Als Verlobte des bayrischen Königs Ludwig  II. musste sie Demütigungen über sich ergehen lassen. Connaîtriez-vous la reine Charlotte sans La Chronique des Bridgerton ? Mais c'est du divertissement, pas de l'histoire ! La série donne à voir une version romancée du personnage, très éloignée de la réalité. Dans ce récit inédit, Virginie Girod vous présente la véritable histoire de la reine Charlotte. La vie de la reine consort est un drame à l'anglaise. George III monte sur le trône en 1760. Il a 22 ans. L'urgence est de trouver une épouse qui lui donnera des héritiers. Il jette son dévolu sur une aristocrate allemande, Sophie-Charlotte de Mecklembourg-Strelitz, la dernière-née d'un duc du Saint-Empire Romain Germanique. Elle est docile, loin de celle dépeinte dans la série comme une femme forte et sévère. Une aubaine pour son mari, le roi Georges III d'Angleterre, dont les atrocités auront raison d'elle. Tout commence pourtant bien. Son mari est prévenant, et Charlotte tombe enceinte quinze fois entre 1762 et 1783. Mais petit à petit, le roi devient étouffant : il considère la reine comme sa chose. À partir de 1788, George III est en proie à des crises de violence : il en vient même aux mains avec son propre fils ! Alors que la famille royale se déchire, la reine Charlotte doit endurer les violences et les humiliations de son mari. Les crises sont si aiguës que Georges III est progressivement écarté du pouvoir. Mise sous tutelle, au ban de sa propre famille, la reine Charlotte est devenue une femme aigrie, agressive avec ses enfants. Elle s'éteint en 1818. Ce n'est qu'en 1940 qu'un rebondissement posthume donne une nouvelle tournure à son histoire. Joel Augustus Rogers, journaliste noir américain, prétend que la reine consort était métisse. Théorie très contestée, c'est néanmoins la représentation qu'a choisi d'en faire Netflix pour sa série. David Fincher's The Killer is dropping on Netflix! It received a limited theatrical release, so we had to catch it on the big screen at the Laemmle Glendale. The film stars Michael Fassbender as an ascetic assassin who sticks to his plans and never improvises. But when a hit job goes awry, he's forced to go on the run while killing off some loose ends. The script is by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en, 8mm, Brainscan), and it's perfect material for Fincher, who directs the hell out of it. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provide the synth score. The cast also includes Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O'Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton. Fire up your Netflix and watch it, and then hear our hawt take!

A fortiori dans le contexte professionnel. Sophie-Charlotte est ce qu'on appelle veuve précoce, c'est-à-dire qu'elle a perdu son mari avant l'âge de 55 ans. C'est le cas d'environ 500 000 personnes en France. En 1897, un terrible incendie ravage le Bazar de la Charité, une grande vente de bienfaisance à laquelle participait Sophie-Charlotte de Bavière, épouse du duc d'Alençon ​et sœur de Sissi. Jean des Cars revient sur sa mort tragique. 

Sophie Charlotte d'Alençon est née en Bavière et a failli en devenir la reine, si Louis II n'avait pas rompu leurs fiançailles, notamment suite à la découverte d'une liaison entre Sophie et le séduisant fils du photographe de la Cour. Humiliée par cet épisode, Sophie trouve néanmoins un beau parti français avec le duc d'Alençon, ce qui ne l'empêchera pas de traverser plusieurs épisodes dépressifs au cours de sa vie. Grande mélomane passionnée de Wagner, elle vit une nouvelle liaison passionnée avec son gynécologue, scandalisant à nouveau la bonne société, avant de se tourner vers la religion et les bonnes œuvres. Tout comme Lady Diana, la duchesse aimait rendre service aux plus démunis! Cet engagement la perdra, puisqu'elle mourra dans le terrible incendie du Bazar de la Charité à Paris en 1897, qui fit plus de 100 victimes.

Sophie-Charlotte Adler ist eine Hypnosetherapeutin und Psychologin. „Maß und Messen“ - so lautet das Motto des Salons Sophie Charlotte 2019. Flüchtig klingt das Thema nach einem Heimspiel für die Naturwissenschaften, bei denen Anwendungen, in denen Maß genommen oder etwas gemessen beziehungsweise vermessen wird, zum Forschungsalltag gehören. Aber wäre es nicht vermessen, bei Maß und Messen nicht auch an andere Wissenschaftler und deren Disziplinen zu denken? Zum Beispiel an Sozialwissenschaftler, die ebenfalls messen, Daten miteinander vergleichen und ins Verhältnis zueinander setzen. Und auch die Geisteswissenschaften, die sich längst natur- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Verfahren geöffnet haben, dort, wo es Sinn macht und erkenntnisfördernd sein kann, stehen hier alles andere als im Abseits. Ihre Disziplinen sind es nicht zuletzt, die sterile Messverfahren in einen gesamtgesellschaftlichen Kontext rücken und entscheidende Fragen nach Sinn, Zweck und Verantwortung stellen. „Maß und Messen“ - so lautet das Motto des Salons Sophie Charlotte 2019. Flüchtig klingt das Thema nach einem Heimspiel für die Naturwissenschaften, bei denen Anwendungen, in denen Maß genommen oder etwas gemessen beziehungsweise vermessen wird, zum Forschungsalltag gehören. Aber wäre es nicht vermessen, bei Maß und Messen nicht auch an andere Wissenschaftler und deren Disziplinen zu denken? Zum Beispiel an Sozialwissenschaftler, die ebenfalls messen, Daten miteinander vergleichen und ins Verhältnis zueinander setzen. Und auch die Geisteswissenschaften, die sich längst natur- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Verfahren geöffnet haben, dort, wo es Sinn macht und erkenntnisfördernd sein kann, stehen hier alles andere als im Abseits. Ihre Disziplinen sind es nicht zuletzt, die sterile Messverfahren in einen gesamtgesellschaftlichen Kontext rücken und entscheidende Fragen nach Sinn, Zweck und Verantwortung stellen.
