After over 300 episodes, it's our first anime AND Dragon Ball Z episode! This week we're talking the Dragon Ball Z movie The History of Trunks. But first, do we have a limited number of intro variations we're allowed to do based on stock lyrics from the early 2000s? What's the Cody update this week? What is West Virginia's state song? Do we like treasury-sized comics? Is this one of the most bleak DBZ things ever? Were we huge Dragon Ball Z fans growing up? Is Trunks' future the Age of Apocalypse of DBZ timelines? What other Dragonball movies are good? Who were our favorite characters? Are the androids OP? How is this movie like The Terminator? Is Gohan a dick in this movie? Is this a flawed dub? Is Vegeta a deadbeat dad? Why can't they use the dragon balls in this timeline? How do you turn Super Saiyan 4? What is Dragon Ball AF? Did the world go downhill when they stopped printing Bugs Bunny thug shirts? How can we defeat the evil artificial intelligence that is Betty Yayo 2069? Are we actually in Trunk's dystopian future timeline? Where does Trunks get his sword from? Are the androids basically Team Rocket if they weren't fuck-ups? Do DBZ movies usually have good soundtracks? Did Jake like Superman more the second time around?New episodes every THURSDAYFollow us on social media! Deadpool Speculation, James Gunn speaks On the Superman Saga and Peacemaker Season 2, Fallout Season 2 Trailer

    Multiverse News

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt would appear as though Ryan Reynold's social media stunt we discussed last week is having the intended effect as a few of our favorite trades can't seem to come to a consensus. First, in the August 15 edition of Heat Vision, The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive column for all things comics, horror and sci-fi, Borys Kitt claimed that their sources confirmed Deadpool's inclusion in Avengers: Doomsday. However, later that day Deadline refuted the speculation by citing their own sources who said the actor has not been seen on the London set and is not intended to appear in either upcoming Avengers film. In less nebulous Doomsday talk, Nightcrawler actor Alan Cumming described his experience returning to the role as healing, after a terrible experience on 2003's X2. It's a big week for DC Studios with Superman hitting Video-On-Demand last Friday and Peacemaker Season 2 premiering this Thursday. While on the red carpet for the show's debut in New York, DC Studios head and Peacemaker's showrunner James Gunn defended Superman's quick availability for home viewing after just 35 days in theaters, by sharing how the film impacts the series. “It's a big part, definitely Superman leads directly into Peacemaker,” said Gunn, while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter. “Superman leads into this show and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of Peacemaker, it's incredibly important,” he continued. Gunn also teased the future for Superman on the big screen, saying, “I've already finished the treatment for the next story in what I'll call the ‘Superman Saga.' The treatment is done, which means a very, very worked-out treatment. I'm working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today.”Back to the Wasteland we go, as Amazon's marketing for Fallout Season 2 has begun in preparation for its December 17 premiere, with a full-court press that includes first look images and a trailer that was released earlier today. The images showcase returning characters played by Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Moises Arias, Aaron Moten and Kyle McLachlan, while the two minute 42-second trailer gave us our first glimpse at Justin Theroux's enigmatic Mr. House and McCauley Caulkin in an undisclosed role, which were of course accompanied, yet again, by the crooning stylings of The Ink Spots. In an interview with Collider, Marvel Zombies director Bryan Andrews confirmed that the series has moved its release date up to September 24th, and all episodes of the series will be available to stream at once. He also confirmed that the four episodes will be rated TV-MA.At a recent London fan event Sir Ian McKellen claimed Frodo and Gandalf will appear in Andy Serkis' upcoming The Hunt for Gollum film without specifying whether he and Elijah Wood would reprise their iconic roles.NBCUniversal announced that it has acquired all rights, excluding publishing, to Robert Ludlum's popular Jason Bourne and Treadstone book series.Weapons took the number one spot at the box office again in its second weekend with a drop of only 43%, bringing its worldwide total to nearly $150 million dollars. Nobody 2 generated around $15 million dollars worldwide in its opening weekend on a $25 million dollar budget.Netflix has dropped a trailer for the second half of season 2 of Wednesday, which will stream on September 3rd.Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers are in talks for a massive overall deal with Paramount that includes both streaming and features with a big theatrical component, something the pair have not been able to get at their current home of more than a decade, Netflix.Original Scary Movie actresses Regina Hall and Anna Faris are coming back as Brenda and Cindy, respectively, for the Wayans Brothers' restart of the comedy franchise, which is eyeing a 2026 release.

Every superhero has an arch-nemesis (or two). Batman's got the Joker. Spidey's got the Green Goblin. Superman? Lex Luthor. But you? You've got five freelancing villains quietly sabotaging your business. There's no maniacal laughter or evil stare. They're not wearing capes or threatening to destroy the world with a giant-ass laser. These villains are more subtle: “Just one more YouTube video…” “I'll do those reachouts tomorrow…” “I need to fix my portfolio first…” And before you know it? They've stolen another week of progress. If there's one thing I've learned working 1 on 1 with hundreds of creative freelancers, it's this: You don't rise to the level of your strategy…You fall to the level of your patterns. I've seen clients with a flawless strategy that they're trying to execute… And yet they can't get out of their own damn way to execute it. Because when things get hard, or new, or uncomfortable… We default down to whatever survival pattern we've always used to cope. In this week's episode, I'm joined by one of the Clients by Design coaches, Josh Love, to call out all 5 of those freelancing villains (and how to finally defeat them). We'll dive into: how these patterns form how they masquerade as productivity what to do when you catch yourself spiraling. The first step to defeating your particular villain is knowing which one you're dealing with. For full show notes, visit https://6figurecreative.com/376

Episode 57 - SPOILER Review: Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)Just when it was starting to look pretty bleak for comic movies (over saturation, becoming extremely dark, forgettable stories, visual effects suffering from unsustainable output stretching visual FX artists too thin), it looks like studios are getting the message. First "Superman" from DC/Warner Brothers and now for today's episode we see how Marvel/Disney with "Fantastic Four: First Steps" has done an about face and put a "fantastic" crowd-pleaser of movie to die-hard comic-fans and popcorn moviegoers alike. For today's episode our friend of the podcast, Ali-Reza Beheshti, returns and we both get into how this movie completely surprised us. A beautifully shot, wonderfully paced, thrill ride of a movie. There was a part that was a little bit of a "stretch" but the movie still was so much fun that you can almost completely let this detail go. Almost. Michael Giacchino returns as Marvel's go-to Composer but here he really crafts something epic and unique on par with John Williams music from classics such as Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. This one must be seen in the theaters. It will make you a believer in comic-book movies again. There is still life in this category of movies. Here is to hoping the studios continue to space these movies out enough to keep the creativity, anticipation, and quality going!"Fantastic Four: First Steps" is playing in theaters now. We've got more episodes, reviews, and recommendations coming your way. We share personal tales about our hobbies, like lake diving and the nostalgia of cereal box prizes that made us feel like treasure hunters, all while tossing in some takes on pop culture, like Superman's questionable fashion choices and those charming Southern accents that make everything sound like a song. We also explore the mind-bending paradoxes of time travel, the quirks of Quantum Leap, and our love for older TV shows that remind us of simpler times. We discuss how comedy has evolved in today's political climate, the impact of documentaries on pop culture, and the wisdom from unconventional teachers who taught us that life is one big improv show. And, of course, we can't forget our take on therapy and self-improvement, because who doesn't love a good laugh while figuring out life's mysteries? Through our banter and commentary, we reflect on how these topics intertwine with our personal experiences and societal observations, all while keeping the laughs rolling.
