This episode is brought to you by Pique. if there was one beverage that is most correlated with reducing stress, it's tea. Now, the only tea that I knew about growing up was sweet tea. Alright, my grandmother would make sweet tea or I would go to different restaurants and order the sweet tea, matter of fact, when Lipton Brisk hit the scene, so this is sweet tea that was in bottles that you could buy from the vending machine, it was so full of sugar that it had this frosted appearance, it was like frosted tea, so I'm not talking about that abomination of tea. I'm talking about the storied traditional teas that have been utilized for thousands of years to support human health. Now, one of the most well-known and well-researched teas that help to manage and reduce stress is green tea, green tea contains a unique amino acid called L-theanine, this is one of the rare nutrients that's able to cross the blood-brain barrier with relative ease and impact the activity of a neurotransmitter called GABA, which helps to reduce anxiety and makes us to feel more centered and relaxed. Now, some teas like green tea might have a small amount of caffeine, but because of L-theanine, not only does it not have that stimulating effect, it actually helps to reduce and calm the nervous system, it's really a cool combination that's found naturally in green tea. Another way that L-theanine works to improve our focus specifically, which lack of focus can lead to more stress as well, if we're not able to focus on the things that we need to get done and just get overwhelmed, but a peer-reviewed study published in the journal, Brain Topography, found that L-theanine intake increases the frequency of our alpha brain waves indicating reduced stress, enhanced focus and even increases creativity. Now, this is the most important distinction about this conversation when talking about green tea, not all green tea is created equal, not in the slightest, quality matters immensely here more than ever, because not a lot of folks realize that even some organic teas are contaminated with heavy metals and microplastics, we wanna make sure that we're getting teas from the best source possible, and the green tea that I drink is a Matcha green tea, that's actually shaded 35% longer for extra L-theanine. It's the first quadruple toxin screened Matcha, and there's no preservatives, sugar, artificial flavors, none of that stuff, just the highest quality Matcha green tea in the world from Pique Life. Go to piquelife.com/shawn, that's piquelife.com/shawn. And you're gonna get access to some of their incredible bonuses for their different bundles, like free shipping, and also an exclusive 90-day risk-free guarantee, if you don't love their Matcha green tea or any of the products from Pique Life, you can send them back for a full refund. So they're really standing behind their tea quality, they go above and beyond, and highly recommend checking them out. It's piquelife.com/shawn, that's piquelife.com/shawn. This episode is brought to you by Ettitude. As Dr. Wentz was closing with the importance of managing our sleep quality in order to help our bodies to manage stress effectively, it can be one of the biggest hangups causing excessive stress and an inability to adapt from stress if we're not sleeping well. It is a top tier concern, and we're gonna talk more about that with our next expert, which is going to blow your mind. Now, with that being said, what is one of the common things that's causing disruption with our sleep quality? Well, a growing body of data has shown that people with confirmed chronic sleep issues like insomniacs and other people in general population, but these folks tend to have a significantly warmer core body temperature at night when their body temperature is supposed to be going down. To help combat this issue, in this study, this was published in the journal, Brain, the scientists had participants wear thermo suits to lower their skin temperature less than one degree Celsius. This was so little that it didn't necessarily affect their core body temperature, but just the skin temperature. And they measured their impact objectively on their sleep quality. The study results found that participants didn't wake up as much during the night, and they actually spent more time in stages three and four deep sleep. And effectively, these folks were now having their sleep equivalent to people who didn't have notable sleep issues just by reducing the temperature a little bit on their skin surface. Now, what you wanna be aware of is not overheating your body with your bedding, and that's one of the common culprits. And in a new study, test subjects were randomly placed into one of two groups. One sleeping on conventional sheets, just the run of the mill stuff. And another group was sleeping on organic bamboo lyocell sheets from Ettitude. After compiling the data, the researchers found that, and they were actually objectively tracking their sleep quality, there was a 1.5% improvement in sleep efficiency for folks that were sleeping on the Ettitude sheets, which equated to an additional 7.2 more minutes of restorative sleep per night. Now, that might not sound like a lot, but you add that up, that's 43 extra hours of sleep per year doing the same thing they would've been doing, but their sleep efficiency, sleep quality was improved by sleeping on these sheets. And subjectively, after sleeping on these sheets, participants found that their mental alertness during the next day improved by upwards of 25% and 94% of people preferred sleeping on Ettitude Organic Bamboo lyocell Sheets. These are the sheets that I've been sleeping on for years and I can't tell you how much I love them. Check them out at ettitude.com/model. That's ettitude.com/model. From codependency to a more interconnected way to relate to reality
