I talk about empathy is, it’s not putting my function as an enablement leader before the needs of the sales organization or of the organization as a whole and really removing myself from the equation and leveraging the people that I’m supporting as much as possible. In many cases, really working with them and putting them in front and me and behind them, supporting them. And I found that to be a really great way to build good, empathetic, cross-functional empathy and collaboration because it really shouldn’t be about us as individual enablement leaders or enablement teams. We should almost be transparent to this organization that is really coming together and doing the work and you’re there facilitating it and really curating it for them. SS: I love taking that lens through it. I think that especially with a sales audience, the whole “what’s in it for me” framework really often works well with them. In addition to that, how do you help ensure that the salespeople actually retain what is learned during a lot of these training and onboarding bootcamps? GO: I think every topic is a little bit different in terms of how you can validate that they’ve come away with something or that they are actually going to have to do something. If it’s a tools training or a skills training, generally what I’ve found is, if you’re lucky enough to have enablement tools where you can, for example, if I’m launching a new messaging or deck that’s coming from marketing, having the sales reps be able to record themselves and then be coached on it. And then that’s phase one. Then phase two is creating trackers in one of your recording tools, to be able to then validate that in the field on a prospect call, they are practicing those same principles that they are saying the words that we need them to say. That’s the in-field validation that means the most, because folks may or may not perform well in a curated environment, like a training environment. Their ability to do it really, really well in a session or in a recording to me may not necessarily translate to their ability to do it live on a call. That second validation where they’re doing it in the field is tremendously helpful. And technology supports that a lot, because in the past we really needed to rely heavily on our sales managers because they’re the ones that are on these calls. Not all of them, but many of them. The problem with that is that when sales managers on calls, unless they are purposefully attending that call to be the observer and coach for their sales rep, they’re not really paying attention as much to that. And their focus is more on how do I move this deal forward? So, my ability to be able to listen to calls. Validate that they’re doing it. Provide coaching while the sales manager is doing their role, kind of enables us to work in parallel. That’s really how I currently manage. And so, technology is incredibly valuable. There’s lots of ways that you can do it without, but it certainly makes a big difference and I feel accelerates our ability to get people where they need to be and validate that they’re actually doing it either through recording their screen when they’re doing demonstrations or giving them, “ Hey, I was on a call, I heard this objection. How would you handle it?” And then have them come back to you with that response. it needs to be experiential. It needs to be real. It needs to feel like something that the sales reps are going to be able to do and use. That’s how I like to validate that they’re actually doing it. SS: Yeah. I think that that’s very valuable. And I also think, going back to what we were talking about, linking competency to performance improvement. I’d love to kind of just close out this conversation by understanding how you measure the success of your training programs. GO: I think there’s two parameters. There’s my own personal validation that I’ve been successful if I’ve set out to build an onboarding program or put together learning series. So, there’s the basic function of enablement. Have I set up those frameworks? But the most important part and the part that I really work to focus on is actually the expected outcomes of the programs. For every initiative that I put out, particularly the bigger ones, the smaller ones, not so much, what am I expecting to see as a result? And they should be hard metrics, whether it’s a reduction in ramp time or an increase in ARR. Or if you build a really strong onboarding program, I would like to be able to see a reduction in a regrettable turnover, right? Does my program have an impact on our attrition rate, good or bad? For me, in a successful enablement program, I want to be able to see measurable impact on the business. Because like I’ve said, at the end of the day, the number of people that have been through an e-learning or the number of people that have sat through different webinars or trainings, those are important statistics to have, but they don’t mean anything if I can’t correlate those activities to real measurable business impact, that’s how I judge myself. I am first and foremost always a salesperson. I started in sales and I never left. And so I have this love and passion for the profession and for the people that continue to do it. And that’s what drives me. I continue to be very focused on business results. And I aligned my program with that. That’s where actually I start. SS: Well, I think that’s great advice for our audience. Thank you so much, Giorgia, for joining us today. GO: It was my pleasure. Thanks for having me. SS: To our audience, thanks for listening.
