Primé à Cannes l'an dernier (2024) par l'Œil d'or du meilleur documentaire, «Les filles du Nil» nous transporte dans un village du sud de l'Égypte où un groupe de jeunes femmes tente de briser les codes. Un film touchant et nuancé sur la lutte pour l'émancipation féminine. Dans un village traditionnel aux bords du Nil, une troupe de théâtre composée de jeunes femmes coptes ose l'impensable : dénoncer en pleine rue les mariages précoces et défendre l'égalité des sexes. Armées de leur courage, elles affrontent un public médusé et une société profondément patriarcale. Le film suit principalement trois protagonistes dont Majda, leader déterminée du groupe, qui voit peu à peu sa troupe se désagréger face aux pressions sociales. Majda, Monika and Heidi are part of the Panorama theatre troupe in the village of El Barsha, a small Coptic Christian community in the south of Egypt. As they devise and perform plays in the street, filmmakers Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir follow the young women, who are negotiating the moment between adolescence and adulthood, contemplating their destinies and their dreams. “The Brink of Dreams” won the L'Œil d'or prize at the Cannes Film Festival. We speak to director Nada Riyadh about the power of female solidarity, how street theatre shifted mentalities in villages and the importance of cultural role models for women and girls in Egypt.

Zelo rada bere, da pa ji gre izredno dobro tudi pisanje, dokazujejo kar tri knjige, ki so doslej izšle. V nastajanju je četrta, ki bo bolj osebna, saj je morala gospa Majda v življenju čez mnogotere čeri. V oddaji Obrazi sosednje tokrat gostimo glasbenico, muzikologinjo, pisateljico in profesorico na mariborski Pedagoški fakulteti Majdo Eržen Novak. Kot skladateljica je izdala več zbirk pesmi za otroke, s pesmimi pa opremi tudi svoje pravljice. Njene Lisičje pravljice so bile izbrane za radijsko oddajo Lahko noč otroci, pred kratkim pa je izdala novo božično pravljico.

Ime tedna sta postali Majda Koren in Ana Maraž, pisateljica in ilustratorka, ki sta za izvirno slovensko slikanico Protideževna juha prejeli nagrado Kristine Brenkove. Z elementi čudežnosti, nepričakovanih rešitev in domislic z ljudskimi pregovori avtorici ponujata bralsko motivacijo tudi bolj veščim otrokom, vsem pa sporočata, da v skupinah šteje vsak člen. Kandidatki sta bili še: Zvonka Makuc, kostumografinja, ki je ustvarjala za številne slovenske in mednarodne žanrsko različne celovečerne filme, med katerimi se mnogi ponašajo z nagradami filmskih festivalov. Za izjemno delo, ki se je vtisnilo v našo skupno kolektivno podzavest, je prejela nagrado Milke in Metoda Badjure za življenjsko delo na področju filmske ustvarjalnosti.  Alenka Zupančič, filozofinja, strokovnjakinja lacanovske psihoanalize in kontinentalne filozofije ter ena od vodilnih znanstvenic na področju sodobne misli o razmerjih med znanostjo in humanizmom. Je prejemnica nagrade Udine Filosofia, priznanja za pomembne prispevke k filozofiji in spodbujanju filozofskega diskurza širše javnosti.

Nedeljska gostja je arhitektka, ki v zadnjih petih desetletjih intenzivno sodeluje pri prenovi Ljubljanskega gradu. Če bi želeli njeno strast in žlahtnost ob pripovedovanju o poklicu, ki ga živi že 40 let, ljubezen in svetost, ki ju čuti do sveta someljejstva, shraniti v steklenico, bi hitro ugotovili, da to ni možno. Ženska, ki je pred davnimi leti izrekla DA Škotski in ogromno doprinesla k njeni industriji viskija, je sklenila dva zakona, enega z nekdanjim vojaškim pilotom, drugega pa s svetom someljejstva. Niti na kraj pameti ji ni padlo, da se bo kdaj ukvarjala z alkoholom ali tobakom, pa četudi je oskrbovala ladje z vsem, kar so potrebovale, in znala brati njihova naročila s teleprinterja, a v takratni Jugoslaviji je bila v to prisiljena, če je hotela obdržati službo, saj tega ni želel početi nihče. »Zame je bila to sramota, saj sploh nisem vedela, da obstaja več vrst visikijev. A ne boste se delali norca iz mene,« pove. Zdaj je že dolgo tudi na Otoku zelo cenjena vitezinja viskija. Z njenim bogatim poznavanjem zgodovine, tudi množičnih velikih pijanstev narodov, se izkoreninjanja alkoholizma loteva drugače. »Ljudi je treba opismenjevati. Mi Slovenci imamo zelo dobro besedo: uživanje alkohola, uživanje, ne pijančevanje. Neekscesno, ampak kulturno.« Dama, ki močno občuduje zavzetost in zanimanje posameznikov, ki želijo pripravljati odlična kakovostna sadna žganja, za katerimi je cela znanost in ki so za Slovence značilna. Letos je veliko drena, ima veliko vitamina C. Poslušalka Majda je povedala, kako narediti marmelado. 1 kg drenovih plodov, 300 gramov sladkorja. Plodove operemo in posušimo - segrevamo na nizki temperaturi (60 stopinj) v pečici, da koščice odstopijo. Zmes spasiramo, dodamo sladkor in skuhamo do želene gostote. Po želji lahko dodamo jabolčno maso. Na koncu lahko dodamo muškatni orešček in limonino lupino. Dajemo v kozarce in ko se ohladi, zapremo. Druga poslušalka pa je povedala, kako narediti liker iz drena. 1 liter vode, 1,5 litra sadjevca, 5 dl 70 odstotnega alkohola, 3,5 kg svežega drena, 1 kg rjavega sladkorja, 1 žlička ekološke limone, 2 stroka cimeta, 1 strok vanilije, 1 zavitek vanilijeva sladkorja. To damo v večji kozarec in pustimo na toplem dobre 4 tedne. Precedimo skozi cedilo in gazo. Posebej zavremo vodo, dodamo začimbe in sladkor, ohladimo in pustimo stati 12 ur. Tako dodamo žganju, premešamo in pustimo stati še 3 ure, nato ga natočimo v čiste steklenice.

