It's Wednesday, January 3rd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Pakistan, Nigeria, China, & Afghanistan increasingly persecute Christians Release International put out their Persecution Trends 2024 report last week. Paul Robinson, CEO of the persecution watchdog, said, “Anti-Christian persecution is rising in India and other nations around the world. Hostility is turning to violence. Christians are being attacked and driven from their homes.” Pakistan, Nigeria, China, Afghanistan, Eritrea, North Korea, and Iran are increasingly persecuting Christians as well. Despite being the worst country in the world for the persecution of Christians, the report noted that believers actually gained ground in North Korea. Under the cover of the pandemic, they ministered through radio broadcasts and online content.  2 Corinthians 4:8-10 says, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.” Abortion: Leading cause of death worldwide Once again abortion was the leading cause of death last year. Worldometers estimates at least 44 million babies were murdered in the womb last year. The World Health Organization has an even higher yearly estimate, “Around 73 million induced abortions take place worldwide each year.” Based on that, abortion accounted for over half of deaths last year, far outpacing deaths from cancer, smoking, and disease.  Abortion remains the leading cause of death in the United States as well. Nearly one million babies were killed in 2023. Christian student's T-shirt: “Homosexuality is a sin.” The daughter of a street preacher finally reached a settlement with a Tennessee school in a religious liberty case. Three years ago, Livingston Academy public high school sent Brielle Penkoski home for wearing a shirt that read, “Homosexuality is a sin” with the Bible reference of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Her father, Rich Penkoski, told The Christian Post, “Brielle got $100, which is way, way more than we thought she was going to get. The other part of this is all the teachers, at least from 2020, were told to start taking First Amendment courses. It was one of the things that I insisted on.” Trump back on Colorado ballot Former President Donald Trump is back on the ballot in Colorado. Last month, the state's Supreme Court ruled he was ineligible for the presidency based on the insurrection clause in the 14th Amendment.  Last Wednesday, the Colorado GOP appealed the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. Colorado's Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, responded by announcing Trump's inclusion on the ballot until the high court acts. Meanwhile, Trump leads President Joe Biden in a USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll 39% to 37%. Trump also leads or has made gains among Black, Hispanic, and young voters. Sound of Freedom: 10th biggest movie of 2023 The faith-based movie Sound of Freedom from Angel Studios came in 10th at the box office last year. Jim Caviezel starred in the film based on a true story about rescuing children from human trafficking. Sound of Freedom grossed over $184 million. It beat out several big productions with much larger budgets like Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and Mission: Impossible -- Dead Reckoning Part One. Only 37% of Americans make New Year's Resolutions A CBS News poll found only 37% of Americans make New Year's resolutions. But of those who do, 59% said their New Year's resolutions will mostly be about praying or attending religious services more. The survey noted, “Those who already attend religious services at least weekly are overwhelmingly likely to say their resolution is to pray and attend services more.”  Bible remains best-selling book of all time And finally, the best-selling book in 2023 was, you guessed it, the Bible. It's also the most sold book of all time. Guinness World Records notes, “The best-selling book of all time is the Christian Bible. It is impossible to know exactly how many copies have been printed in the roughly 1,500 years since its contents were standardized, but research conducted by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 2021 suggests that the total number probably lies between 5 and 7 billion copies.”  On top of that, about 80 million Bibles are printed every year. Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, January 3rd in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pakistani Muslims killed two Christians Random killings of professing Christian believers continue in Pakistan.   Last month, one man was killed by Muslims when he had attempted to stop them from stealing his guava fruit. And now, a Catholic father of six, Emmanuel Masih, was beaten to death by a Muslim landowner who falsely claimed he took oranges from his grove, reports Morning Star News. Pray for Emmanuel's family which has lost its only breadwinner.  