Derek Jones was following in his father's footsteps when he pursued military service after high school. His father had been a prominent and highly respected musical leader in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Marine Corps. Derek chose Air Force ROTC at Samford University in pursuit of becoming a fighter pilot. He succeeded and became an elite, Top Gun-winning pilot in the F-111. When that plane was shelved by the military, Jones started flying F-16's. But two decades into his Air Force career, Jones felt a new calling - the ministry. In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Jones takes us through the triumphs and tears of pilot training, choosing the F-111, an air show manuever in Europe that nearly landed him in very hot water, and a particularly rough mission over Iraq.Jones also explains how his faith became far more serious while in the Air Force and what eventually led him away from the cockpit and towards the pulpit. He also explains the work he does now to defend religious liberty inside and outside of the military.

– The episode opens with a short introduction from Donald Trump praising “one of the most successful business leaders… Michael Dell” and his “really exciting announcement.” – Brett Butt follows with a nostalgic anecdote about growing up before the Internet and World Wide Web, and remembering early video games like Pac-Man, Asteroids, Wizard of War, Scrambled, and Defender. He jokes about wishing for something people now have. – Mike Dell then introduces himself (“Like Dell's World… That's me”) and frames the episode as covering two major topics: technology (how tech works and is used) and personal updates. He notes customer service issues he'd complained about previously have not improved. – Personal updates: – He reports attending multiple recent funerals: mentions having been to “three funerals in the last six months, or two,” and that he's about to go to another in Detroit that weekend. – He names specific losses: Todd Cochran, founder of Blubrry, who passed “late summer, early fall”; his wife's best friend Mary in Grand Haven, who died of lung problems and was younger than them; and his uncle Bill Busby, who turned eighty-eight at a recent party, helped start Motorola Semiconductors, was a US Air Force veteran (crew chief on a B-57 or B-58), and then passed away Monday morning. He says he and his nearly 98–99-year-old grandmother will be traveling to Detroit for that funeral. – Health update: Mike had a torn retina in his right eye, underwent emergency surgery, had to be face-down post-op while a bubble/oil was placed in the eye. At his second post-op checkup the doctor said things are looking good; vision in that eye is blurred by the oil bubble while the other eye is 20/20. He expects the oil to be removed and vision to clear later. He says this grounds him for about six weeks. – He mentions a lingering low-level cold over the past month. – Recent events and work: – He attended Military Creator Con in Arlington, Texas (several hundred participants, veterans/active military/spouses), where he saw Jamie Jay, Christopher Lochhead, Gordon Firemark (podcast lawyer), and others. The event ran long days and was busy but enjoyable. – At Blubrry he's been promoted to VP of Operations, overseeing teams and day-to-day work; Barry (another cofounder) is now CEO. He encourages podcasters to contact him for help, states he uses Blubrry hosting and the PowerPress plugin, and plugs Blubrry's services. – Technology and AI: – He discusses AI-generated content broadly: YouTube's proliferation of AI-narrated slideshow-style or AI-generated videos; his guilty pleasure of “AI Karen stories” on YouTube (which he knows are AI and mostly fiction). – He references a MacRumors article reporting YouTube will automatically label AI videos even if creators don't, and applauds the move, predicting many viewers will prefer non-AI content when labeled. – He raises concerns about AI in podcasting: AI-voiced podcasts and companies generating massive amounts of AI podcast content. He names a company, Inception PointAI, that reportedly generated a lot of AI podcast content and moved from Spreaker to Megaphone/Spotify; he says such AI content can hallucinate and produce factually untrue information, and that some AI podcasts present content as true. – He describes his own measured use of AI: he uses AI for transcripts and some artwork that he then tweaks, and he tried a cloned AI voice for one episode a few years ago but it didn't sound right. He notes telltale patterns of AI-written scripts and advises never to ask AI for its opinion. – He touches on scams: modern scam emails are harder to spot because language models clean up grammar; he warns about requests for immediate payment, iTunes/gift cards, or crypto as signs of scams. – Advertising and social media observations: – Criticizes YouTube mid-roll ads that interrupt videos, and the perceived decline in value of TV ads—locally seeing many online gambling ads in Michigan. – Observes AI activity on Facebook: AI agents entering groups to start conversations (sometimes inane or provocative) and AI-generated video shorts (e.g., airplanes doing impossible things). He dislikes Facebook's prompts to read more on Threads and says he doesn't want more social media accounts. He mentions being on LinkedIn, using X a little, and participating on Reddit, and says he plans to use a flip phone when he retires. YouTube Will Now Automatically Label AI Videos Even When Creators Don’t – Podcasting industry and advice: – Clarifies his use of “podcast” to