Z glasbo se je začela ukvarjati zelo zgodaj, pri sedmih letih je pela pesem »Oj, jaz sem mali bitles, kitaro rad igram….«. V času študija je spoznala Branka Jovanoviča Brendija, ki je zanjo napisal prvo veliko uspešnico Pošlji mu veter pozdrav. Z njegovo zasedbo Don Juan je nastopala po vsej Sloveniji. Nekaj let je pela v Italiji, Avstriji, na Finskem, Švedskem. »Tisto je bilo garanje« se spominja. »V Stockholmu sem morala k specialistu za glasilke, ki me je soočil z dejstvom, da so moje glasilke zelo uničene in da moram prekiniti s petjem, ali pa ne bom nikoli več pela. « Nekaj njenih projektov je izdala tudi Založba ZKP RTV Slovenija. Je avtorica skladbe Vzemi me veter, za katero je na Slovenski popevki leta 1999 prejela nagrado za najboljšo pesem v celoti. I spoke with Madja Pazman on Nov 4, 2021 and we enjoyed following her where her intuition lead her in pursuit of horses and how that has brought many things into her life. She talked about the awareness of what is her ego and what is her intuition and understanding when things are not going smoothly to access if she is in the way or something else trying to tell her she is on the wrong path. It was wonderful to hear the evolution of where intuition has lead her along the way. BioMajda Pazman, originally from Croatia Europe, is a 36 year old horse lover, who has by following her horse dream, travelled the world. Growing up in a small traditional country in Europe that doesn't welcome anything that is different from its traditions, she decided to do things differently from how she was taught to do. Majda decided not to follow the usual, well established and secure but boring path in life and follow her strong pull toward the Wild West, open plains, cattle drives and horsesIt was not easy but luckily 'when you want something all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it'. It is up to us to listen to what our intuition is telling us.

Mineva desetletje, odkar je umrl Vojteh Ravnikar, nesporni protagonist slovenske arhitekture v obdobju zadnjih desetletij 20. in prvega desetletja 21. stoletja. Zasnoval je sežansko občinsko stavbo, tamkajšnje pokopališče in Kulturni center Srečka Kosovela, hotel Klub v Lipici, stavbo tako novogoriškega gledališča kakor sosednje Goriške knjižnice Franceta Bevka. Uredil je Giordanov in Carpacciev trg v Kopru ter četrt stoletja vodil Piranske dneve arhitekture, ustanovil ter urejal revjo Piranesi, opus pa sklenil s Zimskim dvorcem Bloke. To je le nekaj del iz opusa Vojteha Ravnikarja, ki je tako pomembno soustvaril podobo zlasti Primorske, najpomembnejši del njegovega opusa pa je nastal znotraj skupine Kras. Arhitekture se ni loteval zgolj z mislijo na njene tehnične in oblikovne vidike, temveč tudi skozi etične, družbene in estetske premisleke. V Ravnikar Gallery Space, v sodelovanju z Muzejem za arhitekturo in oblikovanje (MAO) se jim je zato zdelo primerno, da obletnico arhitektove smrti obeležijo z razstavo, za katero so umetniška dela prispevale avtorice in avtorji z različnimi delovnimi ozadji in likovnimi izrazi, ki pa v okviru razstave ostajajo osredinjeni na figuro Vojteha Ravnikarja. Razstava je tako zasnovana z mislijo nanj in njemu v spomin. O njem sicer najbolj govorijo njegova dela, ampak tudi ljudje. Zato so tokrat z nami gostje: Majda Širca, umetnostna zgodovinarka in publicistka, tudi arhitektova soproga, Roman Uranjek, vizualni umetnik (tudi del skupinske razstave, dolgoletni prijatelj), Maruša Zorec, arhitektka in profesorica na Fakulteta za arhitekturo v Ljubljani (del skupinske razstave, arhitektova sodelavka in študentka), Piera Ravnikar, vodja galerije Ravnikar Gallery Space in zgodovinarka. V Slovenski kinoteki so ob stoletnici Federica Fellinija,enega najvplivnejših filmskih režiserjev 20. stoletja, načrtovali številne dogodke: v novih razstavnih prostorih Kinoteke, gostujočo razstavo Stoletnica. Fellini v svetu ter retrospektivo Federico Fellini 100. Retrospektiva in ogled razstave sta zaradi aktualnih ukrepov za preprečevanje širjenja koronavirusa predstavljeni za nedoločen čas. O novih prostori in o Felliniju bodo spregovorili vodja Muzejskega oddelka Špela Čižman, direktor kinoteke Ivan Nedoh ter filmska publicistka Majda Širca.