Pakistani teen girl abducted, forcibly married to 60-year-old Muslim And here's yet another story of an abducted Christian girl in Pakistan. This time, a 15-year-old daughter was abducted and forcibly married to a 60-year-old Muslim, reports Morning Star News.  Saira Arif was kidnapped on December 15 by Rana Tayyab in the Yousafabad area of Faisalabad, Pakistan. After nearly two months of appeals, the Pakistan police finally registered the case.   Forbes Magazine has reported that at least 1,000 women from religious minorities are forcibly converted and married annually in the country.   Will there ever be any justice served in this dark and evil land of Pakistan? According to Open Doors, it is the seventh most difficult country worldwide to be a Christian.   Pray for the Christian Gospel to make it to this poor country. Hindu mob in India attacks Christians, leaving 2,500 homeless Things are getting tougher for Christians in India as well. Violent attacks by radical Hindus over the last two months have left 2,500 Christians homeless. And the government is doing little to address it. According to International Christian Concern, a Christian leader from the north said, “No worship service on Sunday is taking place in the villages of Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts.  Christians are traumatized and constantly living under fear and intimidation. Their survival is looking very grim on the ground; they need prayers and a helping hand.”  Canadian pastors vindicated for in-person services during COVID Here's good news for Christian churches in Canada.   A Canadian court has dismissed charges against pastors in Ontario and New Brunswick for holding in-person church services during the COVID-19 crisis.    Pastors Phillip James Hutchings of His Tabernacle Family Church in Saint John and Pastor Aaron Rock of Harvest Bible Church in Windsor have been vindicated.  Earthquake fatalities in Turkey/Syria soar to 35,000 The fatalities resulting from last week's earthquake in Turkey and Syria now exceed 35,000. That's the deadliest earthquake since the Haitian earthquake of 2010 where 100,000 to 300,000 people died. An estimated 800,000 people have died in earthquakes thus far this century. 163,000 have died in hurricanes and cyclones.   Meanwhile, 30 million died of HIV/AIDS in this century; 7 million of COVID 19 according to Worldometers, and about 30 million have died by tuberculosis. These have been the most serious pandemic diseases and causes of death by acts of God since the turn of the century.  Habakkuk 3:3, 5 declares that “God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. ... Before Him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at His feet.” Winning Super Bowl quarterback gives glory to God In Super Bowl 57 on Sunday, quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, reports The Associated Press. That's the second Super Bowl win for Kansas City in four years.   Mahomes, the youngest quarterback to start three Super Bowls, was given the MVP award for the game. It turns out he is an outspoken Christian, reports SportsSpectrum.com. Listen to part of his testimony he gave shortly before playing the Super Bowl in Phoenix. MAHOMES: “My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do. Now, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am in His name. So, it has a role in everything that I do. And obviously it will be on a huge stage and a Super Bowl that he's given me and I want to make sure I'm glorifying him while I do it.” Mahomes discussed his strategy. MAHOMES: “It's about just playing for your teammates, just trying to do whatever you can to win the game for your teammates beside you. And, in that moment, God gave me the strength to run and get that first down and get us in the field-goal range.” Few Gen Zers are conservative, yet nearly 20% attend church A recent report on Gen Z-ers produced by the Walton Family Foundation found only 10% of young people between the ages of 15 and 25 years old call themselves conservative, compared to 26% of older adults over 26 years of age.   But 18% of Gen Zers still attend church regularly, and that's similar to the rest of the population.   A slightly higher percent of Gen Zers claim to be Evangelical compared with the older population.  Yet only 9% claim to be liberal Protestant, while 23% of the older population claim to be liberal Protestant.  And 16% of Gen Zers identify with some kind of perverted sexuality, compared to 4% of the older population.  Is revival breaking out in Wilmore, Kentucky? Kentucky Today reports on an extended revival service taking place at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. It's gone on now five days longer than initially scheduled. Asbury College was the site of another revival in 1970. How do you know if this is a true, efficacious work of the Holy Spirit?   