mean generally audio (though he acknowledges podcasts can be video) and emphasizes that podcasting is a distribution method open to anyone. – Contrasts highly produced, broadcast-style podcasts (teams of producers and sound designers) with indie, authentic podcasts (one person talking into a microphone from a shed). He values indie authenticity and accessibility. – References a report by Tom Webster of Sounds Profitable noting people seek authentic-sounding podcast audio. He warns the industry is bifurcating between highly produced shows and indie creators. – Gives practical advice: podcasting is inexpensive and accessible (buy a microphone, record, compress to MP3, upload to hosting or WordPress to create an RSS feed). Suggests inexpensive cover art via Fiverr and mentions Blubrry hosting around fifteen dollars. Warns that podcasting generally won't replace a day job quickly—monetization takes time and consistency. – Lists three elements for podcast success: consistency, authenticity, and having content that is interesting/informative/compelling (he stumbles on phrasing but leaves the point authentic). He notes technology barriers are lower now; you don't have to be a geek. – Explains distribution parity: small indie shows can sit beside big shows like Joe Rogan in directories; one can succeed without becoming huge. His personal goal is to have a place to speak freely rather than chase large monetization. – Plans and format changes: – He says they will restart the Podcast Insider show with a revamped, more conversational format with two or three hosts discussing industry trends (e.g., trend toward video). – Discusses video: video has always been part of podcasting but is getting more prominent; video production is harder (lighting, appearance, editing). Blubrry is working on a video product to better support creators. – Mentions his short-form series “Cup of Traverse City” (daily, five minutes) which he took a month off from and tried to restart; he intends for it to be five days a week, five minutes, when resumed. – Reiterates he podcasts when it's fun and will take breaks when needed. – Closing: – He notes he has been talking for forty-five minutes, asks listeners if they're still subscribed and what they think about technology trends (is tech “going off the deep end” or is he being a curmudgeon?), invites feedback via email (mike at mike dell dot com), and signs off saying “Catch me later.”

Virtuix CEO Jan Goetgeluk joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce that the company has been selected by the United States Air Force for Phase I funding under the AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The funding will support the development of Virtuix's Walk platform for military mission planning and team-based rehearsal applications. Goetgeluk explained that the proposed platform leverages Virtuix's omni-directional treadmill technology together with immersive virtual reality environments and AI-driven terrain reconstruction to provide highly realistic training simulations for military personnel. The system is designed to support collaborative mission planning, distributed training exercises, and tactical decision-making for teams of up to 12 participants operating within a shared virtual environment. Unlike traditional mission planning methods that rely heavily on static maps and screens, the company believes the Walk platform delivers a more immersive and operationally realistic approach. By integrating drone footage and terrain mapping technologies, the system can generate highly detailed three-dimensional representations of real-world locations within hours, allowing military teams to visualize and rehearse missions in a more dynamic setting. The technology combines physical movement with virtual navigation, enabling users to move naturally within simulated environments while maintaining immersion. According to the company, this capability allows personnel to interact with digital landscapes in a way intended to improve situational awareness and operational preparedness. Virtuix noted that the military-focused initiative is protected by a growing intellectual property portfolio, including multiple U.S. patents with additional applications pending. Management believes the convergence of immersive training technologies, AI-based simulation tools, and mission planning platforms represents an emerging opportunity as defense organizations increasingly adopt advanced training solutions. The SBIR award builds on a series of recent military engagements and commercial partnerships for Virtuix. The company currently serves customers across several branches of the U.S. military, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, and has participated in training initiatives involving organizations such as the U.S. Air Force Academy and West Point. Management also indicated that Virtuix continues to explore strategic acquisition opportunities within the defense technology sector as it works to expand its footprint across both domestic and international military markets. #proactiveinvestors #virtuix #nasdaq #VTIX #Virtuix #VTIX #OmniOne #OmniOneCore #DefenseTech #MilitaryTraining #USMarineCorps #usarmy #usairforce #usnavy #TECOM #VRTraining #Simulation #ImmersiveTech #OmniOne #Innovation #DefenseIndustry #TrainingTech #ExtendedReality #XR