Most food densifies us and slows us down. The more we consume light and hydrating food, the faster we can go with our own processes. Food addiction runs deep. Fire creation beings tend to experience depression when they are not able to create, when their state of apathy is immobilizing them. I have envisioned a slow pace coaching transmutation journey as I have been noticing high frequency fire creation beings would and could be benefiting the personal attentive support that I am able to provide as a fire creation being who has walked the process of transitioning myself, for the past 5 years, to a lighter way of eating and who has solid experience with liquid and dry fasting. Symptoms that I don't understand stopped when I engaged on that road. With this new journey, my intent is to hold a high frequency healing space for the small group of participants that will choose to be working with me and me with them. This high frequency space will allow you as a participant to unfold yr paths and visions at a speeded pace : this is what happens when we are addressing the food program with a return to one of our point of original living, through the food and drinks we consume. It frees up space, time and energy. That is what the principles of the mucusfree and mucuslean living have been teaching me and how they keep on inspiring me every day as I keep on applying them to my life. In this private small container, I will be working with you not only addressing the 3D food aspects but also the emotional, spiritual and subtle psychological aspects that we are dealing with every single day that we are spending in this complicated high technology game. In this process, I will be assisted by high frequency teachers of healing modalities and high frequency guest speakers or teachers. My intent is for you, by the end of this process, to have deepened your connection with all the substances you relate with and to be well-equipped to know how to numb whenever needed, how to accelerate the pace whenever you feel ready or how to choose a steady pace for integration. We will be working on our relationship with food, with ourselves and with the experience we create in our realities. This adventure will last as long as it's appropriate for participants with a monthly payment of 127 euros per month. It could last 4 months to a year maximum, up to January 2024 after the next holiday season that can trigger programming. Everyone is at a different level in their transition with food so your pace will be very unique to you and you are the one choosing the pace you want to go at. The 3D aspect of foods and beverages are a great entry point to approach the deeper other dimensional aspects of our lives here.

Ever wondered why some people look 60 at 80 and some people look 60 at 40? Understand the mechanisms of ageing and how to bio-hack ageing to live your best life and enjoy old age.
If you feel like leaving last year behind you and stepping into a whole new world of health, then today's guest is a perfect person to listen to as she chats with Philly through all the wonderful, predominantly free things that you can do for your health. Dr. Catherine Clinton is a licensed naturopathic physician with a focus on gut autoimmunity and she is a psychoneuroimmunologist. She's here to advise on all things germs and microbes to the best time to expose yourself to the sun.KEY TAKEAWAYSCatherine is passionate about the connections we have with the world around us and how these connections can regenerate our health and the health of the planet. She sees an urgent need for healing our internal terrain. As well as healing the terrain of the world we live in.The Germ theory camp led by Louis Pasteur ascribed to the belief that each germ causes one disease, one germ causes one disease. The biologists and physiologists looking at Terrain theory are talking about how the environment around the cell or organism or microbe dictates what that organism is going to do.We live in fear of these germs and bacteria and fungi, but we're made up of them. That's what we are. We are actually nature. We've separated ourselves from that connection to nature and are being taught to fear it and that it's the cause of our illnesses. We have reconfigured the natural ecosystem around us into this hierarchy with us on top. Hands on our hips and microscope in hand. This is probably why our energy in the world is quite low at the moment. We are seeing sickness and disease run rampant.Sunlight is an energy source for our bodies but we're taught that it is dangerous for our skin. [01:37] Diets and Getting Fascinated with Health and Nutrition A low-carb diet is where you can start experiencing success in weight loss. What and how much we eat affects our entire constitution and overall health. The more you learn, the more you want to share what you've learned to help others. Melanie started trying the Paleo diet after she read Robb Wolf's The Paleo Solution: The Original Human Diet. [11:05] Getting Heavy Metal Poisoning from Fish People don't realize and tend to underestimate how much mercury there is in the fish you eat. Melanie thinks that swordfish should be made illegal to be sold in restaurants due to the amount