The article quotes Tim Beougher, the pastor of West Broadway Baptist Church and a professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He said, “It's not how high you jump, it's how straight you walk when you land. It's the fruit that comes from it.”  Psalm 85 brings out this prayer: “Wilt thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee? Show us Thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us Thy salvation.” Penguin fossil from 7-foot, 350-pound bird before worldwide flood And finally, paleontologists have found the remains of a huge penguin, probably a species that existed before God destroyed the world in Noah's flood. This beautiful creature was about 350 pounds and stood some 7 feet tall, reports Cnet.com. Now, that's a big bird! Being the 2nd largest country in the world, there are many things it has the most of or the largest of - such as having the most lakes in the world, having the highest tides and the place with the strongest current, having the most northern settlement, the largest wheat field, and the longest street. But it's more famous for ice hockey, moose, maple syrup, and bears, especially grizzly and polar bears. In fact, in one city in Manitoba province, people make sure they leave their cars unlocked. This is so that someone who may need to flee from an oncoming polar bear, can find safety in a close-by vehicle. ·      00:25 – Intro  ·      01:10 – Bare Bones ·      02:32 – Heart of the Nation o   Geography/Climate to Social Provisions Find Nations of the World Podcast: Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.org Website https://nations-of-the-world.captivate.fm/ (https://nations-of-the-world.captivate.fm) Patreon https://www.patreon.com/nationsoftheworld (https://www.patreon.com/nationsoftheworld) Where is this information coming from? This country has the world's longest lake as its western border. And along that lake many have seen Gustave, a crocodile who is credited with eating hundreds of people over the course of his life which is estimated at being 60-100 years. The country has seen 2 mass genocides in its history. The people here enjoy banana beer, which is an important part of social gatherings. Botswana was, in 2016, named by Lonely Planet, as the top destination for tourists. It is likely because about 40% of its land is reserved under government protection, as natural areas in the form of sanctuaries, reserves, wildlife management areas, and national parks. One special area is the Kalahari Desert, with a delta that supports many species of large mammals including rhinoceros, cheetahs, and lions. It is also famous for its large dazzle of zebras and meerkats.   ·      00:00 – Intro  ·      01:11 – Bare Bones ·      03:03 – Heart of the Nation ·      01:08:26 – Who Is? ·      01:10:14 – Who Would've Thought? Bhutan is a country that is very serious about the environment. In fact, it's the first country to become carbon-negative, and one of 3 countries who can claim that title. Unlike most countries who measure their success via GDP, this country has a measure known as GNH - Gross National Happiness. This is based on 4 different indicators: sustainable development, preservation and promotion of cultural values, good governance, and a healthy environment. Even the nation's constitution includes an article pertaining to the environment, where it states, ‘Every Bhutanese is a trustee of the Kingdom's natural resources and environment for the benefit of the present and future generations, and it is the fundamental duty of every citizen to contribute to the protection of the natural environment.' ·      00:39 – Intro  ·      01:39 – Bare Bones ·      03:35 – Heart of the Nation ·      01:01:10 – Who Is? ·      01:04:04 – Who Would've Thought? SUMMARY: - In 1996 Americans with Internet access spent less than 30 minutes a month surfing the web. Yet these days, people spend about 15 hours or more a week in front of their computers, TVs, and smartphones. - The new generation is too practical to cry over lost things and people. They're explorers and adventure seekers. - Partners still share a bed, but a different kind of distance has grown between them. The biggest hindrance between couples these days is the increased use of technology. - Who knew that just a few decades later, we'd be getting our money out just like you would a cold soda from a vending machine. - Over 100 countries have already banned the use of corporal punishment on children in schools. And if a teacher decides to break the law and put their hands on a student, news travels fast thanks to social media and that teacher will face the consequences! - Worldometers puts the current global population at more than 7.6 billion and growing. - On an