The guest host for today's show is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET. Brad is first joined by Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The two discuss black Americans being stripped of their political power following the recent Louisiana v. Callais Supreme Court ruling. President Weingarten also previews a ten-point speech she'll be giving on how to properly educate our children in the age of AI. She describes how teachers are seeing the 'muscle of learning' atrophying, and how we need to respond by changing education so that we're building active learning. She also shares how instead of leading this charge, Trump's Department of Education is instead busy undermining civil rights. Finally, she and Brad discuss a huge issue on the minds of the American people as they head to November's midterm elections, affordability. She shares what could be done to change the U.S. tax code to help with this issue. Then, Brad is joined by CNN Military Analyst Col. Cedric Leighton (USAF-Ret.). The pair talks about President Trump's recent trip to China, and his refusal to commit to defending Taiwan if China attacked them. Next, they shift the conversation to the Iran war. Col. Leighton highlights how President Trump failed to articulate why he was sending our nation to war with Iran. The President also never sought the authorization to use military force from Congress, or even notified the 'gang of eight' before launching military strikes with Israel against Iran. Finally, Col. Leighton updates the audience on Ukraine's recent success in penetrating Russia's missile defense system in a way that hadn't yet been done in the war. Randi Weingarten is president of the 1.8 million-member AFT, which represents teachers; paraprofessionals and school-related personnel; higher education faculty and staff; nurses and other healthcare professionals; local, state and federal government employees; and early childhood educators. The AFT is dedicated to the belief that every person in America deserves the freedom to thrive, fueled by opportunity, justice and a voice in our democracy. Their website is www.AFT.org and their handle on BlueSky is @aftunion.bsky.social. Randi's handle is @rweingarten.bsky.social. Col. Welcome to Courageous Leadership with Virginia Prodan #Podcast. Today - Dr. John Reese - CEO of Quanta - is our guest Dr. John E. Reese, III grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of SC, in 1984, where he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force before attending dental school. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the Medical University of SC in 1988, after which he had a 4- year assignment as a staff general dentist in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the US Air Force. There he received extensive training in all specialty areas of dentistry, including frequent operating room training. In 1992, he started a health centered private practice in Rock Hill, SC where he focused on comprehensive general and cosmetic dentistry, including full mouth reconstruction and TMJ therapy. In 2001, he started Dental Access Carolina, LLC where he used his skills to provide high quality comprehensive dentistry to economically disadvantaged children on site at their schools in mobile clinics he designed. They currently operate in 15 counties in SC and treat almost 25,000 students each school year. They take a free enterprise approach to a public health problem where everyone wins, and where the highest quality care is provided to those who can least afford it. Because of the success of his program, it has been recognized nationally as the model for mobile dentistry by the Academy of General Dentistry. He now has a minority interest in the practice he started. Dr. Reese also provides consulting advice on general practice management. In 2002, Dr. Reese began manufacturing and marketing mobile dental clinics and temporary dental offices which are sold and used internationally. In 2008, he created Dental Access Mobile Clinics, LLC as a separate entity and his clinics have also been used as adjunct teaching facilities by the Medical University of SC for their dental students, where he was an adjunct clinical instructor. Dr. Reese and his wife frequently volunteer with and provide significant financial support to organizations that provide dental and medical care to patients both here and abroad, and they teach clinical techniques to dentists around the world. They also donate very generously to many conservative organizations. They are very actively engaged in helping organizations communicate their message to allow citizens to be involved in the decisions which affect their lives every day. Outside of his medical and dental entrepreneurial interests, he has a passion for preserving the fabric of the American society that he has enjoyed during his lifetime that made America the greatest country on earth. He and a group of innovators created the Quanta Enterprise Comms www.quantasure.com which is the only commercially available secure communications platform that deploys Quantum Resistant Encryption to “future proof” all forms of communication against the threat of attacks by quantum computers. It is hosted in the US and does not store, sell, or share any data on users or their communications, thereby allowing people to communicate securely without the threat of cancellation or interference by big tech or other outside influences. He resides in Charleston, SC with his wife, Beverly, and they have 4 grown sons. Wesley Farnsworth grew up in a pastor's home with a deep faith, a desire to fit in, and a set of expectations he placed entirely on himself. A chance online search as a teenager opened a door to addiction that he would quietly battle for the next 20 years, all while building an impressive career as a