of mercury you can contract from it. Eat fish in moderation to avoid heavy metal poisoning. You can get mercury poisoning not only from fish but from silver tooth fillings as well. Symptoms of this poisoning include fatigue, anemia, memory loss, anxiety, hot flashes, and insomnia. [25:25] What Happens When Toxins Get into the Body? Our bodies can detoxify on their own; however, we are not accustomed to the overwhelming toxic burden that we have nowadays. Every day toxins such as heavy metals in the food we eat, pesticides, skincare products, and makeup aren't regulated, which is why we consume more than we should. An abundance of certain compounds in makeup can cause you to gain weight and make it hard to lose it. Not to mention carcinogens. The solution to pollution is dilution. There are also studies about obesogens that states that they may affect insulin levels as well. [39:05] The Most Common Themes in Interviews Most people are all about bio-individuality: different diets and things work for different people. Most of them seem to be focused on fasting as well, which is quite popular at the moment. Blood sugar control is a common theme since many people have a lot of trouble dealing with it. There is no cookie-cutter approach to anything. Different strokes work for different folks. A specific diet can't work for literally everyone. It's not as simple as eating less food and moving your body, and you immediately get results. Outcomes depend on every person. AND MUCH MORE! How do you become metabolically healthy? In this episode, JJ explains why metabolic health is so important for weight loss and so much more. She shares 5 lab values that you want to pay attention to, the best way to monitor your blood sugar levels (and why that's so important), how even one night of poor sleep can dramatically sabotage your health, and why your bathroom scale isn't ideal for measuring body composition (plus what to look for instead). Whether your goals include overcoming insulin resistance (which can lead to metabolic syndrome), more energy and focus, or better overall health (or, or all of the above), these simple strategies to measure and monitor will help you optimize your metabolism.
What if you could transform your health with a handful of simple, practical steps? Many people believe the myth that a radical, difficult lifestyle change is the only route to wellness. However, the key to health is rarely found in cutting out food groups, shady detox products, or logging hours on the treadmill. Often, it's the most simple and sustainable changes that lead to lasting results. On today's show, I'm sharing the full story of my personal health transformation, including my diagnosis and the journey of mindset shifts and behavior changes that led to results. Specifically, you're going to learn five specific and practical steps you can take to gain control over your health. These five action steps are attainable, realistic, and you can implement them starting today. Whether your goal is to change your body composition, minimize symptoms, or reverse chronic illness, these five action steps can help you achieve results. I hope this episode resonates with you and leaves you feeling empowered. So listen in, take good notes, and enjoy the show! The power of seeking a second opinion in our healthcare system. What instinctive elaboration is. How our bodies are literally made from food. Which vitamins and minerals are integral for bone health. 7:22 Fellowship with Dr. Weil: It really changed my life. I felt like I could see what were some of the missing pieces. I went from being a doctor to being a healer. 11:24 Once you actually start doing it, it gets easier. I didn't put any pressure on myself to do a hundred things at one time. I said we're going to make small changes. 13:04 Overcoming plateau: I couldn't go any further but I felt like there was more that I could do. I started using some other tools out of my integrative toolbox that I was learning like guided meditation, and breathwork. 14:00 Symptoms-diagnosis-prescription algorithm: Personalized medicine is so important. We do not apply the general concepts of thousands of people to you—whether you fit in it exactly or not. We're actually applying the concepts of you to you. 18:18 Integrative medicine isn't a field on its own. It's just good medicine. Don't think of it as something necessarily separate, just think of it as something better. 19:53 Rescue Your Health hopes to help people understand that precision medicine doesn't have to be an intangible concept, or only for a particular type of person. 21:22 The Five Way Test: (1) Microbiome Test, (2) Coronary Calcium Scan, (3) Nutritional Genetics, (4) Basic Lab Tests, and (5) Body Composition Scan (amorous scan) 27:33 It's best to look at the whole microbiome. It is such a complex system, it's like an ecosystem. A better quality test is to understand what's going on in the microbiome. and what are the capabilities of these microbes. 32:27 Prevention is so much more powerful because if you can prevent that initial event from even occurring, then your overall well-being or health, and your quality of life may be much better. 36:04 Precision medicine is really a game changer in how we define health or what it means to really be healthy. 38:13 Marvin's best medicine: Believe in yourself, because we have so much power within our minds and bodies that we don't appreciate it as much. Don't give up on yourself; really understand that the best medicine actually lies within you.