Wykład w ramach cyklu „Sześć wieków relacji polsko-tureckich”, Zamek Królewski w Warszawie [19 stycznia 2017] Rysunki kostiumów tureckich z XVIII w. pochodzące z kolekcji Stanisława Augusta Poniatowskiego pokazują bogactwo strojów, które już nie istnieją. Opowiedział o nich prof. Tadeusz Majda podczas wykładu w Zamku Królewskim w Warszawie, który odbył się w ramach cyklu „Sześć wieków relacji polsko-tureckich”. Rysunki powstały w latach 1779-1780 w Stambule. Do Polski trafiły w 1781 roku prawdopodobnie w wyniku poselstwa Karola Boskampa-Lasopolskiego, które nabyło je za pośrednictwem Stanisława Kostki Pichelsteina – absolwenta Szkoły Języków Orientalnych w Stambule założonej przez Stanisława Augusta Poniatowskiego, który sprawował na dworze sułtańskim funkcję tłumacza. Na 280 kartach przedstawione są stroje, obyczaje, budowle i wykonywane kary. Prof. Majda podczas swego wykładu opisał historię zbioru, a także opowiedział obszernie o jego części dotyczącej stroju. Na pokazanych rysunkach można oglądać ubiory z czasów panowania sułtana Abdülhamida I (1725-1789). Dzieła pokazują, jak zgodnie z ówczesnym ceremoniałem nosił się władca, dygnitarze, urzędnicy, wojskowi, duchowni i służba. Prelegent przedstawił również rysunki pokazujące stroje przypisane do poszczególnych nacji zamieszkujących Imperium Osmańskie oraz ubiory kobiece.

Politiki oziroma intelektualci so s tem pozivom povedali, da ta trenutek ni katerikoli v zgodovini, ampak je prelomni trenutek, ki ga je kot takega treba tudi videti in obravnavati, je prepričan Markeš. Delova komentatorja sta kot iztočnico tokratnega video komentarja vzela pismo, objavljeno tudi v Delu, heterogene druščine podpisnikov, kot se je izrazil Žerdin. Med slovenskimi podpisniki so Mladen Dolar, Stojan Pelko, Majda Širca, Slavoj Žižek, Alenka Zupančič, iz širše skupnosti pa je med drugim to pismo podpisal tudi Jean-Claude Juncker, nekdanji predsednik evropske komisije. Vprašanje je bilo, kaj bo z demokracijo v Evropski uniji v kontekstu izrednih ukrepov. »Tarča« tega pisma oziroma skupne peticije je situacija na Madžarskem. Žerdin je Markeša vprašal, o čem nam pravzaprav govori pismo. »Fokus je na Madžarski, ampak z ozadjem zaskrbljenosti nad prihodnjo Evropsko unijo: kakšno EU želimo imeti in kakšno lahko imamo na podlagi dejstev, ki jih zdaj že poznamo.« Orbán je dobil mandat parlamenta: da je on vse in da je vse Orbán, in da se tako rekoč parlament odpoveduje svoji lastni funkciji, vse pa je pokrito z izrednimi razmerami. Politiki oziroma intelektualci so s tem pozivom povedali, da ta trenutek ni katerikoli trenutek v zgodovini, ampak da je pravzaprav prelomni trenutek, ki ga je kot takega tudi treba videti, obravnavati in 'zagrabiti', je prepričan Markeš. »Ne sme nam biti vseeno, kakšna bo prihodnosti EU. Če govorimo konkretno o Sloveniji, je od tega odvisna tudi naša prihodnosti.« V pozivu so vse to neposredno povezali s korupcijo in umanjkanjem demokratičnih praks, torej sistemov nadzora. »Kar je v tem pismu pomembno za nas, je to, da se Madžarska na nek način v pismu zrcali v Sloveniji: v večji ali pa manjši obliki. So nekateri, ki mislijo, da to ni nevarno in visoko simptomatično. Sam mislim, da je.« Kot dodaja Markeš, se je nenazadnje že v prvih petih minutah izbruha koronavirusa pri nas razpasla korupcija. In ta korupcija nikoli ne bi bila mogoča, če ne bi bilo teh praks, npr. same zamenjave ljudi, ki so naenkrat postali epicenter korupcije. Ali je to naključje?