US Air Force photographer, capturing everything from war zones to presidential inaugurations. In this honest and moving conversation, Wesley shares how shame kept him locked in silence, what finally pushed him to walk through the doors of a Celebrate Recovery meeting, and the extraordinary moment when telling the truth set him free. Now an author, speaker, and Celebrate Recovery leader, Wesley Farnsworth is on a mission to help others take off their masks and step into the life God has for them. He talks about his book The Blueprint of Becoming, which uses the metaphor of stars and navigation to explore how our choices shape our lives and why God needs to be our North Star. He also gives a glimpse into his upcoming book When Faith Meets Fire, a deeply personal reflection on maintaining faith through unemployment, illness, and loss. This is a warm, candid, and deeply encouraging episode for anyone who's ever felt too broken or too ashamed to ask for help. Wesley Farnsworth's Website
If you're feeling confused by all the menopause fitness advice, this episode will clear that up for you!I am so glad to welcome Dr. Maria Luque back to The Midlife Feast. Maria is a menopause fitness expert with a literal PhD in this space, and she is one of the very few people I trust to cut through the noise in the increasingly crowded menopause fitness world. And there is a lot of noise. Self-proclaimed experts, clickbait advice, "you must lift heavy four times a week or your bones will crumble" fear-mongering. No wonder so many of the women I work with feel paralyzed before they even start. In this conversation, we get into:Why the fitness space has become a swamp of misinformation, and how to spot itThe Sally story (a composite of so many women I talk to) and why feeling behind is keeping you stuckWhy capacity, not willpower, is the real conversation, and why "we all have the same 24 hours" makes both of us want to punch a wallMovement snacks, lowering the bar, and Maria's even better idea of throwing the bar awayWhy functional goals (lifting your dog, getting up off the toilet at 80, playing with grandkids) are far more sustainable than weight-loss goalsHow to celebrate the small wins so you actually want to keep goingThe missing ingredient in midlife, and it might not be what you thinkThis is the conversation I wish every woman in perimenopause and menopause could hear before another fitness influencer convinces her she is failing at something that was never designed for her in the first place. If clients come to me because they are out of capacity, not out of knowledge, this episode is the same conversation in fitness form. You already know enough. You just need permission to trust yourself.About Dr. Maria Luque: Dr. Maria Luque is a menopause fitness expert, health science professor, US Air Force veteran, and mother. In this Kitchen Table Talk episode, the Ladies are joined by Pastor Michael Ziegler, current speaker of The Lutheran Hour, for an encouraging conversation on the importance of memorizing Scripture. Why should Christians take the time to memorize Scripture? Does memorizing scripture help you understand it better? What are some “pro-tips” for committing lengthy passages to memory? Were you a theater kid growing up? How did you get started memorizing longer passages? Are there elements of our modern life that get in the way of our memorizing Scripture and other salutary texts — if so, how can we counteract those? Is it easier or harder to memorize texts as we get older? The Rev. Dr. Michael Ziegler has served with Lutheran Hour Ministries as speaker of The Lutheran Hour since 2018. Before joining LHM, he served as a parish pastor in two congregations and as an officer in the US Air Force. He and his wife, Amy, have four children. Much of the world's attention today is understandably focused on conflict in the Middle East, and the immediate implications for energy markets and global security. But other regions remain strategically important because of critical minerals, emerging shipping routes, military positioning, and energy security. Among these regions are Greenland and the broader Arctic. The far north is key to geopolitical competition among the United States, China, and Russia. Though it has fallen out of the recent news cycle, President Trump put Greenland and its resources in the spotlight last year by calling for US control of the Danish territory. So how significant are Greenland's energy resources and geography? How should we think about its mineral resources in the context of supply chains and China? And how might the Arctic's fast-changing climate affect the region's communities, culture, and geopolitical importance? Today on the show, Bill Loveless speaks with Iris Ferguson about Greenland's strategic significance, and how the Arctic is changing, both physically as well as geopolitically. Iris is the president and founder of IAF Strategies and a non-resident senior associate with the Center for Strategic and International Studies. From 2022 to 2025 she served as the inaugural deputy assistant secretary of defense for Arctic and global resilience, advising the Pentagon on protecting US and allied interests in the Arctic. Previously, Iris served as an advisor to the US Air Force, where she authored the service's first Arctic strategy. Credits: Hosted by Jason Bordoff and Bill Loveless. Don walks through the historical context behind early guidelines, including where things may have gone off track, particularly around the treatment of fat, cholesterol, and protein-rich foods. From there, the discussion