Behavior design is about actively and intentionally creating your future, and only doing the highest leverage things that will get you what you really want. Not what someone else says you should want. Behavior design is things you start and things you stop and things that sound lovely, but aren't worth your effort right now, because they're not the highest leverage element in the creation of your future. Because the result you want will be different than somebody else, your path should be, too. You can be the designer of your world, and not just the consumer of it. When it comes to our health, it’s easy to blame external factors: our diet, our doctor, our coach, our friends, our family, our job, you name it. And there’s no denying that these things do have an impact on us. But this cycle of disempowerment isn’t productive—and it won’t get you any closer to reaching your health goals. This week, host Sarah Anne talks with Doug Bopst, an award-winning personal trainer, author, and inspirational speaker. As a former drug addict and felon, Doug was sentenced to 5 years in jail—and during that time, Doug started working out with his cellmate and discovered a love for exercise which aided in his recovery. Once he got out of jail, Doug hired a personal trainer, lost over 40lbs, and discovered a passion for helping others transform their lives through fitness. Today, Doug spends his time helping hundreds of people upgrade their beliefs to create lasting change. You won’t want to miss this powerful conversation.Follow:instagram.com/sarahannestewartinstagram.com/dougbopstMore resources: sarahannestewart.com

The belief that the earth provides us with everything we need has been around since the beginning of time. We know instinctively that the right foods nourish our bodies, the wrong foods harm our bodies, and what we choose on a daily basis impacts our overall well-being. No one understands this philosophy better than Holistic Nutritionist, Mona Sharma, Mona spent her early summers living in an ashram, learning the power of food as medicine and the importance of yoga and meditation on the health of the body. Today, Mona, a forceful leader, and entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry, sits down with host Sarah Anne to discuss that when we cut ourselves off from clean, organic food, we cut ourselves off from the greater quality of life we seek. They discuss how our vibration and our energetic states—including our perspective on how we feel about ourselves, both internally and externally—directly impacts how we naturally take care of ourselves and our healing. If you’re intrigued and inspired to upgrade your health and your life from the inside out, this episode is a must-listen.

