Growing up in Birmingham, England, Neil's childhood home wasn't just haunted—it was a gateway between worlds. It began with shadow figures and a mysterious weight sitting at the end of his bed, pulling the quilt tight around his feet. Even his mother witnessed it and fled the room in terror. Soon, Neil saw an elderly couple walking out of his parents' bedroom—and weeks later, while working on the house, his father discovered their photo hidden beneath a stair step. When the family removed it, the spirits grew restless—footsteps, cold spots, and a terrified dog who refused to climb the stairs until the photo was returned to its place. But that was just the beginning. From a floating quilt gliding across the room, to something unseen climbing on top of him, laughing, and running away on all fours, Neil's encounters blurred the line between nightmare and reality. Years later, a mysterious old woman appeared, handed him a torn page from the Bible, and disappeared—leaving behind a verse reminding him that even in his darkest moments, God was with him. #RealGhostStoriesOnline #TrueHaunting #HauntedEngland #GhostCouple #ParanormalEncounters #HauntedChildhood #ShadowPeople #GuardianAngel #UKHaunting #SupernaturalExperiences #FaithAndFear #ParanormalPodcast Love real ghost stories? Stonehenge is a mysterious and ancient stone circle in England. People from long ago built it over 4,000 years ago, and we still don't know exactly why. Some think it was used for ceremonies or to watch the stars. Each giant stone is very heavy, and it's a big mystery how they moved them there. Many people visit Stonehenge every year to see the amazing sight and learn about its history. It's a special place that helps us understand the lives of people from the past.

Living in historical times means truly seeing those who change the world for the better. The Trump approach is finding real solutions. He's sitting on the big chair and that is important. This peace was forged in daylight with real transparency. No secret channels or hidden clauses. Honesty generates trust. Commercial diplomacy and parallel reconstruction are tools. The British Colonialists were there at the start, intervening, interjecting and demanding. Talking facts and proof, without bias, is a rare thing. You will never love each other, but you must live together in peace. Belt And Road framework, with interdependancies, is proving to be a model for others. Capitalizing on turmoil for business and profit. Systems were built to preserve leverage. Fragmented opposition and natural resources are a perfect combination. Elusive borders were part of Middle East history. England decided to put the Jews there. Back then, it was anti-Zionism. They were pawns used to get a foot in the door. It's been happening under our nose. Imperialism hasn't died yet, but President Trump is killing it.People can no longer see the obvious. Get ready because it's about to go down hard core. Now is the time to check your courage level, and top it off as needed.

In 1945, the Nobel Committee awarded its prize for literature to Gabriela Mistral (1889-1957) "for her lyric poetry which, inspired by powerful emotions, has made her name a symbol of the idealistic aspirations of the entire Latin American world." Born in a rural Andean valley and abandoned by her free-spirited father at the age of three, Mistral struggled for the right to be a teacher - and then went on to help reform the Chilean educational system to improve the lives of women and the impoverished. After experiencing heartbreak and several tragedies, her poetry collection Desolación ("Desolation" or "Despair") (1922) made her one of Latin America's most revered writers. In this episode, Jacke looks at the life and works of this remarkable poet, whose constant search for truths in nature and humanity informed a body of work that continues to delight and inspire. For this week's Haunting Season-themed Bonus Episode we're chatting all about the mythology of Zombies and Revenants! To start off with, which is which? Because one dates from Medieval times, and the other comes from a word invented by an English poet in 1819.And if we look further back, to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome and Scythia, what root creatures and legends can we find that travel forward through history to become 'The Zombie' and 'The Revenant.'One is rooted in fear surrounding death, too, and society showing due respect to the dearly departed, while the other is rooted in racism, yet both end up in the same place.A world of paranoia, filled with the fear of others, and about the belief the End Times are coming.Mix in a little bit of Samurai and Cowboy mythology and a sprinkling of Science Fiction and it turns out we've ended up exactly where we wanted to be.A place where zombies could be anywhere, or anyone... but don't worry, as zombies can be cute now, so, presumably, less dangerous?Three Ravens is an English Myth and Folklore podcast hosted by award-winning writers Martin Vaux and Eleanor Conlon.Released on Mondays, each weekly episode focuses on one of England's 39 historic counties, exploring the history, folklore and traditions of the area, from ghosts and mermaids to mythical monsters, half-forgotten heroes, bloody legends, and much, much more. Then, and most importantly, the pair take turns to tell a new version of an ancient story from that county - all before discussing what that tale might mean, where it might have come from, and the truths it reveals about England's hidden past...Bonus Episodes are released on Thursdays plus Local Legends episodes on Saturdays - interviews with acclaimed authors, folklorists, podcasters and historians with unique perspectives on that week's county. With a range of exclusive content on Patreon, too, including audio ghost tours, the Three Ravens Newsletter, and monthly Three Ravens Film Club episodes about folk horror films from across the decades, why not join us around the campfire and listen in?Learn more at www.threeravenspodcast.com, join our Patreon at www.patreon.com/threeravenspodcast, and find links to our social media channels here: https://linktr.ee/threeravenspodcastProud members of the Dark Cast Network.Visit our website Join our Patreon Social media channels and sponsors Hosted on Acast. October 31, 1963. Newcastle, England. 70-year old Katherine Lillian Armstrong fails to show up for choir practice at her church. The following morning, Lillian's body is discovered near the bottom of the staircase in her house and she has been stabbed 28 times and strangled with one of her nylon stockings. Since there are no signs of forced entry, police suspect that Lillian willingly let her killer inside, but even though a massive investigation is launched, no compelling suspects are found and the motive for the crime remains unknown.  October 31, 1980. Bristol, England. 39-year old Derek Grain leaves his hotel and spends the night drinking at a pair of local nightclubs. After leaving one of the clubs during the early morning hours, Derek is later found dead in a pool of blood a quarter-mile away and it turns out he was kicked in the head and bludgeoned with a sand-filled traffic cone. Since money was stolen from Derek, it is theorized that he was the victim of a robbery gone wrong, but even though there are reported eyewitness sightings of someone being attacked by multiple people who fled the scene in a maroon Jaguar, the crime is never solved. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we travel to the United Kingdom to explore a pair of unsolved murders which happened to take place on Halloween. As Elizabeth I approached the end of her life, the constant topic of conversation was who would be her successor. Her ministers all had their own opinions, often varying, while Elizabeth herself never truly confirmed who her own preferred candidate was, but, in the end, it was the Scottish king, King James VI, who was selected to follow in her footsteps, so how did this come about? To discuss this, I am pleased to welcome historian Leanda de Lisle back onto the podcast for a discussion based around her book, after Elizabeth, the death of Elizabeth and the coming of King James. From those final few months of Elizabeth's life to the journey James made through England, join Leanda and I as we examine the moment when the Tudor dynasty reached its conclusion.

On this day in Tudor history, 16 October 1594, Cardinal William Allen died in exile in Rome. To Catholics, he was the shepherd who kept the old faith alive. To Elizabeth I's government, he was a traitor who conspired with England's enemies. I'm historian and author Claire Ridgway, and today we're exploring the life of the man who founded the English colleges at Douai, Reims, and Rome; who helped bring the Douai-Reims Bible into print; and who sent secret missionary priests back to England, knowing that discovery meant death. But Allen's story darkened when he threw his support behind Philip II of Spain and justified Elizabeth's deposition as a heretic. Was he a man of faith or a man of treason? Judge for yourself as we trace the choices that made him both hero and villain in Tudor eyes.