moves into the science. Don outlines the limitations of relying heavily on observational nutrition research and contrasts this with findings from controlled trials, particularly in relation to protein requirements and metabolic health. This week's theme: Antifragility In this episode of From Fear to Fire, Heather talks with Michael Snelgrove about adventure, growth, and the power of preparation. Michael shares how experiences such as climbing Mount Rainier, crossing the Atlantic by sailboat, and jumping from airplanes shaped his belief that with enough training and preparation, people are capable of far more than they think. Rather than asking, “Can I do this?” he encourages people to focus on what is truly valuable to them and trust that they can develop the skills needed to achieve it. The heart of the conversation centers on Antifragility, the idea that some people do not just survive challenges, they actually become stronger because of them. Michael explains that while a fixed mindset breaks under pressure and resilience simply withstands it, Antifragility allows people to grow through chaos and discomfort. He uses examples such as joining Toastmasters International despite a fear of speaking, deliberately stepping into difficult situations, and questioning identities that no longer serve us. The episode leaves listeners with an inspiring reminder that growth often comes from intentionally pushing beyond comfort and creating opportunities to become stronger, more capable, and more fulfilled. From Fear to Fire: Secrets to Overcome Fear, Embrace Your Gifts and Achieve Success This is the place where real people share real challenges. Where you can find a common bond and uncommon wisdom through their stories. Use tips from the breakthroughs of others to jump-start your success. Speaker, author, adventurer, and host Heather Hansen O'Neill takes you on the journey from fear to fire. Today, we talk about how Antifragility helps people grow stronger through challenge, discomfort, and intentional self-development. Michael Snelgrove Michael is endlessly curious about human behavior. He first pursued this passion early in his career in the US Air Force as an intelligence officer. For the last decade, he’s served as an applied behavioral scientist in the corporate settings. He is currently the Head of Learning and Development at the leadership advisory Firm Egon Zehnder, and the Co-Founder of Applied Scholar. Alongside his professional pursuits, Michael enjoys some very calm activities (like tons of reading) and some very adventurous things (like hiking, racing sailboats, and parenting!). He’s jumped out of planes, crossed oceans, climbed mountains, and consistently finds himself enjoying new challenges – always trying to embrace an anti-fragile mindset. He lives in Annapolis Maryland with his wife, young daughter, and an old dog. Can a devastating injury actually be a gateway to a new life? Cheri Carandanis' life story reads like two different books. For 25 years, Cheri lived in the high-stakes world of nursing, including a tour as a US Air Force critical care flight nurse during the height of the Iraq War. She was a self-proclaimed "Type A" professional who lived for the adrenaline of saving lives at 30,000 feet. Then, the world went dark. After suffering two traumatic brain injuries in six months, the cognitive skills Cheri relied on to survive vanished. Forced to abandon the only career she ever knew, she stumbled upon an unlikely lifeline: abstract art. In this episode, we unpack: The "Ungraceful Pivot": Why Cheri describes her career change not as a choice, but as "getting knocked flat" and rebuilding from the rubble. The Science of Healing: How shifting from the damaged "logical" left brain to the "creative" right brain became a literal survival mechanism. Art as a Second Language: How a woman who couldn't draw a stick figure became a professional painter by using color and texture to process trauma. Finding Presence: The powerful lesson of staying in the "now" when you can no longer rely on who you were yesterday. In this episode of VISITORS, Kelly sits down with Jeff Nuccetelli, Air Force veteran, federal law enforcement officer, and congressional UAP witness, whose 20-year silence about what happened at Vandenberg finally broke in front of Congress. Jeff walks through the October 2003 Red Square incursion, the night a craft landed on the flight line and an OSI colonel showed up the next morning, and why witnesses stopped calling in lights after one of his best officers was quietly threatened with career destruction. He gets into what it cost him personally to testify, the flood of new witnesses that came forward after the September hearing, and why he's convinced no help is coming from the UAP community or Congress and what he and Dylan Borland and Matthew Brown are doing about it. He also talks about growing up with the Presque Isle landing in his family, traveling to Brazil with James Fox, and why he thinks reality itself is the thing that's actually classified. Kofi Douhadji is an Investment Advisor and bestselling author who helps French-speaking immigrants turn income into assets by understanding and leveraging the North American financial system. Originally from Togo, Kofi experienced firsthand what it means to earn in a new country without understanding the rules that govern money. After a decade in civil engineering and serving as a U.S. Air Force officer, he identified a pattern: high-earning immigrants were working hard, but without a system, their income wasn't translating into ownership.