overpopulated planet with a housing situation the way it is, cities don't have the space and people don't have the money for large homes. - There was a time when kids would get together and go out to play. Outdoor activity was a great source of physical exercise and helped strengthen their social bonds. - There used to be these ancient things called picnics, house parties, and backyard social gatherings. - Huge piles of paperwork and long nights at the office have now been replaced by an array of work-from-home options. Saatnya Pemimpin Dunia Islam Bersatu Tegakkan Syariah dan Khilafah Oleh: Miladiah al-Qibthiyah ( Kontributor Tetap NarasiPost.Com ) Voice Over Talent : Giriyani NarasiPost. Demikian parahnya. There was a lot going on during the election. Like, a lot. For example -- did any of you notice how many states either legalized or decriminalized drugs (like that biddy Oregon, that made every drug decriminalized?)? Well, if you didn't, now you do! And also now you get to listen to us talk about the effects of this Portugal (which already decriminalized all drugs years ago), the effects of Colorado legalizing marijuana earlier this decade, and what the potential effects will be for the states that just approved them this year.

I'm always inclined to focus on my ANXIETY right now - COVID-19 spreading across the world is a frightening time for all of us. It can feel almost apocalyptic. Especially if you're a 24/7 news consumer and researcher like I am! But today's episode is about a different PERSPECTIVE. I'm NOT saying we shouldn't be realistic about this virus - it is not a hoax, it's not something that only affects older people, and it's not a time to be a rebel and mess with the rules the government has in place for us (stay the HELL at home!). And yet, I want you to focus, just for this short episode on the ALTERNATIVE, the more positive perspective that coronavirus is offering, worldwide.  I look at the value of FAMILY TIME during quarantine... How we're able to exercise on our own schedule, with amazing instructors from all of the world... And other benefits, in my top five silver linings to the Corona crisis we're enduring right now. In today's podcast, I want you to know ONE important thing:  It is PERFECTLY okay to be worried about the coronavirus / COVID-19. You are not overreacting. You are not being 'over the top'. You may be concerned, and not even be experiencing anxiety. To be honest, this is a serious situation and so it would be kind of strange, if we weren't concerned about the potential outcomes. BUT... there are many ways to manage these feelings, in order to not get caught up permanently in a downward spiral, which only leads to panic and illogical thinking. In today's podcast, I'm sharing the preparations I've already taken (I'm a 'prep and forget' kinda gal!).... how I'm currently protecting myself... and 5 top tips on how to deal with coronavirus / COVID-19 related anxiety / worry, and not let it get out of control.  The risks ARE low. Logically, I’m not much more at risk of COVID-19 than I was before I knew it existed. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't take it seriously. Today's podcast is a NO JUDGMENT zone (I don't care if you've stockpiled loo rolls, disinfectant, pasta, or gin...), it's a place to get some great ideas on how to manage the fear that this virus is generating.    Honorable Mentions (if you can't access these links, try using the Apple Podcasts or Overcast apps) Research into car accident risk Andrew Saul's research No Germs hand sanitiser (alcohol free, UK brand) Worldometers statistics tracking for coronavirus / COVID-19 Les Mills on Demand BeachBody on Demand Yoga with Adriene (free YouTube yoga) Research into how loneliness and stress may decrease immunity (University of Ohio research, 2013).   Workbook on Self-Talk- FREE!   Workbook on Building Rituals - FREE! high-quality blog content that converts! You see, not all online content is created equal. In fact, most content is average... and average outright sucks. Worldometers tells us that approx. 4,102,364 blog posts are written per day. 4 MILLION PLUS! Crazy right? So if you want your content to stand out, and do more than simply sit on your website... And rapidly disappear into the online abyss... Then you're going to need to do something different to most businesses posting up articles online. This is particularly important if you're investing time, money and energy into researching, writing and publishing blog posts (or podcasts). After all, you want to see some kind of return on investment (ROI) right? (even if you DO understand that blogging and podcasting are playing the long game...) In this episode, we discuss what high quality content looks like, with a real example, and the 4 steps it takes to create conversion content. Listen in now.
