What is Tom's typical transaction from a sub-to perspective? What are Tom's favorite tools that make his job easier? Is finding leads for sub-to deals easy? Tom Ely was born and raised in Memphis, TN, The Home of the Blues and The Birthplace of Rock ‘N' Roll. From an early age, music was his passion. He started playing guitar at 13 years old, was in his first rock band by 14, and had dreams of being a Rockstar. At the age of 23, and with no record contract, he went back to college and then went on to a career in Information Technology. With some hard work and determination, he moved up, becoming an Engineer and then a Manager, while making a six-figure salary. Growing very weary of Corporate America, and working for someone else, he decided to make a change and became a Real Estate Investor. He started his journey in Real Estate investing in April of 2015 and left his corporate W2 job in January of 2017. Tom prefers to acquire Single Family homes via ‘Subject to' or Owner Financing and rent them out as either a Lease with Option to Purchase or a Short-Term Rental. Tom also provides Hard Money loans to Investors for Fix and Flipping properties, as well as for BRRRR strategies. Tom is married to an amazing, beautiful, and talented woman, Frances Ely. Damon Remy's Bio: Damon Remy is the Chief Everything Officer of REI BlackBook. Nate Pummel's Bio: Nate Pummel is married and has four young daughters. Nate always wanted to be an entrepreneur and always loved real estate. He dabbled in real estate education and toyed with some other business ideas but didn't get serious until he had his third daughter. Nate's two older daughters were struggling with his work schedule which encouraged him to think harder about earning income a different way so he could spend more time with his family. Everything changed for him at work during a “big” promotion. He was a high performer and got promoted after only eleven months in his position… for a whopping 0.4 percent raise. That led Nate to the realization that if he was going to live the life he wanted for himself and his family, he was going to have to do something different. Nate went back to real estate and has been investing for three and a half years, leading to the creation of his real estate investor startup, Profit Drive.