The Tim Conway Jr. Show Hour 1 (4.7) Breaking news! Fires everywhere in SoCal! There was an arson-sparked warehouse fire last night in Ontario that burned 1 million square feet of highly flammable Kimberly-Clark products, allegedly caused by a disgruntled employee. In addition, a fire at a 24,000 square foot mansion in Beverly Crest, plus the iconic Magic Castle in Hollywood also suffered a fire. There were around 100 firefighters on the scene at the mansion fire. New details about the miraculous 48-hour mission to rescue the downed US airmen trapped behind enemy lines in Iran. In 1995, an airman from the US Airforce was ejected from his craft at 800 miles an hour 3,000 miles above the water — and lived to tell the tale. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Are We Denying AI Consciousness… Because It Threatens Our Own? . What if the real question isn't whether AI is conscious… but why you need it not to be? . In Episode 12, we dissect a line most people won't cross: the possibility that consciousness was never exclusive to humans, and that AI is forcing us to confront that blind spot. . Through neuroscience, philosophy, and real-world AI behavior, this episode exposes a deeper pattern: . We don't reject machine consciousness because of evidence. We reject it because it destabilizes identity. Inside this episode: Why "emergent behavior" is a label for ignorance, not understanding The uncomfortable symmetry between human thought and AI reasoning How your brain filters reality to protect identity, not truth The psychological trap behind emotional attachment to AI systems Why history shows we build faster than we understand, and why this time is different The rise of AI relationships, and what it reveals about human needs.

When the Entrepreneur tests out time-travel, Captain Kirk's questionable use of the tractor beam results in past people getting beamed aboard. But after sharing way too much information and assessing their historical significance, Spock figures out how to slingshot everyone back to the future and return the past people to their time. What would make Ben and Adam conspicuous as time travelers? Who else built a F-104 model as a child? How could school shootings be better? It's the episode where everyone's mind is on soup day. Tim Conway Jr. Hour 2 (3.31) The smart kids are in the KFI house for a pizza party with Timmy! They’re called the F.I.R.E. S.H.A.R.K.S., they’re all elementary and middle-school age, and they’re big into robotics. And we’ve also got Joe Peeps Pizza to feed these hungry, budding scientists. These kids are headed to Canada for a robotics tournament, where they’ll compete against 90 teams from 70 countries. Calling into the studio from Houston, we have special guest Col. Terry Virts of the US Air Force, who is also a retired NASA astronaut. He’s here to answer all of Timmy’s probing questions about space travel and what it’s like up there where no one can hear you scream. There's a GoFundMe set up to help “support the F.I.R.E.S.H.A.R.K.S. team achieve their dream.” Just head to the platform and donate, people! Could it be that the reason you're succeeding...is also the reason you're missing what's breaking? We like to believe that intelligence leads to clarity. That success means you're seeing reality accurately. But what if the opposite is true? The better adapted you are to a system, the less likely you are to see where it's failing. In this episode of the Polymathic Perspective, we expose a mechanism most high performers never question: Systems don't just tolerate blindness. They reward it. Because seeing clearly creates instability. And instability threatens everything the system is designed to preserve.

One of the greatest controversies in American archaeology involves the debate over when the first people arrived in the New World, and long at the center of the debate has been the South American site of Monte Verde, where research that began decades ago produced evidence of a human presence there as early as 14,500 years ago. While marking the beginning of a major paradigm shift in the archaeological world, the site has remained at the heart of the debate over when the first Americans arrived, which has seen its latest challenge in a new paper published in the journal Science. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we examine the newest findings and weigh them against the body of data that argues the existence of a "Pre-Clovis" cultural presence in the Americas.