What are the eating strategies that can help you upgrade your health and energy? In part two of my interview with corporate wellness expert Kate Cook, we look into strategic eating in more detail and the importance of balancing your blood sugar and knowing how that works. Visit https://www.bodyshotperformance.com/podcasts-blog for the complete show notes of every podcast episode. Topics Discussed in this Episode: Blood sugar management Ancel Keys and his Seven Countries Study Inflammation Time-restricted eating Key Takeaways: Whether you want to be a vegan or a Paleo or a keto or whatever, getting healthy all starts with blood sugar control. That is your structured strategy. Balancing your blood sugar has to do with how you control your insulin, and that is how much sugar you have at any one time in your blood. Time-restricted eating doesn’t work quite so well for women as it does for men. Upgrading your health and energy is about finding the type of diet that you can sustain, that is both healthy and balanced. Action Steps: Focus on balancing your blood sugar levels. Avoid sweet, fluffy, and white food. Aim for thick, 5% protein, and fat stuff. Control your body’s inflammation. If you want to do time-restricted eating, make sure that it fits with the rhythm of your household and the demands of your life. Tune into your body and ask yourself: When you consume something, how does it make you feel? Do you feel energized consistently or do you have a big crash afterward? Does it feel like your body is enjoying this or does it feel like it’s fighting it? Kate said: “Upgrading your own energy, there’s no shame in that. So you can give that helping hand to everybody else and really shine in your community... Wherever you want to shine, this is the start.” “On some of these strategies you have to be a little careful that you’re not so militant… Be kind to yourself and be sensitive to how you feel. And if it doesn’t suit you, don’t crack on with something that isn’t serving you.” Thanks for listening! How can you upgrade your health and energy? Corporate wellness expert and nutritional therapist Kate Cook dives into this topic with her new book, Positive Nutrition, and shares her insights into how strategic eating can help us achieve our health and energy goals. Visit https://www.bodyshotperformance.com/podcasts-blog for the complete show notes of every podcast episode. Topics Discussed in this Episode: Kate’s principles regarding diet and nutrition The functional medicine model of nutrition How nutritional science can sometimes get things wrong Personalisation with regards to eating The relationship between food, genetics, and epigenetics Key Takeaways: Nutrition is a huge foundation on how you can take your health into your own hands. The food that you eat gives you a competitive edge in life and helps you not to squander your potentials. Food has become rather tribal these days, with people being keto or paleo or vegan or whatever. However, we actually need to unify how we eat much more sensibly and instinctively and get back to the basic truths about food and nutrition. Food and nutrition not only help you reach your full potential but allow you to help other people achieve theirs as well. Nutritional science has obviously been really key to people’s health and wellbeing and there’s been some absolutely amazing progression. But sometimes it’s less about listening to the experts and more about thinking what are the basics of food and what makes sense. Action Steps: Be more holistic in how you look at food and nutrition Consider getting a genetic test. Kate said: “It is a truth universally unacknowledged that most people don’t make the connection between what they eat and how they feel.” “Food is very much about a celebration of connection. It’s about community. It’s about all sorts of other things besides it just being the molecules. So I think we’ve all got to watch how it doesn’t become some kind of almost religious philosophy.” Thanks for listening! Cassie Sobelton Show, Episode 9: Growing Your Own Garden to Upgrade Your Health
Nutrition isn't just about what you eat. Sure, the food you eat gives you nourishment, but the things you drink, the things you put on your skin, the sunlight you receive, the movement you engage in, and many other factors all add to how you "feed" yourself on a daily basis. Recently we've discovered in science that one of the the most critical nutrients for human health is bioavailable magnesium. We've also discovered that the best way to get it is not by eating common foods or oral supplementation. Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical processes within the human body. That means that there are over 300 things that your body can't do, or can't do sufficiently, when you're deficient in this key mineral. The big problem is, upwards of 80 percent of the population is deficient in magnesium. And, according to our guest, upwards of 100 percent of people are deficient if they are not actively doing things to get their magnesium levels up. Our guest today is Ian Clark, and he is one of the foremost experts in the world on magnesium, as well as many other things that create optimal health for the human body. Ian has impacted my life personally in a powerful way. Since the very first time I used the magnesium product he pioneered many years ago, I've been using it almost every day since. It travels with me, it's by my bedside, and it has given me noticeable benefits that I would rather not live without :). Today you're going to learn the inside scoop about magnesium supplementation, and it just might surprise you like it did me so many years ago. You're also going to learn about a superfood that might possibly be the most potent, complete source of nutrition in the world. Let's go! In this episode you'll discover: Why understanding epigenetics is the real key to avoiding chronic illnesses. Why magnesium might be the most important mineral for your health. What incredible functions magnesium has in your body. How ATP - the energy currency of the human body - relies on magnesium. What problems may arise by taking oral magnesium supplements (you need to know this!) Why magnesium is so important for great sleep quality. The shocking facts about marine phytoplankton. The surprising nutrient profile found in marine phytoplankton. Why I don't use a multivitamin. How Oceans Alive marine phytoplankton is actually ALIVE.
